When you think of an employee manual, you probably think of a rigorous handbook that weighs a ton. But, employee manuals have come a long way since then and can prove to be incredibly useful in our businesses. We often hear of CEO’s in the entrepreneurial world who are reluctant or even fearful of dealing with people issues. Rather than overcoming those fears, they keep them bottled up and stay in the chaotic mode of overwhelm far longer than they should. Little do they know that a lot of their problems can be solved with help from an employee manual that includes a few key HR policies. An employee manual can provide you with the confidence to answer your team’s questions while also empowering your team to discover their own answers inside its pages. On this episode of the podcast, Shelli Warren talks to Niki Ramirez about why an employee manual is one of your most powerful tools as a CEO. Niki is the Founder and Principal Consultant at HRAnswers.org, a firm dedicated to providing progressive, practical human resources and guidance that leaves an impact on small business success. Central to the work that Niki engages in is her philosophy that everything that is accomplished is through great employees; great employees led by confident, caring leaders. Over the past 20+ years, she has had the privilege of working with small and large businesses, in the public education and non-profit sectors, as well as in Native American tribal government and business enterprises. Niki has a strong desire to educate and empower entrepreneurs, small business leaders, and their employees to work in partnership to design and implement meaningful programs that drive the success of their organizations. Join Shelli and Niki on this podcast episode to uncover the basics as to why you need an employee manual!
