July 23, 2019. Founders Ministry drops a documentary trailer that flashes a blurred silhouette for just over a second. Nine days later, three board members resign. Not over a scandal. Because they didn't want to be associated with questioning one woman. Four years later, court documents proved the questioning was right. An unlicensed investigation. A lead attorney wearing four hats simultaneously: advocate, editor, advisor, and opposing counsel. $1.05 million to her client. $13 million drained from the largest conservative Protestant denomination in America. This is a story about a five-phase playbook documented by economist Gary North in 1996 for taking over a conservative institution from the inside. With procedure. With moral pressure. With guilt. The SBC followed every step. Phase one: find the moral vulnerability they can't defend. Phase two: make institutional self-defense look like complicity. Phase three: force the procedural surrender. Phase four: use the surrendered weapons. Phase five: inherit everything. Harvard. Yale. Princeton Seminary. The PCUSA. Now the SBC. Same playbook. Every time. The question isn't whether it's coming for your institution. It is. The question is whether your men will stand. In this episode, Eric and his colleagues discuss the necessity of defining specific goals when attending professional conferences. While staying at a unique headquarters in San Antonio for the Sponsor Games, the group emphasizes that most attendees fail to see a return on investment because they lack a strategic game plan. Triplet explains his methods for proactive networking, such as using intentional "elevator pitches" and analyzing a room to identify valuable assets. The conversation highlights the importance of building authentic, long-term brand partnerships rather than seeking superficial sponsorships. The Podhouse group asserts that successful event attendance requires disciplined execution and a clear vision of what defines success before the trip even begins. Key Takeaways: Define exactly what success looks like before attending an event to ensure you achieve a measurable return on your investment of time and money. Develop a concise elevator pitch that clearly explains your value proposition to capture interest within the first few seconds of a conversation. Focus on building long-term, loyal partnerships with brands and collaborators rather than chasing short-term or superficial deals. Identify and lean into a specific niche to differentiate yourself from competitors and attract a more dedicated and relevant audience. Approach networking with intentionality by asking open-ended questions and proactively seeking out individuals who align with your strategic goals.

Eric shares a "debriefing" session following the maiden voyage of the Podhouse, a collaborative content creation initiative based at an Airbnb in Las Vegas. Podcasters Eric Triplet, Mike Garvey, Larry DelliSanti, and John Pajak evaluate their experiences at the ConExpo convention, specifically highlighting the success of their "booth takeovers" and the attention-grabbing power of their coordinated branding. The group discusses strategic improvements for future events, such as implementing a "leapfrog" team system to streamline filming and ensuring all creators utilize standardized equipment. They also reflect on the importance of formalized house rules and NDAs to maintain a professional environment during high-energy business trips. The group outlines a vision for the future where this mobile studio model creates high-value synergy between content creators and commercial brands. Key Takeaways: Collaborate with like-minded individuals to foster synergy and generate innovative ideas that benefit the entire group. Spend time observing and absorbing new environments before executing a plan to ensure your strategy is well-informed and effective. Set clear professional standards and formal expectations from the beginning of a partnership to prevent misunderstandings and maintain productivity. Utilize consistent and eye-catching branding to differentiate yourself and attract attention in highly competitive spaces. Document both your successes and failures after major projects to facilitate continuous improvement and better preparation for future endeavors.

Host Eric Triplet advocates for modern safety helmets as a superior alternative to traditional hard hats for contractors. The discussion highlights how new technology featuring chin straps and advanced impact-absorbing materials offers significantly better protection against brain injuries and falls. James from Caco America explains that these helmets are designed to be cooler and more versatile than older models, accommodating various job site accessories. While some workers resist the change due to aesthetics or comfort, the sources emphasize that safety and longevity are more important than tradition. Key Takeaways: Switch to modern safety helmets with chin straps to ensure your head protection stays in place during falls or unexpected impacts. Choose Type 2 protectors instead of traditional hard hats to provide safety for the front, back, and sides of your head rather than just the top. Replace your safety helmets every two to three years to prevent the degradation of protective materials caused by constant UV exposure. Opt for helmets that use advanced cooling technologies rather than styrofoam insulation to significantly reduce heat stress while working outdoors. Prioritize long-term health and the goal of returning home to your family over following old traditions or worrying about looking cool on the job site.
Most people believe their email list is the problem. They see low open rates, few clicks, and weak sales, so they assume their list is full of the wrong people—freeloaders who signed up for a freebie but will never buy.So they blame the audience. But in most cases, the list isn't broken. The real problem isn't who is on your list. It's how the emails are being sent. Change the approach, and the same list can become a powerful sales engine. That's where the CVP framework comes in: consistency, variety, and persistence. When you use these three elements together, more people see your emails, pay attention to your message, and eventually decide to buy.Useful Episode ResourcesFREE list of the top 10 books to improve your email marketingIf you want to write better emails, come up with better content, and move your readers to click and buy, here's how. Delete These Subscribers Now Why a Smaller Email List Makes You More Money If you've followed me for any length of time, you know I've built my entire business on the fact that your email list is everything. I've been saying it for 17 years. Grow your list. Nurture your list. The money is in the list. So what I'm about to say might shock you. I want you to delete people from your email list. Not one or two. Hundreds. Maybe thousands. I know. Coming from me, that sounds almost blasphemous. But here's what's 100% true… that list you've worked so hard to build might actually be working against you. A big list full of people who never open, never click, and never engage isn't the asset you think it is. It's dragging down your open rates, destroying your deliverability, and sneakily convincing Gmail to send your emails straight to spam. Every single time you hit send, those lurker subscribers are making it harder for the people who actually want to hear from you to see your emails. A few years ago, I was looking at our email metrics and something wasn't adding up. We had a solid list size, but our open rates were tanking and our launches weren't performing the way they should have. That's when we got serious about something that should have had our focus from the start: list health. What we learned flipped our entire approach on its head. In this episode, I'm walking you through exactly what we did, how to know who's worth fighting for and who's dead weight, and why a smaller, cleaner list will make you more money than a bloated one ever will. RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: You've built something real. A six-figure business, an audience, and offers that work. But revenue still feels harder to predict than it should. The Revenue Consistency Formula is a free live training for established female founders who have built momentum but are tired of inconsistent results. In this training, I'll break down what's quietly out of sync, and how alignment turns scattered effort into more predictable revenue. If you're ready for predictable revenue, you can save your seat here. My Newsletter and Nurture Funnel Revenue Consistency Formula Free Training Kit Kajabi Active Campaign MailChimp Flodesk HERE ARE THE 3 KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM THIS EPISODE: 1️⃣ Disengaged Subscribers Drag Down Your Entire List — Email providers like Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook track engagement. When a large percentage of your list ignores your emails, that affects your reputation with providers. Your emails land in spam folders or get buried in the promotions tab. This affects everyone, including your most loyal subscribers. 2️⃣ Use the 90-Day Rule to Identify Your Quiet Quitters — Create a segment of subscribers who have been on your list for at least 90 days, but haven't opened an email in 90 days and haven't purchased in 90 days. These are the people who have had plenty of opportunities to engage and consistently haven't. That's your starting point for a re-engagement campaign. 3️⃣ A Clean List Is More Profitable Than a Big List — Once you remove the people who never open, your metrics finally tell you the truth. You can see what subject lines actually work, what content resonates, and what offers get traction. You stop second-guessing your strategy based on numbers that were being skewed by people who were never going to engage anyway. And your launches become more predictable because you're measuring what's real. Email marketing might be the most boring topic in the music industry… and also the most profitable. PRESENTED BY LANDR - get.landr.com/otherrecordlabels In this episode, Scott breaks down why email lists remain the most powerful marketing tool for record labels and indie artists — even in a world obsessed with TikTok, reels, and algorithms. In this episode, I break down why that conversation is usually way more nuanced than most people realize. I walk through what hematocrit actually is, why testosterone raises it, and why a higher number on paper does not automatically mean something is dangerous. We talk about how hydration status, sauna use, cardio, lab timing, sleep apnea, insulin resistance, inflammation, and metabolic health all change what that number really means in the real world. I also explain why I think routine blood donation is often overused in men on TRT and how it can create its own problems by driving down iron and ferritin. Most importantly, I give you a practical framework for when I think hematocrit is usually a non-issue, when it deserves more attention, and what I would adjust before ever jumping straight to phlebotomy. This is a deeper dive into one of the most misunderstood topics in testosterone therapy, and my goal is to help you think about it with a much better framework.

Eric interviews Andrew Strobel, an R&D lead from Vermeer, during the ConExpo trade show in Las Vegas. The discussion highlights a groundbreaking partnership with Interlune to develop robotic trenching technology designed to excavate lunar soil, known as regolith. By adapting terrestrial engineering for low-gravity environments, the project aims to eventually extract Helium-3 from the moon's surface for energy purposes. The conversation explores technical hurdles such as traction and soil density, while noting how NASA-related expertise influences the company's innovation. This episode illustrates how decades of construction experience on Earth are being utilized to push the boundaries of space exploration. Key Takeaways: Adopt a mindset of constant and never-ending improvement to consistently level up your personal and professional life. Embrace experimentation by testing as many ideas as possible to identify what truly works for your business. Seek out strategic partnerships and collaborations to solve complex problems and access expertise outside your own field. Invest in yourself through dedicated training, coaching, and resources to master essential skills like sales and leadership. Challenge yourself to think beyond current limitations and set ambitious goals that push the boundaries of what you believe is possible.

There may come a point in your coaching business where on paper, everything is going pretty well. You have clients. You're getting results. Your niche “makes sense.” And yet… Something feels off. In this episode, I'm talking about what it really means when you start to feel like you've outgrown your coaching niche — and how to evolve without blowing up your website, scrapping your SEO, or having a full identity crisis. Because here's the truth: Outgrowing a niche isn't failure. It's often growth. I walk you through: The subtle signs you're feeling misaligned (resentment, depletion, creative boredom) Why niching is about clarity — not a life sentence How I personally test new ideas and programs without rebranding everything The difference between being pushed by frustration and pulled by expansion Why you're absolutely allowed to have more than one niche And how your coaching identity — not your niche — is the real anchor in your business I also share how this evolution has shown up in my own work over the years — from burnout coaching to alcohol work, to life transitions, to business coaching — and how I've allowed multiple niches to coexist under one consistent brand and philosophy. And if you're feeling the pull toward a new niche but questioning whether you have the skill set or confidence to support a broader range of clients, this is exactly why I created the Confident Coaching Skills Intensive (CCSI). The CCSI is designed to deepen your coaching confidence so you're not limited by one narrow topic. It helps you expand your range, coach more flexibly, and trust yourself in new territory — so when you feel that evolution happening, you can move toward it intelligently instead of reactively. Enrolment is closing soon, and it's a small, intimate room. If this episode resonates, that might be your sign. Bottom line? You don't need to burn your business down because you're bored. But you also don't need to ignore the boredom. It might be the beginning of your next great coaching offer. Episode Resources:

Eric interviews Steve Weldon, a product specialist from Vermeer, during the ConExpo trade show in Las Vegas. The conversation focuses on the technical advantages of mini skid steers, highlighting features such as chariot-style platforms for operator safety and toolless access panels for easy maintenance. Triplet openly shares his contractor regret over previously purchasing a competitor's machine, noting that Vermeer's versatile attachments and superior lift capacity make them ideal for tight residential jobsites. The episode also emphasizes the high resale value and durability of these machines, positioning them as essential investments for growing trade businesses. Key Takeaways: Research and select equipment that specifically fits your operational needs, such as compact machinery designed for navigating tight residential spaces. Prioritize tools and machinery that offer easy, toolless maintenance to minimize downtime and prevent messy repairs while on a client's property. Evaluate the safety and stability features of your equipment, focusing on designs that protect the operator and provide stability on uneven terrain. Consider the long-term resale value and durability of a brand before making a significant investment in new business assets. Join professional communities or peer groups to exchange industry insights, collaborate with colleagues, and maintain accountability for your growth.

Send Jackie A Message! In this episode, Jackie Murphy breaks down why 40% of your studio's revenue should be coming from your email list, why most studio owners are dramatically underusing this channel, and the exact identity shift required to go from "I don't want to bother people" to becoming a CEO who uses email to lead and generate revenue. Eric introduces Podhouse, a strategic initiative described as a mobile content creation war room designed to amplify industry events. Moving beyond traditional podcasting, this project utilizes remote studio hubs to capture deep, authentic conversations that typically occur off-camera during trade shows and conferences. By documenting these interactions in long-form and short-form media, the creators aim to build a lasting digital legacy for contractors, brands, and innovators. The movement focuses on networking and authority positioning, transforming fleeting event moments into year-round marketing momentum. Ultimately, Podhouse serves as an off-hours epicenter where industry leaders collaborate to elevate the visibility of blue-collar businesses across the country. Key Takeaways: Immediately document your insights and lessons learned from major events to ensure they become long-term assets rather than forgotten notes in a drawer. Seek out "off-hours" opportunities for deep, meaningful conversations that go beyond the surface-level networking found on a trade show floor. Collaborate with peers and industry leaders to create an "amplification engine" that increases visibility and authority for everyone involved. Develop a strategic content plan that turns temporary, high-energy moments into lasting stories that resonate with your audience all year round. Actively engage with your professional community by showing up to events, supporting others, and sharing your unique perspective to help elevate the entire industry.
