Prep vs. Hudson Catholic has been one of the best rivalries not only in the county but in the state as well. Everyone will remember where they were when Richie Rosa '26 hit the game-winning 3 pointer to defeat the Hawks 76-74. What a night it was and while mother nature played havoc for the week in forcing cancellation of contests and rescheduling of them, it resulted in another Jersey City Championship for the track guys, the wrestling team destroying PCTI, and a perfect week for our Basketball squad. When I can grab the file from school, I will place the text version into the show notes, of what Kimberly tells us in this podcast, so Kimberly can also read her part in this awesome episode. When I get back into class, I will double-check the names of the contributors below. In this episode, we have: Daniel Ambrose, Maureen Wacha, Principle Antonio Garcia, Principle Joaquim Johnson, Billy Vacca, Andrew JonesStudents: Kimberly Laveriano, Andres Fuentes, Elizabeth Hervias, Jennifer Priegue, Leslie Martinez, Jamie Kivelier, Camila Vasquez, Margaret Dela Cruz, Fiona Solter, Kenneth Tello, Vincent Colella, Ashley Matos, Jaylen Rizzo, Nathan Bavaro, Katherine Jiminez, Anazuy Guzman, and Emily Javier.Students of the Month: Grace Tang and Shahriyar AhmedIn a show such as this, we truly begin to see who it is we are teaching and guiding in life. In today's show, Sarah brings us insight into the annual Golf Scholarship Classic, which raises money for the Education Foundation. This October also saw the return of the Annual Car Show. For the 4th year running, we saw an ever-growing ensemble of classic and custom cars and other vehicles on the grounds of PCTVS. Evelyn Samtak breaks down this amazing event. With so many involved, she lets us know just how much work goes into putting on such a special event.Students Claribel Garcia, Zhyiana Allen, Ian Steinberg and Alexander Ontaneda created wonderful audio soundscapes by using sound design techniques in Adobe Audition, with sounds they recorded by themselves using only their phones. We looked at how sound is layered, and the subtleties of what audio is present in a coffee shop, train station or airport. The students had to recreate each of these environments, using only the available nosies in the classroom and at home, then edit them accordingly to make it sound and feel right. We also hear the great work created by two of the Saturday Academy students as they make show intros for their very own podcast.

Today we talk with Imoni Brooks, a former student of mine from 2017. She came to PCTVS (formerly known as PCTI) to interview for the high school podcast. But since we can only use about 5-7 minutes of her interview, I thought it would be nice to post her entire interview here on the "Inspiration by Design" podcast that I began earlier in the year. We asked Imoni lots of thoughtful questions from current students from PCTVS. From, how do you handle the stress from day to day, to are you doing anything now, that you never expected that you would be doing, to how did you begin your clothing line and more. The scariest question as a teacher, for me, was "How did you like Jones as a teacher?" THAT was a tough one to listen to... So come follow along and listen to a student that I am extremely proud of. And let's watch her career as she rockets from her place in high school, to college and beyond! Her 5-7 minute segment will be posted on the high school podcast in the coming days, and you will be able to find that show at the link below, sometime this week. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/tech-talk-passaic-county-technical-vocational-schools/id1461682612 Imoni's Business Social Info: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/blkmerm.movement/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/blkmerm.movement Website: http://blkmerm.storenvy.com/
