This week, we recap Chapters 15 through 18 and then get into the moment where this story really flips the table. What looked simple at first starts getting a whole lot messier, and we spend time unpacking what happens when the version of the truth everyone accepted begins to fall apart. As secrets come out, the conversation shifts into betrayal, loyalty, and how quickly a false story can ruin lives when the wrong person gets blamed. We talk about how this stretch of the book redefines who the real threat is, what the Marauders' history adds to everything, and why this part of the story hits so hard emotionally. We also dig into the larger idea underneath it all: how broken systems, half-truths, and fear can make justice almost impossible to find.

With the Harry Potter reboot officially on the way, the Wizarding World might finally have what it's been missing all along… a consistent foundation. For years, fans have been asking for a Marauders series—James, Sirius, Lupin, Peter, Lily, Snape… the story feels like a no-brainer. So why hasn't it happened yet? Today, we're breaking down the real reason a Marauders show has never quite worked before… and why the upcoming HBO reboot might finally change everything. From inconsistent film canon, to missing lore, to the deeper story between James and Snape, this is the key piece the Wizarding World has been missing—and why a Marauders series might actually make sense now. Could this be the beginning of a true Harry Potter expanded universe?
Mantic Games is currently taking pre-orders for two new 10mm armies for the Epic Warpath sci-fi wargame: the Veer-Myn and the Marauders. The Marauder Core Army, provided in high-detailed plastic, brings infantry and armored vehicles like Hammer Assault Tanks, while resin Marauder Reinforcements add heavy firepower, air support, and the massive Wolfcrawler Mech. Similarly, the Veer-Myn Core Army includes burrowing units like Stalkers and Tunnelers, built from ramshackle technology. Veer-Myn Reinforcements add monstrous units such as Brood Guard and Night Terrors, along with the large, weapon-bristling Technonest miniature. Financially-troubled publisher CMON plans to resume crowdfunding activities in the second half of 2026, following annual losses that soared to $19.9 million in 2025. This recent loss contributed to $23 million in losses across 2024 and 2025, prompting an independent auditor to question the company’s ability to continue as a “going concern”. CMON's directors maintain that the company is sustainable, citing financial support from directors and proceeds from the sale of its Singapore office and a recent share sale. The company’s liabilities are largely due to eight undelivered crowdfunding campaigns—including DC Super Heroes United and DCeased, now slated for Q4 2026—and five undelivered pre-order campaigns. CMON's new strategy focuses on reducing large-scale crowdfunding exposure, pivoting toward growth in the Asian market, and maintaining a streamlined operation with a reduced headcount. Free League announced an expansion of its Free Tabletop License (FTL) to cover five of its core role-playing games: Dragonbane, Forbidden Lands, Symbaroum, Coriolis: the Great Dark, and Coriolis: The Third Horizon. This royalty-free, irrevocable open game license permits third-party creators to publish their own adventures and supplements for these titles. Free League stated that this move will benefit the longevity and popularity of the games and the broader community. Furthermore, the expanded license supports third-party publication not just in English, but also in several other languages, including French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Portuguese. Free League Workshop also announced Fomoria RPG, an upcoming folk horror game created in partnership with award-winning designers Tania Herrero and Johan Nohr, the co-creator of MORK BORG. Described as a game of “epic horror,” Fomoria is set in a dark, subterranean world where the sun is a myth and players navigate the “living, breathing labyrinth of shifting tunnels” known as the Strata. The game uses a modified MORK BORG engine and offers options for players to take on the role of subterranean creatures in a world “built of monsters and bones”. Host: Logan Parker Producer: Glen Mittelhauser In this episode, Logan introduces listeners to the robber flies—voracious predatory insects with names like “marauder,” “bandit,” and “thief”—and describes their surprising diversity in Maine, from garden-perching hammertails to the formidable marauders of the pine barrens. He also highlights their ecological value, noting how these agile hunters help keep insect populations in balance despite their fearsome reputation. More information about Maine Natural History can be found at mainenaturalhistory.org. About the hosts: Glen Mittelhauser founded Maine Natural History Observatory (MNHO) in 2003 to fill the need for an organization that specializes in collecting, interpreting, and maintaining datasets for understanding changes in Maine's plant and wildlife populations. Glen received his Bachelor's in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in 1989 with a focus in the biological sciences and received his Master of Science degree in Zoology (with a focus on ornithology and statistics) from the University of Maine in 2000. Glen was the Managing Editor for Northeastern Naturalist and Southeastern Naturalist for 18 years and has served as external graduate faculty for 3 graduate student committees at the University of Maine. Glen currently serves on the Baxter State Park Research Committee. Logan Parker is an Ecologist residing in Waldo County, Maine. Logan started the Maine Nightjar Monitoring Project in 2017 and brought the project (and his passion for bird conservation) to MNHO when he joined the team in 2018. Logan is heavily involved in the ongoing Maine Bird Atlas where he both coordinates and participates in the project's special species surveys. When “off the clock”, Logan enjoys birding, writing, gardening, and working alongside his wife, Hallee, on their off-grid home in the Maine woods. Logan is also a wildlife photographer and shares photos and field notes through his project, Here In The Wild. Caomh McGillion briefly stops by to help Cam sum up Bruce Willis' 30 VOD & Limited Release Movies prior to his retirement. Which initial ones were rather reasonable B-movies/unofficial DIE HARD sequels? Which ones easily rivaled the most infamous Steven Seagal/Mel Gibson/John Travolta/Sylvester Stallone/Eric Roberts/Mickey Rourke movies of late? How did the producer of NARC/LONE SURVIVOR/THE IRISHMAN orchestrate such a ponzi scheme with these bottom-of-the-barrel Action flicks? Were any of the other ensemble comedies & mystery flicks surprisingly well-done despite only having Bruce in a brief part? All that and a proper farewell to one of cinema's once popular stars! The Potter Discussion: Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and the Wizarding World Fandom
Send us a textIn this episode, we discuss Netflix acquiring HBO and Warner Bros., and what that means for the TV show. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:· 1:40 They need this money back. Netflix is going to invest in some big projects to make the 82.7 billion back. Harry Potter is already in production, and it will attract a huge fan base. They would be smart to keep this show in the works.· 7:24 Is the show going to change? In a dystopian media overlord world, the answer would be yes. But I think we still live in a world with some creative freedom, I don't think Netflix will step in and make any changes. I hope….· 13:53 Spinoffs! Netflix has a whole bunch of money and we can hope for more HP content on top of the TV show. Marauders? Hogwarts founders? Voldemort? Dumbledore? Dare we say: Fantastic Beasts?Having anything you want to hear or say? Click here for a voice submission or here for text. ThePotterDiscussion@gmail.comthepotterdiscussion.comNox
