It’s set to be a big week for watchers of the larger U.S. economy — Fed Chair Jerome Powell will testify to Congress on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the February jobs report comes out Friday. We spoke with economist Julia Coronado about what we should expect in the week ahead. Vehicles, a good that enjoyed high demand and high prices during the peak of the pandemic, are now in lower demand partly because of elevated interest rates and inflation-weary consumers. And, a look at why some big cities in France are banning electronic billboards.

Mike and Dan look back at a the Islanders' three big wins last week and look ahead at the NHL trade deadline while it's actively happening. With victories over the Penguins and Jets, the Islanders re-established themselves as a playoff contender and actually managed to look like their old selves for one of the few times all season. That they melted a few Pittsburgh beat writer brains made it even more fun. But their makeshift lineup won't cut it for too long, and despite already having Bo Horvat, they'll need some pickups. The second half is dedicated to this week's trade deadline. Names like Timo Meier and Patrick Kane are either already or almost gone but there are some players out there that might help the Islanders get a little stronger for a possible playoff run. The best thing about this interminable trade deadline is that it's almost over. Preorder your triple player “Line Change” Bobblehead today from the fine folks at FOCO. Summary: We have a big week ahead—with the potential for lots of turmoil—and John Rubino joins us in this episode to discuss what we can expect out of it. Three big central banks are having meetings this week and are supposed to raise interest rates. This implies the potential for surprise, and to induce one of two outcomes: sending the markets into a relief rally or sending stocks crashing. With uncertainty of what the outcome of these meetings will bring, there has undoubtedly been a shrinkage of trust amongst individuals. People are growing hesitant to trust larger systems, seeking out ways to attain food, education, and healthcare not mandated by the government and large corporations. With money being one of the largest systems of all, many are investigating alternatives to help secure their capital in the event that the system fails us. Tune in for more insight. ⭐ Casus Belli Podcast pertenece a 🏭 Factoría Casus Belli.
