In this interview, Carson Reed shares how leveraging the qualities of his neurodiversity has advanced his career of choice – 3D animation and film. Diagnosed earlier in life with autism spectrum disorder, he has found that his neurodiverse qualities empower him to think differently and have proven to provide significant advantages in his personal and professional life. He also describes some of his childhood experiences, the triggers that bother him the most, and how he copes with them. Carson is a brilliant, young cinematic animator. His company is CinemaMotions. He is already making his mark in the world of motion pictures as one of the top people in his field. He describes himself as a 3D animator and Motion Capture Actor. This career started while he was in high school. He describes what he does as “creating stories through 3D animated characters and CGI worlds.” He has mastered many of the programs needed to excel in this genre and is making tutorial videos to help others using his “weirdly good” memory. In addition, Carson's hobbies include guitar, gaming, and connecting with his friends.
Kenneth Nakada is the Head of Virtual Production Operations at Amazon Studios. He was instrumental in Amazon's efforts to build an LED volume in Hollywood, which became one of the largest in North America when it opened in 2022. Before Amazon, Nakada worked as a visual effects supervisor and artist on movies like Avatar, The Matrix Revolutions, Terminator 3, and X-Men. But a far earlier special effects film got him interested in filmmaking as a career.

Paul Debevec is the Director of Research for Creative Algorithms and Technology at Netflix. A pioneer in new techniques such as photogrammetry and image-based lighting, Debevec's work formed the basis of breakthrough visual effects for movies like The Matrix, Spider-Man, and Avatar.
Christian Kaestner began his career as an art director at leading advertising agencies, crafting unique work for clients such as Sony and Adobe. After working with high-profile clients to create beautiful, memorable imagery he pivoted to VFX in the mid-2000s. He graduated from San Francisco's Academy of Art University with a Masters of Fine Arts in 3D Animation and Visual Effects and launched his VFX career with The Orphanage, before joining Framestore in 2007. Since then, he has worked on a wide variety of projects including The Dark Knight, Quantum of Solace, Where The Wild Things Are, Avatar and the Oscar-winning Gravity. Christian made the move to Montreal in 2013 and quickly established himself as a key member of the studio's senior team, supervising titles such as Paddington, Alien: Covenant, Mary Poppins Returns, Captain Marvel, The Aeronauts, and the BAFTA-winning His Dark Materials. His most recent project is 1899, a major episodic project for Netflix utilizing Europe's largest LED volume facility. Here he led a team spanning concept art, visualization, virtual production and VFX. We talk about the process of creating an animated commercial, how there's actually more room for creativity in commercials than you think, and how there's a surprising amount of VO in short form animation, at least, surprising to me. Plus, we get into Anik's journey to becoming an animator from growing up in Lithuania to being one of the first to study 3D Animation, to coming to Canada for formal education and his influences from independent shorts to Ren and Stimpy. In this episode, Wágner interviews serial entrepreneur and technological creative, Carlos Phoenix. Over the years, Phoenix, launched a career as an illustrator in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Genre, and then entered the Hollywood Film Industry. Specializing in Paste-Up Mechanicals, he did Advertising for magazines and newspapers like Wells, Rich & Greene at age 15. During his college years, Phoenix began working in film production, when he was drawing in a NYC subway where a person working on a film asked if he could do storyboards. Eventually he was hired to build sets and set dress which developed for over 17 years all while continuing to paint sci-fi illustrations. Attending both the Fashion Institute of Technology as well as, The School Of Visual Arts Phoenix soon left to become a 3D Animation Producer. Early on, way before 3D Animation films were big for Hollywood.
