Unfortunately, gratitude can sometimes be very complicated. And the feeling of thankfulness doesn’t always come naturally to everyone. On today’s episode of Life Made Simple, I explore a little bit of the science behind gratitude. And for those of you out there who might occasionally struggle with feeling grateful, I offer you a few ideas that might help. Subscribe! Many of us go in to medicine because we "just really want to help people." Right? Be honest, you said that in your medical school interview. Some days, when you are drowning under the EMR and you patient just won't get better, its hard to see how one is helping much of anyone. Well, not for Dr. Sutton, who is "doing the right thing" in her community by providing free care to the uninsured and underinsured. Find out more about Surgery on Sunday Louisville here.

This podcast is here to give you the answer. Join me, and follow along, as I learn, apply and share marketing strategies to grow my online business, using only today's best internet sales funnels. My name is Steve Larsen and welcome to Sales Funnel Radio. What's up guys? Hopefully everyone's doing great. I've been outside today, it's a Saturday, putting together this episode. Been outside. A lot of you guys might know this, actually, most of you probably don't: I actually really like yard work, which sounds weird, as a teenager I would have never said that in my life. But I do. I was the oldest, which meant I did a lot of the yard work. Oldest of six kids, so growing up I did a lot of yard work. And for a while I hated it and then, realize though, for whatever reason now, especially too, it's almost therapeutic, for me to just get outside, work with my hands. Almost all my jobs growing up were labor jobs; physical labor jobs, things like that. I like working with my hands. Anyway, so I was outside, I just chopped a tree down in our backyard, which is awesome, I'm doing a whole bunch of stuff. Anyway, I'm fixing our pond, a lot of stuff. I really love doing that kind of stuff. Anyway, I was outside just a few minutes ago, maybe like two hours ago, but I was outside. I was mowing the lawn, I was trimming the hedges, all the stuff I... Usually I'll either listen to music and just zone out, which typically for me is just as advantageous as me listening to a chorus: the chance to have nothing going on in my head and just let my mind drift. And that's one of the reasons why I like it so much. Anyway, so I was out there and out of the corner of my eye, I saw the most incredible opportunity start walking up to me. I love it when this happens. There was a door-to-door salesman, he was walking on up, all awkward like. We saw each other, he was trying to ... does he call out from far away? Does he kind of sneak on up? I love talking to door-to-door salesman because I was one, right? So he starts walking up, and I'm listening to Foo Fighters. I'm blasting Foo Fighters, I'm trimming up the sides and stuff, and I'm just ... I was thinking ... I was thinking about a lot of different stuff. I was thinking, you know I'm a full-time nerd, and I'm very proud of it. I was thinking about offer creation and different things like that. Anyway, bunch of fun... Anyways, he walks on up, and he hands me this flyer. He just, I hate it when people just put things directly into my hands. Most people will take it, I don't. Whenever I'm in the mall, or whatever, and someone just walks by and just hands something to me, I don't take it. I put my hands up, I'm like, "What is this?" Anyway, so I did that... I was like, "Well, what is it?" He goes, and he starts talking. He's like, "Well, yeah, I do spot removal on like carpets, things like that. We're going to be here real soon, and want to see who else in the area wants to get it." I was like, "Sweet, that was very similar to the pitch I used to give, and it worked really, really well." And I was thinking about it, I was like oh my gosh, this is so cool. My wife and I just barely were talking about how we want our carpets cleaned. Right, we've lived in this house for a year now, we should clean the carpets, you know. We got a new little one on the way, in like a month, and ... Or month and a half-ish. We're just trying to prep things around the house. This our third kid, we know everything kind of goes into a coma. You're just trying to survive the first month or two with a newborn. Sort of like, hey, we should have the carpets cleaned. Oh, sweet. That's awesome, do you do full service? And he said, "Yes, yes, I do actually." I said, "Cool, how much do you charge?" And he told me very briefly in just like one sentence what it was that he does, what's different about him, and how much he charges, and I was like, gosh, thank you for getting right to the point. I'm asking a buying question. The guy identified it, and he immediately gave me a very fast answer of what I wanted, and let me started asking the questions. And finally, which is super cool, because he did not turn around, and he did not lead with his, he did not lead with this super expensive thing. And even then it wasn't actually that much money. He's gonna clean the carpets, and such, soon. And I almost was selling him on it, 'k ... He lead with what was the lowest barrier thing that he had, spot removal. Right, it's not an even full out carpet cleaning. Spot removal, that's it. That's what he was doing, and if you think about it. That's really fascinating. We're talking about different value ladder steps, right? Selling this really high ticket thing in the backend, that's awesome, but usually you got to sell it to really hot people. Hot market, right? Middle of the value ladder stuff, that's more usually the core of your business, but if you lead with something that's super pricey you cut out this whole other market, right? Which is eventually why we will go, and we will start doing smaller ticket things. Well, when you're talking face to face with people, or even in a trip wire funnel, we don't lead out saying here's all the money that you're gonna spend in this funnel. We lead out with the smallest barrier, the lowest barrier, free, plus shipping. That's super low bare, even though the average car value could be 50, 60, 70, 80 bucks, right? Right, it is free if that's the only thing they get. That doesn't mean we're not gonna take the opportunity to pitch them on other stuff, right, but we're leading with the lowest barrier product we have.... Anyway, I started talking to the guy more. Turns out he and I actually had a lot of stuff in common. I did door-to-door for a long time, so, did he for a while. He's around my age, and he's like, "I was working for this other company, I graduated only a little bit ago, and I just got to do my own thing, so, I'm just doing carpet cleaning for people." And so, I was like, "Sweet, I can totally relate with that." He's like, "Yeah, I had a sweet job." I was like, "Ah, me too." I just got this thing inside of me says, go do your thing, and so, I did, and it's been freaky. Yeah, it totally freaky... Anyways, we start talking for a little while, and struck up a good conversation. Anyways, he's coming back. I'm totally gonna talk to him about funnel building. It's what I do. I always talk with people. Talk about that with people. Gonna get my haircut, I always talk to the haircut person about funnels usually. Anyway, so, here's the whole lesson though. This podcast maybe a little short. The lesson is ... I've been teaching a lot of people lately, right? Obviously, You guys know that one of the things that I ... One of my isms is to just publish. Just publish, and one of the reasons why, is this principle about just being present. Did this guy have to sell me at all on carpet cleaning? No, no, he didn't. He didn't have to sell me at all. I literally, I basically, sold him. I had to ask him like two times. So, you can just come do the full thing? He's like, "Yeah, totally." I was like, "Sweet, so, you will, when can you come by?" I was selling him, why, right? You have to understand that one of the things that's always shoved down our throats when I was a door-to-door sales guy is that, if we go out and we knock on a hundred doors a day, or if when I was doing telemarketing, if we called a hundred people a day, one or two of those people, of those hundred, there's just gonna be one or two that just say, yes, just because they're just interested naturally. They're just ... You didn't have to sell them. This is the part of the market who likes to buy stuff. This is the part of the market, who actually was just talking about getting something similar that you actually sell, something similar to that. Right? This is the part of the market who just, you know what, yeah, I would, sure, whatever, come on, do it. Does that make sense? There's this principle... There's this principle of just being present that I feel a lot of people miss. They get this façade of needing to be perfect. That's actually ... It's good enough to just be present to your market. You don't even have to be a hundred percent right. Your offer doesn't even need to be a hundred percent the best. Right, just being visible is huge power, massive power, and it's very, very important for people ... For example, right, I always tell you guys, right, go publish. Are you serious about this? You go publish. There's this correlation I'm finding between those who actually have successful funnels, and those who don't. Those who do, 90% of the time, they also, go figure, are also publishing regularly. Whether that's a podcast, a blog, whatever it is. They're regularly getting out there. Why?... Why? Even if I'm just putting this stuff out there, right now, this episode, this very one I'm recording right now. I know that it is getting in front of people. I'm getting about 500 downloads a day right now. I've got this cool strategy to go grow bigger, and I'm excited about that, but I've got this cool ... Right, I'm gonna go stay present. I'm staying in front of you right now, right? And I know that next episode, you are going to want to listen to it. It is incredible. It is an interview I did with somebody who is very prestigious. You guys all know who he is. He's an absolutely amazing. It ended up being an hour long. Tons of fun. I had lots of fun with him, right? Salting the oats, letting you guys know what's going on, but that's the very point of what I'm trying to make. Just being present, just being in front of people. There will be lay down sales. There will be people who walk up to you. That's the reason why I hardly ever work with a startup ever. The answer is pretty much always no. And the reason is because if someone is a startup, and they're not getting any sales, and they've never sold ever. To me that means that they're not even trying because if they're just being present to the market that they're trying to sell to, they should get with enough repetition some sales. With zero sales skill. With zero, even marketing ability. Just by finding people, talking to the right people, who are like, "You know what, yeah, I was thinking about carpet cleaning. Yeah, I was just talking about this. Yeah, totally." And I was like, "Price? Yeah, okay, let's do it awesome. Hey, can you come back in like six months?" He's like, "Yeah." He actually said 12 months. Oh, yeah, I'll come back in a year. I was like, "No, I want it faster than that. We've got kids. There's like ... Our Carpets are nasty a lot. Yeah, right. Come faster, right? I was selling him. How interesting is that? Think about this, right? We always teach, right? That a new offer, like a new opportunity, goes and it sells to the masses. An improvement based offer, sells to those who are ambitious, and since most people are not ambitious. We don't create improvement based offers. Right? We try and we go and create new opportunities, but you have to understand that just by being present, you will find people like myself, who are ambitious, and asking to be sold. Does that make sense? We always knew those people who were slacking off on the phone. Those people who are slacking off on the door ... Because there sales just totally stopped. Just by them walking around with this pest control badge on their shoulder, right? People would ask to buy. Right? Be seen. That's all I'm trying to tell you. Be seen. Be in front of people. Be there. Be visible... Right? Now, there might be a lot of people out there who are not quite at the opportunity ... The opportune moment in their mind to purchase. Right? They should buy from you. They should buy from you, but they're like it's not quite time yet. Right? I've got a few other people that are trying to sell me stuff right now, and I'm like, well, it's not quite time for me to get this. It's not quite time yet for me to do this. Right? But there's a huge market, right? Out there. Bigger than I know. I shouldn't say huge, but bigger than I realize, right? Who are the ambitious people, who are just gonna say yes, frankly because they know it's an improvement, frankly because the opportunity is there, frankly because we are just talking about getting our carpets cleaned. Is this making sense? Are you guys getting this? I hope it makes sense. And so, I'm like stop obsessing so much over the actual product, and just be out there talking about it, selling it, right? Even if the pitch isn't perfect. Who cares. Just be out doing it. Right? That will perfect your pitch faster than you sitting in a room days for doing it. Okay. It's funny because I'm in this cool place in my webinar building right now, where I'm actually recreating the entire thing. Okay, and that's what I've been doing basically this last week. I feel like my momentum has been a little bit slow, as far as output because I'm solely focusing on my webinar script. I am destroying it. I did it live quite enough times, talked to a lot of customers, talked to a lot of people realizing that, oh, my gosh, this is what they liked. This is what they didn't like. This is what they didn't buy. This is why they did buy, right? And understanding what those things really were. This is a progression beyond a simple ask campaign to people who have never bought from you. I'm talking with people who have bought from me, right? People who did start filling out their credit card, but end up pressing purchase, right? Those people. That's way more amazing data, and I'm going to them, right? And I've just been present. I know my pitch wasn't perfect, but my funnel is still limping on a single leg. I know it is. There's so much that's wrong with it, okay, but I've not obsessed over it so much yet... I know I will... I know it's gonna be amazing, but what I'm waiting for is this awesome blend between what I know people are struggling with, right? Not just there needs, but what they want, and what I'm offering, and the sales message that delivers that offer. And it's coming. It's real close, it's real close, okay? I just spent six hours yesterday going through and ripping apart my webinar. Ripping apart the script. Tearing apart my offer. I'm basically restructuring the entire thing. I'm very, very excited. Probably in like another week, we're gonna be gone for a little bit here, but probably in a week, I'm gonna turn back around, I'll redo the whole thing. All that mattered for me, phase number one though. Right? If you're like "Steven, I don't get it." When you say "Steven go out, Steven go out and just start selling first," but I don't have the product totally perfect yet. Another way to think about it is just go be present. Just be there when people are looking. Some of the power of publishing. Some of the power of you being out there, is just merely, right, just whenever their eyes look when they're like, okay, I'm finally ready. Okay, I'm looking. You know what? We just talked about how it'd be cool to do this, you know what I mean. You know what we talked about ... You know ... You know what I mean? Boy, if somebody walked around here and says "Hey, we do sprinkler service." I'm hiring them on the spot. Right? There's stuff I need done with the sprinklers. I know how to do it, I don't want to do it. Okay, I dug sprinkler trenches by hand for a whole summer. I put up false sprinkler lines up, that was, I know how to do it, I don't wanna. Okay, if some guy walks up, does that make sense? There are things that I see inside my life that I just not need, but also want. And same with you, and you're actually selling stuff, guys, it is ridiculous how many people are asking me for my product right now. Coming to me, asking me, without me selling them. That means I have found a want, not just a need. I am hitting directly on the pain point. I am hitting directly on the spot where it is an insatiable blue ocean. And just by me publishing, just by me being present, I am getting sales... That's the whole point. If you still have not had any sales yet, I dare say you are not present. No one knows about you. No one has any clue that you exist if you have zero sales and you have been in business for awhile. Just be visible... It doesn't matter if it's not perfect, it doesn't matter if it's not ... anyway... Okay, that's all I'm trying to say in this episode, be present. Okay. Publish. Okay. Be out there, be talking with people, be understanding who you're actually selling, okay. Your dream customer, not who could buy it, the dream person of who you want to buy it. Okay? And actually get intimate with that individual, understand who they are, understand that their needs, wants, and desires and go forward that way. Anyways, guys, hopefully this was helpful to you. Hopefully it simplified things and it's keeping you from, I don't want you to over complicate things. I don't want you to over ... okay, because there's a lot of stuff we teach, especially those of you guys who came in the Two Comma Club Coaching Program, the new batch that we just got, right? You guys represent my now twelve hundredth person, that I've taken through this process, okay? And understand that, the way the whole game is played, there's so much that we put out there, we know that. I don't want overwhelm to happen. Keep it simple, understand that just being visible with something imperfect is going to be so much better than waiting for something to be perfect. Every time, bar none, every time. Anyway, there's a cool book, just the title that even says what it, it's call "The Consuming Instinct". That's exactly what this is playing in to. I'm actually looking at it right now. But it's called "The Consuming Instinct," right? Just got it. Very, very excited to start reading through it. Right? This is another reason why you go and sell wants, because eventually you walk into somebody and they're like "Oh, yeah, I've been wanting that lately. Yeah, I really do. I've been looking for something like this." We've been looking to get our carpet cleaned. Right? It's a consuming instinct. People want to buy from you. So half you guys just aren't talking about your stuff enough, and being loud enough... Final thing I'll say, there was a teacher that I had, a professor that I had. He was one of my first real mentors. It was probably about four years ago. He and I were chatting', a lot of you guys heard me talking about him, he was the CMO of Denny's, and of Pizza Hut. He invented stuffed crust pizza. I was running a business at the time, we were doing three grand a week, and it was cool. You know, it was a fun business, it was like training wheels for me, for a lot of different things. Anyway, I started talking to him, and I was like, "Yeah, you know, I feel like I'm just annoying people from what what I'm doing. I'm saying the same things and I'm getting the same messages out there. And I feel like I'm just trying to annoy people." And he brought me to the side and he goes "You've got to start understand that like" ... It's funny that Russell started telling me this too, but this is the guy that I learned it from, and he goes, "You've to to understand that you're going to get so much more tired of your thing before other people. Like when you start being annoying, when you feel you're being annoying, that's when people are even starting to notice you exist. Right? You're gonna get tired of your stuff way before the market is, because the market really has no idea who you are for awhile. Right? You've got to shake them, you've to to grab their shoulders and say "I'm here." Right? I'm here. When you, right, even if there is no pitch or sale, right, you're just being open and present. Anyway, just know that this is going to happen to you, and expect it to. And if it's not that way, you're not marketing enough, right? I'm tired of the things that they teach over and over again. Okay? I am. But I know that people barely starting to know from me, or know me for what I do. So why the heck would I ever stop? Right? I'm just being present. It takes awhile for a whole mar...it takes, right? To think that an entire market will have your attention, too, is also ludicrous. It's ridiculous. I'm not gonna sway 100 percent of the market. To think that I'm going to have 100 percent of the market, that's not true. I'm just looking for my sliver, that I can go serve, that I can effect positively, that I can bless in their life. And in turn, they will support my life. Right? Like 90 percent of it is just getting out of the door and just talking about it. Just being where people are looking. Anyway, you guys are awesome. Thanks so much for listening and I appreciate you guys being on here. Hopefully you guys enjoyed the last podcast. That topic, oh man, Questions that Invite Revelations is one of my favorites. I got a sweet one coming up for you next, as well, It's ready, it's ready to rock. I'm just salting the oats, here, okay. Get ready to listen to it, it's very, very good. It's one to take out a piece of paper and listen with. It has blessed my life immensely. As soon as I learned what you guys are going to learn in the very next episode, I ran home and taught my wife, and I taught tons of people, because it was one of those things I learned that I said "Oh my gosh, this, this is life changing." And it has been already. So, anyway guys, thank you so much, and I'll see you on the next episode... Hey, thanks for listening. Please remember to rate and subscribe. Russell Brunson and Gary V have both said it's better to "Document and Sell", rather than simply just "Create and Sell"... SO! Watch me build my next personal webinar funnel LIVE... What's up everyone? This is Steve Larsen. You're listening to Sales Funnel Radio. Welcome to Sales Funnel Radio, where you'll learn marketing strategies to grow your online business using today's best internet sales funnels. And now here's your host, Steve Larsen. All right, all right. Hey, it's gonna be a fast episode. It's more of an announcement styled episode. Hey, a few episodes ago I finished a six part series where I went through each of the industry's, basically six different categories of businesses, that are using ClickFunnels. And honestly, pretty much every business that I know of fits in them. And it was fun because I went through each one of those categories, and went and I found a rock star that's killing it in each one of those areas. Now my whole ... I believe in a level of business karma. And I know that there are people out there who may not be in love with sales funnels the way I am, and that's totally fine. It's my thing. And you have a thing. I'm not asking you to take on my thing. All right? It's your peak. You stay at your peak. You be the best in the world. Stay on that peak. It's the reason I won't go learn Facebook ads. One day, Facebook won't be the hot shot stuff. You know what I mean? One day, there will be a new traffic source that's massive. Now it may not happen for a really long time. I don't know. But guess what I know is always going to be there? Funnels. Because it has to do with sales. And whether or not you meant to build one, you have a funnel. All right? Online or offline, you always have a funnel. Right? And so I decided to stay on this peak. Well so, I got these six different categories, and I've been thinking to myself how cool would it be if I went and I live built a funnel, that works really well in each of those six different categories? And so what I thought was now I don't know how long this will take. I don't know the timeline. If it's gonna be really, it's gonna be all over the place. But I'm going to ... Anyway, I believe that if I just keep pumping value into the marketplace, value always comes back. And every time I've ever done that, it's always true. And so I thought how cool would it be ... What if I was to build a Webinar Funnel live for everyone? You know? And I probably wouldn't give the funnel away for free because every time I build them, they take a solid ten hours. You know? I'm not just gonna give that for free. I'd charge for it. But it wouldn't be a lot. It'd just be a little bit. But how cool would it be if I went and I built an application style funnel the way that I know they work? How cool would it be if I went and I built an E-commerce funnel the way that I know that they work? MLM the way I know that they work? You know what I mean? Each one of the industries, go through it. Retail. Back and forth, and back and forth, and I actually built live. And you guys could come join me and watch, and ask questions, and stuff. That's freakin' awesome. That would be a lot of fun. Anyway. So that's what I'm thinking. And I'm thinking it'd be a lot of fun. And so I guess the, I don't know if you want this kind of lesson or whatever with this. If you can include people in the act of your own craft. Whatever your specialty is, if you can include people in that, you're really ... You guys know it was in the movie, "Hitch." Right? In the movie, "Hitch," there's that scene where Will Smith goes and he makes dinner with the chef. You know what I mean? With his date and his date's boss. Right? And he goes, and he's there, and he's cooking the food with him. The chef is including them in the process of making the food. That's why they're there for the process. The more you can do that, and unveil, and show behind the curtains of what it is that you actually do, and peel back the curtain, and show like hey, this is how I do what I do. People fall in love with you like that. And so I guess that's me just being vulnerable just telling you that's my goal is to help you see exactly what I do, and why I do it. And so what I'm thinking is I ... Anyway, I think the way I'm gonna do this ... I had this idea just a few days ago. And I think I'm gonna do it. Where I think we'll have it where if you go to salesfunnelbroker.com/live, salesfunnelbroker.com/live. I used to have it all building, or I'd build live on a different platform, but I kinda want to keep it all in the Sales Funnel Broker platform, that I've already got there. By the way, there's the equivalent of thousands, and thousands, and thousands, and thousands of opt-ins. There's so many people, that have downloaded free funnels off of that site, which is awesome. But that's the reason I built is just to give tons of value away. But I kinda need to revamp it. I built that over a year ago now, and I need to get that a little bit more. I need to update it. So I thought how cool would it be if I actually included you in the update. And if I go rebuild kind of the bank of funnels that's there as well as all of the stuff that is given. So I'm gonna start with a Webinar Funnel. And I'm gonna do it I think on September 30th, this Saturday. And I'll get up, and so right now by the time you hear this episode, this will be up. Go to salesfunnelbroker.com/live. And what I want you to do is you can opt in. And what you're opting in for is basically I'm gonna make that page basically a webinar registration page. And what you're gonna do is you're gonna be able to register for a live funnel build with me, and with whoever else wants to watch. And you can follow through, and do the same thing that I'm doing. Now I'm not there to train each aspect of ClickFunnels, or to give massive orientation. So I'm gonna go my normal speed. And I'll play some music. And I'll explain what I'm doing as I'm doing it. And it'll be a lot of fun. Like they're just funnels I want to build anyway. I love what I do. But just know that I'm doing it for a specific purpose, for specific reasons. And I thought hey, how cool would it be if I just, I don't know, if you want to join. So, and then what I thought would be kinda cool was if I posted the replays underneath. And you can get the full replay when, and the funnel that I built. You know? And I'll charge. But it's not gonna be a ton. But these will be prebuilt funnels based on how I know that it works. So I've built almost 300 sales funnels now for ClickFunnels in the last year and a half. I built a crap ton of funnels. I literally have dreamt in the Editor, the ClickFunnels Editor. You know what I mean? Anyway. So this is kinda a fast episode, but I thought I'd give that announcement, that this could be kinda neat. That if you want go to ... And I'll always, I'll have you opt in so for the purpose of me being able to go and announce when the next funnel building live session is. So the first one will start with the Webinar Funnel. But then we'll go on to the next one. Right? Be an E-commerce funnel. Then we might go onto the next on. It might be a ... You know what I'm saying? And I thought how freakin' cool would that be to include you guys in that process. You can see, number one what I'm doing. Number two though, I actually give you the funnel, that you were watching me build. Like that's freakin' awesome. With all the little tricks, and all the little things that I do, and all the little ninja stuff, that we know works. And I mean that's freakin' cool. So anyway, whenever you're ... Think about your own business right now. What can you do to include your customers, and your prospective customers, or your following, or whoever. In the process of your craft include them in your craft. It's your art. You know what I mean? And don't be afraid if people are gonna steal your art. That's not at all what this is. So I wouldn't be too nervous about that. So all right guys, number one let me know if that's sweet 'cause I think it's, I think it'd be awesome. Just know that it's gonna be a several month project. It's not like it's gonna be I'll drip this out as I have time to, which is very limited. But I'm gonna start with the Webinar Funnel, and I'm gonna do it on September 30th. If you're gonna ... If you hear this episode afterward, it's probably already up. So you can probably go check it out. Again that's salesfunnelbroker.com/live. I'm gonna revamp that entire thing. But for right now, that's how we're gonna do it. So yeah, I think that's how we'll do it. All right guys, cool. That's all this episode is. Just a little fast. A little invitation announcement. And the reason that I'm doing it is because we've learned that when you actually show people what it is behind the scenes that you're doing, you're sales go up like crazy because you're answering all these beliefs inside their head, that might have been false. You're rebuilding belief patterns without them even asking. For example, Funnel Fridays. Right? Funnel Fridays is something that Russell puts together with Jim Edwards who's the creator of Funnel Scripts. Last year that made millions, and millions of dollars. Several multi-millions by doing nothing else other than showing how Funnel Scripts works in those 30 minute little funnel building segments. You see what I'm saying? That's exactly why I'm doing it. So I'm gonna go through and I'm gonna show you guys what I do. That's my skill. That's my art, and my craft, and the thing that I love doing. And so I thought hey, might as well show you what I'm actually doing. And I've got another 200 funnels to build in the next few weeks here, which is ridiculous. I don't know if I'm gonna make it. But it kinda stresses me out to be honest. But how the heck can Steve Larsen do it that fast? Well I'm gonna show you, and then I'll give you the option to be able to get the actual funnel, that you're watching me build. And you can follow along with it, anyway. So be prepared for a five, six hour build. Okay. It's gonna be long. And we'll have the whole thing ... I'll have the whole thing recorded for you for your pleasure. So all right guys, I'll talk to you later. Again, go to salesfunnelbroker.com/live.

I am Brian Marc Zimberg, author of Stop, Smile, Breathe, Be and creator of Access Points, the Modern Life Meditation Plan, where we show you how to shift your attention out of your mind, connecting to the most profound inner peace of meditation, thus realizing your True- OneSelf, and then living a life of greater joy, happiness and true self expression where we all become contributions to the world. In today's video, I want to talk about self love. You've heard the concept of self love. You know, basically the more that we learn to accept ourselves and love ourselves and have appreciation for ourselves, all things can stem from there. We've heard of the idea that we can't really love someone else until you love yourself. And I'm sure you've had some realizations in the things you've read or done. You've had some epiphanies, you've opened some doorways into accepting and embracing and loving yourself. And that may have lasted for awhile, and for often for many people, it fades away. And when it fades away, we're back in our mind and the battle and the struggle of life with unworthiness, fear, anger, a deep self-loathing and hatred that happens for some people even. So, let's finally take a look at what self love really is. There's so many misunderstandings and misconceptions about self love. What self love really is, is learning to embrace and accept every single aspect of you. When we learn to embrace and accept all aspects of ourselves, we receive love innately. You see, so often self love is you trying to love yourself. The separate mind concept recipe loving yourself. You have to try to love yourself. Now, if you have a child, you don't try to love your child. You have an innate love for your child, right? You can't help it. When you see a beautiful sunset and you're blown away by it, you don't try to love that sunset. You have an innate love for that sunset. True self love is having an innate love for yourself. And when you learn to open and embrace all aspects of yourself, then there's a flowering of innate self love that just overflows within you. You don't have to attempt to try to love yourself. So, instead of you trying to love a part of yourself, from within you is a full opening, acceptance and embrace of love. You get the difference? There is an innate love emanating from you for yourself that has compassion, that has acceptance, that has love. And when we allow true self love, we connect to the Divine within ourselves. When you connect to the Divine within yourself, in that space, you start to really come to the core of self love, this deep appreciation and compassion that allows you to move into any aspect of yourself without getting lost in the judgemental mind that beats ourselves up, that creates a separate. You see, real suffering is when we are identified with our mind. When our attention is stuck in our mind in the beliefs, in the comments, and making too much meaning out of the emotions that we have. It is in those moments that we find that we have to try to love ourselves, that we are in the suffering, struggle and battle of life. Therefore, we have to apply a way to love ourselves. Because "Oh my God, I am being so hard on myself. I need to learn to love myself." And what we are really doing is we're not having a space of total love and acceptance. When we have a space of total love and acceptance of who we are, we can have a natural fluidity of allowing certain things to rise and fall, see good and bad fall, and rise and fall. Comments and ideas about ourselves can rise and fall. Sadness, anger can rise and fall. Judgement can rise and fall when we have space for it. If we don't have space for it, we are battling against it. The truth is that all suffering and struggle in life comes from us being identified with our mind. When we are in our thoughts, when we are identified with our mind, we believe ourselves to be separate. When we are fully in the belief of our own separation, we are in survival. And in that survival, we have to protect ourselves. And that's where the struggle and suffering in life comes, by being identified with our minds. You see, in the identification with the mind, everything is created separately. There is duality. There is good, bad. Right, wrong. And as we grow up in the development of who we believe ourselves to be, we decide that I have to be the good. Right? "Be a good boy or you won't get your dessert. Be a good girl or you won't get the new doll." We're shown our entire lives that we have to reach for societal concepts and ideas of what good is, and bad is no good. We don't want the bad. Be happy. Stop crying. So, in our mind, there is only duality of separation. The good and the bad. What happens is we habitually are reaching only for what we think to be the good part of ourselves. And we're pushing away everything that we don't like about ourselves or that we have been told is the bad part of ourselves. So what happens is we are torn, you see? We think in this ideal image of ourselves, we would only have all the good parts of ourselves. Like one day, you're going to be a saint. Who knows about that, you know? But we're working to only the good part of ourselves. And in that, we do two things the bad part of ourselves. We deny it. So, we pretend it's not there. We repress it or we indulge it. You know, a friend of mine was telling me he was so good. He was into drinking, he was using it to repress and hide from things. And he was going to a therapist. But the therapist couldn't even help him because he was lying to the therapist about how he was really feeling and what he was doing. See, when we build upon these lies to ourselves, we fester. We fester in an inauthenticity with ourselves. And really, there's nothing worse than that. We don't like this battle within ourselves. But we also don't like to feel unworthy. We don't like self-hatred. So we rather pretend it doesn't exist. When we pretend it doesn't exist, we are living that lie. We are building that lie. We are building that inauthenticity. What we want to be is authentic with ourselves. You see, when we embrace the good and the bad and we bring it into wholeness. Like the Yin and Yang. Like the Tao. When we embrace all aspects of ourselves, when we accept them without repression, without indulging. What's indulging anger look like? Roar, roar, roar, roar! (laughs) Right? We get angry, we indulge it, we go with it. Sadness, repressed. "I'm fine, I'm fine," when deep down, we're feeling like, you know, but we pretend that it's not real. Or sadness indulged, depression. " I’m the worst me in the world, there's no worse than me. What's wrong with my life? What's wrong with me? I'm so bad. I'm no good. I don't deserve to live." You know, all that comes from, the indulging of the feeling of sadness. And it comes because we don't want sadness. We only want happiness. Sadness is bad. It's a real immature way of dealing and looking at our emotions. Who we all are is the full, the full spectrum of all our emotions, all our feelings, all our thoughts. And when we're going to learn allow all of those here and exercise we're going to do later, you're going to learn to look at all the good and all the bad of yourself and finally get present to them. When we get present to all aspects of ourselves, we find that all of these things we are avoiding, they have a gift to offer us. Sadness, anger, fear, unworthiness. Each one in its seed is actually a doorway to greater joy and happiness. Believe it. It's the truth and I'm going to show it to you. See, the mind has ideas and who you are and who you should be based on all those things we talked about, based on all that conditioning. So, what the mind is kind of trying to do is constantly maintain this identification of being a separate person. And it's doing it by helping you push away the bad and get the good. Divide, divide and divide. It's the endless battle of the mind. What we need to understand is that this duality battle of the mind will never stop. So, we need to become aware of it and be able to take one step back and away from it. The problem is as we push away the bad, we are disowning half of ourselves. How can we have the full embrace of self love if we're disowning half of ourselves? So, first off, it's not your fault. This is an operating system and a program of the egoic survival animal. Dividing and pushing away and separating the good and the bad. The great divide of the mind. So, now it's time to reclaim all of who you are. When we learn to embrace and accept every aspect of who we are, like I said, that is what self love is really is. When we are whole, we are integral. We are full, we are integrated. From there, we are in alignment . We are in alignment with our heart. We are in alignment with our True-OneSelf. We are in alignment with the Divine. From there, there is a fluidity in the flow of Divine through ourselves and really into the great expression of who we are into the world. When we are disowning half of ourselves, only reaching for what we think is the better part of ourselves and denying the other part of ourselves, there is no wholeness there. We are putting ourselves in a half. We are blocking the integral. We are blocking ourselves from being holistic and whole. What we all want is to experience that wholeness. The reason we have an innate nature within ourselves to become dawned upon, we want that connection to the Divine. Because we want to know what that wholeness is now. We want to experience what it is to be connected and feel full. The full embrace of love. How can we finally let everything that we are be here so we can embrace and accept it and feel the innate self love that you desire? That you deserve? That connection that can be moment-to-moment without the blockage of dividing yourself. It's time to bring all pieces back together. So, let's take a look at the Yin Yang as an example. Okay, the nice Yin Yang of the Tao, of the wholeness, of all reality, of all life. In the Yin Yang, you have one side dark, one side light. One side dark, and in that dark side, you have a dot of light. Contained within the dark is still a part of the other side. Contained within the light is still a part of the other side. Complete in a whole balance. Neither side can ever really overtake the other side because there's always, no matter which way the dark moves, it has within it, contained within each other, the other aspect of each other. So, it can constantly balance itself out. So, soon we are going to do an exercise that's going to get us down to looking at every single part of ourselves that we don't like. Just like in the totality, the acceptance of the Tao is that wholeness. Imagine for you, the embrace of every aspect of yourself, being the embrace of that wholeness. It's full. And that's actually what true fulfillment is. True fulfillment is the embrace of the totality of every aspect of yourself. No longer buying into the program of the mind which is chasing what we think of is good. In this idea of this image of what we've been told and the pushing away of the bad. When there is finally an ability to sit and have tea with deep unworthiness. To just be here with it and to not indulge it. To not repress it, to not push it away, to not hold on to it, to not overindulge it, then we find real freedom. Real self love. Now, in a way what I'm asking you to do here is counter intuitive. It's counter intuitive because we don't look to walk into the darkness. We think we want to find the light. But let me share something with you. The more you go into the shadows, the blind spots, the spot you can't see in the mirror, you can't take the turn to the next lane of your life if you're going to smash somebody right there, you're going to smack into something. You need to see in order to make the right proper movement. So, the proper fluidity to your own wholeness would be to not have any more blind spot. So, we want to expose the truth at the deepest level. So, the animal is always running away from facing unworthiness, from facing fear, from facing anger. The truth is these, as we share in access points and in “meeting the voids”, the doorway to happiness, these are the three doorways to happiness. The seed root of all your emotions, all your "negative emotions", fear, unworthiness and anger. And when we learn to get present to emotions, we go so deep within them, we become one with them. They have a gift to offer us. They show us the doorway to our own true self, our own fulfillment, happiness greater than ever before. So, what we want to do is really look at every aspect of ourselves and learn to be present with it, accept it without making/believing the mind and getting into a negative bombardment of beating ourselves up. Or without indulging it outward into anger or to into the story of sadness or to repressing it and pushing it away and pretending that it's not there creating that angst and that lie and inauthenticity. We want to get present to each emotion, accept each emotion. And instead of being with what is because when we are with what is at the deepest levels of being with the peace of the Tao, Is-ness, being-ness. But “it is what it is” has become a kind of a way blowing things off. And really, it's just another way of repressing things, pushing things away. And its root, there's tolerance. Now, tolerance means that you're not being with what is. You're frustrated by what is. Tolerance has violence to it. It is a frustration to it. You're tolerating somebody. You're tolerating something an aspect of yourself. That's not what we're looking for. We're not looking to tolerate an aspect of ourselves. We're looking for full compassion and embrace and acceptance of all parts of ourselves. We tell the truth of everything that we are, the wholeness of what we are. Alright, so, what I want you to do...if you're driving a car, you can just think a couple of things for now and come back and really do this exercise. If there's some place that you can grab a pen and paper, go ahead and give yourself a second to do that... So, on a piece of paper, I want you to write down all the different negative aspects of yourself. All the things you don't like about yourself. All of things you think other people don't like about yourself. Write all those down in one side. On the other side, write about the good things about yourself. All the things you like about yourself, even all the things that other people like about yourself. After you've done that, you're going to write down the emotions. Clarify what these emotions are associated with the things you don't like about yourself. "I like the way that I smile at people." You read that part "I like the way that I smile at people," and you admit that part, how does that make you feel? "Ah, it makes me feel pretty happy actually." You write down happy. Go over each part, okay? And start with the positive, make it a little more okay for you now. But now, we are going to turn, we are going to face the shadow, the blind side, okay? We're going to get into some deeper work here. Now, certain emotions when you are with them, you're going to feel and start to see the body want to have discomfort and push them away or call them back. So, I invite you to take a look at the link below or I'll pop it on the screen here but we have a program called "Meeting the Voids" and to really be free from emotions that are running you on a deep seeded level. I sit down and I talk you into the core of unworthiness, into the core of anger, into the core of fear and we get to see how the different levels in the way it's running us. But the main thing in the willingness to welcome everything is, is to finally allow ourselves to be with an emotion and start noticing the patterns of the mind saying, pushing it away, "No, I'm okay. That's not true. That's not real." Or, "I don’t like that. I'm scared. I'm so sad in indulging it." We want to start seeing these patterns and then learn to just be with it. Okay? So, step 1 is going to be admitting that it exists. Step 2 is going to be give it space and embrace. It sounds crazy, but you're going to learn to have space and then embrace with love, sadness, anger, frustration, fear. You're going to find a seed of each one of them that they have something to offer you. So, on this negative side of the list. “Negative.” You're going to write down all the things you don't like about yourself. All the things you don't like about yourself, write them down. Now, you can even write down the things that people, things you think people don't like about you. We do the same thing in the other side. Each one of those, we're going to write down the emotion, okay? "I don't like that I'm not taller." Read that, how does that make me feel I'm not taller? "I feel less than... I feel not good enough." Right, isn't that what the core about is? Just write down the emotion, okay? And each one of them, now that we have admitted it, it's going to be amazing if you just write it down. Everything that even though your mind will have an argument, "Well, that's not true about me. I don't feel that way about myself." But if there's anytime you felt that way about yourself, or if deep down maybe you do, or others might, write it down. So, what's going to happen is, if you are okay admitting all of these things as a possibility of being a part of you and all these things possibly part of you, guess what? There's nowhere to run. There's nothing to hide from anymore. It's all part of you at some point, in some time. You don't have to block anything off. You don't have to repress. You’re going to get filled with such energy and joy and each seed of emotion is going to bring you a present and a gift and it's a doorway coming closer to the truth of your one self. Total self love. So, step 1 is admitting it all. So, you've done that part. You've written it down, you've admitted. This could take some time for you to sit down and do it yourself. Do it a little bit each day and you're going to find a whole shift going on for you. You're going to find a renewal of what it is to be you and to be okay. Fully embracing and accepting yourself. So, give an example for the second part, you're going to give it space and embrace. So, we isolate one little section that you write about yourself. "I don't like that I talk too much. I don't like the way my voice sounds." The emotion of the word of that is a feeling of shame of not being good enough. So, now that I'm going to admit it, I'm going to give space to just this feeling of not being good enough. And we're going to start to notice that if I’m with it, it doesn't feel so comfortable and I kind of want to NOT be with that, but giving it space means I'm not going to push it away or indulge it. I'm just going to let it be here finally. Finally, I'm going to have tea with it and be here with this. So if there's discomfort, I'm going to let discomfort be here and rise and fall. My mind is starting to say that's not true, that's not good. Or my mind is starting to say that I really am unworthy of this, that's the truth of who I am. I'm not so bad, I'm just going to let that story come and go like traffic. Like a radio in the background. And now, we're going to embrace. We’re actually going to offer the same love you would offer to a child. You're going to offer that love to that emotion within you. So, by being with the emotion, we're not running from it, we're not run by it any longer. So, what we want to do with each one of these emotions... I'm going to read something I've written and something along the lines of what you can say to each aspect of yourselves. You really want to say this in some way that feels comfortable to you, to each aspect of yourselves. You want to start living and breathing this with each part of yourself. When you go through this list, a few each day, you're going to find (sigh) the gifts that are going to come from this, the energy that's going to be released, the vibrancy in the way of being in life. I'm excited for you. So, really what we want to do, is to learn just “be” with these aspects. Give them space and embrace and offer it that love. What's really great is I've written something that we can say to each aspect to ourselves. And we'll put that below. You can read it to each part of yourself and help create this release. It doesn't have to be word for word. It's the sentiment of what's being said here which is the energy and the flow of what you want to start offering to every aspect of yourself. So you say to each part of yourself (we're talking about shame here) so, say we're being with shame. You say, "I embrace this part of me. I no longer push this aspect of me away. You too are accepted here like a lost child. I offer you love and I allow you to be here. I will not allow my thoughts or my feelings about you to run me. I accept you here as part of the whole of who I am. I release my battle with you and offer the embrace of love to you." You just rewind that part and play it back or write it down for yourself. We have it below. Remember the mind is always labelling, dissecting, separating, to be separate. This means you need to survive and you can be destroyed. Recognize the oneness of who you really are. What meditation really is, shifting out of our minds to that oneness. So for self love here, we are leaving the battle of I like myself, I don't like myself, you're good, you're not good. We're letting that conversation continue like two bulls, hitting horns and an ocean washing it away. And instead, we're letting self love emanate. Emanate. Like innate self love that we have for a flower, sunset or a child. We're going to let it flow from us. We do this by allowing all aspects, all aspects of ourselves. We no longer are pushing away, repressing or indulging. We no longer are going to be blinded by living only half of who we are. We're going to accept the Yin and Yang, the whole of who we are. And you're going to find a movement and fluidity to life. Because no concept, no label, no idea of good or bad, is who you are. Who you are is the limitless nature of Divine love. Until next time. Here's to living an awake life from your True-OneSelf, and into the greatest expression of you.
