POPULARITY
Stephen Watson, co-lead pastor, is talking about liturgy and worship. The way we worship forms us. And we all worship something. Why do we pray the way we do? And what does that say about who we are praying to?
Pastor Greg continues our sermon series through Colossians: Complete in Christ, by reminding us to put on the new self which Jesus has graciously given us, in order to glorify God and build up the unity of the body of Christ.

Colossians 3:12-14 (NRSV) 12 As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. 13 Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
The fruit of Spirit and any other Christian virtues rise to their highest level when they are accompanied by love. Otherwise, as the Apostle Paul says, "they are a clanging cymbal."

Cristo nos habilita para vestirnos con un ropaje lleno de virtudes, entre las cuales el amor sobresale. Estas virtudes nos facilitan el soportarnos y perdonarnos unos a otros.
Our mission at Community Church of Greenwood is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and live in full devotion to Him. We want to help people far from God to experience new life in Jesus Christ.

Putting on the new self.
In this message, we will discuss how the presence or absence of certain ingredients like love, humility, patience, kindness, and mercy affect whether we will or won’t forgive a person who has offended us.

We as Christians have been called to a new position in God by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for God's purpose and plans. We have been forgiven of all of our sins and we are called to forgive and bear with one another, just as Christ has done for us.

Para ciertas personas y ciertas situaciones hay una ropa apropiada. De la misma manera, el cristiano tiene una ropa figurativa que es apropiada. ¡Vistámonos como corresponde!
Rev. Dr. David D. Young offers his sermon "A Wardrobe Worth Wearing," the first in the Neighborhood Church's summer sermon series on respectful, Christian communication. Scripture readings of the day are Romans 13: 8-14 and Colossians 3: 12-14.
So far in our You Asked For It sermon series, we have covered what God's word says about the resurrection, salvation and intimacy, as well as the reality of hell and demons. These have all been good questions but they were tough. Our 6th, and final, question in the series is undoubtedly the most emotionally charged. This sermon teaches what God says about homosexuality.
We are currently in our verse-by-verse study through Paul's letters to the Colossians and Ephesians, in our series: "The Christ of the Church / The Church of Christ." We exist for the praise of the glory of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. Everything we do as a church must bring glory to God in the name of Christ Jesus. We are an intergenerational church. We strive to make a seamless journey of faith from birth to old age. We are overtly trinitarian. We are always looking for the work of the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. We value people. We present the ideal of God’s plan while embracing the reality of life.

We believe, through Christ, we can OVERCOME our old life and its character Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved,… Colossians 3:12a For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession the LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the LORD loved …..Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands….. Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today. Deuteronomy 7:6-11 and we can BECOME a new life with a new character. clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:12b-14 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Psalm 51:1 Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Mark 1:41 You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit. Job 10:12 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Philippians 2:3 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Philippians 4:5 But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. 1 Timothy 1:16 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love Ephesians 4:2
