With the release of the Super Nintendo Classic Edition this week the gang talk about the possibility of the Nintendo 64 Classic. Would Nintendo make an N64 Classic? What games would be on the system? Would you have 4 controllers? The group also take the time to talk about the new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer and Beto talks about playing Mario + Rabbids.
This week we play some really exciting and unique new and returning games. First up, we visit the days of old with the Super Nintendo Classic Edition and talk about our hands-on experience with the new console. We also talk about the Switch-exclusive title Golf Story. It's an RPG/sports game where you improve your golf swing and your story overall with the people you meet. Austin plays Kingdom: New Lands, a tower defense game where you play as a king in a "new land" and hire your people to build and defend your bases for you. Finally we get our hands on the Call of Duty WWII Public Beta and talk about the pros and cons of the highly anticipated new game from Activision and Sledgehammer Games. In our news segment, we talk about Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailers, discuss the new Ataribox and touch on the creators of Dear Esther going dark for a bit. We also revisit Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds with different, but related stories this week on the success of both games. Don't miss our upcoming video game releases and free games of the month at the end! It's a killer line up for October and you won't want to miss it. Show Notes: 1:02 - SNES Classic 8:04 - Kingdom: New Lands 14:20 - Golf Story 21:07 - Call of Duty WWII Public Beta 28:08 - Gaming News 49:49 - Games of the Month and Upcoming Releases The Inner Gamer is a podcast built for the casual gamer. In this episode, we geek out on the Super Nintendo Classic Edition, Nintendo's next miniature plug-and-play console much like 2016's NES Classic, but for the legendary Super Nintendo Entertainment System! The SNES Classic, for $80, comes with the system preloaded with 21 games (including the never before released Star Fox 2) as well as two SNES styled Classic Controllers. In this episode, with special guest Hassan Ahmed, we talk about the roster, what games we're most looking forward to, what games we would have liked to see make the cut, and some SNES discussion in general. We wrap up the show with a mail time question from listener Elias. Thanks! The Super Nintendo Classic Edition is out this week, and we got our hands on one. On this week's episode of the GamesBeat Decides podcast, host and PC gaming editor Jeffrey Grubb asks co-host and reviews editor Mike Minotti whether it lives up to the excitement. We also talk about the news from the last week. Bethesda wants to get close with Nintendo and its fans. Game developers admit they're afraid to speak out due to "toxic" gamer culture. Xbox boss Phil Spencer gets a promotion. And w easo talk about Monster Hunter: World and Nier: Automata. In the second segment, Mike and Jeff spend a lot of time trying to determine what the "core" Mario games are. This is a pointless exercise that we take far too seriously. You should join us and share your list -- but only if you agree with our opinions.
