Definitive Ranking returns! This time around, we're putting a bow on our dedicated coverage of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and we are going out with a bang. We cover the good, the bad, and the ugly; the breathtaking graphics, the horrific story, the rock solid gameplay, the divisive level design, the soundtrack and if it hits, and so much more! Come play along, and as always, here's the criteria for the Definitive Rankings: World / Atmosphere (the vibe, the setting, the mood) Art Style (design of Samus, the enemies, the graphics in general) Story (what works, what doesn't) Pacing / Progression (are there any parts that really bog the player down, or is it still fun getting lost?) Gameplay / “Gimmick” (what new or different gameplay aspects we like) Items / Abilities (how are the powerups and are they cool and practical) Areas (how does each individual area look, feel, play, etc.) Enemies / Bosses (are they fun, creative, etc.) Expansions / Powerups (are the expansions hidden throughout the world fun, creative, and enjoyable to collect?) Music (are we humming along?) Of course, all of these are subjective, and we're putting our critics hats on, but we want to hear what you have to say on Bluesky! Visit OmegaMetroid.com! Subscribe!
We are back and continuing the discussion around Metroid Prime 4 this week, and tackling one of the most contentious aspects of the game: the areas! We discuss the pros and cons of each locale, debate whether it's better for an area to try new things and fail or retread old ground and be fine, and end up definitively ranking them at the end. Sol Valley is definitely a hot topic, so you'll want to weigh in with your thoughts! All this, PLUS some discussion about Wal-Mart's leaked Metroid Prime 2 NSO advertisement and when we could realistically see Echoes on Nintendo Classics. Come hang out! Visit OmegaMetroid.com! What a week for Metroid! We are going over a bombshell interview that Series Producer Kensuke Tanabe and a few other developers conducted with Japanese outlet Nintendo Dream, which Omega Metroid independently translated, where a whole slew of topics were discussed, with the most prominent piece of news being Tanabe confirming he will no longer produce games for Nintendo! Also discussed were Tanabe's successor, the level design philosophy of Metroid Prime 4, the inspiration behind the games ending, what Sylux was up to while on Viewros, and a whole lot more! All this, PLUS our first glimpse at how Metroid Prime 4's sales are doing, and a message of hope for everyone affected by the brutal ICE murders of the last several weeks. Keep strong, friends

Episode 155 of Nintendo Therapy is packed with Switch 2 chaos and cozy Nintendo vibes. We talk DLC, backlog victories, and whether Doug Bowser needs a new name now that he's on Hasbro's board. Then we dig into huge news: Switch 2's record-breaking launch in Japan, Wizard101 unexpectedly dominating the eShop, Dispatch becoming an episodic indie monster, major Mario Wonder and Donkey Kong updates, and how impressive (and important) FF7 Remake Intergrade is on Switch 2. Plus, Year of the Backlog check-ins, Metroid Prime thoughts, and a deep dive into Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is full of games with the likes Mario Kart World, Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Z-A... but what happens when we RANK the GAMES from BEST to WORST?

This episode kicks off with some direct addressing of comments we received after last weeks episode that nicely dovetail into Devon's final thoughts about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond after finally completing the game. From there we discuss ways that the youth are being infantilized and having those small options for independence taken from them in a world that seems to keep adding restrictions for the population under the age of 18.Next Sejohn shares some of the things he has spent his money from the holidays on from supporting creators to the purchasing of some truly crackerjack collection comic publications. Finally we give a little bit of oxygen to the Winter Olympics that will be kicking off in a few weeks in additions to a brief discussion about the televised entertainment that has premiered so far in 2026.
Ep 509 - We're back from the holidays with stories to tell and games to discuss, including our thoughts on Witcher 3 DLC rumors, Big Hops, Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined, Hades II, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. 2026 is here, which means our Game of the Year podcasts are on the horizon, too. But first, it's time for Rob, Danika, Chia, Janet, and Patrick to gather in front of some microphones and wonder if letting an AI beat a video game boss for you is cheating. Plus, for once, it's not Rob considering buying a new PC! We've also got reactions to Chia beating Silksong, Patrick beating Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and surprisingly extensive thoughts on “outside smell(s).”Discussed:Can We Tempt Rob With CES Announcements? - 1:49Sony Patent's AI that Plays the Game For You - 22:41 Ram Shortage Driving Up Prebuilt PC Prices - 48:02Chia's Silksong Corner - 1:25:11Metroid Prime 4 - 1:41:02The Question Bucket - 1:51:48See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
