Hey Strangers, #gaming #videogames #tangogameworks Tango Gameworks will live on, as Microsoft has reached an agreement with publisher Krafton to maintain the studio. Krafton Inc, known for games like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has fully acquired Tango Gameworks from Xbox, as well as the the rights to recent action hit Hi-Fi Rush. Microsoft announced that it would close Tango Gameworks earlier this year, as part of a round of layoffs that saw a few other Xbox game studios closed. Tango was known for games like the aforementioned high-octane rhythm-brawler Hi-Fi Rush, as well as survival horror franchise The Evil Within. Tango was initially established in 2010 by Shinji Mikami of Resident Evil fame, with the studio coming across to Microsoft as part of the ZeniMax acquisition. ======================================= My other podcast https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw ************************************************** Something Strange https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s ************************************************** article links: https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xbox/former-xbox-studio-tango-gameworks-and-hi-fi-rush-has-been-acquired-by-pubgs-krafton-inc-saving-it-from-closure https://kotaku.com/release-date-delay-avowed-jurassic-park-terminator-1851621171 ====================================== Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discord https://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxq TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoder Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe9xwdRW2D7RYwlp6pRGOvQ?sub_confirmation=1 Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangers Twitter https://twitter.com/strangestcoder merch Support CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. Podcast NewsInside, siga e ouça mensalmente no Spotify: Fala pessoal, tudo bom? O impacto cultural do Minecraft é enorme. Among Us O Among Us é um exemplo perfeito de um sucesso inesperado.

I 2017 udkom spillet dog endelig.

Look closely at your competitors. Is there anything they do better than you? Maybe it's their messaging, their branding, their logo. Whatever it is, it doesn't hurt to “borrow” ideas from them. We won't call it stealing. That's just one of the things we're talking about in this episode as we take marketing lessons from Fortnite with the help of special guest, VP, Head of Content at GreenSlate, Chris Anderson. Together, we chat about borrowing ideas from your competitors, providing opportunities for customization, and making pleasingly digestible content.About our guest, Chris AndersonChris Anderson is VP, Head of Content at GreenSlate, a best-in-class software that simplifies and streamlines payroll and accounting for TV and film productions. Before that, he was a Managing (and Senior) Editor for Asia at LinkedIn News, where he continued to grow a strong personal brand with over 100k followers after previously being selected as the #10 Top Voice in Media on LinkedIn in 2016. Evolving the industry, one production at a time.About FortniteFortnite is an online video game that was launched by Epic Games in 2017. It has six game modes: Fortnite: Save the World, Fortnite Battle Royale, and Fortnite Creative, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival. It's available across platforms like Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS and some Android devices. It's incredibly popular with over 500 million registered users, and around 230 million active players each month. The game has generated around $26 billion since it launched. What B2B Companies Can Learn From Fortnite:Borrow ideas from your competitors. If your competitors are offering a product or service you don't have and it's doing well, build it out for your brand too. Chris says, “In 2017 PUBG (a game called PlayerUnknown's Battleground) was the big battle royale, and Fortnite was primarily focused on their pay-to-play model, which was Save the World. But they recognized in their competitor that there was a mode that they did not have that was very good and popular. And they understood that if they changed course and put it out as a free-to-play model, that was worth it. They were flexible and they adapted and they put something out that was fun and engaging for a different audience.”Provide opportunities for customization. Ian says, “One of the ultimate B2B lessons is making the customer feel like they're getting exactly what they want and none of the features that they don't want.” Fortnite lets players choose what game mode they want to play, what they want their character to look like, and what emotes they want to use. It gives players ownership of their character and how they feel about the gaming experience.Make it short and sweet. Whether it's a newsletters, blog post, article, email, whatever…make your content pleasingly digestible. People should be able to consume it easily and in a short amount of time. Ian says Fortnite is super addictive because of “the speed in which the rounds happen. If you're out, you're out for a little bit, but then you can go back in and do something else. It's just got this built-in super fast pace that makes it really engaging.” And Chris added that he can knock out a game in a matter of minutes.Quotes*”Epic Games is really good at understanding their audience as well as their potential audience that they don't have. They capture these different audiences across the board in these different categories. And they're pulling in all these people from different places because they have this platform that's flexible enough to build on top of it. It's quite brilliant.” - Chris Anderson*“There's a difference between what you think people want, what you want them to want, and then what they actually want. In B2B you can put a ton of effort into building a new feature because maybe you've done some market research and you think that, ‘Oh, people definitely want this. This is something that they're interested in.' You build it, spend the time, you put it out there and it bombs, or for whatever reason, it just doesn't resonate. It's hard for people to pull back from these sometimes because you put all that energy, all that effort into creating that product.” - Chris Anderson*”It's hard to bullshit people.  You could be really good at content marketing and really good at pushing narratives. But if the product itself can't back it up, you're going to forever be chasing a dream.” - Chris AndersonTime Stamps[0:55] Meet Chris Anderson, VP, Head of Content at GreenSlate[1:12] Discussion about Fortnite in B2B Marketing[1:17] What does Chris' role at GreenSlate entail?[1:17] What makes Fortnite remarkable?[4:21] What are some B2B marketing' takeaways from Fortnite?[38:57] What is Chris' content strategy?[50:03] What can we learn about content calendars from Fortnite?[57:45] What advice would Chris give other marketers?LinksPlay FortniteConnect with Chris on LinkedInLearn more about GreenSlateAbout Remarkable!Remarkable! is created by the team at Caspian Studios, the premier B2B Podcast-as-a-Service company. A Video Game Time Capsule: The Complete History of Video Games, presented by MRIXRT @reallycool

The years 2017-2018 presented a roller coaster of highs and lows for the gaming world. In 2017, Nintendo's Switch revitalized the company's image, while the loot box debacle, with Battlefront 2 at its heart, ignited fierce debates on game monetization. This controversial gaming mechanic not only drew ire from players but also caught the attention of global regulatory bodies. Acquisitions like IGN's purchase of Humble Bundle, and Funko Pop's unfortunate IPO, spotlighted the business machinations behind the scenes. Yet, amidst these industry tremors, retro revivals like Sonic Mania showcased the enduring power of nostalgia. The unexpected success story of Okami highlighted the game's journey from an initial commercial disappointment to a cult classic. Fast forward to 2018, the battle royale genre, spearheaded by PUBG and Fortnite, swept the globe. Epic Games' foray into the digital distribution domain with the Epic Games Store challenged existing giants, promising better deals for developers. Simultaneously, China's freeze on new game approvals sent ripples through the industry, emphasizing the country's growing influence in the gaming sector. However, amidst the gold rush, the darker side of the industry emerged, with studio closures amplifying calls for unionization. These tumultuous years posed critical questions about the future of game design, monetization, distribution, and the very structure of the industry itself.Featured Games:The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Horizon: Zero Dawn, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Cuphead, Yakuza 0, Destiny 2, God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man, Fortnite, Warframe, Red Dead Redemption, & No Man's Sky. ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ Thanks to our monthly supporters FS Tabreez Siddique Mynx Mopman43 Ritsu William Kage Studio Devil Dallay_g Razu John H The Golden Bolt MykonosFan ErbBetaPatched Vornak Killer Space Serra Mr. Lindsay Autocharth History With Kayleigh Benjamin Steele Nick Makris minimme

In the earliest days of 2017, a new gaming style swept the nation as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds introduced the world to the Battle Royale. It wasn't long before every 10-year-old had downloaded PUBG on their parents' iPads and joined the hunt for that illusive winner winner chicken dinner. Battle Royale games pit 100 (or some other arbitrary number) players against each other to see who is the very best like, no one ever was. UNRELATED: A new Pokemon game just came out! On today's episode: It seems like only yesterday that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds launched, and with it a wave - nay, a tsunami - of change that is still with us to this day. 100 players depart from a cargo plane, hover bus, drop ship, helicopter, or some other type of flying object and split across a massive map in hopes of finding the right weapons and gear and making it to the center of the zone before they die or succumb to the wall. However, in those 5 years since PUBG's release, player expectations for Battle Royale modes have shifted, and some players leverage a multiplayer game's success against the inclusion of a Battle Royale. Some devs even consider this expectation as they see player counts drop, and retention skews into the red, meaning a post-content change to include a Battle Royale ends up becoming a make or break event. But is this the right way to go, or is this more of a grasping-for-straws scenario to maintain interest in a game? Let's get into it with today's episode: The Battle Royale Dilemma. The team behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is bringing cross-platform play to its Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, allowing console players of the landmark battle royale game to face off against each other online. Sam Hughes speaks with composer Tom Salta, about his recent work on Wolfenstein: Young Blood, his love for the 80's (including his podcast), Twitch streaming the PUBG theme and much more! “I truly enjoyed creating a unique and signature early ‘80s post-punk aesthetic for the latest entry in this iconic series, using sound sources, synths, samplers and effects only available in the early ‘80s. Needless to say, I had an absolute blast. Another bonus was having the opportunity to do a remake of the Joy Division song “A Means to an End” (featured in the ending credits) performed by the Swedish hard rock group The Guilt. They were amazing and it was an honor to produce them.” ASCAP winning and MTV VMA nominated composer Tom Salta is one of the most versatile and prolific music artists/producers working in film, television, advertising and video games. Renowned for crafting emotionally engaging soundtracks for multimedia, Salta has received widespread industry acclaim for his world-class produced hybrid scores featured in film, television and video games such as Machine Games' WOLFENSTEIN : Youngblood & Cyberpilot, Microsoft's iconic HALO series (G.A.N.G. Around the 12 minute mark Derek talks about trying to do streaming of YouTube videos before starting the podcast Conversation then goes to the games Derek has been playing lately, the latest being Celeste. What is touted as one of the greatest games of all time is back for a full remake on PS4: Shadow of the Colossus. We play through half of it and share our first and returning impressions on this game that wasn't a huge hit, but created a cult following for years to come. Team Ico created this game after their first game, Ico. They then went on to create The Last Guardian that released last year. We also play the new indie title Aegis Defenders which combines platforming with tower defense elements. We had them on the podcast in episode 131 and we're quite impressed with the final outcome. We also have some positive words to say after diving deeper into the story on Celeste. In the news this week, Supercell makes a bunch of money without releasing a new game, Overwatch League brings on their first female player and Atari is getting into cryptocurrency. We also talk about the possible Spyro the Dragon Remaster coming later this year and some crazy stories surrounding PlayerUnknown's: Battlegrounds. Here's the link to our naked man conversation. It's hard to talk about gaming in 2017 without mentioning PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Joining me on the Podcast today is Chris Dring, a veteran of games journalism, writer for almost 20 years, and an old high-school friend. This is a podcast I've wanted to do for a while: Chris has a unique insight into the gaming industry, having published a literal shed load of magazines covering the industry and events such as E3, as well as interviewing most of the high-profile and indie elements of the UK games industry, so I wanted to pick his brain on the current state of a main driver of computing technology. In this podcast we talk about PUBG and the other gaming highlights of 2017, as well as a look towards what is in store for gaming in 2018, from both a hardware and software perspective.

We're nearing the end of the year and no major game releases left but we still have a bunch to talk about from the storm that has been 2017 for Episode 150! This week we follow up on Star Wars Battlefront 2 with our thoughts on the full campaign and all the multiplayer. Devan jumps into Overwatch again to talk about all the awesome new updates they've brought out this year such as the character Moira and the new map Junkertown. Brett finishes the campaign for Call of Duty WWII and shares his thoughts on this campaign and how it fits into all the great games of the year. Finally, we delve into some more PUBG as our console friends get closer to having it on the Xbox! In our news segment, there is a lot more on Electronic Arts mess ups, microtransactions and more. Bungie also screwed up and had a rigged system in Destiny 2 which made for some unhappy fans on Reddit. On the bright side, someone made a super cool animation inspired by Cuphead with Dark Souls characters. Finally, it wouldn't be Episode 150 without a giveaway! We posted a contest a few weeks ago and received tons of submissions from our fans. We picked our favorite questions for a grab bag discussion on subjects such as how we'd change the video game industry, our favorite Christmas memories, DLC and what would NPC would we like to step into the shoes of. We also pick a winner for our giveaway! Make sure and listen to see if you won and check your email for the follow up to win your FREE GAME! Thanks to everyone for submitting and we appreciate all the support. Please take the time to head over to our website and donate to us on Patreon so we can keep bringing great content to you each week!
