Een Wa..anzinnige podcast met gemixte inbreng van deelnemers aan het Human Design experiment. Welkom bij aflevering 100 van mijn Human Design Netherlands podcast. Wow! en hoe mooi om dit te vieren en tevens het jaar af te sluiten met vuurwerk. Deze aflevering en ook aflevering 101 -en van seizoen 5 zijn dit aflevering #28 en #29- gaan over het Wa...anzinnig Human Design experiment dat 21 nov 2025 hier plaats vond op Bing Farmhouse. Dat was de afsluiting van 2 Business Masterclasses die ik dit najaar verzorgde en het experiment was specifiek gericht op de grotere kudde entiteit, in Human Design geduid als de Wa. We zijn allemaal onderdeel van een groter geheel: een familie, een organisatie, een land, een cultuur. De 'corporate tribe' wordt het ook wel genoemd, of de kudde en de Wa. Als antropoloog en business consultant heb ik een groot gedeelte van mijn werkende leven niet alleen in verschillende culturen doorgebracht, maar ook een grote diversiteit aan organisaties leren kennen. Deze systemen zijn voor velen een mysterie. Het is ook een plek van onze conditionering, van homogenisering. Je bewust zijn van de werking van deze grotere entiteit dan je individuele design, en leren vanuit je strategie en autoriteit er correct in te stappen, kan ook hier vandaan een ware openbaring zijn. Tevens vond er een uniek WA experiment als kers op de taart plaats. Mooi om mijn ervaringen uit het verre verleden, o.a. ook in de Human Design Ibiza events cocreëren, nu hier op mijn eigen minifarm te kunnen organiseren. Er sloten vele Human Design Netherlands (ex) studenten van de beroepsopleiding later aan die onderdeel van dit WA experiment werden. Aansluitend volgde er een inspiratie borrel bij de kampvuren. Een unieke ervaring en kans om ervaringen te delen. Deze podcast geeft je een inkijkje in de Wa, de 6 hoofdrolspelers in de Wa en het is aansluitend een nagesprek met deelnemers uit de masterclass. Tevens kan je luisteren naar quotes en ervaringen van de mensen die later aan het experiment deelnamen. Specifiek ga je luisteren naar Petra, Cindy, Demi, Ruurd, Myrna, Lisette, Abdel, Monique, Eveline, Joanneke, Anita, Nadesch, Taco, Amber, Mariosé, Marijn, Lizanne en een echt Wa lied van Astrid Onderwater. Daarmee zijn deze podcasten een ervaring op zichzelf en ja het experiment gaat voort... we want more. Heerlijk om na al die jaren jullie studenten hier samen bij elkaar te zien en je steeds dieper je systeem in te zien zakken. Met liefde voor jezelf. Es sollte nur ein harmloser Food-Trip werden. Doch was dann passierte, brachte mich an meine Grenzen. Fünf Pizzerien, fünf Legenden, fünf Orte, an denen Geschmack entweder göttlich oder lebensgefährlich wird. Für meinen Food Blog habe ich sie alle besucht – und kann kaum glauben, was ich erlebt habe. Stopp 1: Alfonsos geile geile geile geile supergeile geile geile geile geile leckere geile leckere geile leckere geile Superpizza – ein Geschmacksorkan! Schon beim Betreten des Ladens schlägt mir eine Wand aus Duft ins Gesicht, die mich fast rückwärts wieder rausdrückt. Alfonso selbst begrüßt mich mit einem stolzen Grinsen – als wüsste er genau, dass ich gleich etwas erlebe, das mein journalistisches Leben verändern wird. Ein Biss, und es ist vorbei: Hitze, Aroma, Würze – als würde mir jemand gleichzeitig „GEIL!“ ins Ohr brüllen und meine Geschmacksknospen massieren. Ich lache. Ich weine. Ich verstehe plötzlich Leute, die wegen Pizza reisen. Stopp 2: Luigis Sex Pizza – die heißeste Erfahrung meines Reporterlebens! Luigi kommt aus der Küche wie ein italienischer Don Juan, hält mir die Pizza hin wie ein Liebesgeständnis – und ich nehme an. Der erste Bissen ist so intensiv, dass ich kurz rot werde. Ich drehe mich weg, um mich zu sammeln. Diese Pizza ist keine Mahlzeit – sie ist ein flirtender Blick, ein verruchtes Versprechen, eine kulinarische Affäre. Ich verlasse den Laden mit wackligen Knien. Stopp 3: Stefanos ekelhafte-geile-leckere-billige-Luxus-Sex-ekelhafte-geile-leckere-5-Sterne-1-Stern-5-Sterne-1-Stern-5-Sterne-Super-Luxus-Ekelpizza – eine Achterbahnfahrt in der Hölle! Stefano begrüßt mich mit dem Satz: „Heute weiß ich selbst nicht, ob sie gut oder schlecht wird.“ Der Mann arbeitet offensichtlich im Chaos-Modus. Der Geschmack? Ein Wechselbad. Erst göttlich. Dann fragwürdig. Dann dekadent. Dann billig. Dann wieder geil. Mein Magen schickt mir Nachrichten, die ich nicht verstehe. Mein Gehirn versucht mitzuschreiben, scheitert aber daran, dass jeder Bissen wie ein anderer Film ist. Hier passiert mehr Handlung als in manchen Hollywood-Drehbüchern. Stopp 4: Ottos in Wurstwasser frittierte Kotzbrocken-Pizza – ich spüre zum ersten Mal echte Angst! Als Otto mir die dampfende Pizza serviert, liegt über dem ganzen Laden eine Stille, wie man sie sonst nur aus Arztserien kennt, kurz bevor etwas Schlimmes passiert. Die Pizza glänzt. Nicht im guten Sinne. Ich beiße rein und ich schmecke… Wurstwasser. Frittieröl. Schmerz. Ich verschlucke mich. Otto klopft mir auf den Rücken und sagt: „Das machen nicht viele zweimal.“ Ich glaube ihm. Stopp 5: Marios ekelhafte Schimmelpizza – das Finale des Wahnsinns! Der Laden wirkt wie ein Tatort. Eine Neonröhre flackert. An der Wand hängt ein Zertifikat, auf dem einfach nur „Mut“ steht. Mario legt mir die Pizza hin, als würde er mir ein Ultimatum stellen. Ich schaue ihn an. Er nickt nur. Ich beiße rein. Es ist schlimmer als jeder Schulbrot-Albtraum meiner Kindheit. Und doch… ich fühle mich plötzlich unbesiegbar. Vielleicht, weil mein Körper sofort in den Überlebensmodus schaltet. FAZIT: Diese Pizzerien sind keine Restaurants – sie sind Prüfungen! Ich habe geschwitzt, gezittert, gelacht, gelitten und kurz darüber nachgedacht, meinen Job zu kündigen. Aber eines ist klar: Die Welt hat diese fünf Pizzerien nicht ohne Grund zum Kult erhoben. Sie sind verrückt, brutal, legendär und unvergesslich.

The effects of the Second World War were far-reaching -- Cyprus included. While initial reactions to the war were muted, the dynamic shifted dramatically when Greece entered the fray, spurring Cypriots to enlist in large numbers to serve King and Country. Much like in World War I, many Cypriots served as muleteers, but this time, direct action was far more likely. Thousands of Greek, Turkish, Armenian and Maronite Cypriots were deployed across the globe, including Egypt, Greece, and, most notably, Monte Cassino, Italy. They were among those evacuated at Dunkirk, flew missions with the RAF, and tragically, some even perished in concentration camps. The Cypriot war dead are commemorated in 23 different countries and across 72 cenotaphs, with notable locations including France, Germany, Poland -- and as far afield as Singapore and China. Italy holds the largest number of Cypriot graves, with volunteers interred in 18 separate cemeteries. But the war also left its mark on Cyprus itself, with the island enduring air raids, social change -- and even bombings. It may even hold the distinction of being the only allied country to "suffer air raids on the same day by three different air forces." (William Battershill, Governor of Cyprus 1939-1941). How were Cypriots trained for service? Who was recruited, and what challenges did they face upon their return? To explore these questions and more, I'm joined by Dr. Marios Siammas to discuss Cyprus in the Second World War!
