The weekend is here and I'm ready to take a nap. Took the bus trip to Milwaukee yesterday for the Brewer game and while I had a lot of fun, got home WAY past my bedtime last night and didn't get much sleep before coming to work this morning. So, I definitely see a siesta in my future plans this afternoon. In the news this morning, the latest on the escaped kangaroo in Wisconsin, the TSA lines are really bad all over the country but there are ways to check ahead to see just how long the lines are, President Trump's signature is going to appear on US currency, Dash Crofts passes away at age 87, and apparently…some people are finding out that their short flights are being replaced with bus rides…just like in "Home Alone". In sports, the Brew Crew got a nice win over the White Sox yesterday, the Bucks play tomorrow afternoon and only have 11 games left in the regular season, a recap of yesterday's Sweet 16 action and a look at this weekend's men's & women's tournaments. Plus, the Badger men's hockey team beats Dartmouth to advance in the Frozen Four. We talked about what's on TV this weekend and what's new in theaters. Netflix raises their prices AGAIN!!!! And a new, animated "Stranger Things" series is coming next month! Elsewhere in sports, Tom Brady recently asked the NFL about returning to the field to play quarterback, and Hootie is buying into a NASCAR team! A Boy Scout recently got a very rare honor after saving his Scout Master's life, a couple of State Troopers in Maryland are getting recognized for saving and infant's life, and a woman is reunited with her dog after it went missing NINE years ago! Brian recapped his bus trip to the Brewer game yesterday. Doc joined us to talk racing thanks to County Materials in Holmen & in Eau Claire. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a KFC pickle jacket, an officer that was drunk on-duty, a #FloridaMan who drove onto an airport runway and tried getting onto a couple of planes, and a #FloridaMan who tried to save his vehicle from hail damage during a recent storm.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We've all been there. You're on a night out, you head to the final club of the evening and the queue is longer than a love letter to Ainsley Harriott. So you take the afters back to your house! Sure, you pick up a few stragglers on the way, but everyone knows everyone else, right?… RIGHT?! No one would have a random man in their house for seven hours that no one else knew, would they? There are mysteries aplenty here, plus why Jack HATES paella. Like, legitimately - we all got a bit scared.GOT A PROBLEM? NEED SOME OF OUR BAD ADVICE?
Danny Lledó is the chef and owner of Xiquet and Taller de Xiquet. The former is a Michelin-starred, tasting-menu restaurant in Washington, D.C., and the latter offers similar food in an à la carte setting downstairs. Born in the United States, Lledó comes from a family of cooks—his father is an accomplished chef from Dénia, Spain, located between Valencia and Alicante, and he focuses on that region's cuisine at his restaurants, particularly paella. That rice dish is the centerpiece of his tasting menu, which starts with small plates and ends with dessert and drinks outside the dining room on the restaurant's mezzanine.Lledó is the most awarded paella chef in the United States, with six first-place honors in competitions such as the Paella Wine & Beer Festival in Los Angeles. His was named the best Valencian Paella at PaellaFest in Washington, D.C., and it won the people's choice award at the Paella Wine & Beer Festival in California's Orange County. He recently discussed his paella and other aspects of Valencian culture and the D.C. dining scene for this podcast.
Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/atzeschroeder_offiziell/ Hosted on Acast.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Valencia Property podcast. Remember that today's episode is sponsored by Paella. Yes, the dish. Paella wanted to sponsor us because, and I quote, "We've been bringing people together around a shared pan for centuries, and apparently that's your whole philosophy about community and Spanish living." Fair point, Paella. Fair point. Today we talk about buying as an individual rather than a company, mortgages on Spanish property and work life balance in Valencia before taking a look at Zebra Blocks and new architecture and whether they work in new neighbourhoods in and around Valencia. In this 2nd episode of 5 O' Clock Apron Podcast with Good Food, Owen welcomes Claire into his gorgeous kitchen in Bristol and sets about cooking with a confidence and flair that can only come from people cook often and cook well. Owen Punselie works for Bristol Waste and Recycling managing a squad of 12 people working in waste management in the city of Bristol. He's also an American full football scholarship alumni and fairly new to his role with Bristol Waste; “As jobs go, it's a great cardiovascular workout,” he tells Claire, “you also end up walking up to 12 miles on shift with each recycling truck being responsible for processing the waste of up to 750 houses each day.” Owen introduces himself as Dutch with Nigerian heritage, mentions he likes Spanish food, not too keen on vegetables, and he really likes coconut milk. Owen tells Claire he's going to show her how to make Paella, the coconut milk mystifies Claire, there is also Jerk seasoning and Soy Sauce in the line-up, not everyday paella ingredients. Owen can cook, it was his mum who taught him, and so with the pan bubbling and the kitchen smelling delicious, Claire and Owen ditch calling it paella, renaming the recipe instead, Owen's Spicy Coconut Chicken Rice. Owen was a delight to cook with for the podcast, an absolute gentleman, who recycles with gusto. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
