Show Summary: Johnny is alive and back stronger than ever!! Recorded before his absence, Johnny and Raylene talk to Marc Clair of the Lions of Liberty podcast about their documentary, “…And Live Free!” - Marc confides what he would most like to be remembered for, how Lions of Liberty was started, and why he tries to avoid all of the ceaseless libertarian drama. Then Johnny turns the tables on Marc and gives him the “Rocket Fire - Harvard Edition” treatment, where Marc really struggles to answer Johnny’s questions. And lastly, Raylene brings the sandwiches. About the Guest: After being inspired by the 2008 Presidential campaign of Ron Paul, Marc co-founded the Lions of Liberty brand and website with three of his fellow Penn State alumni. That website soon evolved from opinion pieces and daily news articles into the Lions of Liberty podcast, which Marc founded in 2013. Over the last six years, Lions of Liberty has become a leading platform for libertarian voices in the alternative media. About the Host: Johnny “Rocket” Adams was the creator and host of “The Johnny Rocket Launch Pad – Libertarian Rock n’ Roll Experience” and now “BLAST OFF with Johnny Rocket!” He’s also a musician, graphic artist, author, and former Chief Warrant Officer. Johnny spent his early days earning his stripes as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army. Back stateside, Johnny immersed himself in the classic works of Murray Rothbard, Henry Hazlitt, and Ludwig von Mises. From there the AnCap known as “Johnny Rocket” was born. Speaking truth to power from your cell phone tower, Johnny digests the philosophy of liberty and brings them to the man on the street on a weekly basis. Johnny Rocket was also the front-man of the rockabilly group “Hot Roddin’ Romeos” and puts pencil to paper with the critically acclaimed comic series “The Liberty Force.” New York Times best-selling author and podcast host Tom Woods calls Johnny Rocket “one of the most entertaining figures in the liberty movement.” About the Co-Host: Raylene Lightheart is an activist in the libertarian movement. She is a dedicated wife and homeschool mom of five. She is passionate about self-ownership, free association community, and unfettered liberty. Raylene is the director of marketing and sales of Launchpad Media Group. She is the assistant communications director for Libertarian Party of Washington State and also serves as Region 3 alternate. She also is on the board of Libertarian Party of Kitsap County and was awarded the 2018 Porcupine Award for LPWA. As a child, Raylene dreamed of being in broadcasting. When Johnny asked her to be the co-host for his new show, Blast Off! With Johnny Rocket she was thrilled to have the opportunity to advance liberty through education, outreach, and entertainment. About Ground Control: Benjamin Wiegold is a fellow Libertarian, from the corrupt state of Illinois. Ben is the new producer, sound engineer, and editor of the Blast Off! With Johnny Rocket. Ben has also done work for the Mises Institute and numerous other publications. Ben is a musician, hardcore anarchist, and just an all-around cool dude! The inaugural episode! First, Gibran talks to us about getting stuff for free when Best Buy messes up your order... or at least he thinks it might be for free. This leads into some talk about how your host once carried a television set home from a Best Buy because the taxi driver he called wouldn't put it in his car. Much hilarity ensues. Next, Johnny and Gibran tell Robert about a former co-worker of theirs, which leads into a discussion of the hierarchy of nerdosity. Then Johnny reveals that he is heading to New York City and Gibran and Robert give him some advice, not all of which is useful. Somehow, this turns into a discussion of vagrants. Finally, Johnny talks about what they'll be doing with the stuff that did not make it into the first podcast (because yes, even in a first podcast there is much to be chopped out!). Johnny, Gibran, and Robert all reveal themselves to be bad people, and that's where it ends... for now. My Podcast Alley feed! {pca-2cbb2532560cc2119a9da6eb2255dc05}
