This week the Binge Buddies tackle the Fede Alvarez follow-up to the Sam Raimi Evil Dead Trilogy, simply named Evil Dead.
This week the boomstick comes out as the Binge Buddies tackle Army of Darkness in their Evil Dead franchise retrospective.
EVIL DEAD 2! check us out on Youtube for more!
Groovy, baby. The Binge Buddies return for a new show, and this one is a doozy. They're talking all things Evil Dead, beginning where it all began and getting into so much trouble from there.
The Halloween Horrorthon continues truckin' along and we have a delightfully demonic treat for this installment! This week, Bruce Campbell gets groovy with some Deadites as David and Justus talk about this classic slapstick splatter fest! Open up the Necronomicon and recite the incantations to find out if this is the Greatest Movie Ever Made! Evil Dead II (1987) is directed by Sam Raimi and stars Bruce Campbell, Sarah Berry, Dan Hicks, Kassie DePaiva, and Ted Raimi Music: “Fractals” by Kyle Casey and White Bat Audio
Syndicated Source Material #050 - Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash "Nightmare Warriors"Original Air Date - 10/26/2015In this special Halloween episode of the Source Material Podcast, Jesse Starcher is joined by Gavin Napier to revisit one of their most thrilling past discussions: Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash: Nightmare Warriors, the explosive follow-up to their previous coverage of the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash comic series. Just in time for spooky season, they dive deep into the second installment of this brutal crossover that brings together some of the most iconic horror figures in pop culture. The episode begins with some reflections on the difficulty of finding this rare six-issue miniseries. Gavin recounts how these comics are hard to come by and how the team scraped together their digital copies just in time for the recording. Once set, the duo launches into an in-depth discussion of the creative team, the series' art style, and the continuation of the bizarre lore that ties Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Ash Williams together. The story picks up with Jason Voorhees being extracted from the bottom of Crystal Lake by federal agents, while Ash tries to live a peaceful suburban life, grill spatula in... arm? However, peace doesn't last long as Jason's inevitable return drags Ash, along with a host of survivors from the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street franchises, back into the fight against the relentless slasher villains. The pair discuss key elements of the plot, such as the role of the Necronomicon in controlling Jason, and how Freddy Krueger gets resurrected by a rogue government plot that goes horribly awry.Jesse and Gavin examine the expanded cast, including a slew of familiar faces from both horror franchises like Tommy Jarvis and Tina Shepard, and how the story taps into the backstories of these characters, creating an epic showdown of ultimate survivor vs. ultimate horror icons. The guys also break down the action-packed sequences where Freddy and Jason wreak havoc across Washington D.C., culminating in a massive battle with the U.S. military and the unleashed army of Deadites. As always, the episode is filled with fun commentary on the over-the-top action, the grisly deaths, and how the comic's art does its best to capture the sheer chaos of Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash: Nightmare Warriors. This is a must-listen for fans of slasher horror, comic crossovers, and anyone looking for a bit of nostalgia mixed with some Halloween-season fun.
Let spooky season start, and what an amazing movie to start this autumn scarefest off with! Robert Winfree, Dorian Price, Jesse Starcher and Mark Radulich present their Ash vs Evil Dead Season 1 TV Show Review! Ash vs Evil Dead is an American comedy horror television series developed by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy for Starz. The series is set in the Evil Dead universe created by Raimi, with Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash Williams from the film series. Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, and Lucy Lawless also star. The series premiered on October 31, 2015.The series is set approximately 30 years after the first three Evil Dead films and serves as a sequel to that trilogy. Ash Williams works at the "Value Stop" as a simple stock boy. Also working at the store is his friend Pablo and the object of Pablo's affections, Kelly. Ash has seemingly done very little with his life since returning from 1300 AD at the end of Army of Darkness, and the beginning of the series sees him living in a trailer and drinking alone in bars. However, Ash must soon renounce his routine existence and become a hero once more by taking up arms and facing the titular Evil Dead. Pablo and Kelly decide to join him on his quest to save humanity.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59
This week we start a new film review cask on some classic horror films we've yet to cover and up first in the ultimate experience in grueling terror, The Evil Dead. Journey with us as we discuss the grassroots road to make this film and discuss all unique ways the filmmakers got by the low budget. Is this one of the most important horror films of all time or is this one terribly overrated. Our Flight this week is picking our top 3 favorite male characters in horror films and we wrap with a Nightcap picking 3 horror films that would make good TV shows. So pour some rye, grab your copy of the Necronomican, and get ready to fight some Deadites. Cheers! Click Here for Rye Smile Films Merchandise. Happy Monday, Christmas fanatics! We were going to wait to drop this episode until midway through October, but since life got in the way this week and we didn't get around to recording our episode on "The Addams Family" - and given the fact this episode is six-and-a-half episodes - we decided to drop this Spooky Season treat now so you have time to listen to it in full before Halloween! You've heard us refer to it a few times already in other episodes, but it's finally here: The 2024 "Tis the Podcast" Ultimate Horror Movie Bracket! In this special episode, which is becoming an annual tradition, Anthony is joined by a whole slew of special guests and self-labeled horror aficionados to determine the best horror movie amongst those listed on this year's bracket, March Madness style! The guests include: Ron Hogan and Lindsey Grelis of "Film Strip Podcast" Kendal Farrae of "Two Girls One Crypt" Matt Spaulding of "North Pole Radio" Listen as they debate and argue in real time to determine which horror movies advance through this NCAA-esque scary movie bracket as iconic films are pitted against one another in four different "divisions" for a chance to be named the best horror movie! Are Horror-comedies scary enough to go far? Will Art the Clown or Jigsaw best the other? Does Ghostface stand a chance against Michael Myers in the battle of the Legacy Sequels? Can The Warrens make it all the way again? Is "Lisa Frankenstein" too quirky to defeat "Jennifer's Body"? Is Pearl a scarier psychopath than little "Orphan" Esther? Do the Predators or the Xenomorphs star in the better prequel film? Will Zombies or Deadites reign supreme in the battle of the remakes? Which found footage franchise will go furthest this year? Is Annabelle or The Nun the scarier monster to get its own spinoff in "The Conjuring"-verse? All of these questions and much, much more are answered in this extraordinarily fun episode full of quotes, impressions, trivia, nostalgia, serenading, and laughs. This is one you definitely do not want to miss - even if it'll take you a few sittings to finish it given its length. (That's What She Said.) But that's what happens when you get a bunch of scary movie buffs onto a recording together - there's a lot of passionate gushing and vigorous debate going on here in an episode that took three recordings and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to finish, which is why we've decided once again to drop this in your main feed instead of on Patreon. So settle in with your Pumpkin Spice Lattes, relax, and enjoy! And make sure to let us known on social media what your hosts got right, what they got wrong, and which horror movie you think should have come out on top this year! As always, thanks for your love and support, y'all! ❤️
Hey there, horror buffs and fellow peace-seekers! It's time for another thrilling episode of The Rotten Horror Picture Show. Today, Clay and Amanda kick of their summer cabin series by diving into the gory, ghastly world of Sam Raimi's horror classic, The Evil Dead, starring the iconic Bruce Campbell. But before we get into the nitty-gritty, let me vent a little—I'm the long-suffering neighbor of that infamous haunted cabin, and let me tell you, the noise coming from there is driving me up the wall!Living next to a cabin in the woods should be the epitome of tranquility, right? Wrong. Ever since that group of college kids showed up with their ancient book and reckless curiosity, my peaceful haven has turned into a non-stop horror show. There's the endless screaming, the unholy monster growls, and don't even get me started on the incessant chainsaw buzzing. How's a person supposed to relax with all that racket?Clay and Amanda are about to dissect the chaos and carnage that make The Evil Dead a cult classic, but I've been living the nightmare in real time. The film's gore-splattered scenes, the relentless terror, and Bruce Campbell's unforgettable performance as Ash are all topics of discussion. Meanwhile, I'm here, just trying to enjoy a quiet evening with a cup of tea, constantly interrupted by demonic howls and chainsaw duels. As Clay and Amanda explore the inventive scares and over-the-top horror that Raimi masterfully delivers, I'll be counting down the days until those possessed trees and shrieking Deadites finally give it a rest. So, join me in plugging in those noise-cancelling headphones and tuning into the latest episode of The Rotten Horror Picture Show. Maybe, just maybe, Clay and Amanda can explain why anyone would willingly put themselves through this cacophony of terror. And if you happen to see Bruce Campbell swinging that chainsaw around, do me a favor—tell him to keep it down! With that said, let's dive into the madness of The Evil Dead and hope we come out the other side with our sanity intact.
It's been a long time coming and now we're finally taking on the Deadites from the Evil Dead franchise and exploring the series' most significant entry - Evil Dead 2! Topics include: the initial plans for Army of Darkness to be the first sequel, why it was scaled back into more of a remix of the original film instead, the massive shift in tone, our favorite sequences, how they pulled off some of the most memorable effects, where this one ranks for us amongst the other entries, and much more! In October 1981, a little film made by a crew from Michigan at a cabin in Tennessee on a shoestring(ish) budget changed horror cinema forever by introducing the world to Bruce Campbell's chin and a fancy new kind of DEAD EVIL called the Deadites. We discuss Sam Raimi's First Film, The Evil Dead, and delve into all the storied gore that springboarded one of Hollywood's great and dynamic directors! We also talk about teeth, bugs, and Garf in the MouthGarf Report. And we play a rousing game of I See What You Did There! We're not out of the cabin yet! That's right, it's time to unearth vol. 2 of our analysis of 1981's THE EVIL DEAD as we dip into the film's ferocious second half with the help of Returning Champion, the one - the only - Elissa Wagner!! Along the way, we delve into how Ashley transforms into Ash, how Uncle Stephen King helped propel the film into the order cult cannon, explore the endless charms of stop motion monsters, invoke the Dog Police music video, consider bone flutes, and ask whether this group will be getting their cleaning deposit back!! All this, plus an oatmeal drenched-edition of Choose Your Won Deathventure, and we consider how many graves we could really dig in one night!! We're not ready to leave Halloween behind, so we're kicking off the month with a comedy-horror classic courtesy of Sam Raimi. After spending not one but two sylvan getaways battling Deadites courtesy of the Necronomicon Ex Mortis (in The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn), S-Mart employee Ash Williams takes the ultimate unplugged vacation all the way back to the year 1300 in Medieval England. Up against time with an army of Deadites storming the castle, Ash must overcome the lack of technology and his own evil twin to get back to the future. Starring Bruce Campbell, the film was neither a commercial nor critical success, but has gone on to join the first two films as cult favorites. Now we're swallowing the juice, saying the magic words, and taking our chainsaw hands to Army of Darkness! A cabin in the woods. A group of college friends. And a book in the cellar someone just cannot stop themselves from reading. These are the basic elements that create one of the most lasting horror franchises of all time - and it's our starting point for Season Five of the Kill By Kill podcast talking about the one, the only, the original - The Evil Dead!! Listen along with us as we crack the flesh-covered spine of the Necronomicon, explore Sudden Oatmeal Syndrome, wonder why a blender somehow makes the trip, unlock the unpredictable elements that make the film so compelling, and learn a new rule: there's always a La Quinta! All this, plus we recount how much we hate Scott, we resurrect a variation of Choose Your Own Deathventure, and we introduce a new character we like to call, “HOA Deadite!” We're going more in-depth than a Sam Raimi close-up of Bruce Campbell's monobrow on our first Evil Dead episode of the season!! CW: This episode does discuss the woodland SA that occurs in the movie. If such conversations are not something you wish to hear about, we suggest skipping that section. Dustin and Logan are finally getting around to the next installment of their Evil Dead series by covering the 1987 gonzo-horror-comedy masterpiece, Evil Dead II aka Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn. It's probably the most important film in the Evil Dead canon. It kinda remakes the first one, sets up the tone for the future, and fully forms the character of Ash Williams. Logan and Dustin get into all of it. They go through the film's madness, cover the stories behind the scenes, and attempt to clarify the rules of the Deadites. They also pitch their own Evil Dead films so be sure to stay to the end to hear about Evil Dead in Space and Good Dead.

The cast of The Wicked Wild joins Caitlin to cover 2013's Evil Dead - a movie that showed us remakes can be awesome. We talk about the incredible practical effects, themes of addiction and family, and the over-arching aspects of the monstrous-feminine and the wicked-wilderness that make this the perfect movie for a Wicked Wild / Plug It Up crossover. We really love this one, and we have a great time laughing together. Tangents include: salt water taffy, cros/croots, monsters of our childhood, FMKs, favorite trees, rings, pants-shitting, snails, Golden Corral, extra limbs, appetizers, heroes, and subreddits. Be sure to check out The Wicked Wild, Loremasters of the Absurd, and Texas Chain Paw Massacre.

The latest installment in the long-running Evil Dead series, “Evil Dead Rise,” brings the Deadites out of the woods (and Middle Ages) and into a condemned apartment building. Tune in as we break down all the gory grossness, our favorite lines from the possessed mom (she had quite a few zingers), and whether this sequel lived up to all the hype.
This week we're discussing the latest film in the Evil Dead series, "Evil Dead Rise"
The Deadites return to theaters, so COME GET SOME! This week, we review EVIL DEAD RISE and ask a very serious question: is this the bloodiest movie ever made? It honestly might be. Guinness World Records need to look into this one. Also, we briefly chat about Evil Dead 2013, the ongoing Jonathan Majors situation, and YANNI. Yes, Yanni of all people. Is he Greek? After becoming possessed in “The Evil Dead,” Betsy Baker's sweet, innocent Linda transforms into one of the most memorable Deadites — taunting Bruce Campbell's Ash with a menacing lullaby and high-pitched laughter. Tune in to hear all about making the original film in this popular horror series, how the idea for her Deadite character came to be, and how everyone in her PTA found out about her iconic role.
Hail to the King, baby! No, we haven't gone all Coronation crazy, folks. Instead, this week's Empire Podcast sees the return of Chris Hewitt's beloved possessed GOAT boy, and all-time favourite filmmaker, Sam Raimi, who rocks up on Zoom to talk about the return of the Evil Dead in Lee Cronin's Evil Dead Rise. Plus, they talk about -- you'll never guess -- a little film called Evil Dead II, that Chris might have mentioned once or twice on the podcast. But also, hail to the Queen, baby! Chris also has a fun chat, about Deadites, dreams and snakes, with the star of Evil Dead Rise, Australian actress Alyssa Sutherland. Perhaps best listen to that once you've seen the movie. Then, afflicted by the lurgy and dodgy air con, this week's pod was recorded in the virtual podbooth, with Chris joined by Helen O'Hara and James Dyer for a fun chat about the best movie character names for babies, a trawl through what passes for the week's movie news, and reviews of Evil Dead Rise, Ghosted, Missing, and The Three Musketeers: D'Artagnan. Not to be confused, of course, with Dogtanian And The Three Muskehounds. All together now: one for all and all for one! Enjoy!
