For the fourth year in a row, we are watching and discussing the infamous and shocking horror film, "A Serbian Film". Once again, listen to us discuss the atrocities visited upon us by this brutal movie. But always, we promise to talk about it as wholesomely as possible."A Serbian Film" was directed by Srdjan Spasojevic, and follows an ex-porn star as he's lured into doing one last movie that promises to pay for his son's entire college tuition and help his financially struggling family.Feel free to send us a message! This week on High Society Radio, Chris Faga, Chris Stanley, and special guest Mike Rainey break down the NCAA brackets, Epstein Island's worst bartender, and how long until every woman is a pornstar. Plus, the dark side of Hollywood, Ozempic conspiracies, and the absolute rug-pull of Pregnant Butt Coin.
We're a little behind this week, so for the sake of you all out there, please enjoy this older episode. Its a big hitter but we had a lot of fun recording it.

In Jack Clark and Jim Weir's BIRDEATER, a Aussie bride-to-be (Shabana Azeez) is invited to her fiance's (Mackenzie Fearnley) "bucks party" - a bachelor party to us in the States, but god, doesn't that just sound cooler? She's not alone, as one of the boys also brings his girlfriend to this cabin in the Outback, but it's more of a friend-of-a-friend situation. Drinks flow, silliness inflates, but that's the thing about these kinds of nights: There's always a point of no return. The alcohol tips secrets over the edge. Once those come out, it's like trying to suck toothpaste back into the tube. It just can't happen. What results is a nervous death of a thousand cuts. Every conversation grows tense, regardless of who's speaking to whom. Passive aggression becomes a de facto state and no one's coming out of this party socially unscathed. Hostile, squawking jazz pairs with a bipolar camera designed against comfort. It either swirls wildly around its subjects like a cracked-out carousel or stops still, unflinchingly observing the most excruciating social crucifixions. And yet, this movie isn't A SERBIAN FILM, MARTYRS nor anything of that explicitly vicious ilk. What unsettles about BIRDEATER is how much these people inevitably remind me of folks I know. These portrayals bound between shifting perspectives and ideologies to a degree that makes it seem Weir and Clark refute each other's concerns about these people in real-time. The movie debates itself on matters of social hierarchy, emotional abuse, consent, otherism and the simple, yet debilitating matter of leaving your '20s with something constructive to show for it, despite your hedonistic, paranoid, terrified efforts to the contrary. --- Follow, rate & review The Movies on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, wherever you drizzle velvety film conversations inside your ear canals. The "Dirty Sons of Pitches" might have finally met their match when it comes to the closer of their Flop Era series, examining the most notorious flops and fiascos in film history. This week it's the dud that became infamous and recognizeable just by name alone -- it's 1987's "Ishtar"! How bad can a movie be starring Waren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman as bad lounge singers stumbling through the desert be? The answer is unfathomably bad, especially if you're like the guys and find every second of the bad singing to be painful. It;s time to bid goodbye to this series, which might be the worst idea these guys have ever had, and they watched "A Serbian Film" on purpose. Available on Spotify and Apple Episode 421 includes: -The Presidential Debate has finally put the focus on the issues that matter: whether immigants are stealing and then eating our pets. -R.I.P. James Earl Jones and comic artist John Cassaday. -Nate has some words on "Longlegs" and "Alien: Romulas." -Ben is mildly disappointed by "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice." -The Flop Era -- "Ishtar" (1987) -There's no going back once you've endured "Ishtar." You might as well listen to their madness and pained cries as the guys try and make sense of all the ways this movie did not work for them at all.

Perhaps infamously known as one of the most difficult films, A Serbian Film has been disgusting audiences since 2010. For our second round of difficult films, it's only fair we tackle this offensive classic to throw our own input into the mix. We talk the grit and grime of this movie, its production values, whether it has redeeming value, and a whole lot more on this very special episode. Hopefully not too many red flags here. We're also drinking Fidens Brewing's Accelerant DDH Double IPA. While it may not be considered a difficult film today, A Clockwork Orange has always been deemed a shocking affair thanks to Stanley Kubrick's display of deviancy and debauchery. Here, we take a look at the film and explore the themes of reform, incarceration, moral choice, and a whole lot more; and also, yes there's talk of all the phallic imagery and sexuality on display. Chained (2012), Honeymoon (2014), and Relic (2020) With over 60 episodes so far in our podcast history, we realized that in all that we covered, we had never covered anything by a woman director. We knew we needed to change that. Going through the history of women directors, we realized that not only wasn't something new, but have been working in the industry since the beginning of film. And in the last two decades, have really started to show their stuff. So to help celebrate Women's History Month, we figured it was well past due that we tackle three films that were directed by women, once again, picking three random titles, but amazed to find just how similar they were to each other, not to mention being very effective in their craft, and storytelling. Movies mentioned in this episode: American Mary (2012), Army of Darkness (1992), The Babadook (2014), Chained (2012), Cockney vs Zombies (2012), Coffy (1973), Dead Hooker in a Trunk (2009), Fear Street: Part One 1994 (2021), Fear Street: Part Two 1978 (2021), Fear Street: Part Three 1666 (2021), Ganja and Hess (1973), Ginger Snaps (2000), Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988), Honeymoon (2014), Humanoids from the Deep (1980), In My Skin (2002), Inside (2007), Invasion of the Body Snatcher (1956), Kids (1995), Look What Happened to Rosemary's Baby (1976), Maniac (1980), The Monster and the Girl (1914), Near Dark (1987), The Nightingale (2018), Pet Sematary (1989), The Pit and the Pendulum (1913), The Relic (1997), Relic (2020), A Serbian Film (2010), The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Starry Eyes (2014), Slumber Party Massacre (1982), Street Trash (1987), The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014), Vampire (1915)

A Serbian Film (Serbian: Српски филм, romanized: Srpski film) is a 2010 Serbian exploitation horror film produced and directed by Srđan Spasojević in his feature directorial debut, with Aleksandar Radivojević co-writing. It tells the experience of a financially struggling pornstar who agrees to participate in an "art film", only to discover that he has been drafted into a snuff film with pedophilic and necrophilic themes. The film stars Serbian actors Srđan Todorović, Sergej Trifunović, and Jelena Gavrilović.
Video Nasties Month just got nastier… And sleazier… And bloodier… This week on The Blind Rage Podcast, Tony and I sit down to watch Romano Scavolini's 1981 splatterfest NIGHTMARE a.k.a. NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN. Steeped in controversy, this slice of acquired taste is remembered by many horror fans due to its excessive gore, censorship, and false accusations of Tom Savini being part of the crew. Aside from that, there isn't much going on here. The storyline is quite thin. A maniac escapes from an institution and goes on a killing spree, which leads him to Florida, where a woman who may or not be his ex-wife, and children who may or may not be his offspring, currently reside. I consider this to be in the same box as A SERBIAN FILM. Something for those who fancy themselves hardcore genre fans to see simply to satisfy their own morbid curiosity. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/blindragepod/message
We have got a real Halloween treat for you on this episode. Spooky season is in full effect, so what better time to unveil this lost episode of Death By DVD? Originally recorded October 2022, this episode was completely and totally lost! Immediately after recording this episode, the file was lost and the original file deleted! A year later in September 2023, Harry-Scott found the missing file, which by accident had been placed in the wrong spot, almost certain to never be found. BUT THANKFULLY the episode was found, restored and slightly edited! We wanted to offer you something that was more "uncut" and "raw" compared to most episodes, seeing as this has been lost for an entire year! The following episode was recorded with 9 days left in the month of October 2022, which was a BIG year for Death By DVD when it comes to the Halloween franchise! We hope you enjoy this episode, and when you've finished listening to it, don't forget our other Halloween episodes! Vi pratar också om: Johan Theorin, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Jurtjyrkogården, Whitley Strieber, Närkontakt, Noroi: The Curse, Nocturnal Animals, Cannibal Ferox, Mortal Kombat 2, Silencer, Death. Pierce Me, Andreas Roman, Cannibal Holocaust, Human Centipede 2, Hostel-sviten, A Serbian Film, Mats Strandberg, The Babadook, Pestens tid, Magnus Blomdahl, Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento, Gates of Hell-trilogin, Phenomena, Suspiria, Herman Geijer, Walking Dead, Last of Us, World War Z, Hanteringen av odöda, John Ajvide Lindqvist, Fredagen den 13e, Crispin Glover, 28 dagar senare, Atterados, Gabrielle de Bourg, Host, Rörelsen, The Vigil, Saint Maud, Pandemic, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Sara Bergmark Elfgren, Stuart Gordon, H.P. Lovecraft, Stanley Kubrick, The Great God Pan, Arthur Machen, Dr. Strangelove, 2001, The Shing, Stephen King, J.S. Axell, Mörk stad, Mörkt land, Pinhead, Pennywise, Jonas Larsson Olanders, Eloso förlag, Låt den rätte komma in, The Woman in Black, Hajen, Clive Barker, The Forbidden, Candyman, Bret Easton Ellis, American Psycho, The Haunting of Hill House, Shirley Jackson, Vacancy, Nils Alatalo, Svartklubb, Voidcaller, Alien, Blade Runner, Dark City, Warhammer 40K, E.T, Aniara, Harry Martinsson, FromBeyond, Creep, Mark Duplass, Sadako, The Ring, The Grudge, Magnus Jäverling, The Thing, Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Eyes Wide Shut, Fredagen den 13e, Halloween, Joni Huttunen, Lights Out och Eden Lake. Sen blir det lika mycket till för våra patrons, som dessutom ställt frågorna. Utöver nostalgi, löst tyckande och akademisk analys begravs också både programformat och oss själva.

Hello, It's the secretary here taking over the write up since I am getting this out a little late in the month. I discuss The Strangers, Mandy and A Serbian Film. All three films share some similarities but the theme I pulled out and will discuss further in the psychology portion, is desperation. I'm sure we all have experienced this one way or another and it has compelled us to do things that we may be embarrassed of once we gain clarity as in one of our films but it also has the power to make us take risk when we may not otherwise do so. These risk may lead to our demise or triumph. Either way it forces movement and progression and that is what has allowed our civilization to continue and grow since the beginning of time.

***Fair Warning*** There is a lot of language that is not generally present in many of the interviews here. This is presented almost in full to relish in the realism of those involved in the interview. *** Unearthed Films has a long and storied reputation in the home video industry. At the head of the company is Stephen Biro. Stephen has directed multiple films and released countless others ranging from Rock&Rule to A Serbian Film. I was able to have a long and incredibly interesting (and entertaining) conversation with Stephen and discuss his various experiences in the market, share his disgust with bootlegging, and even laugh about how he has filmed extreme films in AirBnBs. In this episode, the Halloween season is upon us. While Michael enjoys a slight hiatus, Jason and Dustin delve down into the darkest depths to spend all month talking about Extreme Horror. Just like last year, we're coming at you with one episode a week all month long. It all kicks off with one of the most infamous and controversial horror films of all time: Srđan Spasojević's A Serbian Film from 2010. Jason navigates discussing the film's touchier subject matter. Dustin tries to understand the age old question regarding whether the film exists purely for shock or if it's a vehicle for some sort of meaningful message. Before we destroy our souls discussing the film, we spend some time giving a whirlwind overview of the subgenre as usual and share what our own personal hardest film watches have been. And so much more!
