No video again, we are in the process of creating a studio here at our office. In the meantime check out this episode where we discuss red flags to look out for to ensure you are getting the best service with your financial professionals. The financial industry is one of the most regulated industries and many notable scams come to mind. Here is what to look out for from an insider's perspective, we also go over some things that others may consider red flags but we do them here at Crosby advisory. WE ARE NOT saying any of these mean a financial professional has bad intentions or isnt doing a good job, but these are things to be prepared for and have an extra guard up for.

Keeping Together, the saison-focused project from Averie Swanson, has brought world-class mixed culture farmhouse-style beers to Chicago - if even for all too short of a time. We catch up with Averie about the future of Keeping Together as its time in Chicago comes to a close, but we also talk with the Master Cicerone and former co-owner/head brewer at Jester King about her evolution as a brewer and business owner - and it feels like she's just getting started. Also, we extol the virtues of saison as a style, discuss the ups and downs of destination breweries, praise a few more local saison makers, explore the inspiration behind her beer names, and consider a few Chicago delicacies like Home Depot hot dogs and Chicago Handshakes. Then, there's a whole other segment where Craig and Ryan drink through five Keeping Together beers and just go on and on about how great they are, so you should listen to that too. We also talk about special occasion fonts, pastry saisons, and a new take-home edition of Gushy. Interview with Averie Swanson (00:06:39 - 00:49:46) Beers Reviewed At The Still Point of the Turning World (Saison made with buckwheat and rye)We Are Not the Counter Culture (Saison brun) From the Outer Edge of Inner Space (Bitter saison with Galaxy hops and wildflower honey) The Grace of Maybe (Saison with peaches, vanilla, and lemongrass) Preoccupied with Memory and Expectation (Saison with Japanese Red Shiso leaf, burnt honey, and dry-hopped with Sabro hops)

In this episode of the Lives That Speak podcast, Bryan spoke to Liz Kleinrock ’05, an anti-bias, anti-racist educator and founder of Teach and Transform. We discuss curriculum development, how teachers can approach uncomfortable topics with their students, and the importance of calling in rather than calling out. A transracial adoptee, Liz was born in South Korea and grew up in DC before attending Washington University in St. Louis. When not in the classroom, Liz works as a facilitator for schools, organizations, and companies across the country, developing anti-racist curricula. Scripture For Today: Exodus 10:17 “Now, forgive my sin once more and pray to the Lord your God to take this deadly plague away from me.” God is Limited By Our Prayers pt 3Yesterday, we left off with a reference to the governments of this world being under the dominance of Satan and his demonic forces. That includes the government of the United States and our governing officials. From the President on down, if they are advocating for, promoting and encouraging ungodly acts, ungodly morals and ungodly laws, they are NOT agents of God for good. That may be a shock for some of you – but get over it. We ARE NOT of this world, IF you are a born again Christian. And here is another shocking fact: If you are attending a church that supports these ungodly people that promote ungodly conduct and behavior, there is a really, really good chance that your church leadership are really under the influence of demonic powers and not the Holy Spirit. “Brother Bob, come on…” you may say. But really, let's just look at it from a Biblical point of view ONLY. Keep politics out of it. No Democrat or Republican ideology. Just the Bible. Just the Word of God. ONLY. Now, if you have a problem with that off the bat – YOU are probably under a demonic influence yourself! I know I just made some demon possessed person mad right now. But look at some social issues this nation is facing right now and tell me what the Bible (and ONLY the Bible) has to say about the position a Christian should be taking. Are you ready? What does the Bible say about abortion? Murdering the innocent? What does the Bible have to say about child sacrifice? That's what abortion really is… What does the Bible have to say about homosexuality? What does the Bible have to say marriage between a man and a woman? What does the Bible say about selecting RIGHTEOUS leaders? What is a “righteous leader,” you may ask? It is one who FOLLOWS THE MORAL CODES OF THE BIBLE! I can name an entire political party that has taken a vow NOT to do that? Can you? What does the Bible say about obeying the laws of the land? Again, there are politicians at all levels of government that are advocating rioting in the streets, destroying property and other such things that violate almost every law on the books. Can they be righteous? I think not. Now, as we get ready to close today, let me ask you this question. Do you think God is going to answer the prayers of someone who is violating His moral commandments and laws? Again, I think not. Does God WANT TO BLESS US? Absolutely! He says so over and over and over in His Word? “Well, brother Bob, why doesn't He bless us then?” Because He cannot Bless what He has already cursed. And if you support a political party and put them in charge, a party that hates God, hates morality and hates law and order, God cannot bless it. He has already said those who do those things would live under the curse. They are not redeemed. And guess where that leaves us as a nation. Cursed. That is why all of these things are happening. If you were one of those demonic led individuals that voted for people that are leading you down the cursed path of life, you better repent and ask for forgiveness. Because time is running out. That's where I'll leave this for today. This is why God can't answer our prayers for deliverance. This country has chosen to follow Satan and his henchmen. God cannot bless what He has already cursed. If you were offended by this teaching today, go down below and leave a comment. If you were blessed by it and in agreement…do the same thing. Amen. Lady V’s Devotional Episode 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) says: “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) Devotional For the Christian, we struggle at times in our walk with Christ trying to do right. Let’s be honest—it’s hard! We’re not perfect—But, Jesus IS! He knows our struggles to make the right decisions daily. Sometimes it feels like driving at a high speed on a race track and all of a sudden we are spinning out of control. It’s scary and we feel like screaming, “God Help! God, how will I get back on course? The good news is that God is full of goodness, kindness, and mercy. He’s faithful to help us correct our course if we just look to His Word. HIS help is readily available to us who trust in HIS Word. God will never leave you, HIS LOVE is unconditional! You are adored by HIM! His plan for our lives has already factored in the mistakes you and I will make. And the good news is that God gave us HIS Word to help us get back on track and STAY ON COURSE. So don’t give up because you’ve hit a snag on the course. Keep moving and take God’s Word with you. Let’s Pray… Heavenly Father, We come to you in the name of Jesus—expecting to receive. Father God we thank you that we are already loved by you! And because of that great love you have for us, we can trust that nothing can take us out of your hands or your will. Help us to know that we can come boldly to the throne of grace to receive help in any time of need, no matter what we face or need help with. Father God, you are our EVERYTHING! We lack NO GOOD THING! You have already provided every need from the beginning. You know our frame, you know our thoughts, you know us better than we know ourselves, and you STILL love us! We praise you Heavenly Father for your faithfulness through your Word. Thank you that you have fit us with an armor to hold back the storms of life and face them with the boldness of Christ’s authority. You have empowered us through your Word and your Holy Spirit to correct whatever mistakes we’ve found ourselves in that needs correcting. If we get side-tracked on our course, God you are here to help us, correct us, and encourage us to not give up but —STAY ON COURSE. Father God, thank you that you have made even our mistakes work for our good. We WILL do all that you have purposed us to do in this life. We ARE NOT discarded BUT regarded as the children of the MOST HIGH GOD. Heavenly Father, we thank you for being OUR PERSON that always has our back. Let all you’ve planned for our lives be manifested so we can tell of how good you are to all that will listen. We thank you Heavenly Father, and we call this prayer answered in Jesus name. Amen, Amen, Amen! Grace and Peace to You! Have Faith in Jesus! And remember Jesus Is LORD!!! {Prayer Scriptures: Psalm 34:10, Psalm 103:14, John 10:28, Romans 8:28} Lady V More devotionals you may like Set Free for a New Start JESUS is the Faithful Love Rest in the Secret Place of GOD Listen to We R S.H.E.Talks Podcast with SD and Lady V Use web player above blog post to listen or subscribe and listen via your favorite podcast platform. In Toronto’s downtown eastside, Moss Park’s encampment is home to a lot of people with deep ties to the neighbourhood. Would you like to increase your chances of living to a ripe old age in good health? What is it that centenarians do to live to 100 and beyond? Let’s dive into some of the insights from Dan Buettner’s book, The Blue Zones, and talk about some of the common traits that centenarians have in these particular places. Visit https://www.bodyshotperformance.com/podcasts-blog for the complete show notes of every podcast episode. Topics Discussed in this Episode: Centenarians and the blue zones The 9 common traits among centenarians across the blue zones Natural movement and Animal Flow The 80% rule The power of belief Key Takeaways: The 5 places that have been identified as blue zones with the highest number of centenarians are Sardinia, Ikaria in Greece, Costa Rica, Loma Linda in California, and Okinawa in Japan. The 9 things centenarians have in common across the blue zones They move naturally. They have a very strong sense of purpose. They have a downshift. The 80% rule: Eat until you’re 80% full and then stop. They include lots of plants, especially beans, into their diet. Vegetables constitute a very big part of their diet and they eat only a very minimal amount of meat. They have moderate alcohol consumption. They belong to a faith-based community. For these people, the family came first. They belong to a tribe, meaning they have real social networks. Our bodies are designed for natural movement. The more we move our bodies naturally, the better our fitness, the better our musculature, the denser our bones, and the more freshly oxygenated blood get distributed throughout our body. Certain genetic predispositions can mean that you have a gene that allows you to convert very small amounts of alcohol into good cholesterol, but that’s not the case for everyone. Contribution and helping others are hugely beneficial for the nervous system, and therefore, for our overall health. We’re now coming to understand that loneliness is really impacting people’s health in a very significant way. Action Steps: Consider one or two (or more, if you can) of the traits that centenarians have and see if you can weave that into your lifestyle. Leanne said: “We want to live a full, happy, energetic, and vital life for as long a possible, rather than just living for as long as possible but perhaps not being useful or vital or having movement of our limbs, and be able to be mobile and sharp cognitively and all the rest of that stuff.” “Looking after, mentoring, guiding the younger generations was another thing that really made these older people, the older generation, feel vital and feel alive and feel useful. All of which, I think, is essential for overall wellbeing.” Thanks for listening! What do we do when we find ourselves in times of great suffering? What do we do when we feel like we’re in a pit? When we feel like we’re inside the belly of a fish–a place of darkness, hopelessness, and death? Jonah faced that same question and discovered the only thing he could do was surrender. And by surrendering in the midst of his suffering, Jonah discovered that the worst place turned out to be the best place, because the worst place turned out to be the place where he met God. THIS EPISODE’S HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:Markus talks about giving up his Hollywood dream.God “provided” a fish to swallow Jonah. The word, “provided,” could also be translated as “commissioned” or “appointed.” It is the same word used when a king commissioned an ambassador to carry out his will.If there is a single word to capture Jonah’s state in Jonah 2, it would be the word “down.” Jonah is sinking deeper and deeper. The sea in the ancient world represented chaos. The people of Israel has very little experience on the sea.Having been swallowed by the huge fish, Jonah finds himself in the worst possible place an Israelite could have imagined being. Yet, this is the place where he finally meets God.The worst place Jonah could have imagined turned out to be the best place because it is the place where he had a deep, profound encounter with God.Jonah discovers that the worst thing that ever happened to him is the best thing that ever happened to him.Stories can be broadly categorized as comedies and tragedies. Jonah is a comedy because it is a story in which life wins, hope wins, joy wins.In verse 8, Jonah says, “Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them.” Who is Jonah referring to? The Ninevites? The sailors? Or himself?Jonah is most likely referring to himself as one who has clung to worthless idols. In the belly of the fish, Jonah finally lets go of the idols to which he has been clinging—fear, anger, xenophobia.
