Tea with the Muse
Inviting the Muse starts with making the ritual of coffee - conscious - like this ☕️

Tea with the Muse

Making ritual conscious. First, there are three long spoons laid upon a napkin from Hawaii, handmade on top of a cutting board made by a teenage daughter. A cup from Monet's garden and the ingredients. First, filtered water in a teapot from New York. First, smelling roses from three beautiful godchildren.Laying out the honey from where I grew up, Lover's Lane. Grinding coffee, mold free and you beginthe whole thing I learned from a Muse by capitalizing the word Coffee and organizing the ingredients in beauty. Once the coffee has gone into the French press and the water has boiled The rest of the process begins. The scoop of honey goes into the cup. A scoop of coconut oil goes into the cup. Cinnamon and nutmeg and vanilla go into the cup and stir the little mash into a ball. When you put the water into the French press, don't forget to set your alarm for 5.33 minutes, and only then do you froth the half and half. When the time feels right after you've looked out the window and pet the cats and pondered your attitude for the day, only then do you add the half and half, the milky foamy substance Into the mix in the cup. And then you stir vigorously, making a slurry of yumminess. (Resist the temptation to drink this elixir.)Make sure everything is emulsified. Look out the window again. Text that one person that you know needs to hear from you, that they are loved. Then stand around in fuzzy socks and breathe deeply as if you have all the time in the world. Smell everything. Love everything. And when the alarm goes off, smile as you gently press down the coffee. But then wait. From here, as you ponder the deliciousness of coffee. Coffee, or what we call Tea with the Muse. You set your tone for the day one more time to an outlook, not just of gratitude, like, hey, I'm grateful for that, but active appreciation, anticipation of bringing beauty and amusement. Call your Muse right then, right before the coffee is ready to pour. She is usually sitting with her group of friends cackling on the dark side of the moon. She loves this dark new moon solar eclipse energy. When you are ready, invite her!Don't take your eyes off of her as she comes because she may slip through the cracks in the floorboards if she doesn't quite feel your presence. The quality of your presence in this sacred in this less than 10 minute ritual that will determine whether or not the Muse actually appears. When you call her you know she's a bit of a fickle one and a bit of a wild one. She demands a quality of presence. She demands ceremonial time. Kairos instead of industrial time and Chronos. The Muse doesn't have any clocks but the moon. And believe me, she wants to be with you.But she will only appear and only stay if you slow down. Then, pouring it into the cup and stirring again. Then finding the perfect place for you and the Muse to sit in fuzzy socks and fuzzy blankets and recognize you began the day with making ritual conscious and every single other action in this day will be shifted as a result of the quality of your presence. Life is good. I interviewed Wuer about Mnemosyne on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Venice Immersive in Venice, Italy. Here is the story synopsis for Mnemosyne: "Mnemosyne is an innovative immersive work that blends VR film and live theatre, offering a multi- sensory experience and a poetic exploration of love, illusion, and awakening. Inspired by Tang Xianzu's Ming Dynasty classic The Peony Pavilion, the piece draws on Eastern philosophy to evoke the notion of “ultimate 情 (Qing/emotion)”. It combines 360° animation, 180° live-action footage, and live performance, with the surrounding environment, shaping each audience member's evolving sense of presence. The layered narrative unfolds like ink in water: fluid, evocative, and open to interpretation, inviting the audience to drift between constructed memories and imagined futures. Mnemosyne seeks to create a meditative landscape of shifting emotions, centring on the intimate experience of transcending illusion to uncover genuine feeling. It views this hybrid medium of merging physical and virtual presence as a potential stage for exploring the social dimensions and future possibilities of VR/XR." Here are the contextual domains that are explored: Connecting to the earth and nature [4], but also Eastern Religiion from Daoist and Buddhist thought [9]. Focusing on and reflecting upon your own embodied experiences [1] Here is the Elemental Center of Gravity: 1st Center of Gravity of Earth Element / Environmental and Embodied Presence: Most of the experience is CGI-based VR Animation and Cinematic VR, but there's is an immersive theatrical installation of something like a Tea Room, with meditation booths, which have a number of spatial modulations over the course of the performance. There's also an actor at the end with Mixed Reality Components. So it's a real blending of the spatial contexts.2nd Center of Gravity of Air Element / Mental and Social Presence: Lots of Taoist and Zen influences, and some quoted poetry and passages, but the density of the philosohical thought create a bit of like Zen Koan type of experience, where there were lots of deeper philosophical mysteries being explored. Very poetic, if not a bit mysterious -- and even the cretor was a bit vexed to communicate what the experience would be. You have to experience it to fully understand.3rd Center of Gravity of Water Element / Emotional Presence: Spatiousness from the cinematic montage of different scenes and poetic reflections. Jumping between the pre-recorded aspects (Chronos) and the live performative elements (Kairos) of the momen.4th Center of Gravity of Fire Element / Active Presence: LIVE performance elements. But also no real narrative or spatial agency. Aiming to sort create a contemplative poetic experience. Archetypal Themes and Character Explored: Lots of Truth vs Illusion themes. "poetic exploration of love, illusion, and awakening." Also, "it offers a sensory framework where gazes, pauses, and subtle gestures shape the unfolding rhythm. Within a layered dreamscape of animation, live-action, and performance, the audience becomes not just an observer but a co-creator of emotional experience. Drawing from the Daoist idea of “breaking illusion to perceive truth”, the work uses VR as a poetic medium — an ephemeral vessel to navigate between illusion and reality, dream and awakening — until the line between the two gently dissolves." Artist Statement: "Mnemosyne is an immersive narrative experiment focused on “empowering the audience's imagination”. Rather than presenting a closed storyline, it offers a sensory framework where gazes, pauses, and subtle gestures shape the unfolding rhythm. Within a layered dreamscape of animation, live-action, and performance, the audience becomes not just an observer but a co- creator of emotional experience. Drawing from the Daoist idea of “breaking illusion to perceive truth”, the work uses VR as a poetic medium — an ephemeral vessel to navigate between illusion and reality, dream and awakening — until the line between the two gently dissolves." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEAyABepKFM This is a listener-supported podcast through the Voices of VR Patreon. Join me to paint the MUSEDear One, If you happen to have a chronic stress or chronic health condition, please listen because this matters. The hours of your day are not neutral. They're counting on your body's clock. Hypervigilance over time wears the body down. You know this, but what you might not know is how much pleasure builds the body back. Pleasure is not a treat. Pleasure is a counterweight to pain. And here's why I believe it. Chronos. Chronic. It means with time. So if you have chronic health and chronic stress, it means you're living with it, inside of it. These words come from the Latin and the Greek. When it first began to enter the human language, it was not about a severity, it was about duration, the time it takes. Chronic, on its own, isn't something bad. It's what travels with you. But it's not a singular event. It's time itself. And if the condition that you are navigating is having an impact on your life. It's impacting your time. Not just the quantity of your time, but the quality of your time. So what if the remedy to Chronos and Chronic is connected with time itself? Think about this for a moment with me. Chronos connects with the brainwave of Beta, what I call busybody beta, and hypervigilance, and also the critic. The critic lives in Chronos. Chronos is sequential, the clock, the calendar, the appointment, the countdown, the quantity. Beta is the brainwave that runs it. Hypervigilance is what beta feels like from the inside when you live in a body that communicates to you about what it is experiencing in languages that are hard to understand and so unpredictable. When you're always scanning for what's next, what's going to bring on the inflammation or the flare, whether or not you feel like showing up for something that you've already said yes to. Small example, yesterday I spent quite a few hours feeling creative and lit up and informed. And then suddenly my computer was out of battery and I was in a public place. And I didn't feel like expending the energy to get up and plug it in. So I just closed it and just sat there instead. I was weighing whether or not it felt worthwhile to find the socket. Because when you're navigating chronic conditions, sometimes the simple act like plugging in a cord can feel like you don't want to do it. Are you, like I am sometimes, weighing every move? The weighing itself, the evaluation is not free. Researchers have measured what it does to a body over the years. And this buildup is called allostatic load. The wear accumulates. And so when we stay hypervigilant and stressed and in the stressful parts of the beta brainwaves over and over and over, it accumulates. It's a toxic load. Accumulation: Is a word that's been changing everything for me. Hypervigilance is not waiting for a flare. It's showing up in the good times too. When I'm doing things that I love, it's just there in the background. And it fills up peaceful times with stress if I don't pay attention. But there's something else. This one has to be chosen. Chronos is Predictable. What is not predictable is Kairos. Kairos is a choice. Kairos is divine time, God timing, supreme timing, synchronicity, everything in right time. Kairos, theta brainwaves, flow state, and the Muse. Kairos is about quality, not quantity. It's about opportunity, never too early, never too late. It's the opening. The space to breathe in between, or what I would call Tea with Muse. Chronos is spent. It's finite. Kairos, you enter and it's infinite, or at least the experience of it can be when you enter a flow state. Theta is the brainwave that's operating in Kairos. You don't just arrive there all at once. You have to pass through other brainwaves. You begin to leave the beta and you pass through the imagination of alpha and into the spacious mystical theta. And as you go. Hypervigilance and stress dissolves along the way. This also counts, especially if you declare that it does. Flow is what it feels like from the inside. Flow is the felt sense of the Kairos state. And this is where science is on my side and the side of Intentional Creativity. The researchers have a name for what happens to time in that state. They actually call it time distortion. It's one of the defining markers where hours go by and you can't account for them. You're so in the flow. You're in your jam. There's a theory called transient hypofrontality that says that the self-monitoring part of the brain quiets down during times of deep absorption. The part of you that is over hypervigilant, that guards, that worries, goes quiet, measurably quiet during Kairos. So when you're in self-expression, particularly things like drawing or painting or singing or weaving or digging in the dirt or cooking food, things that require intention you go into Kairos. When you're sitting with the Muse and letting her have her way with you. Two hours go by and you don't even know where they went. That happened just this morning. Coffee with two people I adore. We read poetry from my book, Tea with the Midnight Muse. We did the Mother Mary Oracle Deck and applied it to our health. We talked to the kitties. We talked about the roses and the tomatoes. I made a soup of everything from the garden. And the hours were gone and they couldn't even believe it. And I said, that? That's Tea with the Muse. That's what I want to talk about today. We traveled out of beta and we stopped guarding the parameter of our consciousness. We stopped listening to the Chronos critic who told us we must be productive. We entered the place where there is no clock. Instead, there's a cuppa. Here's the interesting thing, is that this time wasn't about healing something completely, not about overcoming something. When we come back out of it, the same conditions are waiting for us, but our perspective is shifted and we can bring magic out of Kairos into the Chronos. Let me tell you this, the pleasure time, the Muse time, that also is accumulative, just like the stress. The body, the heart, the mind, and the identity, they begin to fill up with a different kind of energy. This is why my entire day is filled with little bursts of chosen micro-pleasure. Chronos, Beta, Hypervigilance, Critic, Finite. That one writes by itself all day long, whether we consent or not, where Kairos, Theta, Flow, and the Muse, and the Infinite, that one only writes in us when we choose it, and also choose to be conscious of it. Kairos offsets days of bracing and worry for the worst. What if Tea with the Muse Is this life-saving as I've been saying it is all these years? You might ask yourself, why does Shiloh spend so much time on pleasure when the world is on fire? Because I know what's possible, because I've seen it for myself. I've seen people move out of chronic pain and into practices of pleasure that change our world. You know what? Chronos gets the clock. It's operating all day long. Kairos only gets what we choose and appoint. While you might think that 15 minutes of Tea with the Muse against the rest of the hours spent just fighting the onslaught of overwhelm and chaos: I challenge you to consider this is not just a lovely invitation. For many of us, it's life-saving. Pleasure is our activism. Kairos, like the Muse, must be courted. Kairos doesn't just arrive on its own, usually. The only times I've seen it come are through falling in love or worshipping at the altar of the Divine. Every other time, I need to choose it. Pain is inevitable, but pleasure is chosen. Kronos never has to be chosen. Kronos is chronic, just like the critic is chronic, keeping you scrolling and reminding you that time is running out. Kairos is a ritual. And while many of us in our community do prefer a giant canvas, in addition, take a walk and let the flowers speak poetry to you. Look out the window at the farthest point you can find and ask what color that is, if you were to paint it. Talk to the part of your body that hurts and ask what it wants. One of the people I was sitting with this morning is navigating a health condition and I asked her to ask that part of her body what the message was. Only one small thing came. But for me, as I sat with her and listened to the space in between the spaces, I heard a very clear instruction about a particular form of rest and I invited her to take that rest today - and she did and she's doing it right now while I do this. Information comes when you're having Tea with the Muse. So open the page and give the Muse of Kairos the pen. Ask What wants to reveal itself to you today? Do you believe me that a practice of pleasure could be the counterpoint of a lifetime of pain and could actually be, not just a coping mechanism but a practice to deal with states of chronic health and stress? I know it works. The only question is how much? Will you try? I will. I'll see you with the Muse. This is Curate Shiloh Sophia for Tea with the Muse podcast and I'm grateful to be in your life. In this message, our global lead pastor, Pastor  @okodughaolushola  teaches that divine acceleration happens when we recognize and respond to God's appointed moments. Many people remain in delay not because God has forgotten them, but because they fail to discern their season. Breakthroughs are often quiet, yet they change everything.Drawing from Luke 19:41 - 44, Genesis 1:14, Ephesians 5:15, and Psalm 102:13, Pastor Shola explains the difference between Chronos (measured time) and Kairos (God's appointed moment). While everyone is given time, transformation comes when we recognize and act in our kairos moments. Throughout Scripture, lives were changed in a single moment because people responded in faith. The message also emphasizes that seasons can change. Prophecies do not fulfill themselves - they require willing participants. God responds to faith-filled action. Mercy can restore lost time, while favour can position you ahead of time. When you begin to move in obedience, God begins to move on your behalf. This message will help you:- Discern God's timing and recognize your kairos moments.- Understand the difference between Chronos and Kairos.- Position yourself for divine acceleration and season change.- Respond to God's leading with faith and decisive action.Watch, reflect, and refuse to miss your moment. As you move in faith, God can turn your night into day and accelerate you into His purpose.BROADCAST DETAILSMinister: Pastor Shola OkodughaDate: Sunday 12th july, 2026——Stay ConnectedSubscribe to the latest content: http://bit.ly/subscribethenewliveWebsite: http://wearethenew.org/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wearethenew_global/#TheNewLive #SholaOkodugha

By spring of 1945, Hitler was surrounded on every front, but one project inside a secret mine kept running until the end. It was called Die Glocke, The Bell, built on mercury, fire, and a design borrowed from a thousand-year-old Indian text. The scientists who built it vanished, along with the man who ran the entire project. Decades later, the same technology resurfaced in a US Navy patent, and nobody could explain how it got there. This Mother's Day message explores the difference between our timing and God's timing through the lives of six women in Scripture: Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel, Hannah, Elizabeth, and Naomi. Each woman faced seasons of waiting, grief, disappointment, surrender, and restoration — yet every story reveals a God who is never late.Through the biblical concepts of Chronos (our measured time) and Kairos (God's appointed time), this sermon reminds us that what feels like delay is often divine preparation. Whether you're waiting for healing, restoration, breakthrough, purpose, or prodigals to come home, this message is an encouragement to trust God in the waiting room.“No matter how long the wait feels, God has not forgotten you. His kairos moment is coming.”Scriptures referenced include:Ecclesiastes 3:1, Genesis 18 & 21, Genesis 25, Genesis 30 & 35, 1 Samuel 1, Luke 1, Ruth 4, Galatians 4:4, Habakkuk 2:3 and more.Welcome to Living Hope Church! Unlimited Leaguers, we are going back in time! Forward as well. This really felt like an episode of Legends of Tomorrow. That is fine by us! Chronos is a henpecked scientist who creates a time traveling belt. He escapes his wife and continues to steal items, but a run-in with the League has him escape to the past. He lands in the Old West. His time belt is stolen byTobias Manning, who uses it to bring futuristic gear back in time and rule the territory. Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern team up with Bat Lash, El Diablo, Jonah Hex and Ohiyesa Smith to take Tobias down. But Chronos escapes and the League follows. They land in 2055. They are confronted by the Jokerz gang, but thankfully the future League is there to help.  Chronos has destroyed the watch tower and most of the heroes with it including Superman! The only members who are left are an Old Static Shock, Warhawk (son of Green Lantern and Hawkgirl), Future Batman (Terry McGinnis), and future Bruce. Our JLU learns from the future one. They devise a plan to get to Chronos. Time is collapsing. Wonder Woman disappears, John turns into Hal Jordan and back, and more. They must stop Chronos. After a battle with the Jokerz, several members are lost and are killed. Chronos escapes and Batman & Green Lanter follow. They stop him before he reaches the beginning of time. Time is reset and no one remembers but Bruce and John. Chronos is stuck in a time loop as punishment. You don’t need more time. You need to recognize the time you’re already in. On this episode of Like It Matters Radio, Mr. Black breaks down the difference between Chronos and Kairos: Chronos is the ticking clock Kairos is the appointed moment And here’s the shift: You were not dropped randomly into time. You were placed into a Kairos moment—a divinely timed intersection where your gifts, your story, and your calling collide with purpose. This is not just another day. This is your moment. Mr. Black challenges listeners to confront the reality that everything we do—or don’t do—is driven by our belief systems. If your thinking is off, your life will follow. But when your mind is renewed, everything changes. This episode connects: Neuroscience (how the brain rewires through repetition and meaning) NLP (how we code experience and create emotional states) Scripture (renewing the mind, guarding the heart, living with purpose) Because transformation isn’t random—it’s structured. You’ll also be reminded of a powerful truth: You are not your body. You are not your brain. You are a spirit, designed with intention, wired for purpose, and called for impact. Mr. Black brings it home with a clear leadership mandate: If you want to lead, succeed, and make an impact— you must get into the people business. Because the greatest asset, the greatest cost, and the greatest opportunity in life… is people.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There is a moment when heaven interrupts the natural order, when what seemed delayed suddenly collapses under the weight of divine timing. Leon du Preez reveals the tension between Chronos and Kairos, exposing how delay is often a matter of perspective while God is already moving with precision and intent. Through prophetic insight and Scripture, this message reframes waiting, not as uncertainty, but as positioning. When alignment meets revelation, time bends, acceleration begins, and what was spoken manifests with undeniable force. This is an awakening to discern your moment, step into divine timing, and live where heaven's agenda overrides earthly limitation.

Every community has defining moments—times when people come together with a shared purpose to make life better for everyone who calls that place home. Today's episode is about one of those moments. On March 28th, something new is coming to Lake Country: the Lake Country Community Health Fair at Lake Oconee Academy. It's designed to bring together healthcare providers, wellness experts, community organizations, and residents from across Greensboro, Eatonton, Madison, and beyond—all under one roof with a simple but powerful goal: helping people live healthier lives. My guests today are two familiar voices on the show—Dr. Nick Chronos and Tom Hanscom. Both have spent years working to strengthen our community in different ways, and now they're teaming up to launch what they hope will become an annual tradition focused on health, education, and access to care. Plus, a new voice, that of intern Baylor Edge. This isn't just a walk-through expo. It's a hands-on opportunity for people to receive free health screenings, meet local healthcare professionals, learn about wellness resources, and ask questions that might otherwise go unanswered. In a region that continues to grow and welcome both new retirees and new families every year, events like this play an important role in making sure our community stays informed, connected, and proactive about health. We'll talk about how this idea came together, what people can expect at the Health Fair, and why this event could make a meaningful difference for families across Lake Country. So if you care about living healthier—or helping someone you love do the same—stay tuned and meet the team! In this Mobile Metron episode, Bishop Jim Swilley tells the raw, unfiltered story behind his mother's fall, the impossible decisions of elder care, and the unexpected “angels” who showed up right on time. Then he pivots into a provocative teaching on Chronos vs. Kairos, why guilt keeps us trapped, and why Jesus' words to Peter in John 21 sound a lot like modern caregiving. Along the way, he challenges fundamentalism, reframes “the fall,” and asks the question most of us avoid until life forces it: Are you trying to live longer… or live freer? 5 takeaways Chronos measures life. Kairos interprets it.Chronos is the clock/calendar; Kairos is the “time-out-of-time” moment where meaning snaps into focus (anchored by “my times are in your hands” — Psalm 31:15). Elder care isn't a “curse” — it's a season.Swilley reads Jesus' words about aging and dependence (John 21:18) as less “doom” and more “this is what long life often looks like.” Guilt isn't proof you're loving. It can be a leash.A care team's permission—“you don't have to come every day”—becomes a spiritual release: love can be real without self-punishment. Be specific about the life you're asking for.Not just “more years,” but “more years with clarity, mobility, and peace,” reflecting on the idea of long lifespan (Swilley references 120 years; see Genesis 6:3) and the cost of unmanaged longevity. Your life becomes lighter when it becomes useful. The old hymn idea—“If I can help somebody, my living shall not be in vain”—turns into an inventory of legacy: what you built, who you lifted, what your presence changed (echoing the wisdom of “teach us to number our days” — Psalm 90:12). Pull-quote (from the episode) “Focus on the kairos time of your life. Don't be so obsessed with the chronos time.” Scriptures referenced (with citations) “The kingdom… brings out… treasures new and old” — Matthew 13:52 “The Spirit of the Lord… liberty to the captives” — Isaiah 61:1 (also echoed in Luke 4:18) “The tongue of the learned” — Isaiah 50:4 “Let there be light” — Genesis 1:3 “My times are in Your hands” — Psalm 31:15 “Rightly dividing the word” — 2 Timothy 2:15 “The heavens declare the glory of God” — Psalm 19:1 “Man shall not live by bread alone…” — Deuteronomy 8:3 (quoted in Matthew 4:4) “I AM” — Exodus 3:14 “I desire mercy, not sacrifice” — Hosea 6:6 (quoted in Matthew 9:13 and Matthew 12:7) Curses / sweat of brow / labor pains — Genesis 3:16–19 Jesus & Peter on love, feeding sheep, aging, and “what is that to you?” — John 21:15–22 “Teach us to number our days” — Psalm 90:12 “120 years” — Genesis 6:3 “Blessed when you come in and go out” — Deuteronomy 28:6 “No plague… near your dwelling” — Psalm 91:10

My podcast's come alive. Welcome back to the podcast! Today, we're going to be talking about Hades II, the sequel to one of the most popular roguelikes of all time and the first sequel that Supergiant Games has ever made. And I for one am happy about that because I needed an excuse to play hundreds more hours of Hades. Hades II is very much a game that can be described as “the first game, but more” which could be a good or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for, but what's surprising is just how much more it actually includes. With two full routes to take and a suite of new weapons and gods, it has a ton of things to try and do mechanically, but also just enormous volumes of dialogue and numerous NPCs, making it feel like you'll never run out of new things to see. We're going to be talking about our favorite weapons and builds, the unique narrative position this game put itself in, and we talk about what kind of menacing grandpa Chronos is. Thank you for joining us again this week! This is one of those episodes that I felt I was slightly overprepared for, so we ended up going deeper into some subjects than we normally do but then also skipping over some stuff that a newer player would probably be thinking about. Let us know if this spoke to literally any part of your experience with the game by leaving a comment or over on our Discord! Next time, we're going to be talking about Everhood, so we hope you'll join us then.

Goodbye, Chronos. Hello Kairos. Enter qualitative time — the unhurried, opportune space where presence deepens and the habitual clutch of stories and roles loosens. Another way to describe this time is ancestral-eternal time, a place where myths and archetypes dwell. Kairos time is where we can dwell in “identity‑free space”. With Myrrh as our guide, a gap opens to release over‑identification with names, titles, and the ego's stories so we can meet what's true beneath them. You will be guided through a guided aromatherapy meditation set to Bach's Cello Suite No. 5 in C minor, BWV 1011 — Sarabande (Netherlands Bach Society / Suzuki recording) (minute 8:30). The episode includes my original poem “Last Night I Dreamt of Myrrh” (minute 17:15), followed by an exploration of Myrrh (minute 18:30): its ecology and etymology; the aromatic personality of its resin and essential oil; and clinical and ritual therapeutics for nervous system regulation, respiratory support, vulnerary and skin uses, and spiritual practice. To balance the somberness, we close with an uplifting musical respite: Così fan tutte — “Soave sia il vento” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (minute 29:15).If you feel the pressure of the year‑end rush — the urgency to buy, perform, and over‑do between Thanksgiving and New Year's — Myrrh offers a counterweight: gravitas, steadiness, and a practice for making room rather than filling it. Join your host, Amy Anthony, for aromatic-somatic cues, ritual language, and practical aromatherapy guidance you can use to slow the impulse to consume, meet grief or clutter of the heart (and lungs), and enter a Kairos infused holiday season. While Ghost of Yotei has gone gold and is now right around the corner, other segments of PlayStation Studios are on far less sturdy ground. Fairgames (or Fairgame$, if you like marketing) is seemingly the latest victim of an unprecedented run of bad decision-making, execution, and leadership within Sony's first party, as the upcoming shooter has shed its director, often (though not always) a dire sign for any project. Taken with recent reports (from this very show) of poor internal playtesting -- all the while Haven has already shed its major front-facing face and co-founder Jade Raymond -- we simply have to wonder whether Fairgames will ever launch at all. And if it does, does it have any potential to succeed whatsoever? Other news this week includes the rumored reemergence of Insomniac's Wolverine project, downward-revised SSD space for upcoming PS5 consoles, a fresh look at the promising Uncharted-like IO title 007: First Light, and much more. Then: Listener inquiries! Does Naughty Dog actually represent the pinnacle of game dev? How much can people twist themselves into a knot to justify piracy? What kind of pressure are studios and publishers under to adopt AI solutions? Will "Alleghany Hogs" catch on around the world? Scott sits down with Tanner Goodman, who just got back from the EU, and his time at Gamescom in Germany. They talk about everything he saw! Including the standout demos like Crimson Desert (beautiful but overloaded with systems), Silent Hill f (creepy immersive theater), Honor of Kings: World (surprise hit with fun elemental combat and raids), and Valor Mortis (first-person Soulslike with grotesque Napoleonic bosses). Also, reasons why Chronos on Switch 2 disappointed due to poor performance and clunky design. Beyond games, Xbox showed its new handheld, cosplay was everywhere, swag was abundant, and even Netflix, Disney+, and Chiquita Bananas had booths. Give it a listen and huge thanks to Tanner for his time! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

God doesn't see time the way we do. While we live according to hours, deadlines, and a focus fixed on the future (chronos), God operates in kairos—sacred moments filled with purpose and a pursuit of being fully present. We can sanctify chronological time by living with eternity in mind—sensing God's presence in every moment.  In this episode, David Hanegraaff explores the importance of a proper theology of time—Kairos—as opposed to a human understanding of time—Chronos. Learning to trust God's timing can reshape our daily lives, reorient our expectations, and draw us deeper into communion with Him.  Let us learn to pray the following prayer: “Lord, stamp eternity on our eyes so we live every moment with Your will and purpose in mind. Help us to live not in the fantasy of past and future, but the reality of Your presence right here, right now. Amen.” This is the second talk given by David Hanegraaff for the Set Apart retreat for young adults at Gospel for Asia in Wills Point, Texas. Interested in serving with Gospel for Asia?
