Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesMoviegoers were in their showgirl era this weekend as Taylor Swift's album release party for her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, took the top spot at the box office with an estimated $34 million. The one-weekend show is over, though, and Tron: Ares is coming through to open this weekend with estimates hoping it rakes in more than $40 million. Star Cillian Murphy already had fans excited about returning to the Shelby family with the news of a feature film that is wrapped and will release next year. Now, the BBC and Netflix are sharing an expansion of the universe with a new six episode sequel series that will focus on a new generation of Shelbys. Murphy and original creator/writer Steven Knight are executive producers for the series, which will take place post-World War II. In lieu of much else to report on for features this week, we thought we'd look ahead to the films and television series we can look forward to for the rest of the year that we maybe have or haven't discussed yet.New Line's follow up to Final Destination: Bloodlines has found its director - Belgian filmmaker Michiel Blanchart, who will be making his English-language debut with the feature.DC and Marvel Comics will continue their crossover series with a Superman and Spider-Man crossover that will debut early next year.Severance breakout Zach Cherry, True Detective co-star Kali Reis, and Johnno Wilson, from I Love That for You, have joined the cast of Resident Evil, Sony Pictures and Zach Cregger's reboot of the horror franchise, according to The Hollywood Reporter.Netflix has released the first official trailer for season four of The Witcher, which sees Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt from former star Henry Cavill. Emmy-nominated writer Seth Reiss made his feature film debut with Mark Mylod's THE MENU in 2022, which he co-wrote and executive produced with Will Tracy, and received a WGA nomination for Searchlight Pictures. He is currently a supervising writer on LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS, for which he has received five Emmys and five WGA nominations. Reiss' new writing and producing project includes Sony Pictures' A BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. A BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY follows two strangers who meet at a mutual friend's wedding and have the chance to relive important moments from their pasts, illuminating the path that led them to the present and gaining the opportunity to change their futures. In this interview, we talk about how Seth is balancing his role at LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS with screenwriting alongside Will Tracy, which led to the successful film THE MENU, and now his new film A BIG BOLD BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY. We also discuss how his writing philosophy favors high-concept premises that quickly focus on emotional, layered characters, with RUSHMORE as a key influence. Reiss also talks about his unproduced film FELLAS AND GALS, and gives advice for aspiring writers. Want more? Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesIt appears as though Marvel Studios much speculated film that was slated to release between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars in July 2027, won't be happening after all; or at least not that July, as Disney has replaced the untitled project with a sequel to The Simpsons Movie dated for July 23, 2027. The move comes as a surprise to many Marvel fans who anticipated a possible Doctor Strange or Shang-Chi sequel to take place between the Avengers tentpoles but is in keeping with what Bob Iger and Kevin Feige have promised about a slowdown in production. Elsewhere, with Marvel Zombies premiering on Disney Plus last week, Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum teased a possible season 2, but emphasized that would be contingent on viewership and new Disney Plus subscriptions. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen took the opportunity to share that although she recorded lines for the series, she doesn't remember anything about the show or plot. It was a huge week for trailers from a bevy of our favorite franchises, so lets run them down with another good old fashioned Trailer Park:Insomniac and Sony released the first gameplay trailer for Marvel's Wolverine on the PS5, which will release in fall of 2026.Lucasfilm unveiled a new trailer for Star Wars; Visions Volume 3 which also announced the cast that includes Anna Sawai, Freddie Highmore, George Takei, Harvey Guillén, Jodie Turner-Smith, Judith Light, Simu Liu, Stephanie Hsu, and Steve Buscemi. The final trailer for Jon M. Chu's Wicked: For Good released last Wednesday morning to much acclaim. And finally, a new trailer for 20th Century's Avatar: Fire and Ash teased more of the villainous faction and stakes.Director Denis Villeneuve shed new light on his upcoming version of 007 for Amazon/MGM; sharing that the casting process will begin next year after he's completed production on Dune: Part Three for Warner Bros and that he is looking to cast a “relatively unknown” “fresh face” actor in their 20s or 30s. Additional criteria the filmmaker included is that the performer must hail from the British Isles and be male, as well as his desire to capture what Fleming called “a blunt instrument” — the lethal but “extremely dull, uninteresting man to whom things happened.” If Villeneuve and team stay true to these parameters, it potentially rules out many fan-casted favorites and seems to be in more alignment with the Broccoli family's traditions with the character than expected with new creatives in control.Mark Ronson is slated to reunite with Greta Gerwig to score her Chronicles of Narnia adaptation at Netflix. Ronson previously served as executive music producer for Gerwig's Barbie.Amazon MGM Studios‘ adaptation of Rebecca Yarros' bestselling novel Fourth Wing is closing in on a new showrunner. Wednesday Season 2 executive producer Meredith Averill is in final negotiations to board the project as writer and executive producer.Sony revealed that Spider-Man: Beyond the SpiderVerse will arrive a week earlier than expected, and land on June 18, 2027. Notably, that new date will cover the Juneteenth holiday as well as Father's Day. It previously was dated for June 25, 2027.Comedian Bill Burr is in talks to join the cast of Aaron Sorkin and Sony Pictures' sequel to The Social Network, after Jeremy Strong, Mikey Madison and Jeremy Allen White were officially cast. The film also has been retitled The Social Reckoning and will officially hit theaters on Oct. 9, 2026.A newly created AI “actress” named Tilly Norwood, designed by the studio Xicoia under Particle6, has reportedly drawn interest from Hollywood talent agencies. The announcement sparked major backlash from real actors, with critiques about replacing human talent, the ethics of compositing real faces, and calls to boycott agencies that represent AI personas.

Responding to a 10 PM domestic disturbance call, police in Summerfield, Florida encountered Devon Driscoll, 26, who “advised she wants her ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend to get kicked out of the house.” Two men have been arrested after a fight over a Netflix account ended with gunfire. Brian Travis Reynolds, 19, and Anthony Constante, 19, were taken into custody this week in connection with an incident outside a home on Calle Briseno, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. Multicultural turnaround executive Ori Elraviv opens up about the pivotal misstep that led to his company's downfall years ago. Before the iPhone era, Ori founded a game development company that secured a major partnership with Electronic Arts—an achievement that opened doors for a potential deal with Sony Pictures.   The pitch to Sony started strong, but things quickly unraveled when they discovered the company had developed a similar program for Electronic Arts. Sony questioned whether Ori's team held the rights to reuse the technology—and when EA caught wind of the situation, the fallout was swift and severe.   The root of the problem? They hadn't read the fine print. A costly oversight that ultimately led to the collapse of the business. Jamal Watson's journey from South Central to Hollywood executive exemplifies the power of storytelling to transform lives. After finding inspiration in film during his youth, he started at Sony Pictures as a tour guide in 2003, building industry connections that would prove invaluable. His career accelerated through roles at Deluxe Film Services and a pivotal 2010 internship at Overbrook Entertainment, where he spent a decade rising from intern to Vice President. During this time, he produced acclaimed projects including "SPRINTER" (ABFF winner, African Academy Award nominee), "HALA" (Sundance and TIFF selection), Disney's "ALADDIN," and Netflix's "AMEND."  At Monkeypaw Productions, Watson continued championing diverse voices through projects like the "SCARE TACTICS" reboot and upcoming film "HIM", which opens in theaters on September 19th. He also launched a music label imprint with Interscope Records, expanding his influence across entertainment sectors. Jamal's trajectory demonstrates how passion for storytelling, combined with strategic relationship-building and unwavering dedication, can create pathways to success in Hollywood's competitive landscape. Hope you takeaway as much as I did! xx cg

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesRight after our episode last week, our pal James Gunn dropped big news on Wednesday - the next Superman film written by him will be called Man of Tomorrow. Gunn, David Corneswet, and others involved shared particular artwork by DC Comics President Jim Lee that showed Lex Luthor in a mech suit to make the announcement. In typical Gunn fashion, the DC Studios co-chair has teased this film isn't a direct sequel, but is the next installment in what he calls the “Superman saga.” The film's title is reminiscent of the Milly Alcock led Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which releases next year. In other DC movie news, Weapons director Zach Cregger addressed rumors that have been circulating about his involvement with a Joker and Harley Quinn movie. Cregger called stories about him having written a treatment for the two iconic DC villains “blown out of proportion,” but did indicate that he has a couple of films he's interested in working on, though he hasn't spoken with James Gunn yet.At the Toronto International Film Festival last Friday, Ryan Reynolds finally admitted the internet's worst kept secret - that he was the one who leaked the original Deadpool test footage in 2014 to the world wide web. Reynolds went on to say that Fox simply didn't seem interested in releasing an R-rated superhero movie and his passion for the character led him to the extreme action, which he doesn't regret. Fans of Deadpool are likely forever grateful that Reynolds did what he did, which led to pressure on the studio to make the film a reality. In other questionable swings from stars both in front of and behind the camera, The Russos released a blurry image with the caption #Doomsday Is Coming via Instagram earlier today. No last rites are being read for horror at the box office this year, as the supposed final installment in the Conjuring universe, The Conjuring: Last Rites, raked in $84 million domestically this weekend for its opening. This massive box office marks the best for this franchise ever, and the third biggest opening for a horror film of all-time. Warner Brothers and New Line are laughing all the way to the bank, having projected a $35 million opening box office and the movie cost about $55 million to make. The film's global take as of today is $194 million. In other Conjuring news, a series in development at HBO Max set in the universe took a big step forward today, hiring Nancy Won as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, who will write the series alongside Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires. The Office spin off The Paper, which debuted its first season last week has been renewed for a second season on Peacock.Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Nia DaCosta's “28 Years Later: The Bone Temple," the follow up to this year's 28 Years Later. The film is set to release on January 16.Prime Video has confirmed rumors that Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner will play Lara Croft in its Tomb Raider series from creator, writer and co-showrunner Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Production on the series will begin in January.John C. McGinley has joined the cast of ABC's Scrubs reboot and will reprise his role as Dr. Perry Cox from the original series. He joins fellow returnees Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison and Judy Reyes in the cast. The White Lotus creator Mike White and HBO have zeroed in on France as the location for the upcoming fourth season of the hit murder mystery comedy-drama series, sources tell Deadline. Two time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou has joined the cast of Amazon MGM's reboot of Highlander, the Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. The first trailer for Rian Johnson's upcoming Knives Out film Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man has been released. The film is set for release in select theaters Nov. 26 before its streaming debut December 12.

In our world, knowing the future can't save you from it. On the final episode of Hot Dave's Summer Film Fest Vol. V: The Future is Super Female, Dakota Johnson and Sony Pictures make a film so bad it threatens to end Cinema as we know it! So take off your shoes and prepare to party like it's 2003; it's Madame Web! I'm your host, Dave, and joining me as we review what is perhaps the worst film we've ever watched for this podcast are fellow cinephiles and precogs Ryan, Mike, and Jackie. Topics of discussion in this episode include the age old Hollywood tradition of churning out garbage strictly to hold onto an IP; Dakota Johnson can see the future, but apparently has difficulty opening a can of Pepsi; and finally, Sony Pictures sadly drives the final nail in the proverbial coffin of their live-action Spiderverse spinoffs with a film so bad, it can't even be saved by an ending at a literal fireworks factory. Be sure to rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. You can also Like Us on Facebook, or shoot us an email at apocalypsevideopod@gmail.com And with that, Hot Dave's Summer Film Fest Vol. V comes to an end. What else is there to say…sorry, folks. They can't all be winners. But next year, we're gonna pull out all the stops and only feature bangers. No more films by Pitof - we promise.

From Columbia Studios and Sony Pictures comes Darren Aronofsky's latest film Caught Stealing starring Austin Butler... and unlike most of Aronofsky's other films, I did not hate this movie. Caught Stealing follows a former baseball player finds himself immersed in the criminal underworld of 1990s Giuliani's New York. Caught Stealing is based off the book of the same name written by Charlie Huston. Caught Stealing comes out to theaters on August 29, 2025 and stars a large ensemble casting including Austin Butler, Zoe Kravitz, Dr. Who's Matt Smith, Regina King, Bad Bunny, and Liev Schreiber.

Sony is a many-tendrilled corporation, which can be both a blessing and a curse. But in fully leveraging all that the wider company does well, it seems they're closer than ever to achieving the "One Sony" goal from years and decades past. Enter Physint (sometimes typed PHYSINT, for some reason), a Hideo Kojima-led project revealed last year as a mysterious cross-pollination between PlayStation and Sony Pictures, one that appears to go into a distinctly Metal Gear Solid-like direction. With Death Stranding 2 now in the past, Kojima is confirmed to be working on Physint itself, presumably for PlayStation 6, which raises some questions, like: What will the game be like? When will it come out? Will it be a commercial success? We know so little about it, and yet, that's never stopped us before, so why start now? Plus: Arrowhead rather blatantly teases a Helldivers 2/Halo crossover, Strauss Zelnick expresses confidence in GTA6's Spring '26 release window and promises that BioShock 4 will indeed launch one day, rumors percolate about upcoming Resident Evil remakes, Crimson Desert gets delayed, PUBG is the next game to reveal it's leaving PlayStation 4 behind, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! What's the best stoner game? Are people overreacting to recent PlayStation executives' chatter about moving away from hardware? Is Danganronpa actually bad? We present our I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) Review!I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 2025 American slasher film directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sam Lansky from a story by Leah McKendrick and Robinson. It is the fourth installment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise and the sequel to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998).[a] The film stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, and Austin Nichols, with Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Brandy from the first two films, respectively, appear in cameos. The plot takes place 27 years after the Tower Bay murders, when another hook-wielding killer appears and begins targeting a group of friends one year after they covered up a car crash in which they supposedly killed someone.Plans for a fourth film in the franchise started in 2014, when Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard signed on to write a reboot with no connection to the previous installments. However, this version ultimately fell through. Following the cancellation of the 2021 television series adaptation, the project was relaunched when Robinson pitched her version to Sony Pictures. The film was put into early development in February 2023, with producer Neal H. Moritz returning. Prinze Jr. and Hewitt were confirmed to be returning in 2024, with the new cast members joining throughout the year. Filming took place between October 2024 and March 2025 in New South Wales and Los Angeles.I Know What You Did Last Summer premiered at The United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles on July 14, 2025, and was theatrically released by Sony Pictures Releasing in the United States on July 18. The film received mixed reviews from critics. It grossed $24.6 million worldwide.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Making a Difference Through Media Synopsis: On this compelling episode of Conversations that Make a Difference, host Teresa Velardi welcomes three dynamic women who are harnessing the power of media to inspire social change: Andi Buerger, Cassandra Tindal, and Danielle Bisutti. Andi Buerger unveils the moving stories and powerful advocacy within her forthcoming book, "Voices Against Trafficking," highlighting the urgent fight against human trafficking and how storytelling can drive awareness and action. Cassandra Tindal, founder and editor of Womenz Straight Talk Magazine, discusses her mission to uplift women's voices, address real-world issues, and foster meaningful dialogue through her influential publication. Actress and singer Danielle Bisutti shares her passion for using the arts to make an impact—donating a heartfelt song to the Voices Against Trafficking album and using her creative platforms to amplify important causes. Together, these changemakers explore how diverse media—books, magazines, and music—serve as transformative tools for advocacy, education, and hope. Their candid conversation, guided by Teresa Velardi, inspires viewers to use their own unique voices and creative outlets to make a difference in their communities and beyond. Guests: Andi Buerger, Cassandra Tindal and Danielle Bisutti Bio: Andi Buerger, JD is an international speaker, author, and advocate for victims of human trafficking & exploitation.  Andi herself was a victim of child sex trafficking and unspeakable abuses by family members for 17 years. She founded Beulah's Place, which provided temporary shelter services to at-risk, unsheltered teens for 14 years.  300+ youth were successfully rescued and assisted, earning national recognition. Andi later founded Voices Against Trafficking(VAT) to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves — the voiceless victims of human trafficking and exploitation. VAT advocates for the protection of every human's rights regardless of race, gender, culture, or socio-economic status.  Voices Against Trafficking-The Strength of Many Voices Speaking As One, gives a portion of proceeds from each sale to survivors of child abuse and trafficking, as does Andi's first book,  A Fragile Thread of Hope - One Survivor's Quest to Rescue. Andi launched Voices Of Courage magazine in 2023.  It is distributed internationally and accepted into the U.S. Library of Congress. It honors everyday heroes who selflessly fight to protect human rights. These champions come from all walks of life to change communities and the world for the better. A television series by the same title debuts in 2025. Website: www.voicesagainsttrafficking.com Bio: Cassandra Tindal is the Founder, Visionary, and CEO of IMAG Media Inc., and the creator of Womenz Straight Talk®. Driven by an unshakable belief in the power of women's voices and the need for meaningful discourse, Cassandra Tindal didn't just build a media company—she ignited a movement. As the founder of IMAG Media Inc. and the force behind Womenz Straight Talk, Cassandra's vision was clear: to create a multimedia platform where women and marginalized communities could speak boldly, be heard globally, and drive real-world impact on the issues that matter most. Cassandra's passion for storytelling isn't about headlines—it's about humanity. She built Womenz Straight Talk as a hybrid of award-winning journalism, documentary filmmaking, and advocacy. Her mission? To challenge narratives, elevate underrepresented perspectives, and spark conversations that lead to action—whether in business, politics, culture, or social justice. At the heart of every culture, in every corner of the world, lies a shared human truth: we are wired for stories. From ancient oral traditions to today's digital narratives, storytelling is the bridge that connects us—transcending language, politics, and geography. Cassandra Tindal and Womenz Straight Talk harness this power, using media and entertainment not just to inform, but to unite, provoke, and inspire action on the issues that define our time. It has been 23 years since the release of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's genre re-defining film "28 Days Later," which has received quite a devoted following over the years. Now, the director and writer have reunited to deliver "28 Years Later," a post-apocalyptic horror film that continues from "28 Weeks Later" (2007) and stars a new cast of characters played by Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Alfie Williams, and Jack O'Connell. Cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle has also returned to shoot the film, predominantly using the iPhone (maintaining a consistent look with how audiences experienced the first Canon XL1 digital video-shot film in 2002), and it will kickstart a new trilogy of films with "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple" being directed by Nia DaCosta, to come next. After viewing the first 28 minutes of the film, Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle was kind enough to spend some time in the Sony offices in New York speaking with me about his work and experience making the anticipated sequel, which you can listen to below. Soundbytes 08:18 - 08:38 “I learned that if you have people who are really invigorated to come to work and they feel they can do that in a psychologically safe environment, and they can contribute, then profits go up.” 11:36 - 12:13 “It's important to have the distinction of having a happy workplace versus an engaged workplace… People can come in and be with their friends and be happy, but not be productive. But what I look for in a culture, in a team, is high levels of engagement. Where people spring out of bed in the morning and really feel that they are working for a common purpose.” 35:01 - 35:18 “It's not just about the product or the services that you're selling, or about the consumers. Of course the end user is really important, but people often look over the culture.” Quotes “If you want to change a culture, measure it.” “My approach to leading people was always about creating an environment of high engagement.” Links mentioned in this episode: From Our Guest Website: https://thedavidbishopgroup.com/  Connect with David Bishop on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thedavidbishopgroup/  Connect with brandiD Download our free guide to learn 16 crucial website updates that attract more leads and convert visitors into clients: https://thebrandid.com/website-tweaks/ Ready to elevate your digital presence with a powerful brand or website?  Contact us here: https://thebrandid.com/contact-form/
