Making a Difference Through Media Synopsis: On this compelling episode of Conversations that Make a Difference, host Teresa Velardi welcomes three dynamic women who are harnessing the power of media to inspire social change: Andi Buerger, Cassandra Tindal, and Danielle Bisutti. Andi Buerger unveils the moving stories and powerful advocacy within her forthcoming book, "Voices Against Trafficking," highlighting the urgent fight against human trafficking and how storytelling can drive awareness and action. Cassandra Tindal, founder and editor of Womenz Straight Talk Magazine, discusses her mission to uplift women's voices, address real-world issues, and foster meaningful dialogue through her influential publication. Actress and singer Danielle Bisutti shares her passion for using the arts to make an impact—donating a heartfelt song to the Voices Against Trafficking album and using her creative platforms to amplify important causes. Together, these changemakers explore how diverse media—books, magazines, and music—serve as transformative tools for advocacy, education, and hope. Their candid conversation, guided by Teresa Velardi, inspires viewers to use their own unique voices and creative outlets to make a difference in their communities and beyond. Guests: Andi Buerger, Cassandra Tindal and Danielle Bisutti Bio: Andi Buerger, JD is an international speaker, author, and advocate for victims of human trafficking & exploitation. Andi herself was a victim of child sex trafficking and unspeakable abuses by family members for 17 years. She founded Beulah's Place, which provided temporary shelter services to at-risk, unsheltered teens for 14 years. 300+ youth were successfully rescued and assisted, earning national recognition. Andi later founded Voices Against Trafficking(VAT) to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves — the voiceless victims of human trafficking and exploitation. VAT advocates for the protection of every human's rights regardless of race, gender, culture, or socio-economic status. Voices Against Trafficking-The Strength of Many Voices Speaking As One, gives a portion of proceeds from each sale to survivors of child abuse and trafficking, as does Andi's first book, A Fragile Thread of Hope - One Survivor's Quest to Rescue. Andi launched Voices Of Courage magazine in 2023. It is distributed internationally and accepted into the U.S. Library of Congress. It honors everyday heroes who selflessly fight to protect human rights. These champions come from all walks of life to change communities and the world for the better. A television series by the same title debuts in 2025. Website: www.voicesagainsttrafficking.com Bio: Cassandra Tindal is the Founder, Visionary, and CEO of IMAG Media Inc., and the creator of Womenz Straight Talk®. Driven by an unshakable belief in the power of women's voices and the need for meaningful discourse, Cassandra Tindal didn't just build a media company—she ignited a movement. As the founder of IMAG Media Inc. and the force behind Womenz Straight Talk, Cassandra's vision was clear: to create a multimedia platform where women and marginalized communities could speak boldly, be heard globally, and drive real-world impact on the issues that matter most. Cassandra's passion for storytelling isn't about headlines—it's about humanity. She built Womenz Straight Talk as a hybrid of award-winning journalism, documentary filmmaking, and advocacy. Her mission? To challenge narratives, elevate underrepresented perspectives, and spark conversations that lead to action—whether in business, politics, culture, or social justice. At the heart of every culture, in every corner of the world, lies a shared human truth: we are wired for stories. From ancient oral traditions to today's digital narratives, storytelling is the bridge that connects us—transcending language, politics, and geography. In 2014, the writer Christopher Beam published a humorous, heartwarming story in The New Republic about an unlikely team of American football enthusiasts in Chongqing who went on to defeat their archrivals in Shanghai to win a championship. The piece was optioned by Sony Pictures, and had some big names attached, but was ultimately never made — not, at least, by an American studio. Eleven years later, Chris has written about a film that was made: Clash, produced by iQiyi, hit theaters in China earlier this year and followed the Chongqing Dockers in the same story arc, but with important and telling differences. It has been 23 years since the release of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's genre re-defining film "28 Days Later," which has received quite a devoted following over the years. Now, the director and writer have reunited to deliver "28 Years Later," a post-apocalyptic horror film that continues from "28 Weeks Later" (2007) and stars a new cast of characters played by Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ralph Fiennes, Alfie Williams, and Jack O'Connell. Cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle has also returned to shoot the film, predominantly using the iPhone (maintaining a consistent look with how audiences experienced the first Canon XL1 digital video-shot film in 2002), and it will kickstart a new trilogy of films with "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple" being directed by Nia DaCosta, to come next. After viewing the first 28 minutes of the film, Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle was kind enough to spend some time in the Sony offices in New York speaking with me about his work and experience making the anticipated sequel, which you can listen to below. Please be sure to check out the film, which will be released in theaters on June 20th by Sony Pictures. Thank you, and enjoy! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... Soundbytes 08:18 - 08:38 “I learned that if you have people who are really invigorated to come to work and they feel they can do that in a psychologically safe environment, and they can contribute, then profits go up.” 11:36 - 12:13 “It's important to have the distinction of having a happy workplace versus an engaged workplace… People can come in and be with their friends and be happy, but not be productive. But what I look for in a culture, in a team, is high levels of engagement. Where people spring out of bed in the morning and really feel that they are working for a common purpose.” 35:01 - 35:18 “It's not just about the product or the services that you're selling, or about the consumers. Of course the end user is really important, but people often look over the culture.” Quotes “If you want to change a culture, measure it.” “My approach to leading people was always about creating an environment of high engagement.” Links mentioned in this episode: From Our Guest Website: https://thedavidbishopgroup.com/ Connect with David Bishop on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/thedavidbishopgroup/ Connect with brandiD Download our free guide to learn 16 crucial website updates that attract more leads and convert visitors into clients: https://thebrandid.com/website-tweaks/ Ready to elevate your digital presence with a powerful brand or website? Nicole Brown '98 is the president of TriStar Pictures, the famed Sony Pictures division responsible for producing many of the most influential films in movie history. In this episode, Nicole tells her story—from growing up in Culver City and attending public and private schools, before discovering Harvard-Westlake through the Independent School Alliance. It was at HW where Nicole met the late great performing arts teacher Ted Walch, who encouraged Nicole (a budding actor) to consider working “on” student productions—rather than "in" them. The message stuck, leading Nicole to study history and film at Columbia University, pursue a life-changing internship with Marc Platt and executive role at Good Universe, and then finally—seize the opportunity to lead TriStar in 2020. Nicole references Ted Walch of Harvard-Westlake, as well as film producer Marc Platt and Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman, as profound influences and mentors.

Production for the next installment in the Spider-Man franchise is ramping up, and it appears Tom Holland will be joined by a new co-star. Multiple sources confirm that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is set to join the upcoming Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios project, though details surrounding her role remain under wraps.Marvel and Sony have yet to comment on the casting, but Sink's addition marks a significant shift in the franchise's evolving cast. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker's world was reset, setting the stage for fresh faces to enter the mix while familiar characters may take a step back. With Sink's signature red hair and growing reputation in Hollywood, fans have begun speculating about which character she could be portraying. The most prominent theory is that she will debut as Jean Grey, marking the beginning of the X-Men's integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, other Spider-Man characters, such as Mary Jane Watson or Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), remain possibilities.Whoever she plays, the role is expected to be significant, with insiders indicating that Sink's involvement will be pivotal in shaping the future of the franchise. With the trilogy's original arc concluding in No Way Home, the next Spider-Man movie is set to explore new territory. Holland's Peter Parker now exists in a world where no one remembers him, allowing for a fresh start in storytelling. This shift also means an opportunity to introduce new allies—and adversaries—into his life. The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige producing.Sink has been in high demand following her breakout performance in Stranger Things, and her career shows no signs of slowing down. She recently wrapped filming on the Netflix series' final season, which is set to premiere in 2025. Before stepping onto the Spider-Man set, she will appear in the Broadway production John Proctor Is the Villain (opening April 4) and in the upcoming Searchlight musical O'Dessa, which debuted to strong reviews at SXSW and is set for a Hulu release next week.As for Holland, he is currently filming Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic The Odyssey and is expected to begin work on Spider-Man once that wraps. With production set to begin later this year, Sink's casting adds another layer of intrigue to an already highly anticipated film. Whether she's playing an X-Men mutant, a Spider-Man love interest, or a completely new character, her involvement signals a major moment for both the MCU and her own rising career.Who Is Sink Playing? With a rich background in languages and science, creative pursuits were encouraged during Nancy Dillingham Marks' childhood, but not fully embraced by the young Nancy. On leaving school Nancy's professional life was dominated by analytical roles, and she excelled in various corporate positions, including at Sony Pictures. What Nancy didn't realize at the time was that her path to success was not only fuelled by her organizational skills, but by intertwining those with creative problem-solving. A personal and professional shift lead Nancy to explore her mother's enthusiasm for fused glass, which quickly became the creative outlet she had been looking for.Faced with the closure of her local glass studio, Nancy once again brought her corporate experiences into play as she opened her own studio, Glass Arts Collective. In this episode Nancy emphasizes the importance of community and support in nurturing creativity, as she reflects on how her friends stepped in to help her teach and grow her business. She is excited to tell me all about her studio's welcoming environment, where novices often arrive feeling uncertain about their creativity, only to leave with newfound confidence and a sense of accomplishment. How are you helping to crack open hearts and mend the frayed community we live in? In this episode, Jeff and Kelly discuss: Kelly's transformational experience in South Africa in her early 20s. The beauty of meeting new people and learning from them. Identifying your superpower. The need for engaging, values-based entertainment and programming. Key Takeaways: We are all different. If you are curious and kind, you can always find something that connects you to someone else. One of the biggest risks to success and happiness is allowing the day to take us through without spending our time intentionally.Be willing to take risks. Ask yourself at every juncture, do I want to go left or right? It will free you from the machine. God's time and path may not be what we expect, but it is guided by Him. Only in retrospect can we see that path. "Our job is not to preach. Our job is to crack open hearts. And you crack open hearts with high emotional stakes, with the realization that people can find themselves and their stories on the screen." — Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten Episode References: The Spiritual Art of Business by Barry L. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Marvel finally gave us our first official look at The Fantastic Four: First Steps with the release of the teaser trailer during a special launch event Tuesday morning, for which The First Family's cast itself was on hand to present AND WHAT A TRAILER IT WAS…Marvel led the drop with a space race-esque countdown in theme with the film's 1960s aesthetic. We met all of the four main characters and even saw a glimpse of the biggest bad of all…Galactus. Last week we reported on Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch's statements about officially not being a part of Avengers: Doomsday. The very next day the actor recanted his claims in an interview with Business Insider, saying, "I got that wrong, I am in the next one,” adding, "Don't ever believe anything I say." Elsewhere, Chris Evans had a record of his own to set straight, denying the many reports that he has been cast to return in Doomsday while speaking with Esquire, claiming, “That's not true, though. This always happens. I mean, it happens every couple years — ever since Endgame. I've just stopped responding to it. Yeah, no — happily retired!” Finally, in an interview on Andy Cohen Live, the legendary Patti LuPone may have shed some light on the future of Disney Plus series WandaVision and Agatha All Along, saying showrunner Jac Schaeffer told her she doesn't do second seasons. Sunday's Super Bowl LIX, where the Kansas City Chiefs will defend their title against the Philadelphia Eagles, is bound to bring a bevy of trailers for movies and series in tow, but let's talk about what exactly is confirmed, expected, predicted, and everything in between: only three motion picture studios have been willing to invest the substantial sum of $7.5 to $8 million for a single 30-second commercial spot: Disney, Paramount, and Universal. Disney plans to showcase trailers for several anticipated films, including the live-action remake of Snow White, the animated feature Lilo & Stitch, the original animated film Elio, and upcoming Marvel entries such as Thunderbolts*. Paramount is expected to promote its diverse lineup, which includes the Jack Quaid-led action film Novocaine, a musical Smurfs movie featuring Rihanna, and the latest installment in the Mission Impossible franchise, Final Reckoning. Universal may reveal trailers for How To Train Your Dragon, the horror sequel M3GAN 2.0, and Jurassic World Rebirth. Notably absent is Warner Bros and DC Studios. Actor-director Benny Safdie will join Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Odyssey, following his role as Edward Teller in Oppenheimer. Recent cast additions include Elliot Page, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, and Samantha Morton. Netflix is developing a new Little House on the Prairie series, 40 years after NBC's original adaptation, this time with Rebecca Sonnenshine of The Vampire Diaries and The Boys as showrunner. Jake Gyllenhaal will star in M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming supernatural romantic thriller, which Shyamalan and Nicholas Sparks are collaboratively developing as both a film screenplay and a novel. Sony Pictures has set a release date of August 29th for Darren Aronofsky‘s Austin Butler-led feature Caught Stealing. The film that previously held that date, the sixth film in the Insidious franchise, has moved back a year to Aug. 21, 2026. Robert Eggers has closed a deal to write and direct a new Labyrinth film for TriStar Pictures. Plot details are under wraps, but sources tell Deadine that the film is a sequel to, rather than a remake of, Jim Henson's 1986 classic.

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Last Wednesday morning, Marvel Television treated fans to the long awaited first official teaser trailer for Daredevil: Born Again. The trailer was met with universal praise for its dark tone and brutal depictions of violence, elements that it shares with the beloved Netflix series. The nine-episode first season premieres March 4 on Disney Plus. In some Captain America news, it was confirmed that Brave New World will have a total runtime of one hour and 58 minutes, which ties it with Ant-Man & The Wasp as the seventh shortest MCU flick to date. It will also be the first Captain America film under two hours long. It's brand new news today, Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to star in Shawn Levy's future Star Wars film. Levy's film has been in development with Lucasfilm since 2022, and getting Gosling seems like it could be a major step in getting the film truly off the ground and into the galaxy far, far away. Last we knew, the film was not to be set within the Skywalker saga The use of AI has been a frequent hot topic for Hollywood in recent years, reaching a seeming fever pitch during the 2023 WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes as a major point of negotiation. While the dust seemed to have settled a bit with the resolution of those strikes, new controversies plaguing high profile films and filmmakers have brought the discussion back to the forefront. First, Taxi Driver writer and First Reformed director, Paul Schrader, opined, in a since much lambasted Facebook post, the benefits of using a platform like ChatGPT for film ideas, in contrast to waiting the months it can take writers to ideate. Elsewhere, awards season favorite and Oscar hopeful, The Brutalist, has come under fire after an editor revealed generative A.I. was used to enhance the authenticity of the lead performers Hungarian accents. Emily Beecham and David Krumholtz have signed on to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, portraying the parents of Kara Zor-El. Production on the DC Studios film commenced last week. Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for “Until Dawn,” the live-action adaptation of the popular 2015 PlayStation horror game. The film is currently set to be released on April 25th. After nearly 15 years of shaping Spider-Man's adventures at Marvel Comics, Eisner Award winner Dan Slott is making the move to DC. The acclaimed writer will make his DC debut on Superman Unlimited, a new monthly series featuring art by American Vampire co-creator Rafael Albuquerque. Westworld star Thandiwe Newton and Silo's Steve Zahn have joined Paul Rudd and Jack Black in Columbia's comedy reboot of Anaconda. Nintendo has revealed its Switch 2 console with first look images and a teaser trailer, confirming a 2025 release. Uma Thurman has joined the cast of Dexter series Dexter: Resurrection and will star alongside Michael C. Hall. Filmmaker David Lynch, who created celebrated counterculture classics like Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and co-created Twin Peaks, has died at 78. A24 and Picturestart are teaming with director Charlie Polinger for a revisionist and darkly comedic take on The Masque of The Red Death, based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allen Poe. Sydney Sweeney is currently in negotiations to star. After extensive negotiations, IMAX has secured a deal to exclusively screen Greta Gerwig's Netflix adaptation of "Narnia" in theaters worldwide for two weeks, beginning Thanksgiving 2026, before its streaming debut that Christmas. Joel McHale has joined the cast of Scream 7 and will play Mark Evans, the husband to Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott. A24 has released the first trailer for upcoming horror film Opus, which hits theaters on March 14th. The film stars Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis, and Amber Midthunder.
