Kane Brown called in to chat with Audacy Chicago US99's Melissa and Austin and revealed one of his biggest regrets, that he's never told anyone before. During a harmless game of One's Gotta Go, Melissa asked Kane, if he had to choose, which tattoo would he give the boot to, the Batman tattoo on his chest or the microphone tattoo on his hand. Kane's answer came with a quickness, saying the Batman tattoo had to go, actually, the Country music star noted, “It's not even Batman no more… I'm surprised nobody's asked me about this.” “I hate this tattoo,” Kane confessed, adding the ink actually helps keep him modest, sharing “I'm actually grateful because my shirt stays on a lot more… my team always tries to get me to take my shirt off.” Doubling down with disdain, Kane continued, “I can't stand this tattoo on my chest. It started when I was 18 and it's been a cover-up three times. I've been trying to get this done since I was 18. And now it's turned into a hawk and you can actually tell if I take my shirt off, but if I don't take my shirt off, you can't see the hawk's face. Despite the three attempted cover-ups, Kane admitted said hawk tattoo still isn't even finished. Revealing, “I still need like two hours on it, but it's so dark and black that I have scar tissue there… when you go over it, it just, it hurts so bad.” Despite Brown only being 18 when he decided to send up the bat signal on his chest, Austin was curious if the decision was at all alcohol induced or if simply just thought it was a cool idea back then. “So I saw a lot of cool tattoos back then, of like Batman and Spiderman, Superman, and it looked like it was ripping through the chest. That's what I was originally going for,” Kane shared. “But the tattoo artist that I was using went down a bad rabbit hole and got on drugs and stuff.” Detailing the complicated story, Kane began, “So while he was tattooing me, he finished half of it,” noting, “I had something I had skulls underneath it originally." "So when I went back to get it done," he continues, "he was sober this time and he goes, ‘bro, I thought we finished that' and I was like, ‘no dude.' And he goes, ‘Well, I'm not gonna be able to do it because you're gonna be able to see the stuff underneath.' So Kane revealed the plan was to come up with something that can cover it up, deciding, “OK, let's do batman because it's all black.” “So then he halfway finishes it, then he goes to jail… I have to wait a year because no other tattoo artist will touch it,” Kane continued. “But after I found out what he went to jail for… I was like, I'm not messing with this guy anymore. I had to find my new tattoo artist and he's been working on it forever.” Given all the complications and regrets Kane has gone through over this one tattoo, Melissa asked Kane, “What would you do if one of your daughters wanted to get a tattoo at that age.” And once again his answer came with a quickness, answering, “No, I already got a song about it.” Elsewhere in the conversation Brown also talked about Windy City Smokeout, and what Marshmello is really like. With less than a month until the arrival of his first child, Parker McCollum says he's ready to embrace everything about fatherhood… except the dad songs. While catching up with Audacy's Scott Kay at Chicago's Windy City Smokeout over the weekend Parker shared he has zero plans to write or sing songs about fatherhood. “No Dad songs for me,” Parker said. “I don't want to write cliché dad songs. He went on to clarify, “If one falls out one day,” he wouldn't fight it, but he doesn't see himself sitting down and writing dad songs anytime soon. While he may not be committed to writing dad songs, Parker is still very much committed to his craft while he readies to become a dad and says he's ready to find a balance between fatherhood and his career. “I just want to be extremely genuine and energetic, I want to make sure when these people go home, they feel like the money they spent or the money they saved up to come see you was worth every penny — that's what I think about every night.” Hear more about how Parker is preparing for fatherhood, the release of new music and so much more by checking out his entire conversation with Audacy's Scotty Kay above. While we're still about a month away from the release of Thomas Rhett's new album, About A Woman, the 34-year-old is promising fans the new project will be well worth the wait. In addition to releasing two songs from the album earlier this year; “Beautiful As You” in May and “Gone Country” in June, Rhett recently debuted another track from the project titled, “Overdrive,” which he says is another example of just how proud this project makes him. “I feel like this whole record was sort of made with a very free mindset of whatever feels good goes,” he shared with Audacy's Scotty Kay while at Chicago's Windy City Smokeout. “There was no box for me, which is how it should be. It's supposed to be fun.” He continued, “I wrote Overdrive at a writing camp in Chattanooga with a couple buddies of mine [and] if you know me, you know I'm a sucker for nostalgia. I kind of touched into my younger high school self and basically, this song is just the adrenaline and the feeling of going and picking a girl up on the first date… no matter what plans you had with your friends, they just get completely destroyed if a girl calls you.” Rhett hopes the joy he found while creating the album with radiate to those that listen. “I'm so jacked,” he said of how he feels being so close to sharing the full album. “I still, to this day, listen all the way through the album at least once a day and that has really never happened to me… I always kind of burn out a little bit.” He continued, “The finest part to me is every couple of weeks, I find a new favorite on the record.” We're counting down the days until we get to hear all our new favorites, but until then, hear more about the album, inspiration behind it, and the connection Thomas Rhett has to Chicago by listening to his entire conversation with Audacy's Scotty Kay above. Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, have become #marriagegoals for a lot of fans who see the fun-loving couple tackle life together with lots of laughs on social media. While the childhood sweethearts have a dreamy love story, TR says their successful marriage is the product of a lot of hard work and therapy. “We've been to a lot of therapy, I will say that,” Rhett told Audacy's Scotty Kay. “For me, just learning to be fully transparent and be able to voice what my expectations are and for her to be able to do the same thing, I feel like you let each other down less when you know what the expectation is.” Rhett admits that the tools he's learned in therapy have benefited all relationships in his life and believe they are applicable to any type of relationship and any type of person. “I think full honesty and transparency is the secret to any relationship. Whether a friend or a mom or a dad or a wife, husband, whatever — full transparency is what's kind of got us through a lot of times.” Hear more from TR on therapy, his debut at Chicago's Windy City Smokeout and so much more by checking out his conversation with Scotty Kay above.
