Here we are, Thanksgiving 2020. For some of you not much has changed this year, but for many Americans, their world has been slammed upside down. Here in the Black Hills Families, Friends, Co-workers, Brothers, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, Grand-kids and many others have become separated. Not only has Covid played a big part in separating us but also one another being on opposite sides ofBlack Lives Matter vs All Lives Matter, Being an Essential vs Non-Essential, Wear a Mask or I'm Not Wearing A Mask, Democrat vs Republican, Biden or Trump."leaders don't create followers, they create more leaders"-Tom PetersOur generation is coming up to lead this State, Country, and Community. I'm here to show those of us with a not so perfect record, tattoos and some bad choices we've made we are still able to help our neighbors in our community and we can have Conversations with Leaders in a civil way. Thank you Mayor Allender for coming on the podcast and having a chat.A Conversation is the first step to getting shit done. I hope you all are enjoying time with your Families, have a great day and keep your head up this wont last forever. We know times are tough right now but if like what were doing here at Black Hills Podcast you can keep us going by buying me a coffee or supporting us via PayPal or Venmo. In a time of so much Negativity we need to promote some Positivity. Fountain Springs had a bad rep i didnt even know about a long time ago but i see them doing more good for the community in the Black Hills than any other Church. I may not be religious but i do believe in church's that promote being a good human. I hope you enjoy this episode and thanks for listening. Obviously I am not familiar at all with the jobs of the City Council, County Commissioners, Ward Representatives or anything Political. The best way to educate myself is to get to know those that are in office in our community. I was afraid it was going to be a snooze but it was very insightful for me to hear of how the Commission is working with Teen Up and the Rapid City Youth City Council educating and giving them experience so our community and those around us are more prepared for the future and ready to hit a pandemic head on if it ever happens again (i hope not). Of all people, i get to sit down with Captain James John of the RCPD. I think the community needs to hear from the local Law Enforcement on a one on one level because the more the citizens can see how transparent the police are and hear of new ways they are trying to improve not only the community but also our safety, the more we wont be left in the dark. We discuss COVID-19, the Meth problem in South Dakota, Body Cams, Marijuana,DUI's and LYFT getting people home safe and what ever came off the top of my head. The Hip-Hop/Rap Scene is very small in the Black Hills although it is the most popular genre listened to. Brandis aka B of Dakota South Records has been doing it since 2007 and keeps going strong. The music scenes change dramatically decade to decade, although the style may change B. keeps going and is putting out one more full length album the end of 2020 or beginning on 2021.Check his music out herehttps://open.spotify.com/track/6dcKOnzr3eu6IVxLcqcmEV?si=3poLJfzASCCetl35KvSoswMusic Video herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWjA7DqyH08Listen to the Full Episode herehttps://open.spotify.com/show/0nax2Mu2Zos444LP0oWPb1?si=hdFvBtwUSm-B066VbxAstQAYOO GAMING!https://www.facebook.com/ayoogaming1
There is a lot of confusion out there about the COVID-19 Virus and i just wanted to talk with some community leaders who are working with other medical and government officials at this time. The Pennington County Emergency Management Dept. makes sure things are still functioning in our community and at this time there is preparation but nothing to worry about as long as we all still take some precaution. I hope to just help the community by bringing some awareness. Thanks for being a guest Mr Willett
If you've ever hit Rock Bottom, Danny and I know that you don't have to stay down or continue your life being a f@#$ up. We all have had our problems and some of us realize that we aren't perfect and we strive to do better. Danny's story of his troubled past to how he got his shit together and became a successful Entrepreneur is definitely the definition of the American Dream with struggles, sacrifices, and success. Keep your head up if your feeling down and out, Danny's story will give you a little perspective on how hard work pays off. Thanks Danny for stopping by the studio.
One of the things the Black Hills are known for is Sturgis Rally and its motorcycle riders. We have the beautifulest back yard to ride in. I wanted to know if BHHD does anything for the community since it is one of the largest Harley dealers and Mike is not only in Marketing for BHHD but he is also a real member of the community and a rider himself. Riding has always been a passion for me as well and after i finished this episode i thought why not start an all Motorcycle Podcast for all the riders and enthusiasts out there so if you love choppers, bobbers, cafe racers what ever, keep an eye out for Black Hills Motorcycle Podcast coming soon.Check out the Harleys athttps://www.blackhillshd.com instahttps://www.instagram.com/blackhillshd/
Who better to invite into the studio to Spotlight for Woman Wednesday than someone who Spotlights other Women in the Community. Tracy is a strong female that's very intellectual and inspiring. I used to DJ at a club back when they were packed from 10 to 2, it was fun but not a long term gig for my short attention span. DJ'n is a lot harder than it looks folks. So i got these 3 wild cats together to talk about how they gave up their freedom on the weekends to spin some jams in the clubs around the Black Hills. We flew wayyy off the rails on this conversation but i had such a good time having these fellas on to share with you all a lil insight on how it is to be a DJ around here. Thank you guys for coming on mad props for sticking it out and playing those jams every weekend.SHOUT OUT to Ignite Clubhttps://www.facebook.com/Ignite-Nightclub-1662622204021792/Teddys Night Club (check it out) https://www.facebook.com/Teddyssportsgrill/Bodega Night Clubhttps://buffalobodega.com

Here's a few tips from my brainy sister Dionne to give you an idea on how to get it together and why you should talk to a financial adviser.
