Having respect for the trade and wanting to be involved first hand are two different things. But once he joined, Dr. Hughbank did not look back. After cross commissioning from Air Force to Army, multiple combat deployments in OIF and OEF, and helping mold young military leaders at both West Point and USAFA… Ret. Maj. Hughbank decided to take on a new challenge in the civilian sector- earning himself a Doctorate. He began educating others about firearms, as well as leadership. He has contributed to multiple literary works including The Dynamics of Terror…a look into what makes and creates the modern terrorist. During the making of Dark Sabre season 1, our team sat down with some brave and amazing individuals…from former employees of the Air Force Academy, to current and former cadets. One of our most impactful guests was Teresa Beasley, a civilian who worked as a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator within the military for over 30 years, and important to our investigation, she held this role at the Air Force Academy from 2007-2017. While performing this role at the United States Air Force Academy, Teresa found herself dealing with more cases of assault than she had ever seen, as well as an institution that was all too willing to do everything in their power to silence those who wished to bring this issue to light.
