So many people stay stagnant. They overthink. They come up with excuses. They blame their finances. They blame the timing of their life. Why are most people self-sabotaging their own success and growth? Almost always it's a lack of CONFIDENCE. CONFIDENCE to take the next step to create this new way is what’s the most necessary trait in my personal opinion. So many people sit on the sidelines just waiting for to something to happen or change for them and fall into their lap. That's not how the universe works. You have to ask believe and receive. You can’t receive without taking inspired action. This is where all your growth happens. This is where you change for the better and become the person you should be who has succeeded and knows how to handle the success. The person who knows how to handle the house, or cars, or the new promotion. etc. You see so many people don’t understand this part. Whatever you are asking for, you first have to become that person who can handle all that you are asking for. You have to go through the path and that means go through some trials and tribulations. You have to push your own boundaries. You have to try and fail and get back up and do it again. This builds character, persistence, attitude, vigor, strength, and confidence! Two main ways to gain UNSTOPPABLE CONFIDENCE Observe and learn from those you look up to. For example mentors, celebrities, entrepreneurs, etc. and learn about their process and the troubles they may have faced. Then mimic their way of handling fear or adversity and ultimately achieving success. Get tunnel vision. Don't stray Listen to the full episode for more !!

Inspire by a personal incident in the last week, Nina decided to discuss how to be self aware and conscious in an unconscious world/setting. It's easier to always take the high road when you have less human interaction with others. But most of us go to a job or work everyday that requires hours and hours of human interaction. With human interaction comes ego, trigger points, high emotions and the difficult choice of making a conscious choice or an unconscious choice. Individuals who are on the path of reaching their highest potential usually tend to do the brunt of the inner work when it comes to self awareness and self understanding. After years of trial and error, making new friends, loosing old friends, shedding jobs or careers they don't align with them, distancing themselves from family members who aren't supportive etc, they tend to feel as though they have mastered "spirituality." But then they go back out into the world, and their human interaction spikes and one tiny incident can make them feel as though they took two steps forward in mastering themselves but then took 3 steps backward just when they thought they got the hang of life. This happens to ALL of us. It is HARD work to always be self aware and always respond to people and life in a conscious manner. We aren't perfect beings. We are progressive beings. WHAT IS SELF AWARENESS THOUGH? Basic definition: it is the ability to pay attention to who you are and what makes you tick Complex definition: it involves developing an understanding of your deeper beliefs, inner wounds, mental and emotional defense mechanisms and repressed unconscious material. In simpler terms it's; deep self understanding. Listen to the full episode to hear Nina & Brian discuss: examples of self awareness why it is so important to be self aware why it is so hard for us to be self aware practical steps you can take to be self aware and conscious in an unconscious world/setting Book: "The Art of Living" by Thich Nhat Hanh "Peace is Every Step" by Thich Nhat Hanh Quote: “you can't get away from yourself by moving from one place to another.” “Strong people have a strong sense of self-worth and self-awareness; they don't need the approval of others.” “The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.”

Welcome everyone! If you're back joining us, thank you so much for your loyalty to our show and if your new then thank you for giving our a podcast a chance! Today's topic was a suggestion from a "Deep Thoughts w/the Dixons" listener! Oddly enough, the night before this was recorded Nina had a terrible experience with overthinking only to wake up the next day and realize the podcast she has to record on is about OVERTHINKING and being over analytical. There are two types: Over analytical, over thinker leading to analysis paralysis Stuck in a cycle of worrying about something that will probably never happen For the Over Analytical/Over-thinker: 10 steps to snap out of it for GOOD! Stop waiting for perfection Don't assume Be more proactive; do stuff Ask yourself the right type of questions Have a sounding board Create a plan and totally commit to it Stop rationalizing, justifying or explaining to others why you are not doing something Keep a success diary Get out of your thoughts- meditate Have a safe word!- when you catch yourself loosing yourself in your thoughts, snap out of it and yell something out loud to yourself. For example "stop thinking so negatively!" or "stop making up shit in your head!" or "knock it off this isn't helping you! For the Worry Wort Stuck in A Worry Cycle: 1 step to snap out of it for GOOD! Be OKAY with uncertainty and force yourself to just be. Sometimes life throw us curveballs and as much as we want to control the narrative, or outcome we just can't. We are more likely than not being forced to just be okay with not knowing how something is or will be. This is helping us relinquish control and trust in something greater than us. Take solace in the fact that whatever happens you will be well equipped to handle it. Sit with uncertainty and not knowing long enough and you'll realize you don't have to be at the beckoning call of your rampant thoughts making up scenarios/problems that aren't even going to happen. Books: "Rewire Your Anxious Brain" by Catherine M Pittman "The Storm Inside" by Sheila Walsh "Overthinking" by Robert Leary Quote: "Overthinking, the art of creating problems that weren't even there"
Last week we discussed jealousy amongst our peers. This week its all about romantic relationships and marriages! In this episode we discuss: 1) Where did jealousy in love begin? 2) How did we learn otherwise and overcome the childish jealousy? 3) Is jealousy a sign of love or insecurity? 4) How to stop being a jealous partner 5) How to handle a jealous partner Books: "Daring to Trust" by David Richo "Courage to Cure Codependency" by Leah Clarke Quotes: "Jealousy only eats up your beauty. Have more faith in yourself, you got something that other people don't." "The jealous are troublesome to others but a torment to themselves."
There are better morning routines than Googling people you envy and hating yourself as a result. Jealousy is something we have all experienced at one point or another in our lives. But, if it's not healed it can consume you and eventually destroy you. Fun Facts: 80% of people check their phones in the AM. (within 15 minutes of waking up) 63% of them check social media at this time There are better ways to start your morning than bombarding your mind with what other people are doing. Subconsciously you are destroying your confidence, you are comparing and judging instead of focusing on YOUR well-being and on your path in this world. Focusing too much on your peers forces you to be on the sidelines watching others succeed as you fall behind. It's your own doing. Your investing your time into falling behind whereas your peers are busy living their lives. This all leads to self hate, uncertainty, envy, jealousy, lack of confidence, and procrastination. By comparing/observing others' way, you loose your way. VALUBALE TAKEAWAYS: What anyone is doing or not doing, how far ahead or behind in life they are, or how great someone's life may be IS YOUR PERCEPTION in comparison to you and your life. I like to call this limited perception. There is an error in your data right from the start and based on this erroneous data you become jealous? You compare? You assume? You get bitter? You judge? You see someone's post or status and assume you know what this person's life is all about? You assume it's better than yours? What someone else is doing does not mean you should too. Two people can be in the same predicament, situation or career and it does NOT MEAN either or is right or wrong. You can take a different path as the other person and both still be very successful in your careers. Be inspired. Use these moments to be inspired by your peers or motivated by them. Not bitter, jealous or envious of them. See your peers as proof that all that which you desire is possible for you too! Books: "The Jealousy Cure" by Robert Leahy "Overcoming Retroactive Jealousy" by Zachary Stockhill Quote: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent"
In this episode you will learn how to avoid burnouts in any area of your life; career, health, relationships, social life etc. Questions to Ask Yourself: Are you loosing your passion for life? Do you spend more time laying around instead of enjoying moments/life? Are you unmotivated? Perhaps uninterested in everything around you? Do you spend more time thinking about doing things as opposed to actually doing them? We've all experienced burnouts before and sometimes we are so deep into it, we don't even realize that the physical symptoms we may be experiencing are sure signs of a burnout. Signs You May Be Burned Out: Exhaustion; physical/emotional. Chronic fatigue. Cynicism. A short fuse. Detachment Lack of accomplishment Unmotivated and uninspired Negativity 4 Easy Yet Effective Steps To Avoid Burnouts: Do something for others. Serve others. Volunteer. Make sure it is separate from your current job Disconnect from technology and spend time outside. Do this for 2-3 days in a row. Submerse yourself into something creative just for fun Take a vacay. Just do it. Don't think twice. Quote: "Don't Say You Don't Have Enough Time"
This episode is all about being/feeling OFFENDED. Are you easily offended? Do you always take what others do/say personally? Are you always trying to defend yourself to others? Being offended is by far one of the most negative emotional states one can find themselves in. When someone feels offended, they are basically giving their personal power away to someone else or something. How can this be healthy? How is this any way to live? Being offended is a CHOICE. Allowing another person to hurt your feelings or allowing someone to offend you is nothing short of self-imposed mental cruelty. Listen to the full episode to learn more. Quote: "You do you, boo"
Welcome back everyone! TOPIC: Throw Away Your Past/Your Old Story. You may be confusing your past story with your current and future one. Too much attachment to our old story leads to victimhood, an unfulfilling life, and repeat scenarios. All of which is self inflicted and can be changed starting today! In this episode you will learn: How to get rid of your old, past/bad story How to stop replaying it. You may not even know you replay it. How to create a new healthy story for yourself ! Some examples of new rewritten stories To allow something from your past to dictate your actions or beliefs (which affect your actions, which then affect your life) is senseless. This type of behavior makes you helpless, makes you feel like you are the victim to life's circumstances. People tell themselves all kinds of stories and live in them as if they are forever attached to it. There is a scientific reason for this; comfort. Many individuals tend to stay in the past and replay it over and over again and allow their beliefs and actions all to be shaped by it too because they want to stay in that victimhood mentality. Not that anyone purposely does this but subconsciously its the ego's way of allowing individuals to NOT do the work that is necessary to bring forth positive change in their lives. An example would be of a man who has been divorced twice and now chalks up his life to staying single and just casually dating around because "he's no good in marriages." Or he blames women all together for his lack of interest in a healthy, adult relationship. This man is replaying his past story over and over again and allowing his beliefs to be shaped by his past, and worst, allowing his actions in the present, be shaped by the past. His romantic will never change until he rewrites a NEW story for himself by accepting his part in the past experiences and making conscious changes to himself and to his perception of women and love. 5 STEPS TO ELIMINATE YOUR PAST AND REWRITE A NEW STORY FOR YOURSELF: Right here, right now accept the FACT that your past is NOT your now and it is NOT your future. It's physically and scientifically impossible for your past to be now or in the future. It's gone. Accept it. Believe that you can and will a better now and an even better future. Believe that you deserve that goodness in your life. Believe that you deserve a new story Learn how and why you too were a part of the past bad story. You played a part in it too. Take accountability for that. Start again. Fresh. Go for it. Put pen to paper, plan, add a timeline and start LISTEN TO THE FULL EPISODE FOR A PRO TIP ON THIS TOPIC! One week into this brand New Year and we are feeling inspired, motivated and grateful by all of the amazing support we have received from all of our listeners from all over the world! We dropped a new podcast cover, we have added show notes to EVERY single episode, each packed with VALUE all for you guys! There is so much more coming in 2020 and we are over the moon excited to share it all with you guys!! TOPIC OF DISCUSSION: "HOW DO YOU MEASURE YOUR SELF-WORTH?' This is major. This question requires a lot of honesty and a lot breaking down old habits and patterns. It's not something that comes easy to all of us, yet I truly believe it's one of the most important questions we must take the time to answer for ourselves. In this episode you will learn: What Self-Worth Is How Many of Us Incorrectly Measure It Why We Are So Incorrect In How Measure Our Self-Worth Is There A Right/Wrong Way to Measure Our Worth How Brian and Nina Used to Measure Their Self-Worth How Nina and Brian Measure Their Self- Worth Today BOOKS: "UnFuck Yourself" by Gary John Bishop "Get Out Of Your Own Way" by Mark Goulston "You Are Enough" by Mandy Hale "The Infinite Game" by Simon Senuk QUOTE: "Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth" Connect with Nina on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn Connect with Brian on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Today's podcast is jam packed with VALUE. Both Nina and Brian, this previous weekend with a lot of thought and dedication, "reverse engineered their life and goals." What is Reverse Engineering? This means you will look at the end result, such as your goals and then figure out how you will get there. What you will do is work from that end result backwards until you make it to where you are currently at. Highly realized people learn to think and feel from the end. That is, they experience what they wish to intend before it shows up in material form in their life. On a basic energetic level, when we want something it all begins with a desire. It begins with liking or admiring something. Over long periods of time it turns into "want", "need," "don't have it yet," etc. The latter is negative energy and blocks your path to achieving or having whatever it is you desire. The universe continuously keeps in a state of "not having it" because that it what you are putting out and saying. All you have to do is stay in the desire, the admiration, the liking phase of something and take calculative, educated, informed ACTIONS towards it. Then it will materialize. Nina's Tip: When thinking of your goals or attaining something you want, keep it light and airy. Think of it as a crush on someone. When you have a crush on someone you aren't negative, you aren't thinking about the future or the details of if, when or how you will ever be with that person. You just love, and bask in the moment and smile whenever that person is around, or when you think of that person. You are happy, airy and lighthearted about it. That is exactly how you should be when thinking about goals or things you want. Don't let the passage of time, make you bitter, or make you doubt or worst make you realize the goal hasn't been attained or you don't have that shiny new car yet. Instead continue to have a "crush" on your goals/desires AND take methodical, educated ACTION towards them. Step By Step Reverse Engineering Your Life/Goals: After you heed the advice above take the following steps Pick 5 goals. Think about this before you choose. Ideally you want to pick the top 5 that you ABSOLUTELY want to achieve in 2020 Start at the end. What do you want out of life. Work backwards filling in the previous step. Now you will see the natural path. You will see whether or not your current actions/decisions/beliefs are aligned with your end goal. Keep going with step 3 for each goal till you are at present day Go back and add key points/methods to each step. Be clear and detailed. Make adjustments as needed throughout the year. Think of this as a live, living document that you adjust, tweek and change as you follow Nina's Tips: Be prepared to take ACTION Be ready, willing and able to CHANGE Stay committed and dedicated to this journey Become obsessed with bettering your life Stick to this PLAN! Nina used a resource called "Strategic Future By Design" by The Skinny Confidential. It's absolutely amazing and so helpful when reverse engineering your goals/life. Go to the link, at the end of this sentence, to download and print the pdf. It's exactly what Nina and Brian used to fill in their goals and reverse engineer their year 2020. https://www.theskinnyconfidential.com/goal-setting-worksheet-free-printable/ BOOKS: "Reverse Engineer Your Future" by Paul James available on Amazon Quote: "Do or Do Not; There is No Try"
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Today's episode is packed with "thinking outside the box." Multi-faceted people aren't celebrated as they should be in our society. Nina & Brian dig into why they should be and how anyone can work on themselves and their craft in multiple industry verticals and STILL be successful. A one track mind isn't a once size fits all approach. It works for some but for many it does not. Enjoy!
On this week's episode Nina & Brian continue the theme from last week; be better in 2020. Something we can all use a little bit of help with is forgiveness. Learn how to officially let go of all of this baggage, once and for all, and ring in the New Year with a fresh start! Welcome to another brand new episode of this podcast! Today, in honor of this last month of the year, Nina & Brian reflect back on this year. They share the tough moments but also share the positive lessons they have learned and hope to apply in all of 2020. By taking you on their reflective journey they will show you how you too may have had a very successful year in 2019, all it takes a little peek in your rearview mirror to acknowledge just how far you have come. Many of the times success is made up of small insignificant moments, therefore, leaving us feeling like we haven't made strides in our life. This is almost always a lie. We ALL have made progress if we just take the time to look back and appreciate the journey thus-far. Some hurdles we all may have experienced this year that Nina & Brian discuss are: Fear, Doubt, Feelings of Unworthiness, Impatience & Insecurity Some positive lessons your hosts will discuss that they intend on applying in 2020 are: (1) Dream Big; you will always get what you have the guts to ask for (2) Take Risks; the right people & resources will appear (3) The more fearful you are, the more you must do it (4) Enjoy Life more (5) You will always receive your heart's truest desires, but not in the way you thought (6) Become the vibrational match of who or what you want/to become (7) Put on blinders, ignore the chatter of the world around you Don't forget to connect with Nina & Brian on Instagram! @ninapaldixon & @briandixon06

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF OUR LISTENERS IN THE U.S.! Today's episode is brought to you by a "Deep Thoughts w/the Dixons" podcast listener! In addition to this, they get you thinking about the difference between negative people and those who call themselves realists. Is there a difference? Listen to find out! Enjoy!
This is Brian's dream episode and he was way too excited to record this one. In this mentally stimulating episode you will hear your hosts discuss what they THINK MIGHT be the future of our people in areas such as education, nutrition, fitness, & careers. Hope you enjoy!
They are back again this week with a new topic! This particular topic was suggested by a "Deep Thoughts w/the Dixons" listener. A huge thank you to her for taking the time out to reach out to Nina and share her ideas/thoughts about negativity in the workplace. Enjoy! Books: 1. The 5 languages Of Appreciation In The Workplace by Gary Champan 2. Rising Above a Toxic Workplace by Gary Chapman Quote: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
Ever wonder why we worry? Where does worry come from? Anxiety? A neurological disorder? Is it Pessimism? Nina & Brian share some of their research on this topic and explain the human psyche behind worry, why we should stop and how to get rid of it for good. Does anything good ever come from worrying? Think about this for a second. Why worry? For what? It clouds judgement, it debilitates solutions, causes disdain, depression and mood swings, and then parlays into other areas of your life like a leech…. Is anything really THAT worth it? NO. Two types of worrying people: Always make things up. Believing that something bad will happen, all based on past experience or absorbed from the content they consume so they worry and think the worst; negative Nancys, always quick to stop you from doing something your way. Something happens, not as planned, and they project how it negatively affects the next day week and entire year now which throws off everything for them The Science Behind Worry- The Human Psyche: Control: It’s a craving for control. And the more we worry the less able our bodies can deal with something when it doesn't go our way or something happens we didn't expect. Programmed hereditary : In doing some research, I learned that worry is a habit of anxious or anxiety disorder. I learned that people who have a parent or parents who constantly worry are more apt to slowly pick up on these behaviors as well, as they get older they tend to fall onto the more serious side of anxiety disorder than their parents who were just chronic worriers. If that doesn't make you want to stop worrying, I don't know what will. How dare we take on the negative traits of our families and live in never ending turmoil? Believing in worst as opposed to best; aka pessimist v optimist. Default thinking. Confusion between attachment to past and the lesson learned Feeling lack as opposed to abundance Fear You want something or someone out of pressure. External pressure, judgement and/or need of acceptance 4 Ways to Stop/Worry Less: Accept it Objectively Allow and Be Happy with Uncertainty Let Go of Perfectionism Externalize the Worry Books: The Worry Cure by Robert Leahy Anxious For Nothing by Max Lucado How To Stop Worrying And Start Living by Dale Carnegie Quote: “Our fatigue is not caused by the work but by the worry” connect with Nina on instagram! @ninapaldixon connect with Brian on instagram! @briandixon06
