Zoom an. Brian Scotto is the co-founder of HOONIGAN, a brand that either created or found a new kind of car enthusiast that loved their cars but drove them in a way that some would call abusive. To the Hoonigans it was what was needed to go drifting, rally racing, or to just have fun. Burnouts: evolved. Working alongside business partner and mentor, Ken Block, they created the Gymkhana video series, holding the attention of over 550 million people and brands like Ford, Monster Energy, and Subaru. On this episode we talk about @brianscotto growing collection of Audis and VWs (some of which work); getting in early on the RWB Porsche craze; how a valve cover fix became a whole engine; the slippery slope of Audi love; the wonderful challenge that was working with Ken; and how the dark cloud of a sudden and terrible tragedy caused him and the HOONIGAN family to come together and reflect on the past and plan the future. Burnout is a real thing and can take you down! Spiritual burnout feels like pure exhaustion, crippling fatigue, rampant emotions, and constant overstimulation for me. Burnouts aren't necessarily a good thing, but they can reveal so much to us! In this Spirited Life Podcast episode, we will talk about spiritual burnout, why it happens, and how you can regroup in 5 minutes! With her expertise in HEALTHY EATING, WEIGHT LOSS, SPORTS NUTRITION, AND EATING DISORDER RECOVERY, she shares how she overcame her struggles and how she fought through adversities which then led to her very successful company Nutrition RX. Also in this episode, she shares her techniques on balancing work with life activities, avoiding burnout, and the importance of rest. From a business standpoint, she all shares her tips and methods on building a successful business. 10:18-10:59 Jennifer on her early Motivators why she got into nutrition 17:13-18:05 Food Habits Teaching people how to have this skill Prevention before "For me there's a place for hospitals, there's absolutely a place for sick care, we need people to take care of sick people in that very little acute place. But I was like "I DON'T WANT TO COMPLAIN, I WANNA BE PART OF THE SOLUTION '' and being part of the solution means teaching people how to have those skills, how to have a happy relationship with food. EVERYONE KNOWS what they need, it's not a knowledge problem, it's a system, environment, support problem. So if I could be at least a tiny part of teaching people : GOOD LIFE LONG HABITS, BUILDING SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENTS, THE RIGHT MINDSET , RESILIENCY, PROBLEM SOLVING , NOT USING FOOD TO SELF SOOTHE and for comfort , maybe I can stop another kid on thanksgiving not driving to the hospital to say goodbye to their dad. It worked out for my family but it almost didn't." -Jennifer Broxterman 18:06-18:57 Jennifer shares about her bad experiences working on her career 18:58-19:18 Being able to make a change on other individuals 23:08-23:48 Motivational Interviewing She shares about the art of behavior change Making known the science of Nutrition 35:11-35:58 Burnouts and how to avoid them Keeping a safe healthy limit Plan out everything 39:28-40:20 The Importance of Rest 58:31-58:36 Jennifer's thoughts on a schedule 1:04:08-1:04:35 She talks about what's great of having a 2 brain business "What's really good about a 2 brain business is that they're very data and dashboard oriented. We would love to pay for that, we would love to do a revenue share. You build the system, we'll share it to our audience". -Jennifer Broxterman 1:14:53-1:15:12 "Know yourself well, if you pile drive yourself like I piledriver myself, the best gift I ever gave myself was knowing my own rhythm of "WORKING HARD, NEEDING TIME TO RECOVER". They're the latest manifestations of car culture in the region — cousins to the drag races, lowrider cruises, V-dub love-ins and other gear-head gatherings that've gone on here for decades. And some people say the film franchise “Fast & Furious” is to blame. In a region where car culture is king and stunts are all over social media, residents, politicians and law enforcement have had enough. “The day you should stop working hard, is the day you die”. Unfortunately these are the kind of messages we're surrounded with these days as preached by business influencers and leaders. Pushing people to work hard, and fight hard for what they want without balance or break. I am not opposed to hard work and grit, but what I am opposed to is slaving our physical and emotional bodies to hard work in non sustainable ways and for no justifiable reasons, and that would often lead us to a burnout. I have recently experienced a career burnout and to say that I was suffering is an understatement. I've also been getting feedback from the One Day Podcast community to talk about this topic, and so I decided to dedicate this episode towards this theme. Burnout is a gradual process that creeps up on us and eventually could break us. It is therefore very important we deal with it before it develops into a bigger health problem. In this episode I explore some major signs of a burnout, the drivers of a burnout, my personal experience with career burnout as well as some practical solutions we could apply in our personal and professional lives to mitigate exhaustion levels. instagram: oneday.thepodcastTwitter: itsomaralmajaliYoutube: The One Day Podcast, with Omar Almajali#oneday #dayone #podcast #motivationeveryday #newpodcastepisode#youtubepodcasts #podcastguest #personalgrowth #professionaldevelopment #businessmindset #entrepreneurship #omaralmajali #arabpodcast#onedaythepodcast #Business #entrepreneur #inspiring #podcastshow #Anghami #spotify #youtube #businessadventure #inspiration #selfdevelopment #dubai #avoidingburnout #burnout #soloepisode
Success is only success if it feels like success - so how do you know you're setting the right goal of what success looks like?Jenna and I explored so many beautiful thoughts as we approached the conversation surrounding "How Are You, Really?" - Jenna's first book, which releases June 28th, and since I've already read it cover to cover, I can confirm- it's every bit as powerful as she is.The true topic of conversation here is boundaries, i.e. the line between breakthrough and burnout. We cover defining success, grief and loss, and what it means to truly have peace in our businesses. And how does peace ever really have a place in the life of a busy, energetic, high-achieving entrepreneur? Jenna believes it's possible.. because she lives it. I love the example she's now setting as a business owner - one filled with peaceful, rest-filled momentum. To check out the book, visit howareyoureallybook.com!
