I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Kelsi: hi dr. cabral! there is SO much conflicting information regarding coffee and PCOS. as someone who struggles with high androgen/testosterone production, should i not be drinking any caffeine? does caffeine really increase androgen hormones? i drink 1 cup of organic, mold free coffee per day. ive justified not giving it up due to how much joy it brings me. thanks!   Sarah: Hi Dr. Cabral, I get horrible gas when I eat energy balls that I make made of bobs red mill gluten free oats, nut butter, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and honey. I recently did the big 5 and none of these came up as a sensitivity. Why am I having gas with this and should I cut these out of my diet? I eat all of these separate at times and don't have the gas, but for whatever reason have it with all of them combined. I've completed your functional medicine detox, eat all organic, avoid seed oils, exercise appropriately, ect. I've also done testing that revealed candida overgrowth and some chemicals that were overwhelming my immune system. I've since cleared the candida, stopped wearing nail polish and started sauna regularly. I also use all clean products and have never taken birth control nor did I participate in any experimental therapy during the pandemic. I had one natural c-vid infection in March of 2022 and after that went 90 days without a cycle! Is it possible that virus damaged my ovaries? What else specifically can I do to naturally increase my AMH/ward off early menopause? Have you heard of ovarian PRP injections being successful?   Lara: Hi, dr. Cabral.. I've been tracking my sleep with Oura and lately I've been trying to go to bed earlier than my whole life.. Since starting to learn from you I can no longer keep shutting my eyes that sleeping earlier is important for health.. but the thing is that I get 90+ minutes of deep sleep when I go to sleep at 2am or later on off days and whenever I manage to go earlier (around midnight is where I'm currently at), I don't get enough deep sleep! Even less than an hour sometimes! Could it be that my body is used to my rhythm (hormones?) so it's difficult for me to get into the deep sleep phase earlier than it's used to? We tend to eat a lot of them in the evening with dinner (or after dinner), is that a bad time to eat a lot of olives?How many would you recommend, considering we do put olive oil or pumpkin seed oil on our plate as well? Is dinner not the right meal to eat olives considering there's fat? &food combining with olives? In one of your handouts they're in the PROTEIN section, so they shouldn't be combined with fats and carbs..? Hoping you can expand on the topic. In episode 2487, you touch on the subject of drinking mushroom coffee while pregnant. You don't recommend it because mushrooms are immune modulators. Why do immune modulators Negatively impact pregnancy? Also, is it safe to drink mushroom coffee while trying to get pregnant? My mushroom coffee contains lions mane, chaga & reishi. Thank you!!   Diane: Hi Dr. Cabral I’ve been listening to your podcast since 2018. It has definitely been a positive influence on my life. I have a question about TSH test. I’m 66 years old female. Both test were taking while fasting. I did a finger-stick at 4:30 AM and then I did a blood draw at 8:30 AM, both were done in about a three week span. The fingerstick said my TSH was five the blood drawn said my TSH was 2.42. I did not get my T4 T3. Can you explain why the huge difference. With the blood drawn be more accurate thanks. Diane   Justin: I have struggled with candida since I was 25 I'm not 41 I have been checked by a doctor and she just put me on dyfucan it killed them like your said in podcast but they came back my sugar cravings are mainly at night. I got sleep apnea at 36 I know have type 2 diabetes from I believe my diet and my stress. Dr. Muwwakkil provides Tui Na CEU's to massage therapist. He is the author of four books and provided lecture, seminars, and workshop national and international, (University of the Bermuda, Columbia University and University of the District of Columba). In the mid 70's, he studied acupuncture with Dr. Yun Chin and herbal therapies, Tai Chi, and Qigong with Master Heg Robinson and Master Fred McShin. His bodywork skill began in the 80's, when he attended the International School of Shiatsu and the Potomac Massage Training Institute for western massage. In 1992, Dr. Muwwakkil completed a Tui Na Traditional Chinese Medical Bodywork Apprenticeship Training Course with Dr. Yao Xian Quian and in 2000 traveled to China where he studied Tui Na at the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
