What if the stillness we crave isn't peace, but shutdown? In this episode, we explore the quiet spaces we mistake for healing and the music that finally speaks the truth we've been holding in. Inspired by the haunting swell of Disturbed's cover of “The Sound of Silence,” this story opens with a moment of misrecognition: assuming silence meant safety, when in reality, it was where all the unsaid things were hiding.I'm joined by Jamie Lammers, a genre-blurring artist who makes synth-forward music that doesn't just sound good it feels honest. Their work is part electronic atmosphere, part emotional confession. It's the kind of music that invites you to stop pretending and finally feel something. We talk about:* The difference between emotional stillness and emotional numbness* How music helps us tell the truth when words won't cooperate* The quiet power of making space for hard feelings* Learning to recognize what we've buried and gently bringing it back to the surfaceIf you've ever held your breath through hard things… if you've ever worn silence like armor… if you've ever needed a song to say what you couldn't—this conversation is for you.Connect with Jamie Lammers HERECould you say hello on Instagram?Theme music by: Lincoln ParishComment on the episode HEREWe also make Dads Cry Too and What's Your Story? Some songs don't just get stuck in your head—they set up camp in your chest. In this episode, we're joined by South African pop artist Charlie Void, whose high-gloss sound and emotionally raw lyrics are redefining what queer pop can be. From the dancefloor to the depths of emotional survival, Charlie shares how music became both an escape and a mirror—how it held them through moments of heartbreak, identity struggle, and creative rebirth. We talk about:* The pressure to perform happiness (and what happens when you stop)* How music like Sia's “Chandelier” helped shape Charlie's emotional honesty* Turning personal chaos into connection—and catchy choruses* The relationship between queerness, visibility, and vulnerability in pop* The liberation of making music that's as glittery as it is guttingWhether you've danced through your own breakdown or found healing in a song you couldn't stop repeating, this one's for you.Charlie doesn't just make bangers—they make you feel. The Truth About Reptilians I've Kept Secret For 18 years. For 50,000 years, a story has been unfolding—a story that shaped governments, families, religions, and royalty. But it's not the story you've been told. In this explosive episode of The Story of Creation, The Creator reveals the true origins of reptilian existence on Earth, their intention, and why it was never about harming us—it was about exploration. They didn't come to destroy humanity. They came to experiment with control and manipulation. And what they discovered became the blueprint for the systems we live under today. Royalty, separation, worth hierarchies—all seeded by a single family line designed to test the boundaries of control. The Creator allowed it. Not because we are weak, but because we are infinitely powerful. We just forgot. And in that forgetting, we became programmable. But now the veil is lifting, and truth is re-emerging. The illusion of powerlessness is unraveling. You'll learn: • Why the reptilian agenda was rooted in curiosity, not cruelty • How manipulation became mistaken for divine order • The role of royalty in modern global control • Why The Creator never intervened—and why that's a gift, not a punishment • How to stop feeding the illusion and start building a reality rooted in self-respect and soul remembrance This isn't about anger. It's about awareness. Your emotions are valid, but your truth is more powerful. Evolution is the path forward—not judgment, not vengeance. 2025 is the year of respect—but not just respect for others. It starts with self-recognition. And that's where true freedom begins. The Story of Creation is Your Story. If you enjoyed this episode like, follow and share with those you feel are ready for this level of conscious awareness. What's Your Story?Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”The Lord is my strength and my shield. This is something that I am not sure we always realize. I think most of the time, we know that the Lord is our strength. Or, at least we know that we can ask Him for strength and He will give it to us. I think when we think of the Lord, we most often think of Him as our strength vs. our shield. But, did you know that He is your shield as well. This is the part of the job that probably goes most unseen and most unrecognized. If we are weak and God gives us strength, we can usually tell. We are usually aware that He is helping us. But, what about the times when He shields us from things that we didn't even know about? This is when we don't know how to thank Him because we didn't even know that He did anything. I think about this when I get stuck in traffic or hit a red light when I am running late. I wonder what God is protecting me from. I wonder what would have happened if I had left 5 minutes earlier that day. I'm not saying that every time you get stuck in traffic, God is shielding you from something, but sometimes He might be. Have you ever had a morning when no matter what you did, you could not leave the house on time? Have you ever had a series of strange things happen that caused you to switch up your routine? These could be times when God is shielding you from something. The next time that you have an experience where everything seems to be going wrong and you don't know why, try thanking God for it. I know that may sound weird, but you will be surprised how much better you feel. Having a day or even just part of a day when everything is going wrong is very frustrating. We can get into a really bad mood, dwelling on the fact that nothing is going right for us. Our mood can start to spiral downward quickly. However, if you view this terrible start to the day as a gift from God, your mood will change. Instead of thinking that everything is going wrong and the world is conspiring against you, you can thank God for protecting you from something worse happening. You probably will never know whether God was protecting you from something or not. However, the mindset change will be great. Most of the time, our mindset is based on our view of things. There is a saying that we view things not as they are, but as we are. This means that we view everything through our own lens. This lens is made up of our past experiences. Everything that you have been through up until this point is what makes up how you view the world. Two people with different experiences in life can go through the same experience and yet view it very differently. My husband and I often encounter that. We have different views on life and different experiences. We can both be experiencing something at the same time, and yet we feel very differently towards it. For instance, we can both be in the same car, stuck in traffic. He can be angry and frustrated, and I can be happy and grateful, same situation, different mindset. Also, we can both be sitting at the same football game, and he can be happy and cheerful, and I can be bored and frustrated. What we are feeling in any given situation is based on the thoughts that we are telling ourselves about that situation. I am not sure what you think of all of this. Maybe it makes sense to you, and maybe it doesn't. I know when I learned about it, I was slow to believe it. However, the more I read about it, the more it made sense. Also, the more I read, the more I paid attention to my feelings and my thoughts. I played around with my thoughts and observed whether they affected my feelings or not. How about you give it a try and see what you think. Think about a circumstance where you recently got upset. Think about why you were upset. What were the thoughts in your head when you were upset? Can you remember the story you were telling yourself? Let's use the example of traffic for me to try to explain what I would like you to do. I would think about the last time I was upset. It would be when I was stuck in traffic. I was upset because I was going to be late for work. The thoughts in my head were: I should have left earlier. I shouldn't have taken that extra-long shower. My boss is going to be so mad at me. How stupid I am for leaving late for work. I might get fired for being late. I think you can get the gist of my thoughts. The story I was telling myself was that I was wrong for taking a long shower, and now I was going to lose my job. Can you tell how this story was driving my feelings? Can you see how these thoughts would inevitably lead to upset feelings? Now, what about if I changed my thoughts? What if, when I saw traffic, I told myself a different story? What if I told myself that this was the perfect time to get caught up on that podcast I loved? What if I told myself that the traffic was a small price to pay for the happiness that a longer shower brought me? What if I reminded myself that I am always on time to work and that being late one day is not the end of the world? I could change my story to one where I give myself grace for being late and enjoying a longer shower. Do you think this story and these thoughts would make me feel differently towards the traffic? What about your situation that made you upset recently? Can you change those thoughts and that story to feel better about it? The thing about the stories we tell ourselves is that we make them up, and we have control over them. Most of the time, these stories are not something we are consciously thinking about. Our stories tend to default to whatever we are used to thinking or what our past experiences have taught us about a certain circumstance. However, when you become aware that your stories are controlling your emotions, then you can pay attention and consciously choose to change your stories. It is not easy, but it is so great when you are able to do this. One reason knowing this is so powerful is that a lot of times, we can't change our circumstances. When you are stuck in traffic, you can't change that. Most of the time, you can't do anything about the traffic except wait it out. Your attitude and emotions while you wait it out can make all the difference in the world. If you had a choice, would you rather wait in traffic, be upset, or be happy? Would you rather spend the time thinking about how much you hate traffic or how much you love the song on the radio? Once you realize that your emotions are a choice, a whole new life opens up to you. One where you are in charge of your emotions instead of your emotions being in charge of you. It is an awesome feeling!!I was not intending to talk about this when I started writing this episode. I thought this episode was going to be about Joy, which I love talking about. However, it's funny what happens when you let the Holy Spirit take over. I will address the second half of this verse in tomorrow's episode. For today, take some time and think about your emotions, the story you are telling yourself, and how you can change that story to one that better serves you.Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless everyone listening to this episode today. I ask that you fill us with love today. We ask that you help us to recognize the stories we are telling ourselves that are unhelpful and not serving us. Lord, we ask that you help us replace those stories with better stories. We ask that you help us change our mindset and outlook on life. Help us to see the ways in which you are our strength and our shield. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the million ways that you protect us every single day that we don't even know about. Lord, we know that you are amazing, and we're so very thankful for all that you do for us. Your Story, His Glory #RTTBROS #Nightlight Your Story, His Glory: The Tale That Calls Your Tribe"Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul." Psalm 66:16 (KJV)The psalmist understood something profound that many of us forget: our personal encounters with God aren't meant to be kept as private treasures. They're meant to be declared, shared, and proclaimed. When we tell our tale, our unique chapter in God's magnificent story, something beautiful happens. We attract our tribe.Your story matters because it carries the fingerprints of the Almighty. Every valley you've walked through, every mountain you've climbed, every moment of breakthrough and every season of waiting, these aren't random events. They're carefully orchestrated scenes in the grand narrative of God's glory being revealed through ordinary people like you and me.Some worry that sharing their story might sound prideful or self-centered. But here's the truth: when God is the hero of your story, there's no room for pride. When you tell of His faithfulness in your darkest hour, His provision when resources were scarce, or His peace that surpassed understanding in chaos, you're not elevating yourself, you're magnifying Him.Your tale attracts your tribe because authenticity resonates. When you share how God showed up in your specific circumstances, you give others permission to believe He'll show up in theirs. Your struggle with infertility speaks to the woman who's been trying for years. Your story of financial breakthrough encourages the family facing foreclosure. Your testimony of healing gives hope to someone in a hospital bed.God never intended for His children to walk alone. He designed us for community, for connection, for tribes that understand our language because they've walked similar paths. When you courageously share your piece of His glory story, you send out a signal that draws the right people, those who need to hear exactly what you've experienced, and those whose stories will strengthen your own faith.Your testimony isn't about you being the hero; it's about showcasing the Hero who never fails. It's about putting His goodness on display through the canvas of your life. Every scar tells of His healing power. Every victory points to His faithfulness. Every redeemed mistake demonstrates His grace.Don't let fear silence your story. Don't let false humility rob others of the encouragement your testimony could bring. God has written beautiful chapters through your life, chapters that are uniquely yours but universally powerful because they reveal His unchanging character.Tell your tale. Watch your tribe gather. And remember, it was always part of His plan.Prayer: Father, give me boldness to share my story, knowing that You are the hero of every chapter. Help me see my experiences through Your eyes and use my testimony to draw others into Your loving embrace. May my tale always point to Your glory. Amen.Be sure to Like, Share, Follow and subscribe it helps get the word out.https://linktr.ee/rttbros
The restaurant industry is at a crossroads, with two powerful forces shaping its future. On one hand, there's the explosive growth of AI and automation, a major topic at the recent National Restaurant Association Show. On the other, there's the timeless need for genuine human connection. This episode explores both.First, D.J. considers the impact of AI on restaurant operations. Then, he dives into a conversation with Shawn Walchef, the founder of Cali BBQ and Cali BBQ Media, who champions the power of storytelling as a restaurant's ultimate competitive advantage. Shawn provides a practical guide for using the phone in your pocket to build a community, create a loyal following, and drive business. This episode is an essential listen for any operator looking to balance the efficiencies of new technology with the irreplaceable magic of a well-told story.Key Takeaways:Balancing Tech and Touch: While AI is poised to revolutionize restaurant operations, it cannot replace the genuine connection that comes from authentic brand storytelling.Your Story is Your Most Valuable Asset: In an increasingly automated world, the unique story of your people, your food, and your passion is what sets you apart. The Smartphone is Your Studio: You don't need a massive budget or a marketing team to start building your brand online; the tools are already in your pocket.Action Creates Momentum: The most important step is the first one. Start creating content, even if it's imperfect, to begin building your digital presence.Digital Hospitality: The modern guest experience is a blend of in-person service and digital engagement. Your online presence is an extension of your restaurant's four walls.Resources:Cali BBQ Media on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CaliBBQMediaShawn Walchef on Instagram: @shawnpwalchefShawn Walchef on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/shawnwalchef/Send us a text

Joining Zac and Ashley on this week's episode of “Jesuitical” is Jamie Baxter, Founder & CEO of Exodus 90. The program, which helps men to strengthen their faith through prayer, asceticism and fraternity, faced some early skepticism from the Church—and the Jesuitical team—that led to valuable innovation. Zac, Ashley and Jamie discuss: Jamie's conversion story, going to seminary and ultimately discerning out How the idea for Exodus 90 originated and the challenge of being an entrepreneur in the Catholic Church What asceticism can teach men about life, sacrifice, community and finding God Healthy (and unhealthy) “Catholic masculinity” and men's spiritual formation BE PART OF THE FIRST-EVER JESUITICAL RETREAT!
