It's summer, which means it's time to go swimming!This episode features three places you can go to cool off.1) Negro Bar - $10 to get in with a car (not mentioned in the episode). GPS coordinates: 38° 39' 28.106" N and 121° 11' 33.938" W2) Clark's hole - 1.4 mile (out and back) hike under Foresthill Bridge to a still pool in the river. Take the Lake Clementine Trail and use these GPS coordinates for parking : N38-55-010; W121-02-207 ($10). Or take the new shuttle ($3.50 for a round-trip ticket) 3) Hoyt's Crossing - ($10 /parking)- directions to trailhead (courtesy of bylt.org) From the north end of Nevada City where Highway 49 turns west toward Downieville, go 6.9 miles on Highway 49 north. As you near the river you will see a sign on your right that says “South Yuba River Access”. Just 0.1 mile past the sign, and before crossing the highway bridge, turn right down a short drive into a paved parking lot (N39 17.833 W121 05.351). There are hundreds of kids in need in the Sacramento area. While food and shelter are of the utmost importance, they are often in need of clothing as well. The Underground provides a place for these students and their families to receive free, stylish clothing through their shop in the Sunrise Mall. Sophia, a senior at Casa Roble High School walks us through how it works.Like most charity organizations, this one functions only with support from the community. If you would like to donate clothing or time you can drop by Wednesdays from 11am-4pm or Saturdays from 11am-3pm.
