Host Guy Duplantier sits down with Draya Grangroth, hunter, guide, author, and entrepreneur. The two discuss Draya's autobiography Whats Her Wild and why she decided to tell her story, healing yourself on the mountain and making a conscious effort to improve. Enjoy the episode. You can find Draya at the links below: https://www.instagram.com/whats_your_wild/ https://www.whatsyourwild.net https://www.amazon.com/Whats-Her-Wild-Untold-Story/dp/1665306882 Saunter through the life stages of Andraya Grangroth as she shares the healing powers of Mother Nature. This book is an inspirational memoir of an insecure girl healing into an independent woman, leaping past the multiple forms of childhood trauma to become an accomplished writer, author, small business owner, and western-hunting guide. Growing up in a sheltered and strict household, this trauma was never addressed or brought to light. Her appreciation for the natural environment has held strong throughout her life, starting with the safe feeling of ferns in the dense Washington forest. This deep appreciation as a young child led to the realization of the healing powers of wild places, along with the growth that comes with these wild places. Hunting rugged and remote terrain will test each person's mental and physical fortitude, distorting the prior image of themselves. What's Her Wild: An Untold Story depicts the mental and physical challenges of western hunting. Grangroth eloquently writes the stories of overcoming these challenges, leading to the growth of confidence as well as the successful and wholesome life she now lives. She tells her story so she can make a difference in the lives of others with similar trauma. If you struggle with past trauma or lack the confidence to get into wild places, this book will change your thoughts and, most importantly, will change your attitude
This week, Nedra counsels a caller who is dealing with a family member that has a tendency towards racially insensitive comments. Breaking contact has helped, but the glaring unfair treatment and pressure to make amends from the rest of the family has made the situation much more difficult.
