Four more beers! We just can't get away from talking about tariffs. The ever changing topic that politicians are using to swing their johnsons around at each other. Well, it's really just one politician, but it's impacting everyone. And, it could impact your beer in a big way. On a lighter note we learn about the highest brewery in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Did you know the records thing was started by Guinness the brewery? Sir Hugh Beaver (seriously) got into a debate about the fastest game bird and commission a book for records and facts that eventually became the Guiness Book of World Records. They're no longer officiially connected, but they do have common heritage.Science! The scientists say hanxiety is a real thing. That anxiety you feel a day (or two) after having one too many. We've got the details on why.Canada is really taking a lot of heat in this political circus. Moosehead has a cure, at least a treatment, they created a Presidential Pack of 1,461 cans - one for each day of Trump's presidency. If you want to grab one you're out of luck, they sold out fast.Cheers! Thanks for listening to Beer Guys Radio! Attention ! Alerte ! [SEGMENT 1-1] Words and songs 1     Any words you mispronounced as a child. Pulla was pillow for me. My grandparents called ushers, “urshers”. I'm going to let you folks in on a secret…before every segment, a song pops in my head randomly, and it actually kind of guides my conversation. I consider these inspirations from God. It's so random, and covers all types of music, and it's not necessarily words. The reason why I thought of this, is the song Sing a Song by Earth Wind and Fire popped in my head, and I realized that I didn't know most of the lyrics. I just rhymed my way through much of the song. How many songs do you think you actually know the lyrics to? My wife knows the words to a GAZILLION songs. And boy does she love pointing it out when I'm mis-lyricking a song!   [SEGMENT 1-2] Words and songs 2   I looked it up. The most mispronounced words Cache, barometer, GIF, salmon, often, hyperbole, meme, epitome, colonel, mischievous (mischievous), says (says/sez) nuclear, cacophony, synonymous, eLECtoral, preSTIgious I know all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody, but I have no idea what they mean. I know the entire song to rapper's delight Remember when the only way you could get lyrics was to BUY THE ALBUM  [SEGMENT 1-3] Course correction 1 Are you watching the trends on various issues Trump ran on during the campaign. To put it mildly, we are winning on all of them. The most glaring to me, and there are many, is that the media has been dying a slow death. That death got accelerated by the Donald Trump devastation of Kamala Harris and the cabal to put her in place to face him. That same cabal put Biden in office in the 2020 coup, and were brazen enough to try it again. It should have been easier, since they technically had a better candidate—a low bar, to say the least. Up to the point of the 2024 election, the media barely hung on. But the precarious nature of their situation was easy to spot. The desperation by them to destroy Trump at all costs. Their efforts backfired in ways they never anticipated. MSNBC is in freefall, and up for sale. Rumors are that Musk might buy it, a prospect that should scare the heck out of Fox News. Consider how fast Twitter gets news, and then picture Musk revamping the entirety of news, given his knowledge of social media. Fox News would be out of business within 5 years. Even more shocking is the rumor that MSNBC forced Rachel Maddow to take a $5M per year pay cut. To understand how badly Democrats must make us believe they are relevant, they are willing to pay a hack like Maddow $30 million per year (now $25m) to pretend that she is relevant. But I doubt you find that shocking when you consider what they paid to try to make Kamala Harris appear relevant. More on that in a bit. Post-election, one can actually witness Democrats in their death throes. Yet, the lapdog media still continue to propagandize when they know their lies no longer work. With every effort they make to fake people out, MAGA chalks up more wins, and exposes the dirty underbelly of Leftism. Take President Trump's 91 indictments and 34 “convictions”, for example. The “felon” strategy was a useful as a bat in a tennis match, yet recently Adam “Russian collusion” Schiff is throwing hissy fits, because he realizes the futility of trying to paint President Trump as a felon. Trump cases are being postponed, but only to limit the damage for when they are eventually tossed. I'm no fortune-teller in predicting that every case against Trump will be dropped. Regardless, if I were Trump, I wouldn't let a single case go on a technicality. I'd make the prosecutors defend their nonsense, as I exposed their dirt and them, one by one. Now that Trump has control of government, he has the receipts to prove the conspiracy against them. And as Trump wins case by case, the Left will die 91 painful deaths. Bragg has NO credibility, nor does Jacks Smith, Fani Willis, or Tish James. They've all been exposed as tools of the cabal. And they've all lost their cases in the court of public opinion currently, so all that's left is to actually lose them in court. Sadly, as I've written they may still choose to target Trump to their own demise. In what I consider another trend to watch, Trump exposed more of the cabal and the Uniparty by sacrificing Matt Gaetz. Unlike Trump's first administration, the Trump team will know upfront who the backstabbers are. Trump will get loyalists in place, and replacing Gaetz will likely be Pam Bondi. She is an excellent choice, and Democrats have already started attacking her. She will hold Leftists responsible. As for their destruction of Gaetz, Democrats created a mortal enemy. A crusader. Because Matt Gaetz isn't gone. He vows to expose the insider trading of the Democrats. And who knows what else he will expose with the help of a genuine DOJ.  [SEGMENT 1-4] Course correction 2   [X] SB – Bragg case to get tossed Leftists are claiming that Trump ESCAPED justice, since 34 cases are going to be tossed. Eventually 91 cases will be tossed. I think they will blow a gasket, if we ever learn the truth about Hunter Biden. I believe BOTH sides don't want us to know that a VP and ultimately a President sold America out.   But Trump's winning shows up in other trends like the fight against the LGBT movement. Trump made powerful statements about the Fed getting out of the LGBTQ+ business, particularly in the military. But he's also been very outspoken about this issue as it relates to DEI. If you're keeping score, have you seen the number of colleges fighting back on the trans issues, as it relates to women's sport? Almost daily at least one school declares that its all-women team will not compete against teams with transsexual men. Consider all the work the LGBTQ+ put in getting Americans to accept trans people as mainstream. These people have an obvious psychological problem, many of whom are born with gender dysphoria. And of course there are the plain Leftist freaks, Sam Brinton comes to mind, who do their freak shows for attention. And finally, there are children exposed to traumatic situations who don't understand all the nuances of gender and thus grow up to be freaks. However, a person got there, the LGBTQ+ lobby pushed too far, fighting for men to dominate women. So now Republicans have abortion-age women, athletes mostly striking back against Leftism. What a war that has been, as abortion takes a back seat to womanhood.   Nancy Mace raised the question on Capitol Hill when a freak Congressman, trans man wanted to use the women's restroom. Surprise Conservatives. We are discussing a social issue, and we are winning. If this keeps up, Leftists will lose abortion as their “go to” for young women. Consider the ramifications of Democrats losing yet another voting bloc on which they've relied so heavily. This subject doesn't trend well for Democrats in the 2026 midterms. But it won't just be young women who defect from Democrats over DEI. How many companies have back away from or rid themselves of the cancer of DEI. Lowe's, Harley Davidson, Caterpillar, and many more have chosen to rid themselves of the “woke” cancer. Those who continue down this dead end will suffer the consequences. Case in point, Jaguar. They learned recently that “woke” is so last decade. The man who implemented “woke” at Jaguar will be gone in less than a year. It's a big mistake when Jaguar tries to become Subaru. Yet another trend that's not looking good for the Democrats, particularly when we consider where Harris left them financially and otherwise. In the wake of the 2024 election thrashing, Democrats are calling for the scalp of Pelosi. Many blame her for the massive 2024 election losses. Despite the problems Pelosi presents, losing her would be a major blow to the Democrats. Hakeem Jeffries is LINO: Leader in Name Only, and not capable of filling Pelosi's shoed. Jeffries is an Affirmative Action figurehead, built by Pelosi. And while Pelosi deserves some blame for the direction of Democrats, so does Jeffries. This duo has Democrats are begging donors to help pay for all the stars Harris enriched during her campaign. And if you don't think Democrats have problems with fundraising, just wait. ActBlue won't be able to funnel nearly as much illegal money to the Democrats now that the election is over.  Further, as I wrote recently, don't expect Oprah, Barack, or many other notable Leftists to dig deep to help Harris or the party. They got their money, and they aren't giving it back. Without Jeffries and donors to save them, perhaps Democrats can rely on the old guard: The View. This panel of shrews had the distinction of making the Guiness Book for the number of legal disclaimers in a 24-hour period. Two notices that fast signals a trend: Leftists' legal departments are being put on notice that their lies will no longer be tolerated. And speaking of being put on notice, take a look at what may be the nation's first notable perp walk in Pennsylvania. A Bucks County election official apologized publicly about trying to steal an election. Frankly, I don't care about her apology. America needs to see these cheats go to prison, and this case would be a good one for President Trump to show he means business. Cheat and face the consequences. For me, election integrity must be implemented nationwide over the next 4 years. Because Democrats won't quit cheating unless there are dire consequences. Probably second only to the election integrity is the border. On the border trend, you don't need to read many tweets to see that Trump's new border czar is the real deal, and he's confident in the 70%+ of the nation who want our border protected. Trump has accomplished more in a few weeks as president-elect that Biden Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-kevin-jackson-show--2896352/support.

It's Tuesday, April 30th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson TikTok bans around the globe TikTok bans are spreading. India banned the app in 2020. Nepal did so last November as well as Afghanistan and Iran among others. As of last week, the U.S. government moved to ban TikTok within a year unless the app is sold. America has the most TikTok users of any country in the world — estimated to be between 135 and 170 million users.  Trump beating Biden in polls – especially with third party candidates CNN is reporting that Donald Trump is well ahead in the 2024 presidential race. The news agency's recent poll puts the former president ahead 49%-43%.  When third party candidates -- like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., People's Party Cornel West, and Libertarian Dr. Jill Stein -- are put into the mix, Trump is ahead 42% to 33%.  Kennedy is at 16%, West is at 4%, and Stein is at 3%. The same CNN poll found that only 39% of voters see the Biden presidency as a success, while 55% consider the previous Trump presidency a success. American taxpayers send billions to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan Another $61 billion has been assigned in the recent U.S. spending bill for the Ukrainian war against Russia. Thus far, the U.S. has underwritten $72 billion in Ukrainian aid. In addition, the European Union has spent about $107 billion on the war over the last two years. That accounts for about 30 times Ukraine's annual military budget. Israel is also slated to receive $14 billion of the package — a sizable increase from the average of $4 billion per year given to Israel over the last 20 years. Israel's military budget has averaged around $23 billion per year.   The $95 billion foreign aid package, signed by President Biden last week, represents a sizable increase from the $45 billion of foreign aid handed out in 2020. The package is intended to support American allies of Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel against Russia, China, and Hamas. Taylor Swift's new album: explicit, blasphemous, and anti-Christian In pop culture news, Taylor Swift's Tortured Poet's Department album made almost a billion album streams last week, breaking all previous records. That included almost two million vinyl, cassettes, and CD sales. Adele still holds the top spot for most records sold in one week. However, six out of the top fifteen album sales of all time belong to Taylor Swift. The Christian Post notes that 11 of the 31 songs contain an "E" under the album's description listing, which stands for "explicit." Shane Pruitt, the Southern Baptist Next Gen director, was upset that Swift mocks God and Christians. He asked, "As Christians, who are filled with the Spirit, should we be entertained by, sing with, and expose our kids to lyrics that aren't just different than what you believe, but are actually mocking what you believe?" Southern Baptist pastors more conservative than laity There is a major disconnect between Southern Baptist pastors and the laity. That's the conclusion of a Lifeway survey conducted earlier this year.   In fact, 62% of key leaders believe America has become a secular nation, but only 11% of the laity hold that position. In addition, 80% of the leaders surveyed consider themselves conservative, while only 56% of the church attendees would claim the label. And seven times the percentage of the laity would call themselves liberal, as compared to the Southern Baptist pastors.  Catholic and Mainline Protestant pastors more liberal than laity By contrast, research has found that Catholics and mainline Protestant denominations show an opposite trend. For example, 49% of Catholic laity voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 elections, while only 24% of Catholic clergy voted for the Republican candidate. About the same ratios applied to mainline Protestants. Plummeting U.S. fertility rate America's fertility rate fell once more in 2023. It's now well below the replacement rate at 1.62 children per woman in this country, according to the Centers for Disease Control.  That's the lowest level in U.S. history. Not surprisingly, states with slightly higher birth rates are Republican — North Dakota, Nebraska, Louisiana, Utah, and Texas. Lowest birth rates occur in Democrat-controlled states, reports LifeSiteNews.com. We are warned in Deuteronomy 28:15, 18-19 -- “But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all His commandments and His statutes. … Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.” Guiness World Record-setting pastor for serving 74 years A pastor who held the Guiness Book of World Records for pastoring in the same church the longest has died at 94 years of age.   Since the year 1950, Pastor D.N. Benford Sr. served almost 74 years at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church in Texas City, Texas. Chuck Norris honors his 103-year-old mother And finally, actor and martial arts expert Chuck Norris shared a tribute to his 103-year-old mother this week on WorldNetDaily.com.   She raised three boys as a single mom, and prayed for Chuck his whole life — especially that he wouldn't lose his soul to Hollywood. Wilma Norris Knights' best advice to her son and the rest of us is: “Don't be surprised by fiery trials.  Don't worry. Trust God.  Live within your means.  And seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.”  That's Matthew 6:33.

Partners Chris Macguire and Steve Wright Jr. have been friends since they were six years old, and both have a deep love of two things: Gaming and ice cream. In fact, Chris' love of ice cream was so well-known that he received two ice cream makers as a wedding gift. A gift that he and his wife began experimenting in ice cream-making at home. Some time later, Chris' trials and errors yielded braggable versions that others could enjoy too. So when he wanted to change careers and had accrued a good amount of savings, it made sense to combine the two passions. So now, we can enjoy playing classic video games while enjoying every last spoonful of the frozen treats at Tubby Robot in Manayunk. The well-known, iconic, Old-City Philadelphia-based Panorama Wine Bar has been delighting visitors for years. Since their opening in 1990, the focus on Italian cuisine and wine has won them awards, and even a place in the Guiness Book of World Records. So, we are more than happy to speak with Panorama's Executive Chef, Anthony DiSabato. Anthony, who grew up and began working inside the kitchens of South Philadelphia joined us to talk with co-host Gene Blum about the love of Italian culture, wine, and what Chef DiSabato's personal touches to the menu options at Panorama Wine Bar! Chef Joseph Burton and his wife, Amanda Ngangana, both worked in the hospitality industry, with Chef Burton formerly working at Foreman Wolfe's Johnny's Downstairs, and Giada De Laurentiis' GDL Italian. And after traveling to Bastille, France, they wanted to bring French cuisine to their hometown. So, when the couple decided to open their restaurant, they both had a clear idea as to what the focus would be: Rustic French cuisine. However, the pandemic delayed their ability to open and they considered opening a food truck; fortunately they found a spot that they loved and persistence and perseverance prevailed and the couple opened Rooted Rotisserie in Baltimore, MD.

The biggest, the fastest, the longest of anything intrigues us. Many aspire to have their feats, no matter how trivial, immortalized in The Guiness Book of World the Records. The record of “Most Murders by a Serial Killer” is no exception. And that honor goes to Sam McDowell Little. Starting in 1971 and continuing for 20 years, the FBI confirmed Little's involvement in at least 63 of the 93 confessed murders - the largest number of confirmed victims for any serial killer in United States history.  My guest today is Jillian Lauren, author and journalist, who entered a modern version of the movie “Silence of the Lambs” to BEHOLD THE MONSTER. Come along with me as she tells her unique story of gathering confessions and details of scores of unsolved murders from the mouth of the monster himself.

Telemann makes the record

Synopsis In the Guiness Book of Music Facts and Feats, the record for "Most Prolific Composer" goes to Georg Philip Telemann, who died on today's date in 1767 at the age of 86. And longevity gave an edge to productivity: Telemann outlived his prolific contemporary, J.S. Bach, by 21 years, and outlived Handel by 12. But even considering the extra years he lived, Telemann's output is staggering. Of Bach's cantatas, some 200 or so survive, but Telemann's number 1400. He also wrote 125 orchestral suites, 125 concertos, 130 trios, 145 pieces for solo keyboard, and about 50 operas. Most composers (if they are lucky), publish one autobiography; Telemann published three, and commented in one of them, "How is it possible for me to remember everything I wrote for violin and winds?" Sometimes, in addition to composing original music, Telemann was also asked to perform it: "A few days before I play a violin concerto," he wrote, "I always locked myself away, fiddle in hand, shirt-sleeves rolled up, with something strong to calm the nerves, and practice." Fortunately, Telemann seemed to find musical inspiration everywhere, including from the pop and folk music of his day. As he put it, "One would scarcely believe what wonderful ideas pipers and fiddlers have when they improvise while dancers pause for breath. An observer could easily gather enough ideas from them in eight days to last a lifetime!" Music Played in Today's Program Georg Philipp Telemann (1681 - 1767) Violin Concerto in A (The Frog) Pavlo Beznosiuk, violin; New London Consort; Philip Pickett, conductor. London 455 621 On This Day Births 1860 - French composer Gustave Charpentier, in Dieuze, Lorraine; 1935 - Austrian composer Kurt Schwertsik, in Vienna; Deaths 1767 - German composer Georg Philipp Telemann, age 86, in Hamburg; 1822 - German composer, critic and popular Romantic author Ernst Theodor Amadeus ("E.T.A.") Hoffmann, age 46, in Berlin; Premieres 1840 - For the 400th anniversary of the Gutenberg Printing Press, Mendelssohn presents his Symphony No. 2, "Lobegesang" (Song of Praise) at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig; 1850 - R. Schumann: opera "Genoveva," in Leipzig at the Stadttheater; 1910 - Stravinsky: ballet, "The Firebird," at the Paris Opera, with Gabriel Pierné conducting; 1923 - de Falla: one-act opera "El retablo de maese Pedro" (Master Peter's Puppet Show), first staged performance in Paris at the home of the Princesse de Polignac; This opera was premiered in a concert performance in Seville on March 23, 1923; 1940 - William Grant Still: choral ballad "And They Lynched Him on a Tree," at New York's Lewisohn Stadium by the Schola Cantorum and Wen Talbert Negro Choir with the New York Philharmonic, Arthur Rodzinksi conducting; 1954 - Leroy Anderson: "Sandpaper Baller" at a Decca recording session in New York City, with the composer conducting; Three different grades of sandpaper rubbed together were used to make the vaudeville-style "soft shoe" dancing sound effects for this classic recording; 1955 - Grofé: "Hudson Valley" Suite, in Washington, D.C., by the National Symphony conducted by André Kostelanetz; 1991 - James MacMillan: "Tuireadh" (Lament) for clarinet and string quartet, by James Campbell and the Allegri Quartet at St. Magnus Cathedral in Kirkwall (Orkney Islands). The Salem High School Class of 1944 have set a Guinness World Record for the longest running reunion. As first reported by the Statesman Journal, Trudie Meier Gavette and Gayle Priem have taken over the organization of the now annual high school class reunions. The first event was the 10-year reunion in 1954. But after their 75th a few years ago, alumni decided they should hold the events annually. Last year, they decided to look into the Guiness Book of World Records for longest running reunion. Gayle's daughter, Shannon Priem, took the lead on submitting the documents and getting witness statements and other requirements. The news of the world record will be celebrated June 17 at the 79th reunion on the Willamette Sternwheeler in Salem. Gayle and Shannon Priem join us along with Trudie Meier Gavette to talk about the recognition and what the tradition means to them.
