The Cities of Galt and Isleton are co-represented by a single council member currently from the City of Galt, with the City of Isleton serving as the alternate. The Library Director serves as the Authority's chief executive officer and as secretary of the governing board.

I had a chance to sit down with Lisa, a woman I knew when we were littles in Citrus Heights, California, where it was freakin' HOT! (I just returned from there; I'm still hot.) She's a forensic toxicologist.Lisa became inspired by forensics shows on TV to pursue the field. You're gonna learn about fruit DNA and some "information" about horses I will let you discover.She references this movie on Netflix, How to Fix a Drug Scandal. (In the episode, we refer to it as How to Solve a Drug Problem. Oops).If you want to read about the guy who robbed me working at Blockbuster Video in 1995, I couldn't find the link to The Sacramento Bee, but his name was Michael Lee Monfort. He served some of his time at Folsom Prison, where I would eventually work for a bit. He died awhile ago but had he still been at Folsom Prison when I was hired, he would have been transferred.The Golden State Killer was caught in 2018 using DNA technology thanks to genealogy websites. The world of Christian music mourns the loss of renowned artist and ex-'American Idol' contestant, Mandisa, who passed away at 47. She was found in her home located in the metropolitan area of Nashville where she resided. Known to the world as Mandisa Lynn Hundley, this gifted singer was originally from Citrus Heights, California. As of now, no specific details regarding the cause of her untimely death are available, as stated by her representative. In the midst of sorrow and loss, prayers and thoughts for her immediate family and close friends are requested. While offering no in-depth information on the circumstances of her passing, the Franklin Police Department spokesman did confirm the ongoing investigation into Mandisa's unfortunate demise. Mandisa wore many hats, but she is primarily remembered for her remarkable talent exhibited on the singing reality show 'American Idol.' Her journey began with an audition in the city of Chicago back in 2005, an episode that would mark the start of her illustrious career. Roger has also worked on many projects throughout California including chemical treatments, habitat restorations, aquatic sampling, genetic sampling, research, fishing regulations, public outreach, and many others.  Roger is a passionate angler and has been flyfishing since 1976. He has travelled the world in pursuit of wild fish and is currently working part-time at fly Fishing Specialities in Citrus Heights, Ca. There's an awesome little six-lane bowling alley tucked into the heart of the Mission. In this episode, we get to know Molly Bradshaw, owner of Mission Bowling Club. Molly traces her steps from coastal Mendocino to Citrus Heights when she was in second grade. She spent the rest of her youth in the Sacramento area, eventually going to punk shows in Sacto and at Gilman in Berkeley. Molly's grandparents came to California in the Great Migration to work in Richmond. Some of her ancestors lived in Berkeley, some in East Oakland, and Molly would spend summers in the East Bay. After high school, she wanted to go to college and be independent. She lived in what was then known as Squaw Valley (now Palisades Tahoe) for a summer, went to grad school from 1997 to 1999 in Seattle, then moved back to the Bay and started bartending. Around 2007/2008, Molly opened Mini Bar with some friends. In Part 1, she speaks fondly of Divisadero and its history. She and her fellow owners of Mini Bar did lots of community outreach before opening, and we think the fact that the bar continues to be a popular meeting spot 15 years later speaks to those efforts. More than 5 million Californians use the state program CalFresh to pay for their groceries. But come April, CalFresh users will see a drop of at least $95 each month with the end of CalFresh's pandemic fund program. Recipients of these funds report that the extra money gave them the cushion to stop choosing from between going hungry and paying bills. Indeed, according to the Public Policy Institute of California, over 1.1 million Californians were kept out of poverty in 2021 because of these pandemic benefits. Now that they are coming to an end, participants in the program and advocates worry about how people will cope. We'll talk about what the change in CalFresh funding means for hunger and poverty in the state and where to find additional food support and benefits.
