    Ivy Insights

The DnD RAW Actual Play podcast is truly a wonder to behold. From the very beginning, I have been captivated by this podcast and its incredible world-building, soundtrack, and engaging storylines. The original Orinthal episodes serve as a great introduction adventure, with a perfect mix of combat and intriguing lore. The subsequent Sharpened Quill and Rumble Squad arcs build off the intrigue and combat aspects even more, providing an immersive experience for both players and dungeon masters of all skill levels. The Rules episodes also offer valuable advice and debates for both novice and veteran DMs. The cast does an exceptional job of creating captivating characters through their backstories and excellent acting skills. Overall, this podcast is definitely worth a listen and provides a fantastic escape into another world.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is its intricate and well-thought-out storyline. The way it combines the backstories of all the player characters is truly impressive, creating a cohesive narrative that keeps listeners hooked from episode to episode. The focus on role play, character growth, and mystery adds depth to the story, while the humor and drama provide a perfect balance. Additionally, the attention to detail in the backstories of characters like Belinda, Akiva, Scriv, and Nissa adds richness to their development throughout the campaign.

Another standout aspect of this podcast is the excellent role play from the cast members. Each player brings their character to life through their acting skills, making them relatable and captivating for listeners. Whether it's Rachel's jokes, Bethany's play style, or Nissa's creativity, each member contributes something unique to the overall dynamic of the group. Additionally, Tony's organization as Dungeon Master helps keep the game flowing smoothly.

While there are many positive aspects to this podcast, one potential downside could be its non-DnD content. Some listeners may not be as interested in content outside of Dungeons & Dragons gameplay, but even in these moments, the podcast maintains its precision and fun. However, this is a minor concern compared to the overall quality of the podcast.

In conclusion, The DnD RAW Actual Play podcast is truly a great listen. With its impressive world-building, engaging storylines, and captivating characters, it offers an escape into another world that will keep you coming back for more. Whether you are a seasoned player or new to Dungeons & Dragons, this podcast has something to offer everyone. I highly recommend giving it a try and experiencing the wonderful storytelling and role play for yourself.

Stay tuned for after the episode for the epilogue for each of the characters as they discuss what they would like to do following the events of the campaign. Welcome to Orinthal Redux! We are re-releasing our original short series, Orinthal, with new editing and music. Three years ago, we started our podcast with this actual play with no idea of where it would lead. Taking place over a hundred years before our current actual play adventures, our characters in Orinthal looked for clues and hunted for a secret foe who instigated devious plots within the city.  For those who have listened to the original release, we hope you will enjoy this fresh take on the story. Starting from when our heroes meet, our editor Adam has cleaned up the audio and we have added music to enhance the mystery and action. If you want to hear the original character introductions, those are still available on our podcast feed. You can also read our character backstories on our website. This is it, the final confrontation with Ralayan as the party fights this undead aberration and helps to decide the fate of Orinthal!
