Ever had that moment when you realize your party has been talking to the same "new guy" for weeks... but no one can remember his name? Welcome to the world of the False Hydra, the D&D monster that gaslights your characters harder than a reality TV producer. Join the RPGBOT crew as they peel back the layers of this memory-munching menace and ask the big questions: how did we miss this thing, and is it too late to blame the bard? Show Notes In this episode of the RPGBOT.Podcast, we unravel the mystery of the False Hydra, a terrifying and unforgettable (ironically) monster from the world of Dungeons & Dragons. Known for its eerie ability to manipulate memory and perception, the False Hydra is a favorite among Dungeon Masters looking to inject psychological horror into their campaigns. The hosts discuss how to introduce the False Hydra into your tabletop RPG campaign, explore the creature's disturbing lore, and offer practical tips for roleplaying terrifying monsters. They share advice on how to design suspenseful encounters, how to pace scenes using the False Hydra's memory-altering abilities, and how to keep your players on their toes without losing them entirely to existential dread. Whether you're building a mystery-laden campaign or just looking for fresh monsters to terrify your adventurers, this episode is packed with insights on how the False Hydra can reshape your game world, and possibly your players' trust in NPCs forever. Key Takeaways The False Hydra is a monster that alters player character memories, making it an ideal choice for mystery-themed RPG campaigns. It uniquely blends psychological horror with traditional Dungeons & Dragons encounters. Roleplaying the False Hydra well involves pacing, dramatic reveals, and managing player paranoia. The creature is a powerful tool for Dungeon Masters who want to explore unconventional storytelling structures. Adding monsters like the False Hydra can create a compelling shift in tone, altering how players interact with the game world. Tips include using background music, shifting NPC behaviors, and introducing new "facts" mid-session to keep the players guessing. Greetings and salutations, noble travelers! Gather ye close and lend thine ears. Lord Bender doth regale us with tales of his grand Spelljammer campaign and the valorous exploits of his gallant Giff sailor. Thereafter, we entertain inquiries from our loyal listeners pondering such matters as what Dungeon Masters desire most from their adventurers, whether our hearts favor the grand houses of mass-market tomes or the humble artistry of indie works, and how much tomfoolery may be endured before patience wears thin. Enjoy the merriment of the hour!

In this episode of the Revenue Builders Podcast, our hosts John Kaplan and John McMahon dive deep into the world of Sales Kickoff (SKO) events. They discuss the critical importance of aligning SKO content with sales rep needs, emphasizing that it should be more than just an event—it should be a holistic process aimed at motivating and educating the sales force. The conversation covers the significance of training, the role of tools and AI in sales, and the pivotal role of frontline managers in driving sales team performance. They also share practical advice on crafting effective compensation plans and highlight the essential skills and knowledge that sales reps need for success. Send us a textI can still remember the first time I stood in front of a classroom filled with my peers. I had spent the time researching and learning, writing and organizing, and now it was time to teach. A dozen of my co-workers, people that I spent hours with, ate lunches with, and worked with every day. But this was something different. Standing in front of the classroom. All eyes on me, the looks on their faces were somewhere between anticipation and boredom. I could almost see their thoughts, “Why do I have to be here?” “Why should I listen to this guy?” “This is going to suck.”I remember telling myself, It's no different than running a game, Steve. Grab their attention, make your point, and give them what they came for.I've been doing that now for over 25 years.I wasn't born a good communicator. I stuttered as a child, and because of that I was not outgoing in the classroom. I rarely asked questions and would damn near run away screaming when it came to making any kind of public statement. But when I would sit down and roleplay with my friends, that changed. It was like I was a different person. I was able to communicate and I wasn't scared. I actually enjoyed it. Soon I would become the forever game master and that just meant more practice. Because that was what it was, practice.I know for a fact if I didn't roleplay I wouldn't be a national instructor today. That class with 12 people in 1999 was only the beginning. I have done 2-hour presentations to auditoriums with over 1200 people. All of those hours of gaming and communicating gave me the skills and confidence I needed for my future. We can learn a lot from roleplaying.Last time, Mike and I talked about the Satanic Panic and all the things the haters said was wrong with roleplaying so today, Mike, Dr. Christina and I are going to talk about all of the good things you get by table top roleplaying.Let's start with you Mike, What's one thing that you can do today because of roleplaying?[Kick to Mike]Christina, you literally got your doctorate in this stuff so when we talk about the things we can learn from table top roleplaying, where should we start?[Kick to Christina]

Welcome Ye Gods of War! After a long and silent campaign upon the ashes of hiatus, the Filthy Casuals return to the field to speak of sacred miniatures and the art of battle! Jamie discusses his grand campaign of WWII miniatures, Mike confesses his love of G.I. Joe, and together they revel in the primal glory of painting apes wielding instruments of death. But soon, the vox crackles with the true call to arms - Adeptus Titanicus! AC reveals the saga of his three-year endeavor, Bender delivers the lore-rites of the God-Engines, and together we debate the might, majesty, and madness of this massively complex, ruinously expensive, and gloriously indulgent game of Titan warfare. For the Machine God, for the Omnissiah, - the Filthy Casuals march once more!
