Tip of the Day: Death doesn't make you a martyr, life does. Today we take a look at the Renee Good situation. We infuse empathy, which means, we're going to irritate all the listeners with this one. One thing is certain, Becca Good has as much responsibility in the loss of life as anyone on the scene. She made the situation much more hostile than was necessary and it, undoubtedly put everyone on edge more. At the end of the day, cases can be made that Renee was a good person but we can't deny that she did not handle this situation well. We also have to acknowledge the same thing about the officer who shot her. He may be a good person but he did not handle the situation perfectly either. Tip of the day: Empathy is the key and empathy isn't boundaryless In this episode we turn back the clock. We spent a lot of time putting together episodes in the past that emphasize empathy and because of the recent Oval Office interaction between President Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, we thought it was time to bring it back for today. Hatred is still the wrong answer and if you can't see that, you're the problem.  Watching or listening to this episode will break down ways to balance empathy and boundaries while remaining in REALITY. If we did this well, you will be irritated by what we say. Empathy creates discomfort in a lot of situations. Things like Trump's arrogance have to be acknowledged. Zelenskyy's blindness also has to be acknowledged. These are statements of judgment. They are facts that contribute to the picture of empathy.
