1/20 - Debut of "Korzo on Sunday Mornings!"
The first weekend since the Stay at Home order, talking all the ways in which we are keeping ourselves occupied. Television continues to be the best distraction from it all, what we're watching and plan on watching. How long until we go back to some semblance of normal, and what does that look like? And a little bit of Vikings talk.
Lots of COVID-19 discussion, trying to look at the situation as realistically and rationally as we can. Why it's impossible to not politicize this issue. A Vikings update because they are making plenty of moves right now worth talking, or at least griping about. And why it's time to pay the price for Kirk Cousins.
It's hard to stick to just sports when there are no sports to talk about. The world isn't ending but we have to be realistic and honest about what is going on with COVID-19. Rick Pitino is employed again, and why he rightfully always should've been and Happy Birthday to Sid Hartman who turns 100 today.
Korzo is indifferent as we approach the abyss, but he's not cynical. The Timberwolves are still terrible but it's fun to hope for the future, and all the reasons why we still hate Jimmy Butler. How much is the right amount to pay our NFL players? And speaking of pay days, Tony Romo is all set. The Gophers MBB lost in embarrassing fashion against Maryland, so what do we do with Pitno?
Scott Korzenowski urges you to take a break from sports. Between the Wild unloading to the Timberwolves resting players. Also, plenty of talk on the Miracle on Ice, and the Astros scandal.
Scott Korzenowski has a lot to be disappointed in with Minnesota sports teams lately. Between the Wild loss to the Rangers and the Sharks and the firing of head coach, Bruce Boudreau to lack of leadership within the Timberwolves. And snowflakes just in general, everyone needs to relax and focus on what's important.
Korzo is coming down from the sugar high that was the Timberwolves victory over the Clippers. The first game since trading Wiggins for Russell, who didn't play, but that's neither here nor there. Why it's a liberating feeling to be free from Wiggins contract and attitude; the trade was more about who they got rid of then who they acquired. Either way, it's exciting to watch a team that is interested in not just scoring, but winning.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is on this Groundhog Day, Super Bowl Sunday. The importance of not doing things over and over again, expecting different results. A little history lesson on the two franchises and where they've been. It's time to go quarterback hunting, to find the one we need. Gersson Rosa's plan to be a modern basketball team and why that's built around KAT. You have to trust the plan. And the legacy that Kobe leaves behind, is even bigger than him.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski talks about the 1972 Minnesota vs Ohio State Men's Basketball fight in the wake of the Kansas vs Kansas brawl that broke out at the recent game. We have Kurt Steinberg, who was there in 72' and gives his recounting of the incident. And some Timberwolves talk to round it off.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is in the mood to talk Vikings ahead of the Packers/49'ers game. Why Kirk Cousins will never be the modern quarterback that we need, and why it's the Vikings' time. Some college football discussion, and reasons why Lamar Jackson is the best.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is in after that pretty upsetting Vikings loss to the 49'ers. It's a matter of not playing well on grass and the defense having to work over time. Playing Pro & Anti Kirk. The Vikes may be predictable but they are aware of their strengths and weaknesses, like being the ViKings of playoff losses. Overall, it's been a rough year for star quarterbacks.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is in ahead of the Vikings playoff game against the Saints. But first we have to talk the Patriots, and their loss to the Titans. This may be the beginning of the end of the dynasty, but what an incredible, dominating run it has been. The amazing Gopher win in the Outback Bowl against Auburn. How Perception is everything and Korzo's PJ Fleck theory. What does the future holds for the Vikings and the coaching staff? Dealing with their 'quarterback problem' would probably be helpful in the long term.
Vikings/Packers border battle, the Timberwolves 10 game losing streak, a fist fight with a Charles Manson look alike, & much more as Korzo fills in for Sunday Sermons! Not to mention, Tom Linnemann gives his weekly NFL picks, & Spencer Tollackson joins the show to talk Gophers basketball.
The FAN’s Scott Korzenowski is in before the Vikings v Chargers pregame. Talking Tiger and the President’s cup. The emotional win of the Heisman Trophy by LSU’s, Joe Burrow. Pat Micheletti joins to talk the loss of Gopher Hockey coach, Doug Woog. Former Johnnie, Tom Linnemann, calls in from LA to talk some football. Twins fans are all up in arms over the lack of signings, and Spencer Tollackson calls in to talk Minnesota sports.
A very hoarse and in mourning Scott Korzenowski is in to talk the Gopher loss to the Badgers yesterday. Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic calls in to talk the piece he wrote on the fandom that brought us all together this season. The beauty and magic of tail gating, and the celebration of football. Tom Linnemann calls in. Coach Fleck’s big moment and what the future holds for him. The Star Tribune’s lover of college football, Chip Scoggins calls in. It’s important game for the Vikings tomorrow night. And the Start Tribune’s, Andrew Krammer calls in, fresh off a plane in Seattle.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is appearing as himself, on his own show this time. The Northwestern game was a nail biter for him, as they all are, but we achieved relevance in the Big 10 West, and that was huge. They sure didn't like losing in Iowa and they came back strong because of it. Why the Wisconsin game is different than the Penn one, and how recruitment is crucial to this success. In Vikings talk, when Kirk is comfortable, hes great! And what Fleck is doing better than Pittino.
It's a special edition of Korzo On Sunday Mornings! Korzo shares his experience at the Gophers-Penn State game, welcomes some special guests from the tailgate lots and callers react to the big victory!
The FAN's Scott Korzo Korzenowski is in for Dan Barreiro this morning on Sermons. It's Vikes vs Chiefs today. Korzo has a theory on turf vs grass and how it affects the Vikings game play. The NHL could learn a thing or two from Big 10 hockey in how they do scoring. The loss of College Gameday, we have a few possible reasons why. The last, best season for the Gophers, was in 1960. What the future holds for Fleck. The New Wolves: Something positive about Wiggy, for once, and the brewing feud, on and off the court, between KAT and Embiid. College athletes, their likeness and the ability to cash in on it, even though it would be saving the NCAA money, they’re still dragging their feet. Korzo’s solution for the officiating problem: stop trying to be perfect. And how no Mahomes playing for the Chiefs again, is good news for the Vikes.
The FAN’s Scott Korzenowski is very happy with this Gophers team and season, that he didn’t know he would live to see. At worst, we’re probably going to the Rose Bowl, where Korzo can die a happy sports fan. The Gopher games and the coaches that you can’t forget from over the years. Contributor Ron Johnson calls in. It’s very important what PJ Fleck is building here. Karl Anthony Towns and Kirk Cousins are most elite players in this state. Emphasizing Towns as one of their star players is one of the best decisions the Wolves have made at this point, but what will the cost be for still featuring Wiggins on that level? Cousins is a great player no doubt, but being a QB is more than that, and he has really failed us when the pressure is on.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is in for Dan on this edition of Sunday Sermons. Another Gopher win is reason enough to be happy, PJ Fleck is really hitting his stride in his third year as head coach, and he's really turning the team into a class act. A little Gopher-Husker history lesson. The Twins the third best team in the league, and there's no shame in that. Sometimes you carry the baggage of past teams and seasons with you. Who will it be today for the Vikings v Eagles game, good Kirk or bad Kirk?
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is filling in for Dan Barreiro on Sunday Sermons. Wouldn't it be nice to have Cousins play like a top 10 QB? But that's what a professional quarterback costs. Life after Casey Keenum. The Gopher win against Purdue. Mike Leach and his team of softies. And Tom Linnemann, joins for some NFL talk.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski is in for JG on this Gopher Football Sunday. What an incredible and surprising win against Fresno last night. All the highlights and a post game interview with head coach PJ Fleck.
The FAN's Scott Korzenowski, joined by on site producer Ryan Donaldson, is live from the Minnesota State Fair. Lots of Vikings and NFL talk, The Star Tribune's, Chip Scoggins and Korzo favorite, Tom Linneman call in.
