Indiana football is entering a new era, and CrimsonCast digs into what that means for IU football fans, Memorial Stadium traditions, the Ohio State matchup, and the growing number of Hoosiers in the NFL.Grace Ybarra and Galen Clavio open with Indiana weather, fall camp energy, Homefield drops, and a few concert detours before returning to listener questions from the CrimsonCast community. They revisit potential names for the emerging Indiana-Ohio State football series, including the 36-Star Showdown, Harrison-Grant ideas, Old Guard vs. New Blood, and other rivalry-branding possibilities. From there, the show moves into the evolving Indiana football gameday experience: tailgate timing, getting fans into Memorial Stadium earlier, whether air horns or alerts could help, why “Hurts So Good” works, how IU can better celebrate Hoosiers in the NFL, and what traditions could make Indiana's home-field atmosphere more distinctive. The episode also covers which former IU players to track on Sundays, how fans should think about drafting Hoosiers in fantasy football, and why the fan experience has to improve through both athletic department investment and fan buy-in.Subscribe to the Back Home Network for more CrimsonCast coverage of Indiana football, IU athletics, Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers, Big Ten football, and the 2026 college football season.

Soccer in den USA ist schnell erzählt. Zumindest scheinbar. Und was bedeutet ... Galen Clavio is joined by special guest Grace Ybarra to relive the unforgettable CFP National Championship weekend in Miami—the 48-hour blur of events, fan moments, stadium chaos, and the emotional whiplash of watching Indiana win it all. They walk through everything from the Homefield events (including the packed night at Mickey Burkes with Straight No Chaser) to the American Social gathering on game day, the tailgating scene outside Hard Rock Stadium, and what it was like inside the building as Indiana pulled off the championship win over Miami. Most importantly, this episode is about the feeling: what it's like to experience a once-in-a-lifetime sports moment alongside other Hoosiers, meet strangers who instantly become friends, and realize—slowly, then all at once—that Indiana football really became national champions.

Join Wheeler and Tyler as they navigate the beautiful chaos of morning life in Manitoba. This isn't your average buttoned-up morning show; it's a high-energy dive into the stories people are actually texting their friends about. Whether they are debating the merits of VLTs in local lounges, dissecting the latest "Dollarama Drama," or questioning why anyone would voluntarily ski uphill for a new Olympic sport, Wheeler and Tyler bring a mix of veteran "old man strength" and sharp, millennial wit. From the Winnipeg Jets' latest road trip to the Super Bowl halftime outfit controversies, no topic is too big—or too delightfully trivial—to escape their radar. @TylerCarrfm @Wheelerj28 @Energy106fm Tyler Carr on Tik Tok
The last few years have been a rollercoaster for wagon fans in the US and around the world - we've gained some and lost many more. But could the tides be changing? Tailgates opening to new beginnings? We dive into the origins of the station wagon to find out... === Visit http://JasonSentMe.com to get a Hagerty Guaranteed Value (TM) collector-car insurance quote! === Both fans of the station wagon, Jason and Derek discuss their personal origin stories with wagons. Jason's begins with a 1975 Chevrolet Impala Wagon that he grew up in the back of - which spurs a conversation around 1970s and 80s American station wagons from the GM clamshell tailgate, the Buick Estate Wagon and Roadmaster, to the rare Cadillac Castilian. Derek discusses growing up in the ‘90s (1890s, of course) - while his family cars were convertibles and sedans, the school run was enveloped in Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable wagons, Volvo 240 and 740, Mercedes 300TE and E320, E34 BMW 5 series, and Audi 5000 and 200 Avants. Exploring how many consider wagons to be uncool or frumpy, he explores the advent of new at the time SUV offerings starting in the same time period, like the Ford Explorer and Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. Jason and Derek then explore what has become of the wagon market and why- noting the recent departure of the Volvo V90 and V60. Many wagons have inflated greatly in cost, ending up under or over-contented due to lower demand and cost of federalization - a trend explored via the Acura TSX Wagon and Jaguar XF Sportbrake. The classification of wagons has also changed over the years, now grouping CUVs like the new Subaru Outback and Buick Envista that have no business being classified as a wagon. Favorite niche wagons are also discussed, like the Volkswagen Passat W8 4Motion 6 Speed, the euro-only Mercedes-Benz C43 AMG, and modified variants of BMW wagons like the E46 Touring with ZHP drivetrain. Keith Benjamin, co-founder of Uptown Hospitality Group in Charleston, tells the story of how throwing massive Penn State tailgates set him on a 20-year path from NYC bartender to operator of six concepts—while raising three kids under five. After buying small equity stakes in New York bars and becoming an operating partner at 29, he felt pulled to Charleston and went all-in on a $5M buildout of Uptown Social, a 10,000 sq. ft. sports bar and nightlife hub inside a 1915 building. He recalls surviving COVID—shutting down 48 hours after his wedding—then creating Bodega, a New York-style breakfast sandwich brand that grew from a parking-lot pop-up to multiple locations. Uptown Hospitality later added Share House, the upscale tavern By the Way (with partners from Southern Charm), and The Waverly, a wedding venue. Through rapid growth, thin margins, seasonality, and crushing liquor liability laws, Keith stays centered on preparation, service, and his belief that restaurants and bars are the emotional backbone of a community—and that operators carry that responsibility on their shoulders. 10 Takeaways Hospitality people “run into the fire.” You're either wired for the chaos and unpredictability of restaurant ownership or it will spit you out. Preparation beats the playbook. Every shift changes at minute one; the only constant is how ready your team is for the unexpected. Tailgates were the training ground. Running $40K-per-season Penn State tailgates taught Keith energy management, leadership, and crowd control. From golden handcuffs to ownership. High-earning NYC bartending could have trapped him, but he insisted on a path to management and equity. Charleston was the “chips all in” leap. With no collateral, Keith borrowed from friends and family to take on a 25-year lease and rebuild a 1915 building. COVID nearly crushed the dream—but sparked Bodega. Forced shutdowns led to launching a breakfast-sandwich concept that quickly exploded in popularity. Growth exposed growing pains. Opening multiple concepts while having three young kids humbled him and revealed how thin the margins can be. Food-heavy concepts are a different math. Booze-driven venues thrive; a full-service breakfast-and-lunch model did not, leading to a fast pivot to QSR. Liquor liability laws threaten the industry. South Carolina's rules once assigned 100% blame to anyone who served one drink to someone later in a wreck, pushing insurance premiums into the stratosphere. Service and community are the lasting moats. With heavy competition and rising closures, the only real differentiator is how you make people feel—because restaurants are the heart of every community.
On Sunday Chris and Steve went around to a number of your tailgates to see what you made
PROGRAM NOTE: An earlier version of this episode had incorrect information about online betting trends. We deleted that incorrect statistic from the episode. This week, the sisters are talking tailgates, touchdowns, and total chaos. Kathy shares her game-day adventures at Michigan State — TVs, portable bars, and all — and the unspoken rule of tailgating: never show up empty-handed. The conversation rolls into college football's NIL money boom and how the game's changing for today's student-athletes. Then it's What's for Dinner? — and things get messy when Kathy's homemade noodle project takes a turn for the worse (let's just say it ends with mold, not marinara). From football traditions to kitchen disasters, this one's a classic blend of sisterly laughter, learning, and life in midstream.
Big Rich, TD and Fletch dive into the age-old debate — who pays when friends grab lunch or dinner? Then, the crew preps San Diego for the rare sight of actual rain and lays out their dream plan to tailgate at a military demonstration on Camp Pendleton.

As a younger sibling to my mother, he grew up playing sports, coaching high school football, and eventually retiring as a teacher from the great state of Wisconsin. In today's episode we'll talk about everything from working at my grandfather's Dairy Queen, to attending Packers football games and tailgating at Lambeau Field, and essentially building their lakeside cabin upstate -- from the ground up.But we'll also talk about the infamous bar brawl in Colorado, the time he nearly lost his speaking voice for good, and how narrowly escaped his own death on two separate occasions. 0:00 - Cold Open / Intro (Lee Michaels)1:47 - Weather / Spring Training3:51 - Tall Kids / Wisconsin / Houdini5:39 - Hanson Family / Dairy Queen9:04 - Older Siblings / Beer Drinking in WI10:49 - Getting in Trouble with Parents15:10 - High School Sports / College Football20:47 - Coaching Football & Teaching Career24:32 - Army ROTC / Coaching Records31:15 - Meeting Wife Michelle / Jim & Julia33:29 - Building Cabin on Lake35:55 - Packers Football / Greatest QBs39:32 - Seahawks vs. Packers / Bears Rivalry43:16 - Packer Fans & Tailgating at Lambeau48:07 - Health Scare / Near Death Experiences55:11 - Greatest Action Movie / Fast Food56:32 - Music / Pineapple Pizza / Beer / Cereal58:49 - Infamous Colorado Bar Brawl 1:04:01 - Ted vs. Theo / Nicknames 1:05:35 - Babysitting The Boys / Dub & Audrey's Party1:06:50 - Family Cooking / Steak Dinner1:08:56 - Remembering Tom, Tim & Todd1:10:26 - Outro / CloseTHEO HANSON* University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh (1980-1983)* Player: Tight End, Defensive Tackle* Waupaca High School (1987-1990)* Coach: Varsity Football, Fosh Basketball, Head Track* Shawano High School (1991-1998)* Coach: Head Football Coach, High School Track, Frosh Basketball* Fort Atkinson High School (1999-2022)* Coach: Head Football Coach, High School Track, Middle School Basketball, Middle School Volleyball, Middle School Archery
