In this episode, we break down a politically charged State of the Union address that felt more like a pep rally than a unifying moment. We discuss the decision by many Democrats to boycott, the tone of the speech, and what civil responses from party leaders signal heading into the next phase of the election cycle. With Ohio's primary season approaching, we also look at how the state's political landscape could shape national momentum. The conversation shifts to sports, where the U.S. men's hockey team captures Olympic gold for the first time since 1980 — a milestone that instantly sparks comparisons to the “Miracle on Ice.” We talk about what this win means for the sport's popularity and how Olympic moments still unite audiences. From there, it's football and the NFL combine. We examine why the combine matters so much for teams like the Browns and Steelers, and how strategy, scouting, and roster needs all come into play.We also dive into a lighter debate: fast food burgers. A new ranking puts Jack in the Box at the bottom, criticized for being overly greasy with too much mayonnaise. FAN MAIL--We would love YOUR feedback--Send us a Text MessageA single game can change the national mood. From the Miracle on Ice to overtime golds and record-shattering routines, we unpack how sports moments break through cynicism, quiet the noise, and remind us we're still capable of feeling like one country. We talk about the power of unscripted drama, why visible excellence cuts across lines, and how simple stories—our team versus the world—reconnect neighbors who can't agree on anything else.We explore the deeper current beneath the highlights: patriotism as a virtue expressed without footnotes. When an athlete competes through pain or sticks a routine under crushing pressure, we see the virtues we want in ourselves—resilience, grit, grace under fire. That is why a flag on a jersey and an anthem on a podium can do what speeches can't. They create shared memories that become civic glue: the hushed bar before the roar, the group chat posting the same clip, the three letters typed in unison. Those memories don't fix policy fights, but they make it easier to face them together. We also reflect on Mike Tirico's eloquent Milan-Cortina sign-off—history, the next generation, and sport as a unifying voice—and look toward LA28, a rare home-stage chance to show what sports mean in America. The invitation is simple: appreciate greatness, cheer without cynicism, and carry the better mood into everyday life. If these moments help us practice being a we, then the real victory lasts longer than a medal ceremony. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs a spark of pride, and leave a review telling us the USA moment that gave you chills.Key Points from the Episode:• miracle on ice as mood shift and national reset• modern wins in women's and men's hockey, track, and gymnastics as unity sparks• why unscripted drama builds trust and belonging• excellence and merit as visible, unifying virtues• patriotism as humble pride without footnotes• shared memories as anchors for civic unity• Lincoln's mystic cords and the memory we build together• Mike Tirico's themes and the promise of LA28• closing challenge to cheer freely and carry the feeling forwardBe sure to check out our show page at teammojoacademy.com, where we have everything we discussed in this podcast as well as other great resourcesOther resources: Mike Tirico closing remarks as host of NBC Olympic coverage 2026, https://youtu.be/X3VmYnt_MRs?si=o37tOgxl1CuR2iZyWant to leave a review? This weekend, American hockey did something that hasn't happened in 46 years. The men's team won Olympic gold. Beat Canada 2-1 in overtime. First time since the Miracle on Ice. And so obviously we managed to ruin it because America's true national sport is tearing each other apart on social media.0:00 - Introduction3:44 - BRUNT5:13 - Sprained My Eyes16:37 - BON CHARGE17:40 - Weather18:08 - Parade of Morons24:50 - The Internet Is GloriousGet your Release The Files merch and Reality Remains Undefeated shirts HERE - https://bit.ly/bridgetphetasy-merch End Music - Sweetfire performed by Lightmaker Walk-Ins Welcome YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/@UC1pIdDAknFnlEVtJkTTV7QQ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to our sponsors BRUNT & BON CHARGE - BRUNT didn't just make a durable work boot—they reinvented comfort for the hardest workers out there. Two truths can coexist: headlines can drown out the soul of sport, and honest stories can still cut through the noise. We open with a candid look at how the Olympics should feel—earned pride, shared sacrifice, and a country pulling together—then spotlight the moments that actually delivered. Alysa Liu's gold, shaped by a father who fled repression for freedom. Team USA hockey honoring the Gaudreau brothers and lifting a grieving family onto the medal stage on the Miracle on Ice anniversary. The women's team claiming gold too. That's unity you can feel without a single talking point. From there we zoom into the trenches where most of us live: a small business sprint to Daytona Bike Week through a full-on blizzard. The bus won't roll, so a friend drops a near-new trailer and another brings a new truck for a predawn hookup. Customers snap up a new America 250 design—Stars, Stripes, and Straight Pipes—while a local sponsor covers fuel and partners fund the haul south. Meanwhile, checklists stack up: tires swapped, inventory pressed, flyers designed, codes set. Then the clock turns ruthless. A critical shipment slips from two-day air to five, the bank closes for weather, and the driveway must stay clear for a maybe-delivery. This is what resilience looks like off-camera.We connect the dots: greatness is never free. Athletes and entrepreneurs draw from the same well—discipline, community, and the choice to grow through hard things. Family bears the real cost: a wife juggling work, baby, and farm; a mother flexing her schedule; friends burning vacation days to chase a dream that isn't technically theirs and somehow absolutely is. That's what patriotism looks like when it's not a slogan—people making, carrying, and caring here at home. Ride with us for the goosebumps, the grit, and the reminder that pride means showing up when it's hardest. The U.S. wins their first gold medal in Men's hockey since the Miracle On Ice in 1980Exactly 46 years after the "Miracle on Ice" Lake Placid Games, the U.S. men's hockey team brought home another Olympic gold medal.Team USA defeated Canada 2-1 in overtime on Sunday to secure the third gold medal in American history at the Olympics.“I hope this will inspire kids to put this jersey on someday, as it's the best feeling in the world," Dylan Larkin said after the win. "What we just did, nothing will ever match this.”Matt Boldy got on the board for Team USA just six minutes into the game to give the United States an early lead.Canadian defenseman Cale Makar scored the equalizer with 1:44 left in second period to tie the game at one apiece going into the second intermission. But it was Connor Hellebuyck, who played out of his mind the entire game, who would prove to the deciding factor in the final. The Winnipeg Jets goalie put on a highlight-reel performance that will go down in hockey history. "It was an all-time performance from a superstar at his position," Matthew Tkachuk said. "It's going to go down as one of the best performances of all time. It has to. All the great United States goaltending performances you want to talk about, that's right up there. If we don't have him, we don't win.” Hellebuyck saved 41 shots in the game and made it virtually impossible for Canada to break through to the back of the net."It's a dream come true," Hellebuyck said after the game. "I love this group, we've had so much fun over here, we've grinded, we've battled, this is some of the best and most fun hockey I've ever played."See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this focused segment from Episode #1161 of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards celebrates American excellence on Testosterone Tuesday with Team USA Hockey's gold medal triumph over Canada—their first since the iconic 1980 Miracle on Ice. Clay spotlights the badassery of players like Jack Hughes, who posed with the gold medal in his mouth despite broken teeth (not from biting it, but hey, it's a great story for the grandkids). He shares the epic locker room vibes, including Kash Patel chugging beers, a congratulatory phone call from President Trump praising the team's performance, and an invite to the State of the Union address—complete with promises of medals and fun at the White House (women's team included, boss's orders). Clay plays clips of players like Matthew Tkachuk calling Trump the "ultimate president" for his support of all U.S. athletes, and Jack Hughes reflecting on leaving USA Hockey in a better place for future stars, proving he's no Democrat with his "leave it better than you found it" mindset. Though Clay admits he didn't watch a second of the Olympics—labeling them the "transgender LGBTQ rainbow supremacy Olympics"—he still roots for America, arguing nothing upsets the rainbow supremacists more than MAGA support. He revels in the liberal meltdowns, from media outrage over the Trump call and locker room patriotism to headlines like the Huffington Post questioning if the American flag turns people off. The women's team also snagged gold (though they're skipping the White House), and Clay notes the sweeter taste of victory amid the backlash. Tune in for Clay's pumped-up, unfiltered take on patriotic wins, liberal hypocrisy, and why this gold slays the "North Mexico" dragon!
In Episode #1161 of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards returns from a brief mental detox, energized and ready to dive into a packed discussion. Kicking things off with American excellence on Testosterone Tuesday, Clay celebrates Team USA Hockey's gold medal win over Canada—their first since the 1980 Miracle on Ice. He highlights the badassery of players like Jack Hughes, who sported a broken tooth while clinching victory, and the epic locker room call from President Trump, complete with an invite to the State of the Union. Clay revels in the liberal meltdowns over the patriotic vibes and shares clips of the team's hero's welcome. Shifting gears, Clay unleashes on California Governor Gavin Newsom's Atlanta speech, where Newsom code-switches to relate to a black audience by admitting his dyslexia and low SAT score, essentially implying shared struggles. Clay calls it out as condescending and plays clips of other Democrats' gaffes, including Joe Biden equating poor kids to white kids, Hillary Clinton's hot sauce pandering, and Governor Kathy Hochul claiming Bronx kids don't know what computers are. He argues these reveal the left's low expectations and double standards. Clay also touches on personal anecdotes, like his pet peeves with restaurant sides, a shoutout to retiring wrestler AJ Styles, and frustration with politics invading sports. Wrapping up, he critiques the GOP's cult-like push for school choice in Kentucky despite voter rejection, and drops boxing news: a broke Floyd Mayweather is set for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao on Netflix in September. Tune in for unfiltered takes on culture wars, patriotism, and hypocrisy—Clay holds nothing back!
Mike and Charlie celebrated the United States' victory in the Men's Hockey Gold Medal match against Canada. Grubb reviewed the Pelicans' up-and-down play post All-Star Break, criticizing the team's shooting issues.

Snowstorm delirium, travel exhaustion, and total studio chaos set the stage for a wild Cinco de Luncho as the crew debates the five greatest American sports victories of all time. From a dramatic overtime Olympic hockey triumph that ended a decades-long drought, to the unstoppable dominance of the 1992 Dream Team, to iconic moments that transcended sports entirely, the list sparks instant arguments. Did Hulk Hogan's title win count as a true sports moment? Where does the 1999 Women's World Cup rank in American history? And why the Miracle on Ice still stands alone as the ultimate underdog victory with global stakes. But the segment completely derails when a post-bar Venmo mishap becomes the real controversy. An overzealous attempt to cover the bill turns into a heated debate about tipping, snowstorm etiquette, and whether anyone should actually send money back. A classic Cinco packed with nostalgia, patriotic pride, sports history arguments, and laugh-out-loud dysfunction that only this crew can deliver.
