In the early morning of November 1st, reports started rolling in that Atlanta rapper, Takeoff was gunned down in Houston Tx. Takeoff was a member of the popular rap group Migos. After the confirmations started rolling in, it sparked yet another conversation about the influence of Hip Hop in the Black Community as well as Black on Black crime. Darrell Brooks was found guilty of 76 charges and 6 of those charges were first-degree homicide charges as 6 of the victims unfortunately passed from the incident. If the Jurors had any doubt about whether Darrell was guilty or not, I believe Darrell's closing argument sealed the deal. I watched the closing arguments live and I must say I was in shock at his self-reflection and presentation to the jury; him making the situation all about himself and how it's impacted his family, I do believe is the reason it didn't take the jury long to find him guilty of all counts. I was put on to HBO's Barry recently and I must say that I felt Season 1 was the best of the series so far. The longer I watched the less I liked the show. While I can give the writers kudos for trying to move outside of popular formulas for this genre, I feel HBO's Barry falls short in a lot of areas that makes a show great and enjoyable. I know that Netflix is still getting dragged for what is the foolery of their latest films 'Cuties' but they jumped back on my radar for another reason; that reason is their newly released documentary 'The Social Dilemma'.
