Howdy! Welcome to Spectrum Talk! A show where two Autistic friends talk about pretty much anything. We try to focus on Movies, TV, and Gaming, but anything is pretty much fair game! At least one new episode every week!
Surprise! We have new guests! Today's episode I'm joined by my new friends Emily, Ryan, and Guppy from Twitch. We ramble on through various topics about old movies, New Jersey, Texas, religion, life, and Cyberpunk! Give it a listen. It's sure to be a good time!Be sure to stop by their channels. You can find them here: twitch.tv/emilysteapot, twitch.tv/Sunset_Guppy, and twitch.tv/ryboy_ggm
Our first episode in over a year, and man did we have a lot to talk about. I didn't plan on the show going as long as it did, or going the way that it did, but it is what it is.We talk about true crimes, movies, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Yellow Jackets, Revival Tents, Amber Alerts, and more. This episode gets quite dark at times, for whatever reason. It's just the way the tangents carried us. Enjoy! Background music: 2 Hour Synthwave MIX - L.A. Better late than never. While in search of a new show to watch, I remember that I had missed out on True Detective, and Scarlett had never heard of it. That meant it was perfect for the show! I don't know how this conversation got started, but some way or another, Scars wouldn't stop talking about having sex with vampires. It then became my sole duty to record this conversation, and make sense of it. We also rant about Stephen King for a bit. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/spectrumtalk/support
So, this is an interesting one. After a long hiatus, I 'm back with my friend, Scarlett Valentine (They/Them), who tells us all about their harrowing life. The trigger warning isn't a joke. For much of this episode, pretty much every horrible thing you can think of is mentioned. This person has lived through a lot in their 20 years, and is sharing only a slice of it here. Thankfully, the second half of this episode isn't as trauma heavy. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/spectrumtalk/support
Things have been getting really tense over the last couple of months, as a series of bodies have been pulled out of Lady Bird Lake near Rainey Street. The spike in the frequency of the bodies showing up have many believing there is a serial killers lurking Rainey Street. For whatever reason, price differences tickled my brain again. Something about how much TV's used to cost back in the day compared to now, and well. You know what happened. Been a sec, but I'm back with some interesting findings. Did you know that the US gets hit with something worse than a nuke at least 10 times a year? It's true. 10 times a year, and still the world turns. Find out more in the episode! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/spectrumtalk/support
A little something different with this episode. Couldn't get the Texas Killing Fields off of my mind, so I decided to dip my toe a bit into the whole true crime thing. This is experimental, different, and not very good. I know that, but I figured I wanted to try something new. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/spectrumtalk/support
Finally, after much number crunching, I plotted in the 5th state of Texas, then figured out how it would change the political landscape of America. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/spectrumtalk/support
The idiotic Texas Secessionist movement has been getting attention again, and besides annoying me, it reminded me of an actual little known fact about the Lone Star State. While we have no right to secede from the Union, Texas does have the ability to split itself into 5 states at any point in time, an ability that no other state has. This was granted to us as part of our admission to the Union in 1845. I go over this fun oddity, and discuss how it would affect the United States if this were to happen. A lot of math was done, and a lot of headaches were suffered to figure all of this out, so I hope it was worth it. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/spectrumtalk/support
It's 13F outside, with a wind chill of -3F IN TEXAS! WHAT'S GOING ON!? Also, hi. I know I've been gone again, but a lot has happened, which is usually how my life goes. Good news is that I'm back with a new episode. Gonna try for at least one of these a month. Seems like a much more doable schedule.
