A viral video of a woman dumping trash on a NYC sidewalk to steal a Knicks themed trash can, is no longer employed with JP Morgan Chase. 40-year-old Angie Baez has been identified and is now being viciously mocked online after the video went viral on TikTok following the Knicks victory parade. Baez has since returned the trash can to the city, but should she have lost her job and her reputation over this incredibly poor and stupid decision to take home a souvenir? The lads talk about Solly's failed political campaign, the astonishing details about the woman who stole the stupid Knicks trash can, and why the WNBA remains the most un-serious of leagues. Also, Becky Hammon isn't wrong, she's just going to pretend that she isn't. Struggling with retention, churn, or adoption in your product, service, or program? Get the free Core Drives in the Wild guide and see how to apply real behavioral design to your engagement: professorgame.com/WildCD Episode Summary Alan Yeats, CEO of Pocket Sized Hands, a co-development game studio in Dundee, Scotland, explains why the best learning games start with play and add the curriculum second. He walks through real projects, a knife-crime prevention game stopped cold by school firewalls and a stem cell science game built with Cambridge University, to show how co-design keeps everyone pointed at the same goal. Alan argues that the job is to find the underlying play and the real "why" behind a request, not to cram years of lessons into one product. Listeners come away with a practical filter for any educational or engagement project: build a genuinely good game first, then weave the learning in so people actually engage. About the Host Rob Alvarez is Head of Engagement Strategy, Europe at The Octalysis Group (TOG), a leading gamification and behavioral design consultancy. A globally recognized gamification strategist and TEDx speaker, he founded and hosts Professor Game, the #1 gamification podcast, and has interviewed hundreds of global experts. He designs evidence-based engagement systems that drive motivation, loyalty, and results, and teaches LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® and gamification at top institutions including IE Business School, EFMD, and EBS University across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Key Takeaways Pocket Sized Hands built a polished Jackbox-style game to steer young people away from knife crime, then hit a wall when school IT firewalls blocked the phone-to-screen connection the experience ran on. The end user is never the only stakeholder a product has to satisfy. For Cambridge University, the studio corrected public misconceptions about stem cell science by running back-to-basics workshops to isolate the one message that mattered, rather than cramming an entire syllabus into a single game. Alan Yeats's rule for education clients who want to throw the whole textbook at a game: make it genuinely fun first, then layer the lessons in, because curriculum with no play earns no engagement to teach against. Co-design converts a client from someone who merely commissioned a product into an owner who evangelizes it, which is why Pocket Sized Hands opens projects with a workshop for facilitators and real users instead of a written spec. Pitching the visual register openly, from a corporate LinkedIn-style progress bar to a fully magical world, lets a team test how far it can push a client before the client pushes back with "that is too much fun." Every company promotes its best people into leadership, then sets them adrift with zero tools to actually lead. Tess Fyalka has spent 25 years cleaning up that mess. She's the founder of Angle Coaching & Communication, author of Walking the Leadership Ledge, and spent nearly a decade building leadership development infrastructure inside a mid-size commercial construction company before going independent. Two thousand ghostwritten articles and white papers later, she pulled the patterns into a book.In this conversation, Bill and Tess take on the promotion trap that quietly wrecks teams, the lie new leaders tell themselves to avoid hard conversations, and what it actually takes for a star individual contributor to become a real leader of people. Tess walks through "Betsy" — the kind of high-performer companies promote because they assume excellence is transferable, then watch flame out when the wheels come off the bus. She names the Big Lie directly: when a leader avoids a difficult conversation to "protect" their team member, they're really protecting themselves. And the cost of that avoidance compounds. They get into the inside-out nature of leadership development: you can't lead others well until you know your own values, your triggers, and what you're choosing to be in the role. Tess shares her BRRR framework for difficult conversations and why the imaginary scenarios in your head are almost never how the conversation actually plays out. Bill brings his own moments of getting it wrong, including the time he caught himself reflexively defending micromanagement. They close on the metaphor that gives the book its title: when you step into a new leadership role, you're standing on a ledge, and you don't know yet whether the drop is ten inches or ten thousand feet.In This Episode:Why the skills that earn a promotion actively work against you as a managerThe "Big Lie" ineffective leaders tell themselves to avoid hard conversations"Delengaging" — Tess's framework for delegating through genuine engagementThe Betsy problem: what happens when companies promote excellence and expect it to transferHow nearly a decade in commercial construction proved leadership development works anywhereWhy most delegation is really just dumping — and how to tell the differenceAbout the Book:Walking the Leadership Ledge: The "New" Leaders' Guide to Building Resilience and Confidence at Every Step. Concerns are growing in East Clare following another incident of illegal dumping in the Kilkishen area, where a large quantity of household waste was discovered—some of which appears to have been deliberately set on fire at the roadside. Kilkishen Tidy Towns has strongly condemned the incident, saying burning rubbish is “never the answer” and highlighting the environmental and community impact of illegal dumping. The issue comes amid wider calls across Clare for stronger enforcement, with discussions ongoing about the potential use of CCTV in known dumping blackspots. To discuss what happened in Kilkishen, the impact on the local community, and what more can be done to tackle illegal dumping, Alan Morrissey was joined by Olivia King of Kilkishen Tidy Towns and O'Callaghan's Mills Fine Gael Councillor Conor Ryan. The Department of Justice is trying to sell finality where there is still fog. After a chaotic rollout of Epstein-related materials, officials have framed the release as complete and urged the public to move on. But volume without structure is not transparency. Dumping massive amounts of material without clear indexing, consistent redaction explanations, and a verifiable accounting of what was withheld creates confusion rather than clarity. The public was promised a legally mandated framework under the Epstein Files Transparency Act that would identify categories of records, explain redactions, and specify which government officials and politically exposed persons were named. Instead, critics argue the process feels curated and defensive, more focused on narrative control than genuine accountability. Declaring “no more files” does not resolve outstanding questions about scope, missing categories, or investigative decisions—it freezes the narrative at a politically convenient moment. At its core, the frustration stems from a longstanding distrust of how powerful institutions handle cases involving powerful people. A serious transparency effort would provide traceability, context, independent review mechanisms, and precise legal justifications for every withholding decision. Without those guardrails, the release risks functioning as a containment strategy rather than a corrective one. Calls to “move on” land as dismissive because the underlying questions—who enabled Epstein, who benefited, and whether institutional actors were protected—remain unresolved in the public's mind. If the administration wants credibility, it must move beyond slogans and provide structured, auditable disclosures that withstand scrutiny. Otherwise, skepticism will continue, not because people crave drama, but because incomplete transparency invites suspicion.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Overthinking can be a real cause of anxiety for some people. Have you ever struggled to get to sleep at night with all the thoughts running through your head? Does my new boss like me? Am I even cut out for this job? My kid just brought home a bad report card; are they going through a rough patch, or is it a sign of something more serious? Basically, your mind goes into overdrive and you feel like there's nothing you can do about it. After all, thinking is natural, isn't it, so how are you supposed to just stop? Well if you've tried meditation and to-do-lists but found they just weren't of any use, here's a new approach that might help lighten your daily burdens: it's called brain dumping. Isn't that just like writing a journal? Does it really work though? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! People across the county are being encouraged to have their say on the proposal to install CCTV in an attempt to curb illegal dumping. The Local Authority's waste enforcement team is carrying out a public consultation until June 1st on the use of cameras in blackspots in Tulla and Kilrush. The system would initially be in place for eight weeks before a review period would determine it's continued use. Maghera Fianna Fáil Councillor, Pat Hayes, says it's been a 'torturous process' to get the relevant legislation enacted.
It's hoped the impending installation of CCTV in West Clare's capital will significantly eradicate illegal dumping. Clare County Council is carrying out a public consultation process until June 1st to determine where the cameras should go in Tulla and Kilrush. So far this year, the local authority has already dealt with over 210 illegal dumping and litter complaints. Kilrush Independent Councillor Ian Lynch has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that swift and decisive action is needed.
Did Jane Street front-run the Terra collapse? The firm then allegedly made $134 million shorting Terra. Jane Street denies the claims. What happens when society looks away from its most vulnerable? In this episode of Love Conquers Alz, hosts Susie Singer Carter and Don Priess welcome WGA, AWD, award-winning, neurodiverse, bi, writer/director, and podcaster, Ellen Ancui, who specializes in traumadies—darkly funny stories where (mostly) women dig their own graves, then complain about the landscaping. Ellen writes about caregiving, sex, and the 2nd act of a creative life. She co-hosts the pod FILTHY MILFS with Sophie Levine, about women's health, desire, and aging fearlessly. Ellen wrote, produced, and directed the Oscar-qualified short film, SAVERIO, that sheds light on a shocking and often invisible issue: elder abandonment, also known as “granny dumping.”Through a powerful blend of humor and humanity, Ellen's film tells the story of a young woman forced to confront her own values when an elderly man is abandoned in her care—an all-too-real scenario happening far more often than most people realize. This episode is both a wake-up call and a reminder of what's at stake if we continue to look away.Because aging is not someone else's story. It's all of ours. And change starts with awareness.Follow Ellen and her podcast✨ IMDB✨ Apple Podcasts✨ Spotify✨ InSend us Fan MailIf someone you love experienced neglect in a nursing home…Then you know how desperately the system needs to change. Master these 5 worldbuilding techniques to immerse readers in your fictional world without infodumping or overwhelming them.If you've ever sat down to write a scene and ended up with three paragraphs of explanation before anything actually happens, you're not alone. Most writers don't info dump because they're bad at worldbuilding—they do it because they love the world they've built and want readers to experience every detail of it. But here's the thing: too much explanation too soon is usually what breaks immersion, not what protects it.In this episode, I'm sharing 5 practical techniques for weaving worldbuilding into your story so readers experience your world naturally—without ever feeling like they're being taught about it. You'll learn how to tell which worldbuilding details have earned their place on the page, how to weave them into the scene instead of stopping the story to explain, how to adjust your approach based on whether your POV character is a native or a visitor to your world, and how to let the scene itself pull worldbuilding into the moment so it never feels forced. You'll hear me talk about things like:[02:30] How to tell whether a worldbuilding detail belongs on the page—or back in your notes.[04:27] How to weave worldbuilding into action, sensory detail, and interiority so it never stops the story cold.[08:08] Why the answer to "how much should I reveal?" is almost always less than you think, and later than you think.[10:04] The difference between a character who's new to your world and one who's lived there their whole life—and how each one changes what you can explain naturally.[12:40] How to use in-scene triggers so every worldbuilding detail feels pulled into the story instead of pushed in by the author. The world in your head is alive. It has texture, history, and weight. These five techniques will help you bring that onto the page so readers feel it too—without you having to stop the story to explain it.These techniques are hardest to apply when your story's foundation isn't solid yet. If that's the piece you've been missing, my Notes to Novel course is where to start. Click the link below to learn more and join the waitlist.
