A haunted attraction designed to scare visitors for fun has discovered it's not the only thing frightening people inside. The building — once a slaughterhouse and tobacco warehouse — carries a heavy, unnerving energy that refuses to be contained by props and paint. Staff members have long reported unusual phenomena. One worker repeatedly spots a six-foot-tall shadow figure standing motionless at the end of well-lit hallways — a black, featureless silhouette with a faint glimmer along its edges. The figure never rushes or flees, but slips sideways out of sight as if aware of being watched. Not all the activity feels sinister. There's also the presence of what seems like a child spirit — playful yet unsettling. It frequently pokes one employee's girlfriend on the shoulders and tugs at her sleeves, even moving her belongings when she isn't looking. Paranormal investigators warn that entities presenting themselves as children can sometimes be something darker in disguise. In this sermon, Pastor Chris Romig emphasizes the reality of the unseen spiritual realm and the active spiritual warfare Christians face, drawing from Revelation chapter 9. He warns that Satan seeks to undermine believers, especially during seasons of prayer and fasting, referencing Paul's teaching in Ephesians 6 that our true struggle is against spiritual forces of evil. Chris interprets the symbolic imagery of the fifth trumpet judgment, where Satan is given the key to the bottomless pit, releasing demons described as monstrous locusts. He explains that these are fallen angels, some of whom are imprisoned until the final judgment, and references both Old and New Testament passages to underscore that demons are real and active despite modern skepticism. While the unleashed demons bring terrible torment to those who reject God, Chris reminds the faithful that God remains sovereign, setting firm limits and protecting those marked as His own. He addresses the unsettling reality of God's judgment by underscoring the seriousness of sin and God's patient desire for everyone to come to repentance, as highlighted in 2 Peter 3:9. Ultimately, Chris calls his listeners to recognize the true consequences of rejecting God's grace, to repent, and to find hope in the promise, that despite the world's evil, God's triumph and love will prevail.
