Back in March we had the pleasure of playing at the institution that is Musicroom Melbourne. Such a beautiful space that felt like home as soon as you step inside. I thought it best to lay down an hour of Soulful House in the first half, followed by an hour or Italo, Hi NRG and 80's gems. It was a joy sharing this music with the very up for it crowd in this incredible space. Please enjoy

Club Bumpers returns! Part 2 of new semi regular mix series curated by me, Rubio. A further collection of Street Soul, RnB, Northern Soul, New Jack Swing, early Hip Hop and other downtempo bits of fun produced in the 80's and 90's. Good for your weekend afternoons, or cruising around the beaches in the sunshine with the top down, wind in your hair, chillin' on the stoop, you know... however you want to enjoy it ❤️‍

For the last party of 2024 we thought it fitting to see out the year with a BANG. A B3B to be remembered, @RabbitTaxi, @oncumyilmaz and Rubio at the dials from 4-midnight. Beginning the session in true Rabbit Taxi style we decided on an ode to the inimitable Smokers Lounge series, starting slow, eclectic and psychedelic.

Final set from our August Foray into Naarm's rooftop bars comes from the inimitable @personar1 b2b @magal_tm ❤️ Expect the lot as these two ride the waves of genres and seasons. The sky shifting before our eyes from the DJ booth of Rooftop Bar in typical Naarm fashion. It was light and airy, and dark and moody, a storm washed through for a spell, but the beats didn't stop, they simply evolved. Huge thank you to Per Sonar and Magál for stepping up to that plate and filling the space with sound. Please enjoy

To cap off our little trip down to Naarm in August, Myself and Cricket played a little b2b extendo set up at Rooftop Bar. It was a windy, rainy evening and we let the weather control the vibes. We threw down some power ballads, some deep groovers, and some minimal head nodders, some classic disco, some slinky UKG, you get the jist. It was a great time and I hope it comes across. Way back in January I had the opportunity to play an hour of tear out, Hi NRG Disco for a friends Studio 54 themed birthday party. It was right up there with my favourite sets I've played all year. Those that know me know I have a real soft spot for Big Powerful Disco numbers so it should come as no surprise that I absolutely milked the opportunity to go all in on that energy. DJ / producer / founder of agency Electronic Music Life @jameslocksmith got down with us at our WIP Music x Freedom Sessions collabo party back in July for a real treat of a set. The multi hyphenate delivered a gorgeous set on the licorice discs to a packed courtyard over the course of his one and a half hours. Ducking and weaving through sounds from across the globe, keeping everyone in the place locked into the groove and hanging on his every move. Back in July we joined forces with WIP Music & Freedom Sessions to throw a proper house event in the Gladdy Courtyard. The vibes were sky high all day into night and Cricket laid the foundation with these superb and eclectic opening selections. The funky brother from another mother @edavd got down with us for a groovy little evening back in May. The night was well and truly warmed which lent space to get a little more loose with the styles rolling through this set. Expect tech house, deep house, house house, bmore, booty bass, and more across the 2 hours. This set just roamed freely as I encourage you to in your listening

The super duper lovely @chloe-morgan-webster and @tombruce2 brought their inimitably good vibes through the Lord Gladstone back in May for Cosmic Boogie. It was a dreary old day, but these two party starters really brought the mood up with an excellent mix of classics, underground vibes, Australiana and pop hits. It was an absolute joy to witness, the smiles beaming off their faces as they ripped through their selections was enough to brighten your day. Now finally, I can share it with you. A few months ago @sabel-3 and I got down to play an all nighter at Cafe Freda's. It was a lovely time, sound, vibe, staff, food and drink were all on point. We'll be doing it again all night on the 16th of August. Come say G'day ❤️‍

The inimitable Brother Nature blessed us with his sounds to open the day on a rainy Saturday back in May. The vibes were warm and lovely as we've come to expect from the nature boy. Oi Oi, been a minute since the April party but I've finally gotten around to publishing this recording of the licorice pizza connoisseur @jnr-5 rinsing jungle and footwork for the closing 2 hours of that party! The vibes were outrageous! A huge thankyou to JNR for lending his skills to the evening, and an extra thank you to AT81 for the surprise b2b at the end of the set. This set was meant to be a b2b between myself and JNR but it unfortunately didn't work out that way. Fittingly, I will be playing at JNR's night at Chinese Laundry on the 3rd of August. Pots and Pans in abundance ❤

Big Ting member and all around Sydney badman 99 Nissan Patrol stopped by in April to grace us with a bunch of uptempo, vibey, breaks and bass music. This set was all time! Another one from the last Boog' this time from yours truly, throwing down a set of 90s hip house into bass music. This was a very considered set laying the foundation for breaks and bass lines early in the set. I had a great time playing it, I hope you enjoy listening to it! First mix off the press from the April event comes from the opening DJ Öncüm Yılmaz. Delivering on the promise of a beautifully executed all vinyl opening set, i knew the vibes were in safe hands as soon as the needle hit that first record. It was a lovely experience, blends of unexpected treasures graced the courtyard, the perfect backdrop to a sunny afternoon. Rounding out the recordings of last months Cosmic Boogie party, we have Cricket! Once again sending it for the solid 2 hours to close out the night. A vast and varied foray into 'the sounds that make us dance', Cricket blends and weaves through records and genres like water running down a mountain river. Always a good time

The one and only @EarnestJ rolled through the Boog' in March to show us how it's done. Laying down a scrumptious 2 hour journey of eclectic and vibrant wax selections. March 8th we got back to the Lord Gladstone courtyard for a lovely evening of tunes. This set was the opening set, recorded from 6-8pm, sun setting, quiet drinks, catch ups with friends, lots of smiles and cheer in the air at the end of the working week. I played this set with heavy influence from Osunlade and Ron Trent who I'd seen play the weekend before, mixed with some Australiana and spiritual messages about the state of humankind with everything going on in the world. On March 2nd, myself and Mark Cameron Jackson had the tremendous pleasure of playing a 7h set on the rooftop of the Burdekin Hotel on Sydney's Oxford st for their Mardi Gras viewing party. It was a great time! Spirits were high, vibes and drinks were flowing, big smiles all around. What a beautiful occasion and a gorgeous time it was. Last weekend we got back down to the familiar stomping grounds of the Lord Gladstone Courtyard for the first Cosmic Boogie of the new year. Sooo good to be back! Mr Roarke kindly graced us with 2 hours of GORGEOUS soulful house and disco to get us started. Throughout the recording you can expect beautiful blends, soothing rhythms and moments of energy perfectly distributed throughout the sound journey. Much respect to Mr Roarke for providing the vibes ❤

One night, 2 belated Birthdays, a decommissioned train tunnel, incredible production and a giant disco ball honestly made for one of the best parties I've been to in a long time. You may think me bias because I was Djing most of it but ask anyone who attended and they will tell you the same thing. Everything aligned perfectly for immaculate vibes the entire night. I was fortunate enough to be invited to contribute 4 hours of music for the night with my long term, very good friend @gilsun and the outcome was magical. Truly a new core memory. Unfortunately we were only able to salvage the last 1h45m of the set recording but it captures the high of the night perfectly. A huge thank you to Sandra and Pat for putting this incredible event on, it won't be forgotten any time soon!

Rubio (me) got down on June 3rd on duties to warm up to AHJU. Big eclectic tension building vibes throughout, slowly building the energy into a crescendo. This set was a real joy to play and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed playing it. Keep your eyes peeled for AHJU's set in the next week

6 Years ago my good friend Tom Studdy and myself did an all night b2b at the now defunkt Play Bar. It was a big big night with big big vibes. We're fortunate enough to have the great, the talented, the lovely, the Australian Institution that is Garage Pressure coming down to play for us on April 1st at Cosmic Boogie. To celebrate Farj has done a very special radio show for us from Eastside FM full of new and old incredible 4x4 UKG. It's a fabulous mix that includes a voiceover tracklist (for those playing along at home) and We can't wait to hear them do it live for us in the Lord Gladstone courtyard. Big up lads! Huge vibes! We've been away for a bit and we've missed you. Over the last few months since our soiree in January we've been asking ourselves, in which direction does this party shift. We've found an answer. In early September we were blessed to host Sofia Gonzalez for a 2h set in the main bar of The Lord Gladstone. It was a glorious ride through all the colours in the techno spectrum. Seamlessly rolling through sounds and textures, light and dark, dense and fluffy. It was a gorgeous set and we're thrilled to be able to share it with you here. Lachy MacNeill doesn't get out to play very often but when he does you really hope to be there. Ex full time Falcona DJ turned Buzz speaker hire facilitator is an absolute secret weapon and we're thrilled to have had him roll through to showcase his skills. We were truly privileged to have Bocconcini come down to play for us at our August session.
