I never thought 2 years of research would start to point me in this direction. Learning a language actually might be so easy that boredom is the main problem to overcome. In this episode, I'm going to talk about what is perhaps the most important thing when learning a language: time.I've studied Ukrainian for just under 180 hours, and while I'm not fluent, I can hold conversations. But getting that much study time in can be difficult. So, how can you study for 90 minutes (or more!) in a single day without getting tired?.I share four practical tricks that I personally used to hit my study goals:Using "mini breaks" for "mini study sessions" (yes, even while you're cooking or... otherwise occupied). How to stop "doom scrolling" and start "learn scrolling" by creating a separate social media account to train the algorithm in your favor.Pairing your language learning with another activity, like listening to podcasts or music while on a long walk.A bonus tip: Why your "bad" attention span is actually a superpower for learning languages , and how you can use it to switch between different content every few minutes while staying in your target language. If you use these tricks, you can increase your study time to two or three hours a day and accelerate your progress much faster than you thought possible.Connect with me, Azren, and the Calgary Language Nerds:My Website: https://azrenthelanguagenerd.com/My Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/polyglotazren/My YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/azrenthelanguagenerd

In this episode, I'm going to talk about the question I always get: "What's the best way to learn a language?" .I'll explain why I don't think there is one single "best way" for everyone. Instead, I believe the most effective method is one created specifically for you, based on detailed information and data about your learning process.I discuss the importance of measuring metrics like your pronunciation score , grammar accuracy , speech rate , vocabulary size , and daily study habits. This data helps us identify your exact strengths and weaknesses. But what happens when you get "overloaded with information"? . Using examples from my personal trainer and a social media strategist I hired , I explain how too much data can lead to overwhelm and cause you to do nothing .Listen to discover how you can gather this data slowly on your own , or why hiring an expert (like one of my tutors) might be a better option to manage the "burden" of information and keep you focused on what's most relevant .Connect with me, Azren, and the Calgary Language Nerds:My Website: https://azrenthelanguagenerd.com/My Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/polyglotazren/My YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/azrenthelanguagenerd
