In this episode I share my experience investing in a 1,423 Unit Multifamily Investment Fund. This is a short but educational episode in which I speak about how I found this fund, the assets within the fund, projected returns, etc. I also speak about how this investment nearly doubled my personal Limited Partner portfolio, and how its less risky then the other investments. I also uncover some underwriting concerns I missed before I investing in this fund! (you can't win them all) Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information out there on investing in Multifamily Investment Funds for Limited Partners so I hope this short episode will be somewhat educational.****FUTURE LISTENERS, PLEASE START WITH EPISODE 0 AND THEN LISTEN IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER TO GET THE MOST VALUE OUT OF MY PODCAST****Sponsor Information:Rat Race to Financial Independence (Listeners Discount Link)To be a guest on the show, or for more information about our Podcast:Shannon J. SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL SERIES: This episode is 3 of a 4 part special educational series to help anyone invest in their first Multifamily Syndication in 6-Months or less. Part 3 covers how to find a good GP group to invest with. Bear in mind, this is probably the most important task you will face as a Passive Investor. You can invest in the very best asset, but if the GP group is incompetent you can lose a lot more than money. (i.e. more money and time) So, be sure to check out this episode out if you're struggling finding a needle in a haystack.****FUTURE LISTENERS, PLEASE START WITH EPISODE 0 AND THEN LISTEN IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER TO GET THE MOST VALUE OUT OF MY PODCAST****Sponsor Information:Rat Race to Financial Independence (Listeners Discount Link)To be a guest on the show, or for more information about our Podcast:Shannon J. Not only is Sandhya one of the smartest people I've had on my Podcast, but she's 100% transparent like me. This week I interview a good friend of mine, Diego Corzo. Against all odds, Diego was able to achieve financial independence by the ripe age of 26. Fast forward 4 years, Diego has a respectable real estate portfolio, has given 3 Ted Talks, is a Mentor to close to 100 eager investors, and has been featured by BiggerPockets (episode 352). If that's not impressive enough, Diego came to his country at the age of 9 undocumented. Because of his Dreamer status, he could not get the paperwork necessary to get a Driver's License or qualify for a Student Loan. Despite all this, Diego graduated from Florida State University in the top 3rd of his class 100% debt free. He is now shifting his sites to Multifamily investing, and he was generous enough with his time to share his life's story with our listeners. Did I mention Justin is also the host of one of my favorite new podcasts True Multifamily? This episode is packed with stories you won't hear on other podcasts! Justin shares with us his first major syndication, and how things got off to a rough start! But, instead of giving up he worked hard to get the asset stabilized and back on track for his investors. He also talks about some things he's going to do to make it right with his investors, which is something every Limited Partner should look for in a GP group. If you want REAL stories that don't always focus on what goes right, but what can go wrong, then check this episode out! ****FUTURE LISTENERS, PLEASE START WITH EPISODE 0 AND THEN LISTEN IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER TO GET THE MOST VALUE OUT OF MY PODCAST****Sponsor Information:Rat Race to Financial Independence (Listeners Discount Link)To be a guest on the show, or for more information about our Podcast:Shannon J. I purposely interviewed local real estate guru and financial expert Baskal Korkis to prove an important point. Investing in buy-and-hold residential real estate is not passive! Baskal shares his journey investing in real estate, how he acquired 23 doors by 23 years old (yes you read that right). He gives an update on the impact Covid had on his personal portfolio, and why he's hoarding cash now (and why you should too). We briefly cover when a future recession may occur, and Baskal reminds us of his prediction on the economy the first time we met. Separately, he discusses how social media has aided him in his rise to real estate investing. Lastly, Baskal also owns several related businesses catered towards helping real estate investors with taxes, insurance, financing and education.*There are several corrections noted on this episode. 1) In the intro I state that Baskal was the first person I interviewed, while that is true I did publish another guest interview before this episode. 2) In the intro I reference that he has 130K Instagram followers. At the time that I publish this episode, his follower count has grown to 228K Instagram followers.****FUTURE LISTENERS, PLEASE START WITH EPISODE 0 AND THEN LISTEN IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER TO GET THE MOST VALUE OUT OF MY PODCAST****To be a guest on the show, or for more information about our Podcast:Shannon J.
