Are you robbing the world of what you have inside to give? Are you sitting on the bench when you should be in the game. what do you want on your headstone one day? People need what you have, stop stealing from them, it's time to show up! Day 31: What's Your Name? Ever wondered if the name you were given has meaning? We tend to name ourselves by the beliefs we have about ourselves. Like Jacob, whose name meant "Man striver, manipulator, usurper." God sees us differently to the way we see ourselves. As we come out the other side of fear, trial, and struggle, God is ready to call you by a different name. One that is different from the way you see yourself and rather to the way He sees you! What you think you are is not what God knows you are and what God calls you!!
Day 30: Weights & Snares. In Hebrews 12: 1 - 3 Paul tells us to cast off Weights, Snares, burdens, and sin in order for us to run this race well. What are these things we are throwing off? Are there things that we need to put on when we run this race set before us as well?
Challenge 29: Knock Knock Knocking on Heaven's Door! When fear comes knocking we need to start praying. This is sound advice. Prayer is powerful and impactful. But what if we have been taking Old Testament stance on prayer and becoming the friend on the outside knocking to get in when all the while we have the authority of the child sleeping in the Father's bed?
Challenge 28: The Battle of Praise. The Greek word used in Philippians 4:8 for praiseworthy is ep'-ahee-nos, meaning enthusiastic acknowledgment for what deserves praise. in Psalm 34:1-3 David declared he would praise the LORD at all times, whether those times were good or bad. He cultivated a constant attitude of praise. Why does the enemy want us to focus on ourselves and our circumstances, our fears and anxieties? Because he know when we do we are no longer praising God but rather he is the one receiving our praise!
Challenge 27: Great is Thy Faithfulness. God's Goodness never ends. God doesn’t just stop being good. Don’t think to yourself, “I messed up this week and I know God is going to get me.” This is such a broken view of God. We mess up every day, but God is continually pouring out His grace and His mercy upon us. The goodness of God is infinitely more wonderful than we will ever know. His goodness is not dependent on you, but it’s dependent on who He is. God, by nature, is inherently good. Does God allow trials to happen? Yes, but even when He does allow these things He is still good and worthy of praise. We can be confident that we serve a God who will work good things out of bad situations.
Challenge 26: "Something bad is going to happen!" Paul finishes Philippians 4:8 with whatever is excellent and praiseworthy. The first is excellence ar-et'-ay, same as the previous word admirable (Goodness, Virtue). However Paul is changing the game. All the other thinking was on concepts but now he turns to thinking about God and more specifically His character. i.e. God is good. In order for us to overcome fear it starts with understanding God's goodness.
Challenge 25: Full of the Truth of Grace. The power of the Christian life is the foundation of God's amazing grace. Jesus came for of the truth of Grace. We have tried to separate the two, we have used analogies that they are two parts of a coin, yet when we look at the Greek we realize that they are part of the same concept. Truth is grace and grace is truth.
Challenge 24: A Time to Heal. Continuing in Philippians 4:8, Paull tells us to credit our minds with whatever is lovely. the Greek word used here is pros-fee-lace' or what is pleasing, acceptable, grateful, personal affection, hence, dearly prized, i.e. worth the effort to have and embrace. At his time we need to be focused on building and healing relationships. these are gifts from God and as Christians forgiveness is what we have received freely so we need to freely give.
Challenge 23: "You Haven't Done Enough!" Paul tells us to fill our minds with that which is pure. the Greek word here is hag-nos. In other words thoughts that are not mixed with guilt or condemnation. This is the enemies greatest weapon against Christians and when we fill our minds with these types of thoughts we are sidelined from the battle.
Challenge 22: Time to Reign! Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8 to think on things that are right. The Greek word he uses here is (dik'-ah-yos). This word means, Righteousness. Paul wants us to focus on who Christ made you to be. He wants us to get acquainted with the teaching about righteousness and not be still stuck on milk like babies. For us to reign in this life like Romans 5:17 tells us we need to learn to receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness.
Challenge 21: Fill with Nobility. The Greek word for nobility in Philippians 4:8 is (sem-nos'). It means, what you are crediting to your mind has depth, is serious and not trivial. Our time in prayer and communion with the Lord is a time where He wants to reveal deep things just as he tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:10.
Challenge 20: Filled with Truth. The Greek word Paul uses in Philippians 4:8 for truth is (al-ay-thace') and means facts, things that are not hidden. What does Paul want us to credit to our account? God's word of truth. Now is the time to allow His word to fill us with truth.
Challenge 19: What's in your bank account? According to Philippians 4:8, Paul tells us to think on certain things. The word think in the Greek is (log-id'-zom-ahee) it means to Credit oneself, to take into account. In other words, overcoming fear and anxiety is learning to change what you are crediting into your bank account of your mind.
Challenge 18: We get what we need, not what we want. We don't always get what we want, but God's desire is to give us our desires of our heart (These desires have been placed there by Him) because He knows what we need!
Challenge 17: Recapping "Calling Jesus" Due to bad Audio. This is a recap of Day 16 due to some bad audio half way through the podcast.
Challenge 16: Calling Jesus. In this time of sitting captive in our boats (Homes) the Covid-19 storm raging around us, Jesus is walking past on water. It's time to invite him into our boats. He's knocking and as Christians we need to let Him in!
Challenge 15: A Fortress and a Shield. Before we have done anything to gain His favor, God tells us He is our fortress to hide in, a shield to protect us and our great reward. In other words God gives without us earning it!
Challenge 14: We are all Sissy's! Where we are weak He is strong. Don't fear your weakness. When we get a revelation that weakness is not something to be ashamed of but rather a opportunity for God to show His strength.
Challenge 13: Dreams Sustain Us! Ask God to give you a dream or a purpose. Dreams, visions and purpose keep you sailing straight and away from the rocks fear drives you to.
Challenge 12: Today Matters Because of Kingdom Matters. You have the Kingdom now what are you going to do with it? The kingdom is here, we don't need to seek the kingdom we need to realize we have the King living in us and His kingdom is what we walk out in our lives.
Challenge 11: Fear, a Turkey's Perspective. Launch as an eagle not as a turkey. Turkeys walk around with their heads in the dirt all day long. There perspective is the ground and a bunch of insects and worms. It's time we gained God's perspective. that of an eagle.
Challenge 10: Pray v.s Prey. We can become a gum-less lions prey standing up or we can be a victor on our knees. Satan's power was stripped at the cross but just like a lions roar he can still produce fear in us. The best way to combat this fake lion is fighting on our knees.
Challenge 9: Guard your Heart. God's peace is more than just a feeling but it stops us from doing foolish things. God's peace guards our hearts from the actions we foolishly take when we are filled with fear and anxiety.
Challenge 8: Stop the B.S! Time to stop making large blanket statements and start speaking what God says. Blanket statements hurt us and others. Fill our mouths (Our mixing bowl of faith) with God's words and not the enemies!
Challenge 7: The P.L.S. System for Overcoming Fear. Take hold of the 3 keys to overcoming fear. We have been given Power, Love and a Sound Mind through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Fear is not your inheritance.
Challenge 6: Part Two - Blood & Bread. There is Power in the Covenant Meal, it's more than just remembering how Jesus died and took our sins away. What Jesus did was so much more than taking our sins away. He didn't just save us from but He also saved us towards something. Its time to claim your inheritance that Jesus won for you on the cross of Calvary.
Challenge 6: Part One - Three Boats. The author's of the gospels talk about three times the disciples were stuck in a boat in a storm. Each time they deal with the storm and Jesus differently. What boat do you find yourself in at this time? Maybe It's time for some of us to walk on water.
Challenge 5: Woe! Woe! Woe! Close the doors in your homes that are allowing negativity and fear to enter! Where is all this negativity coming from. It's time to bar your entryways into your lives and homes. The media is crying, woe, woe woe, and we are listening!
Challenge 4: Remembrance Stones. Build remembrance stones of what God has done to get you through in the past. As the Israelite's left a pile of stones at the banks of the river Jordan to help them remember the miracles God did for them.
Challenge 3: Love Drives out Fear. Discover that you are loved! The opposite of fear is not faith but rather love! The most important part of a Christians life that will make them almost immune to fear is becoming a conduit of Daddy's love.
Challenge 2: Conversations with the Father. Who are you speaking to when you become afraid? The amount of negative things we say to ourselves daily, either about our circumstances or about us is astounding! It's time to stop talking to ourselves and start talking to the one who lives in us!
Challenge 1: Wearing Christ as your Armor. Put on Christ so you can face the fear of the enemy. We start Day one looking at the armor we need to equip ourselves with as we go through times of fear and anxiety. This armor is something us as Christians can live in, because this armor is Christ, and we are in Christ according to the word.
In the times we are living. The Corona Virus (Covid-19), a plunging stock market and people locked in their homes, anxiety and fear are on the rise. This challenge is a 31 day challenge to deal with this thing called fear that can debilitate us and even make us do foolish things. It's time to take action against fear and go on the offence! Be it now or later, no matter what time we are living in, fear is our enemy and we need to war against it and not let it take control of us. Take up the challenge to rule fear and not let it rule you!
