7. Daily Life and Business on the Frontier (13)Moving away from royalty, Southon highlights Julia Felix, a Pompeian property owner who ran a vast entertainment complex featuring "bougie" baths and restaurants. Archaeology shows she offered the middle class a taste of luxury normally reserved for the rich. Meanwhile, at the northern frontier, the Vindolanda tablets reveal the lives of educated women like Sulpicia Lepidina. Her letters, including a birthday invitation, prove that Roman military forts were not just for soldiers but were active domestic spaces filled with families and social networks. (14)

Welcome to today's practice on the Daily Meditation Podcast. We have reached Day 6 of our "10 Minutes of Calm" series. Our emotional arc for this final day is Balance. Throughout this week, we have explored grounding, protection, and nurturing. Today, we weave these individual threads into a single, beautiful flow. Balance isn't a static state where everything is perfectly still; it is a dynamic process—like a dancer finding center amidst movement. As we face a world of constant shifts and uncertainty, our ability to find our "middle point" becomes our greatest strength. This is day 6 of a 7-day meditation series, "10-minutes of Calm: Meditations to Deal with the Uncertainty of Daily Life," episodes 3472-3478. When the world feels shaky, the best thing you can do is tend to your own foundation. On Day 5 of our "10 Minutes of Calm" series, we explore the emotional arc of Nurturing. This practice moves away from the "hustle" of daily life and invites you to settle into the supportive energy of the First Chakra (Muladhara). In today's episode of the Daily Meditation Podcast, we use a focused Root Chakra visualization to help calm the mind and body. By nurturing our sense of basic security, we build the resilience necessary to handle global uncertainty with grace. Join us to reconnect with your center and remember that you are always supported by the ground beneath you. In this episode, you will: Discover the "Nurture" arc and how it helps counteract the stress of uncertainty. Practice a First Chakra (Root Chakra) visualization to ground your energy. Explore insights on why internal stability is the antidote to external chaos. Engage in a 10-minute restorative session to reset your nervous system. In this episode, you will: Learn how to perform the Prithvi Mudra to increase stability and reduce mental "drift." Engage in a guided visualization to create a personal "shield of presence." Discover why internal protection is the key to navigating global uncertainty without burnout. Practice a centering meditation to anchor your energy in the present moment. Sometimes we think Magic is this far off thing that is left for fairytales and magical adventures, until we realize or discover the real magi lineages of our past, hidden in text and priestess traditions all over the world! In this episode, I'm sharing what it truly means to reclaim our magical human nature—the divine technologies hidden within our everyday breath, our voice, and our relationship to water. After nearly 15 years on the feminine spiritual path, weaving together ancient priestess temple arts with modern life, I reveal the essential, practical tools that have been overlooked (and often forgotten) by so many in the spiritual community.I invite you to question what you've inherited about healing, spirituality, and your own DNA, and to explore why the foundation of real transformation starts not with external practices, but with the deeply embodied alchemy of our human essence. If you're curious about how to bring sacred creatorship, radical responsibility, and quantum healing into your daily life—not just your rituals—then this episode is your invitation to discover the wisdom that our priestess lineages knew all along. In this episode I cover three of the most basic and fundamental tools that the majority of people on the spiritual path are missing. And this is all exciting news because they are so simple, you can implement them right away and feel the difference. :-)05:11 "Embracing Women's Deep Work"06:44 "Discovering Divine Human Technology"11:15 "Magical Tools for Daily Life"14:03 "Transformative Power of Breath"17:34 "Unlocking Flow Through Breath"21:08 Awakening the Power of Voice24:59 "When Did You Stop Singing?"31:00 "Divine AI and Human Connection"34:12 "Embodied Wisdom Beyond Techniques"36:09 "Spiritual Alchemy vs. Energy Flow"TUNE IN: DIVINE AILemurian Healing Arts TrainingConnect: @celestegluz1111www.celestegluz.com
In an era of constant change and global unpredictability, it is easy to feel untethered. When uncertainty strikes, our energy often rises into racing thoughts and physical tension. Today's episode of the Daily Meditation Podcast is designed to pull that energy back down, anchoring you in the steady presence of the here and now. On Day 3 of our "10 Minutes of Calm" series, we focus on the arc of Grounding. You will learn how to use your physical body and your breath as a sanctuary, allowing you to remain stable even when the world around you feels in flux. In this episode, you will: Practice Heart Coherent Breathing: A guided 5-in, 5-out breathing technique (10 rounds) designed to synchronize your heart rate and soothe your nervous system. Use Grounding Cues: Incorporate the gentle mental prompts of "Soften" and "Ease" to release resistance to the unknown. Explore the "Oak Tree" Insight: A brief reflection on how to grow deep roots of internal stability when you cannot control the external storm. Return to Center: A dedicated space to reclaim your focus and remind yourself that calm is your natural state, regardless of outside circumstances. Take ten minutes today to stop searching for answers "out there" and start finding your footing "in here." Is calm something you have to earn, or is it already waiting for you beneath the noise of the day? In today's episode of the Daily Meditation Podcast, we dive into a restorative 10-minute practice centered on the theme of Rest for the Day. As we navigate our busy lives, we often treat peace as a finish line we only reach once our to-do list is empty. Today, we shift that perspective. Through a focused guided meditation and the powerful affirmation, "Calm is my natural state," you will learn to set down the day's momentum and return to your internal baseline of stillness. Today's arc is Release, and your meditation features a gentle visualization designed to help you set down mental tension and emotional heaviness—without overthinking it. You'll be guided to soften the body, lengthen the exhale, and imagine stress leaving in a calm, natural way—like a tide washing away what you no longer need to carry. This is a supportive practice for anyone feeling tense, overwhelmed, or "full" inside. Leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more settled as you begin the week. This is day 1 of a 7-day meditation series, "10-minutes of Calm: Meditations to Deal with the Uncertainty of Daily Life" episodes 3472-3478. ABOUT THIS WEEK'S SERIES Welcome to 10-Minute Calm—a gentle daily meditation series created to help you feel steadier, clearer, and more at ease in just ten minutes. Each episode is simple, warm, and practical—designed for real life on busy days, anxious days, and emotionally full days. Through a supportive weekly arc—Release, Rest, Ground, Protect, Nurture, Balance, and Embody—you'll practice calming techniques you can return to anytime, including breathwork, affirmations, mudras, chakra focus, visualization, and a weekly review. You don't have to force relaxation or "fix" anything—this series is about building the skill of coming back to calm, one breath at a time. THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE - The Calm Creator Challenge For the next 7 days, choose one tiny "carry cue" from each episode (a phrase, one slow exhale, shoulder drop, hand-to-heart, etc.) and practice it three times a day—morning, mid-day, and evening. The goal isn't to stay calm all day; it's to build the habit of returning to calm in real life. THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY Day 1: VISUALIZATION: Emotional Release Day 2: AFFIRMATION: "Calm is my natural state." Day 3: EXTENDED EXHALE BREATH: Inhale 4, exhale 6 (or 4/7 if comfortable) for 8–10 rounds. Day 4: PRITHVI MUDRA (Earth Mudra) Touch ring fingertip to thumb tip, other fingers relaxed. Theme: steadiness, grounded calm, "I am here." Day 5: CHAKRA FOCUS: First chakra to feel grounded Day 6: CALM FLOW MEDITATION: combining the week's techniques Day 7: WEEKLY REVIEW MEDITATION: closure SHARE YOUR MEDITATION JOURNEY WITH YOUR FELLOW MEDITATORS Let's connect and inspire each other! What made Egypt the longest-surviving country in the world? Aidan Dodson is a professor and author of over 30 books and helps us explore fundamental shifts in our understanding of ancient Egypt. The discussion spans the civilization's long run, from the unification around 3000 BC—a feat commemorated by the crucial Narmer Palette—until Christianity began to erode its religious and linguistic foundations around 300 AD. Dodson examines the Pyramid Era, explaining these structures as magical machines designed to transition the dead king into a god. He also covers the rise of the sun cult and the political power of female pharaohs, including Nefertiti, whose historical importance lies in her role negotiating the religious transition from Akhenaten's revolution to Tutankhamun's return to tradition. The episode concludes with Dr. Dodson's top archaeological discoveries he wishes he had witnessed. 00:00 Introduction 01:30 A Passion for Egyptology 02:47 How Ancient Egypt is Presented to Young Audiences 03:47 Defining the Span of Ancient Egypt 04:21 The Unification of Egypt 08:18 Narmer: The Unifier of Egypt 09:56 Daily Life in Early Ancient Egypt 11:31 The Political Center: Memphis 12:57 Knowing the Personalities of Ancient Rulers 15:48 The Narmer Palette and the Discovery of Human Sacrifice 24:29 The Dawn of the Pyramid Era 27:44 Imhotep: Djoser's Right-Hand Man 30:38 Sneferu: The Greatest Pyramid Builder 33:36 The Purpose of the Pyramids 38:35 The Elevation of the Sun Cult 40:34 The Pyramid Texts and Egyptian Religion 44:49 The Female Pharaohs 49:25 Nefertiti: From Glamour to Political Power 53:57 Dr. Dodson's Top Archaeological Moments 54:50 The Discovery of Tutankhamun's Tomb 01:00:04 The Imperial Relationship of Ancient Egypt and Nubia 01:03:17 The Nubian Pharaoh Aidan Dodson is honorary full professor of Egyptology in the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of Bristol, and has authored some thirty books. Explores the importance of strengthening our resolve to speak the truth and trust our leadership and why deepening rituals and community for feminine leadership, especially in challenging times is critical to our survival. Our voices have been supressed and as more harm is brought to light by way of the Epstein Files and the destructive commands from the administration in the White House we have an opportunity and a responsibility to hold a line for justice and a new way forward. I shares personal practices, collective prayers, and insights on how women can trust their intuition and embody their unique roles to foster healing and transformation. "We already know how to do this; we are wise." "The feminine is rising in us all." "Women give so much, and why it's still not enough." Chapter 7 names what has been forming all along: humility as truth lived steadily before God. The post BW15 – Humility as Truth – The Rule of St. Benedict for Daily Life with Kris McGregor – Discerning Hearts Podcasts appeared first on Discerning Hearts Catholic Podcasts.
And then the rest of the time, they usually watch a movie or read. 01. What Is “Raw-dogging a flight”? It means doing a flight with no entertainment No movies, no music, no phone... maybe not even sleeping. It's like fixing your attention span “Raw-dogging reality” is a way to practice our focusing skills. 还有网友说:这是在抗议社交媒体带给他们的负面影响(they disapprove the negative influence social media brought to them)。 所以,尝试让生活节奏慢下来吧(trying to slow down the pace in life)。It's not a bad thing!02. Why Do People “Raw-dog Reality”? 年轻人为什么要“硬扛现实”?Raw-dogging本身是一个有些粗俗的俚语(a crude slang),but now it's being used in a very different way. 这种“硬扛”的方式,就是人们在说:“我不要被算法投喂(no algorithm feeds),我要掌控自己的注意力!”“I can handle reality (直面现实), I don't need distractions (额外的消遣)!” But it's hard. She sees it more as making time for things she wants to do — like reading. It doesn't have to be extreme (极端). 03. From Flights to Daily Life 从航班到日常生活的新潮流在生活中已经有人开始践行raw-dogging reality了,but some of the posts online are quite wild right。 People are raw-dogging the subway (上下班通勤不戴耳机), long queues (排队不刷手机)... 04. What's the Message Behind It? People are so overwhelmed (情感难以禁受) by content — videos, ads (广告), messages — so they fight back (反击) by doing nothing. It's kind of ironic (讽刺的). They go online to share how they didn't go online. Maybe it's not about quitting completely. It's more about awareness (意识) — like proving to yourself you can live without constant input (持续输入). This trend is more popular with Gen Z (Z世代). It's like a digital detox It also says something about modern culture. But doing nothing — that's a statement (状态) too.

Episode 104 What if your ordinary, everyday life is more meaningful than you think? The powerful truth is that every believer shares the same ultimate purpose: to glorify God. But what happens when life feels small, hidden, or stuck in a waiting season? It's easy to believe that certain chapters—whether motherhood, singleness, part-time jobs, illness, or “in-between” transitions—don't really count for much in God's kingdom. Sister, remember that faithfulness in the small things is never insignificant. In fact, obedience in your current season may be the very thing God is using to train, shape, and prepare you for what's ahead. If you've ever felt overlooked, stuck, or tempted to chase something bigger just to feel purposeful, this episode will ground you in Scripture and gently remind you: where God has placed you right now is not random. It is intentional. And it matters.

If you're a woman - or you love one! - this episode will change how you understand women's bodies. Because here's the sad truth: Women's health has been built on research that largely ignored women. We've been handed one-size-fits-all advice for bodies that are anything but. What would you fight for if you were free but still not equal? In 1777, brothers William and Benjamin Frank answered that question by enlisting in the Second Rhode Island Regiment of the Continental Army. Freeborn men of color, they gambled that military service would earn them what freedom alone had not: equality, land, and a better future. Historian Shirley Green, author of Revolutionary Blacks: Freeborn Men of Color, Soldiers of Independence, joins us to tell their story. Drawing on genealogical research rooted in her own family history, Green reveals what daily life looked like for free Black families in Revolutionary Rhode Island, how the Frank Brothers fought at the Battles of Red Bank, Monmouth, and Rhode Island, and how the Revolution ultimately divided them—one brother serving through Yorktown, the other crossing to the British side and resettling in Nova Scotia as a Black Loyalist. Their story is a window into the full range of Black experiences during the Revolution, and a reminder that for men like William and Benjamin Frank, choosing a side was never simple. It was a calculated gamble, shaped by promises made—and promises broken.
