In this first episode of the Musical Chairs of Massachusetts, we have a very BIG guest(s) in the studio. The local fan favorite of central Massachusetts, the BIG RanDom! The BIG RanDom is a classic rock cover band consisting of 8 members, including their drummer, David LaPointe, their female vocals, Danielle LaPointe, Amanda Louise, Maria Mae Hamilton, on bass, Jean-Luc LaPointe, on keys, Shaun Suhoski, on guitar and vocals, Greg Brown, and lastly, but certainly not least, one of founding members besides David LaPointe, (Rocket) Ralph Gendron. This band is a powerhouse of a performance and is well worth the trek out to central Mass to see one of their many live performances! We were amazed by their live performance in our studio! and thank you TBR for the amazing gift! We salute you all! You can check them out here: http://thebigrandomband.com
In today's episode, we had the pleasure to sit down with a Lovely being, Amanda Louise. Amanda has a pretty wild story, from growing up in a tiny town where they make you do the sure god thing to finding herself broken down in a bathtub questioning her whole existence. She is a Mother, rolls jiu-jitsu, pole dancer, Artist, and she's doing whatever she feels the call to go to, as she has started to take control of her life. This was a purely honest episode; Amanda held nothing back and was open about her life. I suggest this to everyone. We can all feel this power of honesty, acceptance, and the creation of life. Thank you's for tuning in. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

In this 'Love Being Naked' podcast show, I have a great chat with Amanda Louise Evelyn, founder of Amanda Louise Hypnotherapy who specialises in DNA and cellular healing hypnotherapy. I met Amanda in 2020 when I was visiting Ibiza and recently got to experience one of her online sessions for myself which certainly shifted my false and negative beliefs about deeply valuing myself. Amanda has developed a unique and playful way to tap into the subconscious mind, clean out the junk and start the re-programming process on a cellular and DNA quantum level. Very inspiring, we certainly loved being naked together! Tune in and listen for yourself! Caught up with author, Amanda Louise, who has been working on her inspirational debut book 'Be the Black Sheep'!! Had a great time reminiscing about our university days in Hervey Bay, and didn't realise just how much that time shaped our lives!! We have both retained so many of the lessons learned when we were studying mass media & public relations over 13 years ago(!). Spoke about what lead Amanda to the exploration and promotion of the 'Black Sheep' lifestyle, and why she decided to write the book. We then had a chat about a few of her inspirations, including Walt Disney, Tony Robbins, and Tim Ferriss (author of 'The Four Hour Work Week). Amanda has done all the research and ground work for her readers, including attending motivational US style motivational conventions run by Tony Robbins, and the Aussie women's creative conference, 9 to Thrive. We discussed our shared passion for helping people, and being a part of positive communities!! Amanda has been working on her social media presence, providing videos, live streams, interviews, and posts designed to help people overcome fear, visualise success, and most of all, that it is ok to be different. On today's show, Dorothy sits down to talk with Amanda Campbell of Amanda Louise Interiors, from Greenville, South Carolina. Listen along as Amanda shares how she built her client list through social media, works with clients to create their ideal styled space, and talks about recent and upcoming collaborations. "I really think that the biggest part of style and figuring out your home is just buying things that you really love. Collecting things that really mean something to you and you're really drawn to, and not worrying about if it's on trend or really even what will look best in your space. There's something for just buying things that speak to you." "Trello is my best friend in the whole world...it has seriously changed my whole life." "Some of those big hurdles that I've gone through has really been one of the best things." "My husband says that i rearrange our living room every time there's a really good football game on, because I just sit there and rearrange furniture in my head and have to get up and start moving things, or start hanging art around the television...haha...but in the beginning it was really a laboratory for what I was trying to learn and do and it was where I really didn't have any restrictions on what I could play with and what I could do, like mixing colors and patterns. There were no stakes on if people were happy or going to like it, because it was just for me so I think I was able to try a lot of things and work through what worked for my brand and for my own home and now because I put that out there in the world, now people are allowing me to put that in their own homes and trusting me with that." Chris is a sculptor and a painter of all manner of critter, and has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the world. His work has been published in numerous books and periodicals in the US as well as in Europe and Singapore. Chris is also a toy designer and sculptor of numerous instantly sold-out editions of designer art toys and figures. Amanda’s mixed-media work combines the textures and colors of antique domestic objects, the natural world, and an obsessive attention to detail. Her fabric creatures evoke ideas of cast-off children’s toys and ill-conceived taxidermy experiments with crooked human teeth. Her work is highly sought-after by collectors around the globe, and she has exhibited her work in galleries, boutiques, and conventions across the United States, as well as Europe and Japan. Full shownotes: http://yourcreativepush.com/158 Listen to Part 1 here! In this episode, Chris & Amanda discuss: -The “F it moment,” where you have no more time to finish a project and you have to put your perfectionism aside in order to submit your work. -The idea of getting many different projects started all at once and how to handle all of that on a daily basis. -Will you be happy or sad with how you spent your time when you are on your death bed? -Coming to terms with the fact that you have a lot to say about the world and finding the way to say that through your creative endeavor. -What their creatures bring to their lives and what their lives would be like without them. -What their online followings do for their creative process. Chris & Amanda's Final Push will inspire you to put your head down and keep putting the work in and finding a way to let the creativity in! Quotes from Amanda: “It’s kind of this narcissistic fear of failure and it really keeps me from doing a lot of stuff.” “The way that I try to combat the futility of time is that I try to break everything down into small chunks. Eventually all those bricks will eventually form a wall and then you’ll have a body of work. “In terms of creativity, for me it’s drawing first and everything else after.” “It gives me a reason to share my crazy obsessions with other like-minded people who also appreciate crazy obsessions.” “You have to be a little crazy and a little silly and be willing to be a little frivolous. I think that’s really really important.” “Do whatever you can to demystify the creative process.” Quotes from Chris: “The thing that holds me back the most is that there is not enough time to do all the things that I want to do.” “I don’t want to be yet another contributor to the endless bucket full of commentary. What I want to do is give people a break for a second. To look at something that might make them smile in an otherwise dismal day. Or just a normal day.” “Wishing got nobody anywhere. Except for Pinocchio.” “On Friday night, where are you at? Are you out drinking with your friends? Or are you in your studio working on your passion, working on what’s important to you?” “Really put your head down and put the work in. That’s the only way you’ll get results.” “The goal is not to end up in a place in your life. The goal is to get better and progress until you can no longer create art.” Links mentioned: Bindlewood Connect with Chris: Website / Facebook / Instagram / Tumblr / Twitter Connect with Amanda: Website / Facebook / Instagram / Tumblr / Twitter

Full shownotes: http://yourcreativepush.com/157 In this episode, Chris & Amanda discuss: -Where the inspiration for their creatures came from. -How they intend to make their art a projection of the way they want to see the world, not necessarily the way the world is. -How they feel a protective sense over their creatures. -Amanda’s fascination with teeth. -How Chris started his “Morning Scribbles.” -The momentum that you can gain by putting out daily content. -How they deal with creative blocks. -The idea of “poop sketches” and the fact that rough, initial versions of a piece of art often have more life to it than a final, perfected version. -The “inertia approach” of just getting started and building momentum. -The positives and negatives of being a creative couple. Quotes from Amanda: “Sometimes I really do feel like I’m not the one in control. I feel like they’re using my hands to come to life in a way.” “They’re definitely autobiographical in a lot of ways.” “Getting started, getting motivated, having discipline, time management – that whole family of stuff is like my white whale. It’s the thing I long to overcome.” “I try to go for the inertia approach, which is just start doing it. If I can get myself started, generally I’ll keep going.” “We always joke and say that our creatures live in the same world. But mine live in the house and his live in the backyard.” Quotes from Chris: “I’m trying to make a projection of the world the way I want it, not necessarily the way the world is.” “I want to engage the audience. They’re looking at a monster that isn’t recognizable as anything, but they can recognize themselves in this character.” “You can start your day with already accomplishing something, and that’s a really good mindset to be in.” “I never thought that one third of my business was going to be from the thing I was doing every day anyway and not sharing with anybody.” Links mentioned: Bindlewood Connect with Chris: Website / Facebook / Instagram / Tumblr / Twitter Connect with Amanda: Website / Facebook / Instagram / Tumblr / Twitter
