Dr. John Whitcomb concludes his message called, "Basic Biblical Answers"—this week on "Encounter God's Truth." Host Wayne Shepherd invites you to join those who first listened to this teaching when it was given at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia, to demonstrate that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. In drawing on some life lessons he has learned the hard way, Dr. Whitcomb explains the clear Scriptural basis for contending for the faith. He shows how the self-authenticating message of the Word of God and prayer—empowered by Jesus Christ, "the living Word of God"—are the means that we must use when talking with others about our faith. We must never rely on our own limited knowledge or abilities. As Dr. Whitcomb emphasizes, we need to be humble, patient and teachable—leaving the results in God's hands. Thank you for listening to this latest installment in our series on "Biblical Apologetics." May the Lord help you as you seek to apply it.
God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. We know that—but how do we convince other people who do not believe it? That is our focus in this new series of messages here on "Encounter God's Truth." They were originally recorded live as Dr. John Whitcomb delivered them to a conference at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia. Today, Dr. Whitcomb begins a sermon entitled, "Basic Biblical Answers." We are considering the profound issue of how we must present the Bible to non-believers in this postmodern, post-Christian culture. Our teacher opens by using illustrations from the disciplines of science and history to exemplify the challenges that evolutionists face, which we must probe as we proclaim the gospel to those who do not yet believe in Christ. Please join along with host Wayne Shepherd as we open this series on "Biblical Apologetics." This would also be a great opportunity to share our program with a believing—or unbelieving—friend.
Biblical Apologetics: Lesson 23 - Evolution, Argument from Truth - Part 4
Biblical Apologetics: Lesson 20- Evolution, Argument from Truth, Part 3
There is a growing clash in our society today between biblical Christianity and secular culture. These worldviews stand in opposition to one another. Many in our secular world system will be very vocal and forceful in their views. As such, many believers will step back and not want to make waves or do not respond due to a lack of confidence that they can provide a solid defense of the faith. And yet we read in Scripture as found in I Peter 3:15, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." Perhaps you already know you need help in this area. If so, we have some good news as a powerful tool has recently been published to equip you in defending the faith. Joining Crosstalk to tell us about this new tool was Sarah Enterline. Sarah is an author, apologist, pastor's wife, mother, teacher and women's ministry leader. She has taught apologetics, biblical studies, philosophy, and history at both the secondary and college levels.Apologetics comes from the Greek word: apologia. Sarah said it's like a defense lawyer in an ancient courtroom presenting a defense, showing that their arguments are true. It can be applied to any discipline and in the case of biblical apologetics, it involves presenting a robust case, building evidence to show why the Bible and biblical Christianity are part of the one true faith. What are some of the obstacles that may cause Christians to not defend their faith? What are the 5 ways to show that God exists? What evidence exists of things and people mentioned in the Bible?

Biblical Apologetics: Lesson 12; Defeating Atheism, Part 1, Stephen Feinstein
IT'S DIFFICULT enough explaining why we Christians believe in Jesus, but doing so with our Jewish brothers and sisters requires tact and patience made necessary by almost 1,900 years of mutual animosity. We're joined this week by Dr. Igal German, founding director of the Institute of Biblical Apologetics (BibleApologist.org) and Yesod Bible Center (YesodBibleCenter.com). We discuss Dr. German's journey from rabbinic Judaism to faith in Jesus as the Messiah, his work in apologetics, and the current state of Christian responses to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Dr. German emphasizes the importance of understanding apologetics as a defense of faith, the need for a strong Christian voice in support of Israel, and the mission to reach the Jewish community with the gospel. There is a complex historical and theological relationship between Judaism and Christianity, and we explore the implications of supersessionism, the interpretation of Messianic prophecies, and the role of education in bridging the divide between Christians and Jews—especially the importance of understanding the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and the need for compassion and sensitivity in evangelism. NOTE: Apologies for the audio issues with my mic this week!
Pastor Steve discusses the role of evidence in apologetics. He also gives a tool to spot inconsistency and arbitrariness in the claims of unbelievers.

Biblical Apologetics: Lesson 4; The Philosophy of Apologetics, Part 1
Pastor Steve discusses the difference between the regenerate and unregenerate, the myth of neutrality, the Fall, and the theology of the fool.
Pastor Steve discusses the theology that must undergird our Christian worldview and our apologetic defense.

In the final episode of this series, we speak to George Diwakar about a sermon he preached on Acts 19. We talked to George about apologetics, and how the Bible acts an apologetic for itself, as well as more widely about the book of Acts, its structure and its purpose. We were also joined by William Taylor and Tim Sheppard who contributed to the same teaching series on the book of Acts. In this episode we feature a talk from George Diwakar, curate at St Helen's Bishopsgate on Acts 19:21-41. The talk explores the shallow nature of opposition to the Gospel and the underlying motives of those who would attack the kingdom of Jesus Christ. On Friday's episode, we'll be speaking to George more about this talk, and will be joined by pastors William Taylor and Tim Sheppard who also contributed to this series. You can listen to the entire series on the book Acts here. The Bible Matters Podcast is funded entirely by the generous donations of its listeners.
