Do we spend enough time focusing on Thanksgiving? In this classic rerun, we listen to Dr. John Whitcomb's teaching on this timely question in a special holiday episode of our broadcast, "Encounter God's Truth." Basing his presentation on the gospel account of Jesus' healing of 10 lepers, our teacher also took us to several other Scriptures that demonstrate the vital importance of giving thanks to the Lord. Host Wayne Shepherd also asked Dr. Whitcomb to expand on the emphasis that the Apostle Paul placed on thankfulness in the great passage in Romans 1. We pray that your Thanksgiving celebration will be richly blessed, and we are glad that you have chosen to make "Encounter God's Truth" a part of it. May God help us all to look to Him during this holiday season.

Enjoy this special presentation featuring the classic Bible teaching of Dr. Daniel Pritchett. Dr. Pritchett is a long-time pastor and the son of Dr. and Mrs. John and Norma Whitcomb. Dr. Pritchett grew up on the mission field in the Philippines. He is a graduate of Grace College, Grace Theological Seminary and Dallas Theological Seminary. We are grateful to the Bridge Church in Martinsburg, W.Va., for allowing us to share this audio with you here.

We conclude our series on "Biblical Apologetics" this weekend on "Encounter God's Truth." Please join us for teaching that originated at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, W.Va. Dr. John Whitcomb concludes his sermon on, "The Necessity of God's Word." In this message, we focus on the energy that Scripture has as it impacts our hearts and minds with God's eternal truth. As Dr. Whitcomb shows us in this lesson, it's more formidable than the greatest human intellect—and even more powerful than seeing a miracle! Thank you for listening to this broadcast outreach of Whitcomb Ministries. Host Wayne Shepherd reminds us that our purpose each week is to explore the reality that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. May the Lord bless you during this week ahead!

This week on "Encounter God's Truth," Whitcomb Ministries presents the next installment in our series on "Biblical Apologetics." The message will be the first portion of a sermon by Dr. John Whitcomb called, "The Necessity of God's Word." Listen as host Wayne Shepherd leads us back to Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, W.Va.—where we learn to strengthen our faith in the reality that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. Our teacher shows us that we have a power source that is readily available, which allows us as mere finite human beings to have victory and influence in the spiritual realm—even though we are opposed by all the enemies of God and His gospel (both human and demonic), as well as our own sin natures. This power source is nothing hidden or mysterious, but something that is readily available to each of us—the Holy Scriptures. Thank you so much for listening to this week's program. Please feel free to share it with others and be sure to tell your friends about our ministry.

Dr. John Whitcomb instructs us further regarding "The Necessity of God's Power" in this message, continuing his series on "Biblical Apologetics," which was first delivered at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, W.Va. This sermon reinforces the certainty that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end by explaining more about how to share our faith with those who disagree and resist the message of God's grace. It goes into detail regarding the power source that influences unbelievers—namely Satan and his demons, and how they relate to history and prophecy. With host Wayne Shepherd, we consider how to respond Biblically when unbelievers are less than enthusiastic about our witness for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for joining us on this edition of "Encounter God's Truth" from Whitcomb Ministries. We encourage you to make full use of this program by sharing it with a friend who could be encouraged by it.

This week on "Encounter God's Truth" from Whitcomb Ministries, Bible teacher Dr. John Whitcomb presents part one of a message called "The Necessity of God's Power." We go to Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, W.Va., along with host Wayne Shepherd, to learn how the Bible clearly explains that every person possesses a sin nature that renders us totally depraved. This desperate condition requires God's perfect ability in order to make it possible for anyone to believe the gospel and be saved. This can never be accomplished by our feeble attempts to manipulate or trick people into accepting the gospel. In this lesson, Dr. Whitcomb unfolds the place that arguments and evidences for the Christian faith should have in our witness—in light of both the total depravity of man and the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures. God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! Thanks for listening to it today on "Encounter God's Truth."

Thanks for listening to "Encounter God's Truth"—where we teach every week that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. Today Dr. John Whitcomb continues his series on "Biblical Apologetics" by concluding our consideration of "Evolutionary Difficulties." We are going to look at some of the Scriptural imperatives that we must practice in order to be effective in sharing our faith with the unbelieving world—also considering the powerful impact that our own lives have upon the effectiveness of our witness for the gospel. Guided by Wayne Shepherd, we travel together to Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, W.Va., which has graciously allowed Whitcomb Ministries to distribute these messages to a wider audience by way of radio. We are glad that you have joined us for this program, and hope that the broadcast will challenge you to share the gospel with others now—while there is still time.

We go deeper into "Biblical Apologetics" today on "Encounter God's Truth" with Dr. John Whitcomb. This is Part One of a message on "Evolutionary Difficulties." In it we tackle challenging questions like these: Since evolution is not true, why is it so difficult to convince unbelievers regarding the Bible's account of creation? And why do so many Christians even seem unwilling to agree on the Biblical position? Also, how are we as Christians to go about seeking to bring ardent unbelievers to the Lord? Or to strengthen struggling believers? Whitcomb Ministries expresses appreciation to Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia, for allowing us to bring you this conference audio. Wayne Shepherd, our host, sets the context for this important and timely lesson that is intended to help us effectively communicate that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. We encourage you to share this broadcast with others.

Dr. John Whitcomb concludes his message called, "Basic Biblical Answers"—this week on "Encounter God's Truth." Host Wayne Shepherd invites you to join those who first listened to this teaching when it was given at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia, to demonstrate that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. In drawing on some life lessons he has learned the hard way, Dr. Whitcomb explains the clear Scriptural basis for contending for the faith. He shows how the self-authenticating message of the Word of God and prayer—empowered by Jesus Christ, "the living Word of God"—are the means that we must use when talking with others about our faith. We must never rely on our own limited knowledge or abilities. As Dr. Whitcomb emphasizes, we need to be humble, patient and teachable—leaving the results in God's hands. Thank you for listening to this latest installment in our series on "Biblical Apologetics." May the Lord help you as you seek to apply it.

God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. We know that—but how do we convince other people who do not believe it? That is our focus in this new series of messages here on "Encounter God's Truth." They were originally recorded live as Dr. John Whitcomb delivered them to a conference at Appalachian Bible College in Mount Hope, West Virginia. Today, Dr. Whitcomb begins a sermon entitled, "Basic Biblical Answers." We are considering the profound issue of how we must present the Bible to non-believers in this postmodern, post-Christian culture. Our teacher opens by using illustrations from the disciplines of science and history to exemplify the challenges that evolutionists face, which we must probe as we proclaim the gospel to those who do not yet believe in Christ. Please join along with host Wayne Shepherd as we open this series on "Biblical Apologetics." This would also be a great opportunity to share our program with a believing—or unbelieving—friend.

Whitcomb Ministries welcomes Dr. Woodrow Kroll back to "Encounter God's Truth" for this special broadcast, titled: "How God Blessed the World Through the Jews." Dr. Kroll shows us from Scripture—which is true from the beginning to the end—and from history how God's blessings are indeed evident upon and through the Jewish people. We hope that you find this message to be informative, and challenging. Join host Wayne Shepherd in sharing your appreciation for this powerful message from a great friend of our ministry, Dr. Woodrow Kroll.

God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! We turn to the very end of the book this week on "Encounter God's Truth" with theologian Dr. John Whitcomb. It gives us a glimpse of the glory that awaits us—and also one last invitation for everyone to come and trust in Christ and receive His all-sufficient provisions for eternity. Host Wayne Shepherd asks Dr. Whitcomb if this study of the eternal destiny of the church sheds light on the church's origin and nature, as described in the historical books of the New Testament and the epistles. Whitcomb Ministries thanks you for listening to this study of "A New Heaven and a New Earth." We hope that it will be a real encouragement to you!

Bible teacher Dr. John Whitcomb explores the unique role of the church as the Bride of Christ in this installment of "Encounter God's Truth." God's Word is true from the beginning to the end, and we learn in this broadcast that it will be so at the future Marriage Supper of the Lamb—when Jesus Christ will return from heaven in glory and this relationship of Christ to His church will be displayed before the nations. Host Wayne Shepherd proceeds to inquire of Dr. Whitcomb as to how we might use our time at the close of this church age to become better prepared to meet the Lord and participate in this celebration. We appreciate your involvement in this ministry, and encourage you to share these truths with others who need to hear!

Do you anticipate receiving a reward from Christ when you stand before His Judgment Seat? On this edition of "Encounter God's Truth," Bible scholar Dr. John Whitcomb will inform and motivate us that we may present to the Lord gold, silver and precious stones when we meet Him on the awesome day of judgment for believers. Wayne Shepherd, our host, also asks Dr. Whitcomb what specific types of works we can do that will be considered valuable in terms of Paul's instructions in 1 Corinthians 3:12. God's Word is true from the beginning to the end, and we want to help you understand that Word and prepare for the future! Thank you for listening.

God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! Today on "Encounter God's Truth" we consider many details about the events that will unfold—in God's plan—surrounding the return of our Lord. Dr. John Whitcomb is continuing in a series called, "Our Glorious Future in Christ." This latest message includes a consideration of Revelation 1, where John sees a vision of the risen, glorified Christ. Host Wayne Shepherd then inquires of Dr. Whitcomb about some of the differences between Christ's coming at the rapture of the church and His final return at the second coming. We trust that this program, offering a study in Bible prophecy, will be a real encouragement to all who listen.

Do you believe we are living in the last days? If so, how should this affect the way we live? Bible scholar Dr. John Whitcomb answers those questions on today's edition of "Encounter God's Truth." He will explain what the final stages of the church age will look like—also showing us how we can have joy in the midst of the difficult days that may yet lie ahead before the Lord's return. God's Word is true from the beginning to the end, as we trust will be evident during this very special short series on Bible prophecy. Later, Dr. Whitcomb responds to a question from host Wayne Shepherd, who asks if there are any signs that show if the rapture is near. May God bless you as you listen to this important message.

Solomon - The Preacher gives instruction on what makes life meaningful after he pursued a number of dead ends. Those dead ends included things that our culture tells us makes for enjoyment: pleasure, wealth, women, entertaintment, building projects, palaces, and yet they brought no lasting satisfaction and joy. Solomon also instructs to find joy in youth, but pursue it carefully. This message also describes the fact that aging is a process of life, and how to successfully navigate the changes with meaning and purpose.

Each of our lives tells a unique story—a painting on a canvas, if you will—which clearly displays, to all who view it, the work of God. By faith we also understand it to teach that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! This week on "Encounter God's Truth" we hear the conclusion to our series, "Basic Biblical Distinctions," which was first taught before a Bible conference several years ago. Mrs. Norma Whitcomb finishes her talk on "Stillness Before the Lord" by speaking about "Contentment in Christ." She shared some candid reflections that give us insight into God's working in her life and family. With host Wayne Shepherd, we urge you to find a quiet place and listen to glean wonderful, Biblical life lessons from Mrs. Whitcomb's encouraging talk Whitcomb Ministries thanks Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind., for allowing us to present the audio in this series to you by means of "Encounter God's Truth." We hope you will enjoy it—then share it with a friend.

This week on "Encounter God's Truth" we continue the final topic in our series, "Basic Biblical Distinctions," which was first taught before a Bible conference at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana. We have the special treat once again to hear from Mrs. Norma Whitcomb, who discussed "The Need to Be Still." Mrs. Whitcomb went to be with her Lord and Savior in December of 2021. That makes it all the more important that we learn all that we can from her testimony of trusting the Lord—especially in challenging times. She began this segment by rehearsing a very difficult story—the death of her first husband, Robert Pritchett. We finished last time with the startling announcement she received about that, and we open with a brief review—as she describes their transition of coming back from the mission field in the Philippines shortly before his death. Through a lifetime of trials as well as blessings in their Christian experience, the Whitcombs have perceived this reality, that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! With host Wayne Shepherd, we trust that their story will serve as an encouragement to you, also.

Do you know who qualifies as "the worst missionary in the history of the world"? According to Dr. John Whitcomb, it was the prophet Jonah—the prophet that God sent to warn the nation of Assyria in the eighth century before Christ. Is it not amazing that Jonah—who had even tried to escape from the call of God and run away—had no love at all for the Assyrian people, "the most horribly cruel nation in the ancient world, the Nazis of the ancient world"? And yet he delivered the message that the Lord had given him for the city of Nineveh. Dr. Whitcomb views this as an example of speaking the truth—without love. It is still powerful, but it is not God's ideal, nor is it the most effective way that we can minister the gospel, or any of God's Word, which is true from the beginning to the end! With host Wayne Shepherd, Whitcomb Ministries thanks you for listening to this message called, "Truth is Greater Than Love," from our series on "Basic Biblical Distinctions." It comes from a series of sermons that Dr. Whitcomb recorded at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana. We are so glad to have their permission to present them to a wider audience here on "Encounter God's Truth."

The Preacher from Ecclesiastes gives us instruction on how to navigate and find joy in the fog that we sometimes, oftentimes experience in life. We all hit it at some point, so how can we respond with joy?

Our purpose on "Encounter God's Truth" is to proclaim boldly that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! Our teacher, Dr. John Whitcomb, is doing that currently in a series called "Basic Biblical Distinctions." It was recorded live at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind., and we thank them for allowing us to broadcast it to you here on radio and the Internet. We are in the middle of a sermon called "Truth is Greater Than Love." We are dealing with questions that will have a profound effect upon our Christian lives and ministries—such as how we are to find the balance between truth and love, and how we can truly show love to those we seek to serve. Today, we also consider the issue of Christians who practice truth without love—as opposed to those who seek to exhibit love, but compromise the truth. With host Wayne Shepherd, Whitcomb Ministries thanks you for listening to this broadcast, and encourages you to share all that you have learned from it with a friend.

How do we live with the paradoxes of life? We see the good die young and bad people prosper. We are told that it is better to go to a funeral than to a party. Why? There are other paradoxes that are referenced.

Which is greater—truth or love? And how are we to handle the balance between truth and love in our Christian lives and ministries? How do we demonstrate love Biblically? Dr. John Whitcomb will present the case that "Truth is Greater Than Love"—beginning this week on "Encounter God's Truth." Host Wayne Shepherd is guiding us through this series called "Basic Biblical Distinctions." It has a theme that is right in line with the message that you hear us present each and every week on this program—that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! This series is drawn from sermons that Dr. Whitcomb delivered at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind. We are very grateful for their partnership in allowing us to bring them to you here via radio and the Internet. We trust that you will listen carefully, be blessed—and then share what you learn with a friend!

The Preacher (Solomon) cites three mysteries with which he struggles about life. These include: 1. Riches without enjoyment, 2) Work Without Satisfaction, 3. Questions without answers. Yet we find in the New Testament, responses to theses mysteries.

Dr. John Whitcomb concludes his presentation of a concept that he calls "God's Truth Circles" this week on "Encounter God's Truth." These messages are helping us to understand more about how Jesus and the apostles dealt with people who were at various levels of learning and belief in the truths of Scripture. This gives us a model for knowing how we should approach people today, and it also informs us as to how we are to handle and teach the treasures found in Scripture—or, as Dr. Whitcomb refers to them, "the deep things of God's precious book, the Bible." This is part of our series called "Basic Biblical Distinctions." It builds upon the foundational principle that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. Host Wayne Shepherd expresses our appreciation to Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind. Dr. Whitcomb preached these messages to that congregation, and we greatly value their help in broadcasting them here on "Encounter God's Truth."

Solomon gives instruction on how to Worship Well, Live Wisely in order that we might live joyfully.

How are we to minister and teach the Bible in a world filled with error, confusion and compromise—a world of unbelief? With whom should we identify ourselves in Christian ministry, and how do we handle the rejection of the gospel? How can we be involved in both protecting and perpetuating the revelation that God has given to us in His Word? And how does God expect us to handle His Word in a world of professing believers who do not all agree on the Bible's meaning? How can we genuinely help people that we love? Dr. John Whitcomb begins to answer those questions today on "Encounter God's Truth" with a message on "God's Truth Circles." It is from our series called "Basic Biblical Distinctions." This theme of "God's Truth Circles" is a paradigm that Dr. Whitcomb developed and taught over many years to help his students cultivate a greater understanding of both theology and its proper application in practical ministry. Of course, it is based in the reality that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. With host Wayne Shepherd, we thank Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind., where Dr. Whitcomb first delivered these messages, that we are able to bring them to you here on "Encounter God's Truth."

We are reminded about what truly brings lasting contentment. We are also reminded about four instructions for living a life of contentment.

Dr. John Whitcomb concludes his life story, "The Conversion of an Evolutionist," on this week's edition of "Encounter God's Truth." He will share more of the account of his own conversion—and principles that he has drawn from that experience that have guided him through the years, and can still encourage us today. We will turn to Acts 17, where the Apostle Paul proclaimed the life-transforming gospel of Jesus Christ to the philosophers of Athens on Mars Hill—and to Acts 20, where we see the model that Paul gave us in the city of Ephesus for carrying out the Great Commission. Dr. Whitcomb first brought this message to the people of Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana, and with host Wayne Shepherd we are thankful to them for being able to share it with you here on "Encounter God's Truth." It is part of our series called "Basic Biblical Distinctions."

NOTE: FIXED UPLOAD TO PROPER MESSAGE! The Preacher of Ecclesiastes reminds us that God has seasons in our lives that He superintends. They include both the good and the hard times of life.

Can you imagine how insights acquired in a field artillery battalion at the Battle of the Bulge can instruct us regarding the proper use of Biblical apologetics? Dr. John Whitcomb takes us back to Belgium, in December of 1944, to make this connection for us in a simple yet profound way. It is Part Three of his testimony, called "The Conversion of an Evolutionist." Dr. Whitcomb is using illustrations from his own life to show us how God's Word is true from the beginning to the end—and to teach presuppositional apologetics. Host Wayne Shepherd sets the stage for the third part of this important message, as we continue our series on "Basic Biblical Distinctions." Dr. Whitcomb first presented this sermon to the congregation at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind. Whitcomb Ministries thanks this church for allowing us to broadcast it through the radio ministry of "Encounter God's Truth."

We live in a culture obsessed with the moment. "If it feels good, do it." Solomon tells us he tried to live that way and discovered it doesn't bring any lasting fulfillment. It comes up empty and actually leaves one in deeper distress. We are instructed in this message on what actually brings lasting fulfillment and purpose to life.

This week on "Encounter God's Truth," Dr. John Whitcomb tells the story of his conversion to the Christian faith—showing how numerous lessons that he has learned through the years since that time can be applied to our lives today. It is a personal and practical look at what God has done in the life of our speaker over many decades—and what he has gained from those experiences that we can utilize in our attempts at evangelism and upholding a Biblical defense of the faith. Host Wayne Shepherd reminds us that this insightful presentation also reinforces the reality that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end. This is latest installment in our series called "Basic Biblical Distinctions," which was recorded live at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind. Whitcomb Ministries thanks that congregation for generously allowing us to present these talks here on the radio ministry of "Encounter God's Truth."

What is the point or purpose of life? The "Preacher" wrestles with life and with what brings purpose and meaning. A reminder of God's purpose for our lives that has eternal significance.

Can you imagine Dr. John Whitcomb—one of the founders of the modern Biblical creation movement—ever being an evolutionist?Well, he was at one time—many years ago—an unconverted evolutionist! But God had a different plan, and our speaker begins to unfold that story today. On this edition of "Encounter God's Truth," we begin a four-part look at how God worked providentially in the life of our speaker—first to bring him to faith in Christ and then to give him a foundation for a lifetime of study, service and teaching of creationism and apologetics. We trust that you will be encouraged by our program this week. Whitcomb Ministries presents it with appreciation to Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana, where this message was first given. We also bring it to you in the hope that it will strengthen your conviction that God's Word is true from the beginning to the end.

We receive conflicting advice on how to live our lives with meaning and purpose. What has lasting value? Jesus gives to us instruction on living purposefully, no matter what our age in His final instructions as recorded in Matthew. Jesus provides Four Truths for Living Purposefully

God's Word is true from the beginning to the end! This week on "Encounter God's Truth," we continue to survey what the Word has to say about this world—from beginning to end—as we see it through history, science and prophecy.Host Wayne Shepherd encourages you to listen and learn about "The Five Worlds of History, Science and Prophecy." We pick up this week by thinking about the third world system. It is the second installment in a signal series from author and theologian Dr. John Whitcomb, called "Basic Biblical Distinctions." In it, we are looking at several issues involved in Biblical history and apologetics—and Dr. Whitcomb will show us what those topics really mean for us, and how they apply to our spiritual lives.Whitcomb Ministries is thankful to Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Indiana, for allowing us to bring these messages to you here on "Encounter God's Truth."

The Bible is a big book—so how do we really make sense of it all? Does it matter where we begin to read, or whether we take things in order? Is the Bible actually even based on real history? This week on "Encounter God's Truth," we learn some important answers to these questions as we begin a new series by Bible teacher Dr. John Whitcomb called "Basic Biblical Distinctions."Here in part one of a message on "The Five Worlds of History, Science and Prophecy," we want to study more about the world before the fall, the world between the fall and the flood, and the world as we see it today.Dr. Whitcomb presented the messages from this series several years ago at a conference held at Grace Bible Church in Elkhart, Ind. Along with host Wayne Shepherd, Whitcomb Ministries thanks this church for allowing us to bring them to you here on "Encounter God's Truth."We offer this program up with praise to God and thanks to the great outlets that bring it to you.

In this replay of a classic broadcast from "Encounter God's Truth," we hear Dr. John Whitcomb explain that the greatest catastrophes in the history of the world are yet to come.Just as the Genesis Flood shaped history in the past, so a flood of fire and other major events of God's judgment will be the definitive issues in this world's future. Are you prepared to survive these judgments? Dr. Whitcomb shared how you can be—in Christ.Host Wayne Shepherd also posed a question to Dr. Whitcomb, asking him to explain further how the last days will be similar to pre-flood times.Thank you for listening today to "Encounter God's Truth" from Whitcomb Ministries.
