Warning. This podcast is FUNNY. Hilarious funny. Magical. You've heard people tell you before to chase your dreams. But, few people actually do that, especially if they have a good career lined up in front of them. Meet Ryan Nelson. He actually left his career as a lawyer to pursue his passions of comedy, writing, and general creativity. What compelled Ryan to leave the comfy law firm life and start a multi-media company called Clydesdale Manhattan and an apparel company called Wicked Bass? We wanted to know and wanted to see how the journey is going. As you'll listen you will understand why Ryan made the move. You can tell he's happy tapping into his creativity. This is a great combo episode. We talk not only about chasing your dreams, but we get a chance to talk about the outdoors as well. It's The Brewmance and GO Show (our outdoor-focused show) working together. The Brewmance brings people together for well-crafted conversation over a drink or two. We met Ryan through Brian Helton, owner of Helton Brewing. Since Brian introduced us, we sip on Helton's Northeast IPA during our conversation. Join us. Rate, review, and subscribe to The Brewmance podcast. Find out more about Clydesdale Manhattan here or here. Wicked Bass can be found here. And the GO Show can be heard here.
Brian Helton, owner of Helton Brewing in Phoenix, AZ, talks about the importance of having mentors on The Brewmance podcast. Ironically, Brian is mentoring us all while sharing those lessons. Brian is just one of those guys. He loves to share his knowledge with others, whether that's an up-and-coming brewer, beer drinkers, or other business owners. Brian also has stepped back from brewing craft beer so he can focus completely on his business owner role. If you are a small business owner you will learn a lot from Brian. The Brewmance brings people together for well-crafted conversation over a drink or two. This week we grabbed a growler of Helton Brewing's Spaced Out IPA. We also talk with Brian about his beer, how canning helped the brewery during COVID, and other lessons learned during the pandemic. Join us and enjoy.

On November 8th Helton Brewing will be hosting a brewers dinner including some of the collaboration beer with Furious. Kirby from "Beer Talks: The Kirbside Edition" joins in as well!

Huge thanks to Crescent Crown for sponsoring this series. Welcome back to the 4th episode in this miniseries we did with the great guys over at InkleDeux training to get our Certified Beer Server designation by Cicerone. For all the beer "review" experts out there this episode is for you. Properly evaluating and grading beer is more than just an uneducated "I hate this". Its about knowing the difference between bad beer, beer you just don't like, and knowing what you don't like it. In this episode Brian Helton once again guides us as Liz, Brandon and I learn a thing or two.
It would be so appreciated if you liked and subscribed to our channel! Thanks for watching this incredible interview with Brian Helton. Brian owns a Brewery in which he creates a unique and fun environment for his customers and employees. Here at the Digital Hustle Show we are all about helping small-medium sized businesses navigate the changes that happen in scaling, in hiring and training employees, and choosing the right marketing strategy. Welcome back. In this episode, I get to hang out with some of the best chefs in the country. All of these badass chefs have been on the Food Network hit show Chopped and all are based here in Arizona. A few weeks ago Brian Helton reached out and said “Hey, you gotta get in on this. I am working with Itule Produce and a bunch of awesome chefs to make a one of a kind beer.” If Brian is involved, I’m in. And what Willie Itule Produce is doing to innovate in the produce industry is so great to see. I am really excited to see where this project goes. Stay tuned for future episodes as this project progresses. Enjoy the show!

Anyone who has even met Brian Helton knows that he is a huge advocate for education in the craft beer world. He has done many types of classes including pairings food with beer as well as sensory classes to help you become a better beer taster. This also includes Beer School which is basically a handful of breweries getting together to put on mini crash to help educate people in different areas of craft beer. Plus you get some sweet swag, get to taste awesome beers and meet some of the best people in the world. In case you haven't heard, craft beer people are the most awesome people in the world. We were lucky enough to be invited to cover this event and there was no way we were going to turn that down. It was great talking with everyone from people within the Arizona craft beer industry to home brewers looking to improve their craft to straight up beer enthusiasts. In this episode I get to hang out with Brian Helton. His focus is not to make some crazy concoction or off-the-wall thing but rather to make solid beer. And be able to consistently make it awesome. Time and time again. Well, so far so good Brian. As of this writing Helton Brewing Company has been opened for just around 1 year and from what they are doing over there they are going to open for a long time. A beautiful brewery and tasting room along with a brand new beer garden make this place on 22nd Street and Indian School a must visit. Oh yeah, they make some awesome waffles and stuff too. Bacon cheddar waffles which are totally my style. This Saturday May 20th, 2017 Helton is celebrating their 1 year anniversary with a grand old shindig. They are tapping a new Double IPA, will have live music, great food, and lots of other exciting stuff. And of course I'll be there so now you HAVE to come. See you there! Or if you are reading this and listening to the episode at a later date, well you sure did miss one hell of a party. You totally missed out and should regret it forever. Big thanks to Alexxis Grant for taking all the pictures for this episode. This week brings Mediocrity Inside to the brewhouse at Rock Bottom Brewery in Phoenix, AZ to interview Brewmaster Brian. We find out where he's from, why he became a brewer and how he got out to the desert. Soundguy has put together a beer trivia game to test how well we stand up to Brian's brewing knowledge. As if that weren't enough, we even share some comments about one of Rastaman's own homebrews. MI: Brewmaster Brian Helton
