1. U.S. Military Success Against Iran (“Operation Epic Fury”) The U.S. has massively reduced Iran’s missile and drone launch capacity over eight days. U.S. forces allegedly destroyed air defenses, missile sites (including mobile launchers), drone infrastructure, and naval capabilities. They argue the U.S. now holds air and naval superiority, enabling cheaper munitions and sustained operations. 2. Global Oil Strategy and Potential Seizure of Kharg Island Discussion of Iran’s dependency on Kharg Island as its primary oil export hub (≈90%). Suggestion that the U.S. may be positioning itself to seize or control this strategic point. This would cripple Iran financially, control the Strait of Hormuz, and create major leverage over China’s energy supply. 3. Domestic Terror Concerns Several incidents referenced (NYC explosive scare, Austin attack, embassy explosion in Norway). Such threats are not caused by the Iran conflict but by long-standing extremist ideology. Strong accusations that open border policies increased vulnerability to terrorism. 4. DHS Funding Fight in Congress Democrats are accused of keeping parts of DHS unfunded (Coast Guard, TSA, FEMA) while ICE remains funded due to earlier legislation. The speakers assert this creates risk to national security during a heightened terror threat environment. Claim: Democrats are doing this to appeal to their base who oppose ICE and strict immigration enforcement. 5. Global Reactions and Rising Islamist Activity Some Islamist groups allegedly responding violently worldwide due to Iran’s conflict and loss of funding. Concern raised that DHS funding issues undermine the U.S.’s ability to defend against these threats. 6. Criticism of Democrat Positions on Iran Senator Chris Murphy is specifically criticized for defending the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal. The deal never provided real inspection rights and would have allowed Iran to eventually obtain nuclear weapons. Trump pulling out of the deal and attacking Iranian facilities set Iran’s program back significantly. 7. Tucker Carlson Controversy “Unconditional surrender” leads to U.S. soldiers committing atrocities. The U.S. might require nuclear weapons to force Iranian surrender. These statements are anti-American, extremist, and helpful to Islamist propaganda. Claims that Iranian state media and the Muslim Brotherhood promote Carlson’s segments. 8. New Iranian Leadership Iran allegedly names the son of the previous Ayatollah as its new leader. Speakers argue any continuation of clerical rule is unacceptable for U.S. security. They describe Iran’s leadership as religious extremists who cannot be deterred like other states. 9. Airport Security Incidents and Public Anxiety Several recent flight diversions and security scares are mentioned. Reduced DHS staffing (due to the funding dispute) worsens risks and delays. The two also cover how a hacktivist group named the "Department of Peace" allegedly breached the DHS Office of Industry Partnerships and released details on ICE and DHS contracts with over 6,000 entities, including Anduril, Microsoft, Oracle, and Palantir. Finally, we then cut to David Hollingworth on the floor of Zero Trust World 2026, where he caught up with ThreatLocker's CEO, Danny Jenkins, unpacking the cyber security implications of the fighting in Iran, after Garman and Croft outline the threats to the world's financial systems as the conflict continues in the region. Hawk examines the recent suppression of a Department of Homeland Security and FBI intelligence memo intended for state and local law enforcement regarding increased domestic threat levels. This five page document warned of potential Iranian proxy or sleeper cell activity within the United States following the initiation of war on February 28th. A separate classified report from the National Intelligence Council suggests that even a large scale military campaign would likely fail to oust the clerical and military establishment in Iran. Despite reports of significant missile and drone strikes hitting Tel Aviv and U.S. military bases in the region, mainstream American media outlets remain largely silent on these developments. This lack of coverage coincides with major media organizations and social media platforms paying millions to Donald Trump to settle various legal disputes. The ownership of major news outlets by billionaires and individuals with specific geopolitical interests has led to a climate of self-censorship and a failure to provide a complete picture of the conflict. This behavior reflects a concerning trend of obeying in advance to avoid conflict with the current administration. Welcome to Last Call, a look at the biggest stories Jim and Greg covered over the past week on the 3 Martini Lunch. This week, they focus on the U.S. military's incredible execution in Operation Epic Fury against Iran, the downfall of Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem, and the Dems' disturbing fondness for a truly radical Senate candidate.First, Jim and Greg look at the jaw-dropping performance of the U.S. military in the war against Iran. Within the first few hours, the United States and Israel killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini and dozens of other top officials and seized military dominance by air and sea.Next, they look at how the week ended with President Trump firing Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem. Her congressional testimony seems to have been the final straw, as she admitted to spending $220 million on ads for the department. She claims President Trump knew about those costs and approved them. Noem also said there was open bidding for those contracts. That does not appear to be true. Then, they shake their heads as Democrats are starting to rally around Maine U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner despite his Nazi Totenkopf tattoo, radical writings, and disturbing associations. So why is the left OK with Platner? Finally, the "chaser" for the week is how a once famous TV pitchman got wiped out in a Texas congressional primary. Please visit our great sponsors:Download Noble Gold's free Wealth Protection Kit — visit https://NobleGoldInvestments.com/3ML to learn how to build lasting financial security.New episodes every weekday.

Alex is joined by returning guest Martin Benes, a history student and distance coach, to break down the political fallout surrounding Kristi Noem after Thom Tillis publicly blasted her leadership—reviving controversy over the memoir story about killing her dog and questioning what it reveals about decision-making in government. Alex and Martin also discuss Senator Kennedy's grilling of Noem and why it felt like someone may have prompted the line of questioning. The conversation explores the implications of Markwayne Mullin stepping in to lead DHS and what it could mean for immigration enforcement and ICE going forward. Along the way, they examine reactions from figures like Katie Britt and John Fetterman while reflecting on what these moments say about leadership, compassion in government, and the state of American politics.
Trump abruptly fires Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Dan and Jon discuss the Congressional hearings that led to her dismissal, Trump's announcement that Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin will replace her, and the future of DHS. Then they react to the administration's ever-shifting justifications for their war with Iran, Republicans voting with Democrats to subpoena Attorney General Pam Bondi over her handling of the Epstein files, how MAGA is already attacking James Talarico, and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy's new target: Dunkin' Donuts. Then, Dan talks to Politico senior political columnist Jonathan Martin about Tuesday night's results, the tense Republican runoff in Texas, and Jmart's forthcoming podcast series, On the Road with Jonathan Martin. For a closed-captioned version of this episode, click here. 1. U.S. Military Action & Objectives in Iran The U.S., alongside Israel, has conducted a major military campaign aimed at dismantling Iran’s military capabilities—missiles, drones, and leadership structure. Primary objective: Regime collapse, not a prolonged war. Trump administration views the Iranian regime as a 47‑year sponsor of terrorism and responsible for killing Americans. Intelligence suggested Iran was rapidly scaling missile and drone production, prompting immediate action. The Ayatollah and much of Iran’s security leadership were reportedly eliminated early in the conflict. 2. Nuclear & Terror Concerns Iran previously claimed it had enriched uranium sufficient for 11 nuclear bombs. U.S. officials believed Iran intended to develop and potentially use nuclear weapons. Iran has provided an estimated 90% of funding to Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis over decades. 3. Impact on China via Oil Disruption Iran historically sent 87% of its oil exports to China; Venezuela sent ~55%. U.S. actions against both nations’ regimes have significantly disrupted China’s energy supply chain. 4. Shake-Up at the Department of Homeland Security President Trump removed Christy Noem as DHS Secretary. Replacement: Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma. Noem faced backlash during Senate questioning—especially from Sen. John Kennedy—regarding: $220M in DHS-funded TV ads featuring her Possible improper contracting Claims that Trump approved the campaign (which he denied) Her testimony was viewed as damaging, contributing to her removal. 5. Texas Primary Elections Major developments in several key GOP races: Dan Crenshaw lost his House primary to Steve Toth, receiving criticism for confrontational behavior and losing touch with constituents. Multiple candidates endorsed by Sen. Ted Cruz won their primaries (Jessica Steinman, Chris Gober, John Bank). Texas Senate GOP runoff: John Cornyn vs. Ken Paxton—an expensive, bitter contest. Democratic nominee: James Talarico—portrayed as ideologically extreme but rhetorically moderate, making him a potentially formidable opponent. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. Megyn Kelly is joined by Jesse Kelly, host of "I'm Right," to discuss the high-stakes Texas GOP Senate primary between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton, President Trump game-changing endorsement in the race, why this could be the chance for Texas to help drain the swamp, Gavin Newsom melting down when asked a simple question about his main political project, Newsom's ramblings about Gandhi and Mandela, Katie Couric asking Newsom if he's too hot to be president, how the current conflict with Iran is in the “break things” phase of war, the much harder questions of what happens when it's time "make things" and rebuild, and more. Then Mark Halperin, host of "Next Up," joins to discuss the real reason Kristi Noem was fired from DHS, whether her rocky congressional hearing and relentless negative coverage became the final straw for President Trump, the truth about infighting with top officials in the Trump admin, why Gavin Newsom's profile as a straight, white, Christian, tall man could help him win the 2028 Democratic nomination, his struggles explaining his political vision on his current media tour, the growing trend of celebrities using Ozempic for extreme weight loss, why stars like Oprah Winfrey and others now appear shockingly thin, and more. Kristi Noem's tenure as DHS secretary was marked by significant controversy, including a $220 million taxpayer-funded ad campaign featuring her prominently to urge self-deportations, which drew bipartisan criticism for waste and self-promotion, alongside allegations of mismanagement, chaotic leadership, and scrutiny over her close ties to adviser Corey Lewandowski. President Trump fired Noem and nominated Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R) to replace her as homeland security secretary, effective March 31, 2026, while reassigning Noem to a new role as special envoy for the Shield of the Americas, focused on Western Hemisphere security. What happens when a sitting U.S. Senator, who's also a former Navy SEAL, walks in and breaks down the Iran conflict with the kind of clarity you only get from someone who's lived the GWOT? Everybody's got a take on Iran. Almost nobody can explain it like this. The fellas — Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan, and John Ashbrook — listen to Senator Tim Sheehy to lay it out: why this moment feels like the culmination of a fight that's been running for decades, why the “we're starting a war” framing doesn't match reality, and why the potential domestic ripple effects are concerning. In this episode… Sheehy's Iran breakdown: proxies, deterrence, “finish the job” logic. PLUS, DHS funding fight and what's at stake when the basics get politicized.Variety chaos: the kind of headline that makes you rewind to make sure you heard it right. The show swings to Ohio: the fellas sit down with Senator Jon Husted — a legit football guy with a national championship story — to talk the Ohio Senate race, how he pitches “grow the pie” economics, and why career and technical education is the part of the jobs debate that actually touches real families. President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he's replacing Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem with a Republican U.S. senator from Oklahoma.Trump revealed his decision in a post on Truth Social, saying Sen. Markwayne Mullin will take over on March 31.“The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at ‘Homeland,'” Trump wrote. The president's announcement comes two days after Noem faced a grilling on Capitol Hill from both GOP members and Democrats. During that hearing, Noem defended DHS's immigration enforcement tactics and pushed back against criticism from Democrats who say she wrongly disparaged Renee Good and Alex Pretti after they were killed by federal agents in Minneapolis.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Dave opens with current (2020-era) updates: promoting an upcoming Dopey Wood 2 comedy show in LA (featuring Marc Maron, Bobby Lee, Margaret Cho, etc.), the Dopey Foundation, Patreon perks, free Narcan/test strips offers, and the ongoing Dopey sticker contest. He reads recent Spotify comments praising/recapping previous episodes (Brace Belden, nitrous stories, etc.), plays a listener voicemail about teenage nitrous abuse, then transitions into the main replay. The core interview covers Jessica Kent's life: early alcohol/pill use starting at ~12–13 in upstate New York, progression to IV heroin at 17, selling drugs (weed → heroin → meth), magazine subscription sales crews while on the run, $30k+ dealer debts, robberies by partners, running from charges, accidental meth introduction in Arkansas, pregnancy and arrest (3 weeks pregnant, 2 oz meth + gun charge), giving birth in prison while in leg chains, fighting for custody of her daughter Micah post-release, white-knuckle sobriety driven by DHS requirements/hair-follicle tests, eventual full custody, and building a new life (YouTube, podcast, degree). She describes prison violence (fights over petty things like 50¢ pizza sauce, beating a child sex offender), disdain for 12-step culture in her experience, identity crisis after getting clean, and how motherhood became her anchor (not 12 steps or traditional recovery programs). Today's Headlines: The first cabinet firing of Trump 2.0 has arrived. After two rough days testifying before Congress, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is out. Her replacement is Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin — a rancher, MMA fighter, and former ethics investigation subject who had to repay $40K in "mistaken" payments. So, a lateral move. DHS remains unfunded for a third week, and Democrats say swapping Noem out isn't enough. On the war front, the House voted 212-219 against a War Powers resolution that would have required Trump to seek congressional approval before continuing strikes in the Middle East. The US embassy in Kuwait has been shuttered after retaliatory strikes killed six American soldiers. Trump, meanwhile, told Axios he wants to personally pick Iran's next leader — though he noted most of his preferred candidates are already dead, which is a sentence that actually happened. In a memo reported by The Information, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei went off on the Trump administration, stating plainly that the White House's beef with his company comes down to Anthropic refusing to donate, refusing to flatter, and refusing to play along with what he called "safety theater." OpenAI, he implied, has been less principled. Elsewhere: Trump's White House ballroom plans hit a snag after 35,000+ public comments — 97% of them hostile — delayed a federal vote until next month. RFK Jr. got 50+ medical schools to adopt his nutrition curriculum framework, though notably none of the schools that already settled with the Trump administration signed on. And a new anti-corruption group sued Trump and Pam Bondi over the TikTok deal, arguing the administration ignored Congress's national security mandate to hand the app to political allies instead. Join Jim and Greg for the Friday 3 Martini Lunch as they examine new questions surrounding departing DHS Secretary Kristi Noem's $220 million advertising spending, react to a weak February jobs report, and marvel at the cutting-edge missile technology that reportedly eliminated Ayatollah Khameini and many other top Iranian leaders.First, they continue digging into how the Department of Homeland Security spent nearly a quarter of a billion dollars on advertising. The scrutiny intensifies as details emerge showing that only a small number of contractors were considered for the work, many of them with personal connections to outgoing Sec. Kristi Noem.Next, they wince at the February jobs report, which shows a net loss of 92,000 jobs and the unemployment rate rising to 4.4 percent. Some experts note other key points, including that many of the job losses are in government. But Jim argues Republicans must avoid repeating a key mistake from the Biden era when it comes to the economy. Finally, Jim and Greg are fascinated by the Blue Sparrow missile used in the strike that killed Ayatollah Khameini and dozens of other Iranian leaders last weekend. Markwayne Mullin to Head DHS; “Donroe Doctrine” Summit: Trump Seeks to Build Right-Wing Power Bloc in Latin America
I didn't expect the day's biggest story to land before the show even got rolling, but the first major cabinet domino of the Trump administration has finally fallen. Kristi Noem is out as Secretary of Homeland Security. The immediate cause appears to be a congressional hearing exchange that went sideways. During testimony before Sen. John Kennedy, Noem said that a $200 million ad campaign — one that prominently featured her — had been approved by the president. The White House later said it had not, and it's that contradiction that seems to have been the final straw for Trump. It's no secret that the ground had been shifting under Noem for a while. Critical press coverage had been building, particularly around operational issues inside DHS. Some of it focused on headline controversies, but much of it involved the less glamorous details of running a department: delayed contracts, paperwork sitting unsigned, and basic administrative work that insiders say was slipping through the cracks.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.Complicating matters was the presence of Corey Lewandowski, who had developed a reputation inside the department as a, let's say, aggressive and polarizing figure. According to people around Washington, he made enemies across the bureaucracy, and those tensions ultimately became inseparable from Noem's own standing within the administration.Trump's apparent choice to replace her is Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, a former MMA fighter who has built a reputation in Washington as a loyal Trump ally and a frequent presence on television. In some ways, Mullin is a pragmatic pick. Replacing a cabinet secretary this late in a term can be politically tricky because any nominee must survive Senate confirmation. A sitting senator already has relationships and credibility inside the chamber, making it easier for colleagues to vote yes even if the appointment is politically uncomfortable. That dynamic worked to the administration's advantage when Marco Rubio moved into a cabinet role earlier in the term, and it could play out similarly here. Senators are often more willing to confirm someone they know than an unfamiliar nominee from outside Washington.Noem's departure also lands in the middle of a broader policy fight. DHS remains partially shut down due to a standoff between Democrats and the administration over immigration enforcement policies. From my perspective, this moment could provide Democrats with a face-saving off-ramp. With Noem gone, they could claim a political victory and move toward reopening the department without appearing to capitulate entirely on their policy demands. The alternative — maintaining a shutdown while security risks mount — carries its own political dangers. When federal security agencies operate without full funding, the political blame game gets complicated very quickly if something goes wrong.Fallout from the Texas PrimariesMeanwhile, the ripple effects from the Texas primary elections are already shaping the next phase of the campaign cycle. Sen. John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton are heading toward a runoff, and President Trump has signaled he may intervene with an endorsement.Paxton has already indicated he won't automatically step aside even if Trump backs Cornyn, raising the possibility that the party's internal fight could stretch out for weeks. Democrats, for their part, clearly prefer facing Paxton in the general election given his long history of scandals and investigations.Another runoff will take place in Texas's 23rd congressional district, where Tony Gonzalez is facing intense pressure after admitting he had an affair with a staffer. The admission carries serious implications. Relationships between members of Congress and staff can trigger ethics violations, and Gonzalez now faces an ongoing investigation. Leadership within the Republican caucus is reportedly signaling that even if he wins the runoff, he could still face consequences in Washington. In other words, his political future may already be decided regardless of how the voters rule.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:01:01 - Kristi Noem00:08:07 - Markwayne Mullin00:11:19 - Interview with Jennifer Doleac00:33:22 - Update00:33:54 - Cornyn/Paxton00:36:47 - Tony Gonzales00:39:36 - Mullin's Senate Replacement00:41:36 - Interview with Jennifer Doleac, con't01:00:14 - Wrap-up This is a public episode. Meet my friends, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton! If you love Verdict, the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show might also be in your audio wheelhouse. Politics, news analysis, and some pop culture and comedy thrown in too. Here’s a sample episode recapping four takeaways. Give the guys a listen and then follow and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Conflict Accelerates Tech Clay Travis and Buck Sexton discuss the geopolitical consequences of the ongoing conflict. They examine the paralysis of international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, rising global oil prices, and how extended military engagement could impact U.S. domestic politics—especially with Democrats preparing to tie gas‑price volatility to Trump’s foreign‑policy strategy ahead of the 2026 midterms. They also discuss the administration’s unprecedented stance that President Trump intends to influence the selection of Iran’s next leader following the assassination of the Ayatollah, raising questions about regime change, constitutional monarchy possibilities, and whether Iran’s military factions might accept a U.S.-favored successor. The hosts then explore historical parallels, comparing modern drone‑ and intelligence-driven warfare to conflicts such as the Gulf War and the 2003 Iraq invasion, suggesting that advances in technology have made “boots on the ground” less essential. This leads to a broader conversation about whether internal Iranian opposition could rise up without military backing and why genuine regime change is impossible unless parts of Iran’s armed forces defect. Trump's Texas Tactics Clay and Buck analyze the fallout from the Texas primary and the growing expectation that President Trump will endorse a candidate in the Texas Senate race. They emphasize how critical the Texas seat is to preserving the GOP’s narrow Senate majority and outline the broader 2026 Senate landscape—highlighting difficult Republican battles in Maine and North Carolina, as well as opportunities in Georgia. The hosts examine how a Trump endorsement, whether for John Cornyn or Ken Paxton, signals a deliberate effort to maintain Senate control ahead of potential Supreme Court vacancies. A major portion of the hour is devoted to the explosive controversy surrounding Democratic candidate James Talarico, whose far‑left ideological positions, past tweets, and public comments have become a focal point of criticism. Clay and Buck dissect his rhetoric comparing himself to biblical figures, his claims about “white skin” being a societal contagion, and his promotion of Dr. Fauci memorabilia—framing Talarico as a deeply out‑of‑touch progressive misaligned with Texas voters. They compare him to figures like Jasmine Crockett and Beto O’Rourke, arguing that Democrats continue to misjudge which candidates appeal to mainstream Texans. They also break down the Republican strategic calculus, suggesting that Trump may back Cornyn to avoid draining resources needed for more competitive races across the country. Kristi Noem is Fired President Trump has fired DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, marking the first removal of a cabinet secretary in this administration. Clay and Buck react in real time as Fox News reports the termination and the appointment of Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma as the new acting head of the Department of Homeland Security. They recount the scandals that contributed to Noem’s downfall—including reports of inappropriate spending, allegations about personal relationships, and a controversial $200 million DHS ad campaign featuring her—describing widespread bipartisan dissatisfaction after her congressional hearing. The hosts speculate on what the leadership change means for border security, immigration policy, and future DHS operations. Nerding Out with Ryan Political data analyst Ryan Girdusky, host of It’s a Numbers Game, to break down the dramatic firing of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, who was removed just minutes before stepping onstage at an event in Nashville. The hosts analyze President Trump’s official announcement elevating Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma to DHS Secretary, noting that Noem’s reassignment to “Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas” signals a clear demotion. The hour digs into the controversies that precipitated her removal—especially the explosive $200 million DHS ad campaign featuring Noem, allegations that she misled Congress, and her attempt to shift blame to President Trump. Girdusky adds further context about long‑simmering internal frustrations over Noem’s self‑promotion, image‑driven leadership style, and political alliances, all of which contributed to her rapid downfall. The conversation then pivots to the 2026 Senate landscape, with a heavy focus on the Texas Senate race. Girdusky breaks down why the Trump team appears intent on securing Texas early, explaining that Republicans must lock down states like Texas, Ohio, Iowa, Alaska, and Montana to maintain Senate control. He critiques Ken Paxton’s underwhelming primary performance and praises John Cornyn’s unexpectedly strong showing, attributing it to disciplined campaigning. The hosts revisit the Democratic nominee James Talarico, highlighting the avalanche of far‑left statements and viral clips that portray him as deeply out of step with Texas voters—comments about abolishing prisons, describing “whiteness” as a moral failing, redefining Christianity through progressive ideology, and advocating extreme abortion policies. Clay, Buck, and Girdusky conclude that Talarico is even more radical than Jasmine Crockett, predicting he will crater in a statewide general election. They emphasize that Democrats are misreading Texas by nominating a candidate shaped by progressive online culture rather than real‑world Texas sensibilities. Lawmakers grill Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison over what prosecutors say could be $9 billion in fraud across Minnesota's welfare programs, with many of the cases tied to schemes involving members of the state's Somali community. The U.S.–Israel military campaign against Iran intensifies, with American forces striking more than 2,000 targets in the first hundred hours and officials claiming Iran's navy and air force have been largely destroyed. Texas Democrats coalesce around State Representative James Talarico after Jasmine Crockett concedes the primary, while Republicans brace for a bruising Cornyn–Paxton runoff and a looming Trump endorsement. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem returns to Capitol Hill for a second day of testimony as lawmakers clash over immigration enforcement, DHS spending, and the administration's tactics in Minnesota.
