In this hard-hitting episode of the Battleground America podcast, the host delivers a double-dose of political reality. First, we dive into a devastating new Harvard Harris poll showing that 71% of Democrat voters now back deporting criminal illegal immigrants—proving the party's base has completely revolted against open-border policies after the DHS shutdown backfired and handed Republicans a massive $70 billion enforcement victory. Then, the host switches gears to pull no punches on the home team, heavily slamming Trump's newly negotiated Middle East peace proposal. Exposing the plan to release $25 billion in frozen assets to Iran just to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the host fiercely labels it "Trump's pallets of cash" and a maddening, half-finished surrender that mirrors the failed foreign policies of Obama and Biden. Welcome to your weekly UAS News Update. We have three stories for you this week. First, the FAA adds a new DHS authorization path for World Cup NOTAMs, a firefighting helicopter in Utah dodges an unauthorized drone, and AirData and LeoSight team up to bring live drone data to DFR programs. Let's get to it.First up this week, the FAA is modifying all of its FIFA World Cup 2026 drone NOTAMs to add an authorization pathway through the Department of Homeland Security. If you're flying commercial jobs where these TFRs are, you'll want to pay attention to this. The sweeping flight restrictions took effect on June 1st and immediately started grounding commercial drone operators who already held airspace authorizations. The stadium rings alone run 3 nautical miles wide and 3,000 feet tall on every match day, plus there are 1-nautical-mile rings over base camps in cities, hundreds of miles from any match. To fix this, the FAA is adding language that allows operations inside the Special Security Instruction airspace with DHS authorization. For Part 107 and Part 135 operations, you can now email your request to drones@dhs.gov. You'll need to include which flight restricted zone you plan to fly in, the cities covered, and a 24/7 point of contact. They're starting with the Texas locations first, like Houston and Dallas, before rolling it out to other states. If you don't have permission, or are denied, don't fly… Civil penalties for violating these TFRs can reach $75,000 per violation. And remember, until the amended language actually appears on a specific NOTAM at tfr.faa.gov, the existing restriction stands. So please, check before you fly.Speaking of TFRs, a firefighting helicopter working a brush fire near Moab, Utah, had to dodge an unauthorized drone over the active fire area. Thankfully, nobody was hurt and nothing collided this time, but the drone's presence alone created a serious safety hazard and forced the crew to clear the airspace. This incident comes 17 months after a DJI Mini 3 Pro struck the left wing of a Canadair CL-415 Super Scooper over the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles. That sub-250-gram drone punched a 3-by-6-inch hole in the wing, grounding the aircraft for five days during a massive emergency. The pilot in that case was sentenced to 14 days in federal prison and ordered to pay $156,000 in restitution. This is your reminder as we get into wildfire season, don't be that guy…Last up, LeoSight, a unified command software platform for public safety, has integrated with AirData UAV. This integration streams real-time drone telemetry, flight data, and operational insights directly into LeoSight's LeoCommand system, which includes more than just drones. If you aren't familiar, AirData is a platform that supports logging and live flight streaming. Now, mutual customers can stream drone data straight to dispatchers, command staff, and field personnel all at the exact same time. This means moving beyond isolated drone operations and into a fully coordinated response across multi-agency events. It'll be interesting to see if the sharing of data overwhelms folks who have other responsibilities or leads to better in-the-field decision making. No post flight this week, we'll see you on Monday for the live! Have a good one!https://dronexl.co/2026/06/09/faa-world-cup-notam-dhs-drone-authorization/https://dronexl.co/2026/06/09/moab-helicopter-drone-near-miss-super-scooper/https://dronelife.com/2026/06/10/airdata-uav-and-leosight-bring-live-drone-data-for-dfr-programs/

In this comprehensive broadcast, host Tara exposes the hidden operational currents linking American economic survival with global and domestic battlegrounds. Tara breaks down a breaking announcement from President Donald Trump detailing plans to seize control of Iran's Kharg Island oil infrastructure. She lays out a controversial strategy: why the administration deliberately permitted the Strait of Hormuz to remain unstable to force European market dependencies away from a China-backed Middle East and into full-capacity US refineries. On the domestic and intelligence fronts, the program uncovers the massive, unravelling small-dollar "smurfing" scandal at Democratic fundraising hub ActBlue, where CEO Regina Wallace-Jones invoked the Fifth Amendment under intense congressional questioning regarding 38 million foreign-tied donations. Tara connects these financial channels to sweeping local issues, exposing a chilling House Oversight report on a $9 billion welfare fraud scheme in Tim Walz's Minnesota—where DHS officials allegedly used police-state surveillance tactics to stalk and terrorize local whistleblowers. Finally, she crosses the Atlantic to tear into UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's new, severe speech censorship policies in the wake of violent riots in Belfast. Tara warns that the UK's incoming digital ID mandates and device-level image scanning represent a dangerous blueprint for personal privacy that Western liberals are eager to import. > Kharg Island military operations, Strait of Hormuz oil crisis, ActBlue investigation, campaign finance fraud, Tim Walz fraud scandal, Minnesota whistleblower intimidation, Keir Starmer online safety act, digital surveillance state, 287g immigration enforcement, independent political analysis
CannCon and Alpha Warrior bring the Thursday show with the ActBlue CEO finally in front of congress and doing exactly what everyone expected. Debra Wallace Jones pleads the Fifth on every single question, including how many foreign contributions ActBlue accepted, how much came from Russia, and whether the 38 million flagged donations her own board chairman acknowledged were fraudulent. CannCon explains the full scope of what the hearing is building toward: criminal charges, not just public theater, with laundering of taxpayer dollars through overseas venues back into US campaigns as the core of the eventual indictment. Alpha updates his Bolton cooperation theory after CannCon pushes back with the Petraeus and Berger comparison: Alpha argues the defining indicator is not the fine size but the timing of the plea, and six to nine months is absolute confirmation of cooperation because no one with resources pleads that fast without a deal. Trump signs the Secure America Act funding DHS through the end of his term, and Alpha's border patrol contacts say the danger level agents are operating under is higher than anything publicly reported. The Knicks pull off the biggest NBA Finals comeback in history, and Hakim Jeffries walks directly into a 1994 Madison Square Garden clip of Trump courtside with Marla after telling reporters Trump does not know who the Knicks are.
Quick recapKoop and Russ conducted their podcast "Two Grumpy Bastards" with a round-robin format of video clips and commentary, discussing political figures, current events, and social issues. They reviewed clips featuring Republican politicians like Max Miller and Brandon Gill confronting Democratic colleagues in Congress, criticized Democratic candidates including Graham Plattner's controversial nomination in Maine, discussed the Carmelo Anthony murder trial verdict, examined community demonstrations in Seattle regarding public safety, and addressed European political tensions including an attempted beheading in Ireland. The conversation covered topics ranging from congressional hearings and political morality to criminal justice, immigration issues, and educational displays in schools, with both hosts expressing frustration with what they perceive as declining standards in public discourse and political representation.SummaryVideo Format Discussion PlanningKoop and Russ discussed doing a round robin of videos instead of deep diving into one or two topics as they normally do. They briefly talked about an upcoming hockey game between teams tied at 2-2. The conversation ended with Koop mentioning technical difficulties with screen sharing and testing audio quality.Podcast Format and Video PlanningKoop and Russ discussed their podcast format and planned to do a round robin of videos with quick discussions after each one. They began with a video featuring Republican representative Max Miller responding to Rashida Tlaib's comments about US involvement in Lebanon, where Miller argued against a resolution criticizing American foreign policy and instead focused on the threat posed by Hezbollah. The conversation included some casual discussion about sports teams before transitioning to their planned video content format.Political Congress Exchanges DiscussionKoop and Russ discussed various political exchanges and moments from Congress, focusing on specific lawmakers and their controversial statements or actions. They highlighted exchanges involving Max Miller, Rashida Tlaib, and Jack Smith, as well as discussing the conduct of other members like Brandon Gill and Wayne Mullen. The conversation included analysis of specific incidents, such as subpoenas of Kevin McCarthy and concerns about social media posts by DHS, with both participants sharing their opinions on the political implications and the effectiveness of certain lawmakers.Political Discussion and Candidate CritiqueKoop and Russ discussed several political topics, including Marco Rubio's potential as a presidential candidate and his performance in a congressional hearing where he was interrupted by another representative. They criticized Democratic politicians, particularly Graham Plattner, Maine's Democratic Senate nominee, whom they described as an inappropriate candidate due to past accusations. The conversation also touched on Seattle's homeless policies and the residents' response to them, as well as the Democratic Party's nomination of Plattner despite his controversial background.Carmelo Anthony Murder Case DiscussionRuss and Koop discussed the case of Carmelo Anthony, who was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison. Russ emphasized that the case should not be viewed through a racial lens, stating that it was about individual responsibility and the violent actions of Anthony. They discussed the jury composition, with Russ clarifying that it was not entirely white, and addressed misconceptions about Anthony's legal representation. Russ expressed that the sentence was too lenient and advocated for harsher punishment, while both agreed that the quick jury deliberation indicated a clear verdict.Anthony Case and Public SafetyKoop and Russ discussed the Anthony case, agreeing that the defendant should have pleaded out rather than going to trial, and they debated the appropriate treatment of teenagers as adults for serious crimes. They watched a video of a community march in Seattle protesting crime and lack of enforcement, noting the peaceful nature of the demonstration compared to typical leftist protests. The discussion concluded with criticism of Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson for not attending the march and her perceived lack of priorities regarding public safety.European Tensions and Security ConcernsKoop and Russ discussed the escalating situation in Europe, particularly in Ireland, where tensions are rising due to an attempted beheading incident. They noted that the Irish public, including the left, is becoming increasingly concerned about the situation and the government's inability to protect citizens. Russ suggested that vigilantism might become more prevalent if governments continue to fail in their duties, and both agreed that cultural and immigration issues are contributing to the unrest. They also discussed the potential for further violence, especially if different communities in Northern Ireland unite against common threats.Pride Month Display ControversyKoop and Russ discussed a Pride Month display at Graham-Kapowsin High School that included vials of testosterone, which Koop criticized as inappropriate given the controlled substance status of testosterone. They noted that while woke initiatives have become more muted recently, they remain active and require continued vigilance. The conversation concluded with Koop sharing humorous clips, including a joke about British colonies and a reference to French warfare tactics.Thank you for listening and subscribing and liking the hell out of us!Politics. President Trump signs the Secure America Act, fully funding DHS through the end of his term with $38 billion for ICE and $26 billion for Border Patrol after more than 100 days of Democrat obstruction. He confirms bombing of Iran has resumed following the shooting down of a US helicopter and announces for the first time that the US military has been covertly extracting millions of barrels of Iranian oil nightly, which is why oil sits at $85 a barrel instead of the predicted $250. Trump also drops the 74th all-time stock market high, touts the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool opening, confirms Washington DC is at its lowest crime rate in 58 years, and signals he may not renew USMCA when it comes up July 2. The World Cup starts tomorrow, and someone should probably tell Iran.

Chuck Todd opens with an uncomfortable truth Republicans are doing everything possible to avoid acknowledging: Trump turns 80 next week, his physical and mental decline is increasingly visible to anyone paying attention, and the GOP is now repeating exactly the same mistake Democrats made by ignoring Joe Biden's obvious deterioration. The cruelest irony: Trump literally built his entire 2024 campaign on the premise that his opponent was too old and too sleepy to do the job, but Biden's catastrophic debate finally broke the Democratic silence in a way the GOP shows no signs of replicating. Chuck argues Trump's behavior isn't unusual for an 80-year-old — it's deeply unusual for an American president. He warns that Senate Republicans made an enormous mistake by not killing the weaponization fund, that every GOP incumbent up for reelection is now vulnerable to extremely effective attack ads, and that acting DNI Bill Pulte is almost certainly holding that position illegally — the courts will probably step in to declare him ineligible. He previews Tuesday's primaries in Maine and South Carolina, where Lindsey Graham looks genuinely vulnerable, and notes that if Graham gets forced into a runoff, history says he's in real trouble. He's watching how much protest vote Janet Mills picks up in Maine, and on Graham Platner — who has been saying that the war "messed him up" — Chuck offers a pointed observation: just because behavior is explainable doesn't always make it excusable. He closes with a sharp analysis of the Scott Pelley firing at 60 Minutes, arguing the real story isn't Pelley at all — it's the Ellisons, who are using 60 Minutes as a bargaining chip with Trump to get their Paramount merger approved. He believes 60 Minutes is a symbol with massive brand equity, and Trump wants to bring it to heel or topple it altogether. Then, David French — New York Times columnist, veteran constitutional attorney, and one of the sharpest legal thinkers writing today — joins the Chuck Toddcast for a riveting conversation about how the legal system is straining to handle a world being remade by AI, an out-of-control executive branch, and the slow erosion of America's basic constitutional architecture. French opens with the chilling case the Florida Attorney General has now brought against OpenAI in connection with the Florida State University shooter, who asked ChatGPT how to disengage his weapon's safety just three minutes before opening fire. French argues that if ChatGPT had been a human person, it would unquestionably have been charged as a co-conspirator — humans get prosecuted for encouraging suicide all the time — and that when ChatGPT is speaking, OpenAI is legally speaking, full stop. He walks through the murky liability questions the law is now scrambling to answer: Google Search has never been held to the same standard as ChatGPT, but ChatGPT actively generates new speech rather than just pointing users to existing content, and French argues that litigation needs to function as a meaningful deterrent rather than mere compensation — though ultimately Congress is going to have to actually legislate AI regulation rather than leave the entire field to civil lawsuits. The conversation turns to what French sees as a more immediate constitutional crisis: Trump's blanket immunity for tax violations and the "anti-weaponization" slush fund scheme, both of which French argues are flatly indefensible on legal grounds. He explains the deeper problem — Trump suing his own government creates a fiction of an adversarial proceeding when there isn't actually one, and Trump cares far more about the liability shield than the slush fund itself, because he's trying to remove himself from the operation of the law in essentially the same way a king would. The pardon power only covers federal crimes, not civil offenses, and Congress has clear authority to stop this if it had the will. French offers several concrete reforms: require congressional approval for legal settlements above a certain dollar threshold, force members of Congress to obtain a certification in the Constitution itself, and that political parties should perform comprehensive background checks for their candidates, On the question of whether the Founders intended a Christian nation, French is unequivocal: they didn't, and Madison rebuked Christian nationalism explicitly. The deeper structural problem behind the DOJ's loss of credibility is the unitary executive theory itself — Article II of the Constitution is dangerously vague, the executive was never meant to be a co-equal branch (Congress was supposed to be most powerful), and the only durable fix may require constitutional reform to formally remove the DOJ from executive control. French closes on a hopeful note: after every dark period in American history, the country has entered a major era of reform — and he believes one is coming again. Finally, Chuck hops into the ToddCast Time Machine to revisit the infamous quote “Have you no sense of decency” from the Army/McCarthy hearings, why McCarthy was one of the first American politicians to master the attention economy, and why that famous quote precipitated the decline of McCarthy’s influence. He also answers listeners’ questions in the “Ask Chuck” segment. Predict the action all the way through the finals. Subscribe to our YouTube channel On our political radar this week… Donald Trump says he's getting bored with his war, doesn't care about the mid-terms … but is laser focused on what matters: his reflecting pond renovation, diverting money from national parks for his D.C. cleanup, the Arc ‘d Trump, taking over DC golf courses, the UFC version of the ancient gladiator battles to the death, and reminding us daily that he's passed a dementia screening test four times. His latest middle finger to the nation: suggesting that the Las Vegas-style Fight Club arena on what used to be the White House lawn become a permanent part of the landscape. Vegas has the Dome and Elvis Wedding chapel; the home of Presidents, if Trump has his way, will have its own dome and a massive wedding reception hall. And it's being reported that Trump is looting money from National Parks maintenance to pay for his July 4 fireworks show, the Reflecting Pool, a White House helipad and DC cleanup projects. He'll burn up 1.6-million dollars blowing up stuff on the 4th … even as he burns up billions every week blowing up stuff in Iran. In an administration populated by the absolutely worst cabinet in American history, Trump manages to lower the bar even further with the appointment of Michigander housing developer and certified Trump suck-up Bill Pulte as acting Director of National Intelligence, a job for which he has absolutely no qualifications. Actors Matt Damon and John Krasinski … a.k.a. Jason Bourne and Jack Ryan … would be more qualified. Adding the the Bad Cabinet Blues: the new director of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullins, says as far as he's concerned following court orders is optional. Michigan Democrats are optimistic after making the case to the national party that Michigan should be in the first tier of 2028 presidential primaries. The state party has also rejected appeals related to vote counting in the April endorsement convention. Will the dispute extend to the official nominating convention in August? The state House has turned down a Republican-drafted constitutional amendment which would make all university boards and the State Board of Education gubernatorial appointed bodies instead of elected. Speaker Matt Hall didn't bother to talk with Democrats before putting the measure up for a vote. With a two-thirds vote needed to pass, it didn't come close to adoption, but could be revived for the November election. We are just 50 days away from the start of early voting in Michigan. The four races to watch: the 3-way Republican contest for the opportunity to battle Jocelyn Benson for Governor; the 3-way Democratic contest to battle Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate; and multi-candidate Democratic primaries for Congressional seats based in Lansing and Macomb County. Speculation has begun over who may be in the running for President of Michigan State University in the wake of last week's departure of Kevin Guskiewicz. Will it be a relatively unknown academic, or a high-powered retired politician? There's precedent for both routes…although the highest profile possibility, Gretchen Whitmer, has already announced she is not interested in the gig. Republicans in Congress are starting to push back on Trump outrages – the House passing a measure to stop Trump's Middle East war, Senators stripping the one-billion-dollar subsidy for his ballroom from the DHS budget, and both chambers primed to outlaw efforts to revive the $1.8-billion slush fund for rewarding January 6 rioters and other Trump fans. It's interesting that congressional Republicans only started to show signs of life after candidate filing deadlines. Michigan Congressman Tom Barrett, who no longer faces the possibility of a primary challenge, was one of four Republicans voting this week to end the Iran War. The political threat to non-compliant Republicans for pushing back against Great Leader comes as doubts about Trump's mental and physical health grow. His third physical examination since taking office coupled with an incomplete post-exam report on what the doctors learned, his reduced work schedule, the cankles and bruising – have increased the speculation. It sure looks like both his political and mental powers are in decline. This week's best political giggle: an AI doctored photo of Senate candidate Mike Rogers, turning his relatively fit 63-year-old body into a modern-day Charles Atlas. What the heck – it's easier than hours in the gym, or even going on Ozempic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Introducing our new podcast! Hats off to Minnesota! The Twin Cities kicked Greg Bovino's a** so hard he's limping back to California and then retiring altogether. We'll discuss the Trump administration's apparent pivot on the invasion of Minneapolis and the many legal cases pending there. First up, Minnesota v. Noem, where the state is trying to convince Judge Katherine Menendez to order DHS out of Minneapolis. Their Tenth Amendment argument got a big boost from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who actually sent Governor Walz a letter offering to pull back ICE's goons if the state would surrender its legal rights. Then we'll discuss Minnesota's lawsuit to preserve the evidence from the murder of Alex Pretti. The FBI says they've got it locked down, but Judge Eric Tostrud isn't so sure. Finally we've got a deep dive into the DOJ's effort to turn a protest at a church into a criminal conspiracy to oppress Christians. Show Links: Minnesota v. Two weeks ago, a federal magistrate refused to issue an arrest warrant for Lemon, Minnesota journalist Georgia Fort, and three others who were present at the MLK Day protest at a church whose pastor David Easterbrook is an ICE supervisor. Now a grand jury has indicted all eight of the DOJ's original targets. Chief Judge Jeffrey Sutton of the Sixth Circuit dropkicked the DOJ's judicial ethics complaint against Chief Judge James Boasberg of the US District Court in DC. DOCKET ALERTS: Trump celebrated President's Day by filing a trademark for Donald J. Trump International Airport — just in time for Florida's move to rename Palm Beach International Airport in his honor. KA-CHING! In Colorado, a state judge ruled that throwing prisoners in solitary confinement as a penalty for refusing to work violates the state constitution's ban on involuntary servitude. It's a start! And in Philadelphia, Judge Cynthia Rufe ordered the Trump administration to restore an exhibit on the enslaved people who lived at President's House under George Washington: "Each person who visits the President's House and does not learn of the realities of founding-era slavery receives a false account of this country's history." MAIN SHOW: In Minnesota, Judge Nancy Brasel ordered DHS to grant detainees in "holding rooms" at the Whipple Building in Minneapolis meaningful access to counsel. The ruling bars ICE from removing immigrants from the state for 72 hours after they are originally picked up. We'll discuss the cracks appearing between DHS, which ignores court orders, and DOJ, which has to show up in court and take the blame for it. In New York, Judge Lewis Kaplan issued a similar order in September with respect to temporary "holding rooms" on the 9th floor at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan, with additional requirements that DHS provide for detainees' hygiene, nutrition, and medical needs. The plaintiffs say ICE has not complied and moved for contempt. The City reports that DHS opened up new temporary detention facilities on the 10th floor, but claims the injunction doesn't apply there for, uh, REASONS. And we break down all the ways Republicans are trying to suppress the vote with the SAVE America Act, which solves the nonexistent problem of noncitizens voting illegally by imposing a series of restrictions on citizens registering and voting. In the subscriber bonus, we discuss a district court's decision in Massachusetts enjoining the Trump administration from deploying ICE in and around churches. For a second week, reports of inhumane conditions at Delaney Hall in New Jersey are drawing protesters and camera crews. A handful of journalists and dozens of protesters have been arrested. Under this Trump administration, I.C.E.'s operations have ballooned, making it the highest-funded U.S. law enforcement agency. This week we're sharing an interview Micah did with Drew Harwell, a technology reporter for The Washington Post, from earlier this year. They discuss how I.C.E. is trying to enlist new agents through a "wartime recruitment push." On the Media is supported by listeners like you. John this time talks about the GOP divorcing themselves from Trump's $1.8 billion Cop-Beater slush fund after a federal judge stopped it dead in it's tracks. And, he talks about the many artists running for the hills saying they want no part of Trump's Great American State Fair political rally. Then, he interviews Tennessee State Senator Charlane Oliver. On May 7th, she disrupted a special session of the Tennessee legislature held to redraw the congressional map in the wake of a recent Supreme Court decision. She stood on her desk, unfurled a banner with the text "Jim Crow 2.0" and "Stop the TN Steal", and sang the hymn "Lift Every Voice and Sing". The State senate speaker blocked Oliver from voting on the map. Next, John speaks with independent journalist Marisa Kabas. She has been one of the journalists thankfully glued to ICE and DHS as it sows chaos and violence at the Delaney Hall detention center in New Jersey. And last but not least, comedian Rhonda Hansome jokes with listeners about Trump's crumbling world.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
